Fantasy Umbre Vineam (ignore post count, always looking for ppl!)

A guard patrolled around the market place, a wolf attached to a lead was walking with him, growling occasionally. Every time he did, the guard tugged sharply on the lead, causing the collar round his neck to tighten and bite into his skin, causing him to yelp loudly. He snarled and tried to bite the guard, who merely pulled out a silver knife and the wolf fell silent.

Pili Kakra

Pili felt bad for letting Marquist talk so much on his own. She barely responded to most of his questions, and only shrugged or smiled shyly when she was hesitant to respond. "Did you really have so much bad luck?" she managed to ask. Self expression was something she lacked. Pili laughed at his comment on her perfume. Suddenly, Marquist seemed like he needed to get something off his chest. Did he know she was purposefully trying to avoid the truth about the zombies... her face began to reflect his own. Omission is a form of lying... she thought guiltily. Huh favor? Yet again, she sighed in relief. "D-don't let buy you ale?" she couldn't imagine trying to stop a grown man from drinking his beer. He truly looked embarrassed. "How about I gift you the money to buy an empty fa-facility for your weapons shop?" She smiled reassuringly. "Consider it a thank you for helping me."

Zi? Zinnie thought in confusion as Masika shifted the focus of the conversation to her name. She wasn't really use to nicknames, or found of them, as she thought they really weren't necessary; also, she herself really liked her name her mom gave to her. Her next statement, of Zi sounding way more sexier, made the kimono girl blush slightly once more and her heart rate increase slightly once more; there was no doubt in her mind, the girl was flirting with her. She had never been called sexy though, a few times she would here that some people thought her cute and nice, but never sexy. Zinnie knew she didn't have that type of figure, nothing was extravagant about her; unlike Masika's body.

Her mind was distracted with these thoughts that she was having, causing her to miss the dirty look Masika was giving her, but was able to caught the pricing she had given her; although it sounded like the Egyptian woman had stumbled on her words...or were they on purpose?
"If you want" she stated shyly, hoping that maybe Masika would call her by her real name instead. Nodding slightly at the recommendation, "Alright, I'll take 30 oz." stated Zinnie as she tried to reclaim her mind for her own, it had been a while since the last person flirted with her and it was sort of intoxicating. She smiled lightly before looking down and lightly placing one of her hands under the sash that tied the kimono and producing a small red envelope with her money in it; "The roses remind me of the garden my mother use to have before she fell ill 4 years ago" explained the kimono girl, trying to stear away from the current course of the conversation.

During Masika's interactions with Zinnie, Haeekor became even more distrusting of her, he did not like the way she acted and thought it extremely suspicious of her to act this way to someone she had just met. And so, deciding to somewhat take action into his own, spiritual, hands. When Zinnie bent down to grab her cash, Haeekor manifested some of his upper body; revealing his upper body for the woman to see for a few brief moments; a look of disapproval on his face as he just stared at the girl with an icy and angry look with his green eyes before disappearing when Zinnie came back up.

Zinnie pulled out the money she owed for the 30 oz. and placed the envelope back where she had gotten it before handing 50 to Masika.
"Here" she stated in a calm manner, her voice remaining soft as ever.

Masika smiled cockily as Zi seemed flustered with all her flirtations. "What's wrong, Zzzzi" she said emphasizing on consonant in a teasing manner. When Zinnie finally managed to put herself together, Masika responded, "Ah, I chose wisely then." She nodded approvingly. As Zinnie bent slightly to retrieve her money for the purchase, Masika tilted her body and head to the side to inspected her "goods." She looked fun to play with. To her surprise, a large shadow appeared behind the slightly bent Zinnie. I didn't hear another customer come in... She slowly looked up at what resembled a panda. The moment his cold eyes met with her's, he disappeared. "Uh, sir?" She beckoned at the presumably invisible panda. "Invisibility is not permitted in my store." She said blatantly as she continued staring where she last saw the panda.

When Zinnie was placing her red envelope behind her sash, she saw out of the top parts of her eyes Masika pointing behind her and talking to someone, something about invisibility. Weird...she didn't sense anybody follow them into the store, could she be talking about Haeekor? But that would also be highly unlikely, Masika didn't seem to be the type of person to be able to see the dead, or else she would have commented on Haeekor before.

Either way, the girl smiled softly before speaking,
"I don't think anyone else is in here, but if there is then Haeekor will not allow any harm to us nor anything to be stolen" Zinnie stated in her normal soft voice, yet confidence rang in her statement as she knew the Qi spirit would do just that; protect. Despite his hatred for human's, she knew that he helped others out either way; whether he liked it or not.

Haeeker? Masika thought to herself. Her face scrunched in confusion, "Who?" She waved her hand frantically as if saying never mind. "Just leave the money on the counter," she went around the register and into the storage room, "I won't tolerate invisible customers in my store!" A trail sand spiraled behind her. Her temper grew again. "Where is that damn perfume Pili made?" When Pili is not working, she creates magical perfumes to aid situations such as now. "Aha! The All-Seeing perfume." She stomped her way back to the front of the store. While she was walking angrily, she sprayed her sister's custom made perfume through out the store. Finally, she got him, "When I say, 'No invisible people,' I MEAN no invisible people or creatures either." She crossed her arms spitefully. "If you can't handle being seen, there's the door." The sand around her calmed a bit. She sat back down on the chair behind the register. "Now, where were we?" she smiled and fluttered her eyes flirtatiously. She ignored the Panda's irritable presence.

Zinnie smiled a bit before doing as she was asked, placing the money on the counter for the flirtatious Masika,
"Haeekor is like the father I never had, he has looked over me ever since my mom passed" explained the girl, pausing when Masika stormed to the front and began spraying another perfume all over, ranting angrily about a mysterious and invisible person. As she did so, Zinnie couldn't help but notice that sand trailed all around her, that, and how perfect of a figure the woman had, causing her to slightly blush once more for a brief moment; returning back to normal before Masika sat back down.

Maybe she is talking about Haeekor... Zinnie thought to herself, seeing how that was the only probable explanation that she could think of. She bowed politely at Masika, "I'm sorry, it seems as we have angered you" apologized Zinnie before raising herself back up and stepping to the right a bit. At the same time, the kimono girl also turned her head to the left to look behind her, "Haeekor, we are guests here, would you kindly manifest for Masika?" asked the girl politely, and after a few seconds of nothing; Haeekor fully appeared into sight, staring down at the small woman from a height of 6'4. His cold look was replaced with a neutral expression, but obviously still weary of the woman.

"We have angered you"? Masika repeated Zinnie's words to herself. Her face scrunched, again, in confusion, "He's yours?" She blinked to and from the big bear to the Young woman in the kimono. What a mismatched couple... Suddenly, Masika looked disappointed. "No, wonder he looked pissed off!" She slapped her forehead and began to laugh. "I'm so sorry, Haeekor. I didn't know you guys were... together." Her gaze dropped down and she finally picked up the 50 and placed it in the register. She didn't want to look up again. She was a bit ashamed for flirting with a taken woman. "Thanks for coming. I hope to see you again..." She rubbed her arm insecurely, and kept her eyes on the register.

Zinnie shook her head slightly in response to the question,
"It's impossible to own the dead, only befriend them" explained the kimono girl in response to Masika's question of owning him. Then she raised an eyebrow out of confusion, it seemed the woman once again changed moods, this time she looked a bit depressed. Now why would that be? It took Zinnie a while to understand, but it finally dawned upon her what Masika was thinking.

Zinnie's face once more lit up a bright red color out of embarrassment,
"No no no no, we aren't together like that. Just friends..." she turned slightly to her left, and quickly spoke in a hushed whisper. "Besides, I've never actually dated anyone before"

She was completely embarrassed, unable to really speak or act anymore, the girl had never really had anyone assume that she and Haeekor were together, let alone never had she revealed that she never dated anyone before.

Haeekor blinked his green eyes after observing the situation at hand, one of the many faults of humans; they were unable to convey what they meant at all. It's sad to think that they were able to, at one time, conquer the
Sacred Mother. Although seeing how Zinnie was acting while in the shop, he assumed that she trusted this Masika, and so he had to intervene; for Zinnie's sake. After taking a silent breath, he spoke up. "The Qi do not believe in marriage, or love. Let alone with a human" he stated, his tone calm, yet sturdy.

Masika's eyes widened when Zinnie cleared up her confusion, "Oh... so, are you interested in a gal... like me?" As she spoke these words, she walked around the counter and to Zinnie's side. With the tip of her finger, she slightly touched Zinnie's shoulder. She smiled, "How about we go out tonight when I get out of work?" She bent herself a little to be at Zinnie's height. Her hands were on her knees, her inner arms were pushing against her breast accentuating her cleavage yet again.

Zinnie's heart skipped a beat when Masika, pretty much, asked her out on a date, it felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest. No one, that she liked, had ever asked her out on a date. The girl looked back to Masika and smiled before nodding her head,
"I would love to, what time?" the kimono girl replied, her mind already wondering about the endless possibilities of what they could do, where they could go, etc.

As this went on Haeekor mentally sighed at this behavior,
Humans... he thought to himself in a sarcastic tone, he truly thought the worst of them that was for sure. "I'll be waiting outside" stated the panda man before turning around and walking through the door; disappearing back to his spirit form as he did so.

No problem, happens to everyone :3

Masika went back behind her counter, crossed her legs when she sat, and plopped her elbows on the counter again with her fingers intertwined. "I close at 9pm. Meet me here with a place in mind." She smiled and waved her fingers at Zinnie then resumed with her hands locked again. "Better tell Haeekor to not peek if we're doing something private," she said with a wink.

Marquist Straightened up at the mention of fronting the money for his shop. Could she really do a thing. Well probably seeing by the way she was dressed but would she really do such a thing? Marquist stammered' Th..th..that would be amazing!" He could not contain himself he opened his arms wide and gave Pili a hug. He realized quickly this may be a little uncomfortable for her and quickly backed off. "my apologies you really do seem to be good luck though." Marquist thought about the success he could have hear especially with such a good start as that he would be able to get things running very quickly. "I can make you whatever you like then! I don't make just weapons I also make tools and odds and ends. I can be quite creative actually." Marquist hoped this would be an acceptable offering for her assistance. As Marquist thought of her offer it sunk in and for once Marquist was silent his jaw slack and his eyes looking far away.

Pili smiled when she saw Marquist's attitude changed from embarrassed to full of glee. She was caught off surprise when he hugged her. The most affection she received from her family was the traditional kiss on the forehead. The beard on his face felt strange in comparison to her father's beard. It was a bit more frizzy and not as soft. His hug left as quickly as it came. The sudden moment was all a blur for her. "Can you make jewelry for Anubis?" She asked when a great idea popped in her head while looking ahead, Anubis was only a few steps away. "You smell that?" She asked ask she sniffed the air, "You know Anubis is near when you smell cinnamon & roses!" Pili thinks it would help Marquist promote his store if he left some samples for some of her customers. She's is certain, if he's a good smith, her customers will ask where did they get the jewelry.

Marquist thought for a moment of doing Jewelry. He had done lockets and bracelets for people and necklaces as well. He knew he could do it he would have to get some new tools for such fine work. "Well.." Marquist stroked his beard. "It would take some time as I have to make the finer tools I would need for such but yes I could do anything you like. I would practice first a bit but it could be done." Marquist smelled the store close as well. "I too smell it! shall we go take a look inside?"

Pili spotted sand at the foot of the door of Anubis, "Uh oh..." She realized that apparently Masika was alright. She wasn't hurt after all, but she hates working the day shift. "M-my sister... she's okay," she said frighteningly. She couldn't imagine how her sister would react if she found out that Pili thought she was missing. Pi laid her back against the wall that was adjacent to Anubis' door. She was extremely pale and frightened. She looked at Marquist with big puppy dog eyes. What message was she sending him? Not even she knows. She simply knew her sister was going to be enraged.

"Well w found her that's fantastic!" Marquist saw the look he was getting from Pili. He returned it with a quizzical look "Are you going to need help? I can stick around if you like." Marquist was curious about this sister that seems to have caused so much trouble there was a lot he did not understand about these two. Hopefully meeting them and seeing this shop would at least spark some ideas of some trinkets he could make to get things started. Also a proper introduction would go a long way to a profitable business. or so he hoped.

a light bulb went off above Pili's head. She mentally was relieved she was able to come up with something. It was thanks to Marquist's offer to continue helping that gave her the idea. "Ca-can you pretend you were a customer and that I went to assist you?" She asked Marquist. This might help her sister believe she was actually working rather than aimlessly looking around for her.

Marquist thought for a moment in his mind he was thinking of course he would help her but something in his gut told him to be cautious, He ignored his gut and played it off as Hunger pains. "of course anything to help you out. Though what would we tell her we were doing? Though I am into Perfume thus far I do not look like your typical customer I would wager." Marquist really did not want any trouble but he thought again she was a bit of a good luck charm for him so whatever happened couldn't be worse then everything else that had happened this week.

Pili puffed up her chest. She was holding her breath. She forgot to plan with Marquist what exact lie to say to Masika and got carried away thinking of how the disastrous the shop may look now. She, without second thought, barged into Anubis and the bell on the door rang noisily. Sand everywhere. On the counters, the floor, the storage area, and Pili bet's the register is full of sand too. "Nooooo-ooh-hoooo-hooo..." she muttered disdainfully. It was worst than she imagined. Masika must have been really angry... Pili thought. She mentally thanked the god of perfume, Nefertum, for the Asian customer that was distracting her. As usual, she had flirting with the young girl wearing a kimono. Pi could tell by Masika's stance. It was her 'hunting' stance. She used it on customers all the time. It wouldn't have surprised her if Masika asked the girl out already.

Haeekor eyed the strangers, one looking to be a relative to the girl in the store and the other an older man of sturdy build; the two communicating at the rate that human's normal due; as slow as molasses. It seemed that they were planning to barge into the store though, and this made the panda creature on edge, and so decided to follow them quietly inside. He would have no trouble due to his spiritual aspect, not many could see spirits under normal circumstances, not unless you had that ability.

Zinnie smiled once more and nodded her head in understanding,
"I'll be here" she stated with her small smile before hearing the door open, and quite noisily as well. She turned around a few moments afterwards with a neutral expression, regaining her posture at the drop of a pin, something she had normally done throughout her whole life. Her light-brown eyes met with the eyes of another girl in a similar Egyptian attire, presumably related to Masika, and from the corners of her eyes she saw an older looking man and behind them was Haeekor, as vigilant as always.

She ran one of her small and delicate hands along the hair line of long Harlequin colored hair, a habit she often preformed before talking to someone.
"Hello" she greeted the two new people in a soft and warm voice; despite her neutral expression.

Haeekor, a spirit of the long lost Qi, remained behind Pili and Marquist, ready to act just in case anything happened, as always he was not trusting of humans, and of strangers.

Masika looked towards the entrance of Anubis when its bell rung obnoxiously. Would you look at who it is.... she thought bitterly. Pili looked as if she slept in a garbage dump. "What a disgrace," Masika said to Pili with a look of distaste. "You cannot work in that attire! Shower and change, and get to work," she demand as she began to walk around the counter again. She linked her arm around Zinnie's. "Hi, welcome to Anubis," she said blandly to the older man. She was trying her best not to give him a look of disapproval. He looked just as filthy as Pi, but a customer was a customer. Despite all the variety of smells and fragrances Anubis carried, she could sense one of her products on the old man. She could easily get him to drop all his money for her. Then again, she was occupied with Zi and now it is Pili's turn to work. Extra hard. "Pili will take care of you," she said in a monotone voice. "Come, Zi! Turns out my shift just ended!" Masika smiled at her new companion. "Where did big boy go?" She asked referring to Haeekor.

egyptian%20border_1.png

Pili Kakra

Pili looked at the floor as Masika insulted her. She nodded when she was ordered to bathe and wear a new attire. Pi almost forgot about her appearance. She was so caught up in the moment, she didn't even think of how to explain her trashed clothing and her strange stench of death and Egyptian perfume. "I'll be back..." Pi whispered to Marquist as she rushed past him to hurry home and shower. She ran to their luxurious apartment. Her sandals against the concrete made a loud Click Clack noise. Her jewelry and headpiece jingled while the gold beads in her hair clattered as well. She sounded like Christmas gone wrong. She tried to hurry to the apartment, so Masika, Marquist, and the other guest did not have to wait long for her to return.

Marquist was not really sure what was happening. He decided to try and talk to the rather upset sister that he had helped search for. "Hello I am Marquist! it is a pleasure to meet you and see this beautiful store you have!" Marquist really did like the things he saw and smelled. He didn't know what half the smells where but he knew that they were good. It was also pretty apperant that this store made lots of Money he wanted to make jewelry for this place very bad. He realized he could make great money doing so. As Pili went off Marquist waved "I'll be around still don't worry take your time." Marquist was in anything but a rush. aside from the fact that was never how he lived his life anyway he really had no hurry he just needed to get the lay of the land. This store seemed to be a very good place to start though. Marquist began carefuly looking at all the diffrent things in th store taking his time as he had so much of it. Also though he was looking for inspiration of things to make for the store as well. His mind began racing with Ideas and patterns. This could work out very well. He smiled and began stroking his beard.

Zinnie watched as Masika talked commanded the other girl get ready for work, presumably they knew each other due to how she was talking to her. IT was kinda saddening to see people talk like that to each other, but it wasn't her place to say anything. When Masika liked arms with her, she smiled softly, it appeared that Masika was ready to get out of her shop for a while; she couldn't blame her, she had that feeling from time to time in her own shop.

"Do you mind if we stop by my house? I need to drop off some stuff" asked the kimono girl, lifting up a small bad that contained some bottles of ink and the bottle of perfume she just bought from her. When she asked about Haeekor, she turned her head to face behind Marquist, "There" Zinnie stated before Haeekor manifested behind Marquist, revealing himself to the normal people.

At last, Pi arrived at her apartment. Sadly, it was below her sister's. Even though Masika tries to keep a distance from Pili, she somehow still remains close. Pili, believe it or not, wishes to be closer to her sister, apartment and all. Her sandals, yet again, clitter-clattered across the gold and white checkered tile of her home. She quickly striped of her silky, Egyptian clothes and leaped into the shower. Everything in Pili's home was Egyptian, the shower curtains had glittery-gold hieroglyphs of a pharaoh's eye, her bed sheets were teal with a shimmer of gold, in her living room, she had a wool handmade Tirbal Kilim rug, on every table, there was a statue of Anubis, Nefertem and much much more. Everything was shipped from her birthplace from her parents. Everything was either a shade of teal, gold, beige, or black. Finally, Pili finished bathing and rushed to get herself dressed. The off-white dress she decided to wear was held up by one strap and was worn down to her ankle, while the upper edge was worn slightly above the breasts. She added traditional gold jewelry with turquoise gems embellishing it. She wore a thick, dramatic necklace with matching turquoise dangling earrings, and an anklet. She carefully used eye shadow with crushed malachite. Red was applied to her lips, and she replaced the gold beads in her hair with new glittery-teal beads and wore the same tiara as before. It was her favorite after all. She finished with simple leather sandals and ran off back to Anubis. She dressed to her sister's expectations. When she arrived, she was shocked Masika waited. She knew how impatient her sister can be. "Back," she said a bit out of breath.

"Yes, of course, Zii-dear," Masika said as she escorted Zinnie out of her store. "Let's wait outside while we await Pi," said said briefly. Within moments, she was already tapping her foot impatiently. She tightened her hold on Zinnie's arms like she was trying to grasp the last bit of patience that was left within her, if there was any left. She tried to distract herself by speaking to what first came to her mind, "Goodness! My sister has never looked so utterly disgusting! What shame she has brought to the Kakra family name," she stuck he nose in the air arrogantly. "To think she was planning to work in that attire is repulsive!" Masika went on. She kept looking in the direction of Pili and her apartment. Her foot seemed to be tapping faster and faster. Finally, she heard all the clanking of Pili's jewelry and her foot tapping came to a halt.
