She smirked a little and shook her head. "That's true. They're good no matter what." She says as she dished her plate, going down the line as she grabbed one pancake, a little bit of ham, and eggs as well as a piece of toast. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until now.

Adam filled his plate before he started to led her to the table they had been at for dinner. Emery followed with him and was silent, he even ate without a word.

Rowan tried to make some small talk. But she also focused on her food and the plan she had been formating in her mind. She was nervous for their upcoming mission. She tried not to think too much about it though and she could only hope it would be okay. It had to be, she could not fail this. Half way through breakfast she had become so absorbed in her thoughts that she hadn't realized she was finishing, as were the boys.

Emery had left to get ready by the time Adam touched Rowan's shoulder,"Hey, you okay?" he asked curiously.

She flinched back a little, not meaning to and not sure why she did. She offered him a smile though and then shrugged. "Yeah." She assures him. "I'm going to go get ready. Are you done with your plate or are you doing to get more?" She asks as she started to get to her feet.

Adam smirked, "I could go for more, but if you are done then so am I." he commented as he looked at her a little concerned, "Are you okay? Maybe this mission is too much for you to be leading so soon"

She shrugged. Between the mission and trying to figure out what to do about him she felt a little overwhelmed. She felt horrible for it to. "It doesn't matter whether I can handle it or not. It has to be done and it has to be done now." She says. "I didn't grow up here, therefore I have to hit the ground running or I'm not going to last." She says with another shrug.

Adam stood up and smirked at her, "Don't worry, you can always ask me. I was not only born and raised here, but I have lead a few missions, so I can help you."

She gave him a smile. "Thank you Adam. I don't know what I would do without you as a friend here." She says. She wanted to emphasize that they were friends as much as she could.

Adam sighed, biting his lip, "You know Rowan, I do like you." he confessed her, "Not like a friend though, you are really special."

It made  her heart flutter and it made her feel guilty. "Adam..." she sighed and pulled him out of the cafeteria and somewhere a little more private. "Adam I don't...I really do like you but as nothing more than a friend." She says gently. "I don't want to lose you, I don't want things to be weird, I just want a friend. You're so important to me, even though I've only known you a couple of days and that's really special." She says quietly, pleading with him to understand.

Adam looked at her calmly, shaking his head, "It's not weird, I like you and you'll like me. Everything is really new for you, so I'm sure that you just need to get used to it to know how much you like me."

Her shoulders slumped a little and she let out a quiet sigh. She was afraid that she could come to like him. She also didn't want to cause the trouble that would come with that. At least from what she understood from Kyle*. "Adam please don't. Don't get your hopes up about it. Let's just be friends and then we'll see where it goes. Maybe you'll realize you don't truly like me in that way." She says.

Adam narrowed his eyes at her, "Don't be silly. I know what I feel and I know you like me too. It's obvious, what is so wrong with you admitting that to yourself at least."

She felt a chill run through her and her heart began to pound, but it was out of nervousness more than anything else. "Adam please." She pleads gently. If nothing else she hoped he'd at least humor her and not pursue anything he thought he felt for her.

Adam looked at her fro a moment clenching his jaw, "What? It's true. If you weren't surrounded by every guy around here you would know clearly how you feel about me. It's not like you are going to marry Kyle*."

She frowned, to her dismay her own temper was rising. "I never said anything about marrying Kyle*. But you're right, I'm not planning on marrying him right now. And let's see. Kyle is like a dad, he's nearly as old as mine, so I feel nothing romantic there either. That leaves you and Emery and let's face it I'm sure Emery would care less if I made it back from this mission or not." She says, her own eyes narrowing. This was dangerous and alarms were going off at the back of her mind. She needed to stop.

Adam growled, before his hand forced her against the wall, "Exactly." he snapped, "But you keep chasing after him, I know how you watch him, I know how you keep wanting him to like you but Emery doesn't like anyone, he is engaged to an insane bitch and we both know it." his arm pinned her to the wall, his temper had already broke through as he forced her against the wall tighter, "So why do you keep denying how you feel for me?"

She grunted a little, the force greater than she had anticipated. She felt her own temper only growing...as well as her fear. "I don't want anything more from him than for him to accept me...Adam he's your best friend and I don't want to be between that. So I need him to accept me." She says. "I'm not...I'm not denying what I feel...Adam please...you're hurting me..." she says. Trying to get out of his grasp but to no avail. He was much stronger than her.

Adam glared at her, "What does it matter how he feels. I like you not him." he snapped at her. He looked at every inch of her, "I know you like me."

She clenched her jaw, swallowing back the overwhelming emotions rising up. "That's not...Adam that's not..." she trailed off. She doubted he'd see reason right now and she didn't know how to make this better she remembered very clearly what Emery had said cursed herself for being so stupid. Another chill ran through her as she noticed his gaze and she struggled again. "Adam I know you're upset but please..." she pleads. He was hurting her far more than she had anticipated.

Adam growled, "Upset? You think I'm upset." he snapped, "How would you feel is someone you liked acted like nothing was going on? Like everyone was more important?" he growled before his weight changed he pulled back as a dagger hit the floor between him and Rowan, he turned to see Emery.

Emery sighed, "You need to calm down before you are pulled." Adam didn't respond, he snapped a narrow glare at Rowan before he pulled  his weapons from behind him and started towards Emery. Emery was ready when Adam reached him, his daggers stopping Adam's claws from reaching him. Blow through blow, Emery blocked but he never really attacked.

Rowan fell to the ground when he let go of her. She was shaking too badly to stand up yet. Though she looked over to Emery and Adam. She wished this hadn't happened. She hadn't meant for her conversation with Adam to go in that direction. And now she didn't know what to do, she didn't know how to make them stop before one of them did something they regretted. She shakily got to her feet and watched helplessly. She felt something else swirling g within her. A feeling she wasn't familiar with but one she was sure could help. It had to be magic. She wasn't sure how she knew but she did.

Emery hit the wall as Adam forced him back with his attacked, it was them that he kicked Adam off him, he growled before he moved towards Adam. Adam was really upset and he needed to be down before he could calm down. Emery stopped letting Adam just attack and he started to strike back.

She was growing more anxious as she watched and moved towards them. She didn't even understand what she was doing as she raised her hands slightly, mumbling words she didn't know. A short time after she had somehow put Alec and Emery in their own little separate bubbles. She didn't know how sturdy they were but it seperated the two of them.
