emery nodded, "Try to stay out of trouble." he stated as he moved back into his room. "I can't help you all the time."

She sighed. "I know," she whispers to herself. Was it wrong that she wished he could? Why was it she was attracted to the one person who wanted the least to do with her. What was it that she wanted him to at least smile at her, even if just once.

Emery closed the door and sighed, biting his lip and feeling a little guilty for that, but he wasn't sure why. He brushed it off and got in bed.

Rowan had trouble sleeping much that night and she was almost relieved when morning came. She was up and ready early on and then but her lip as she thought about what Emery and Alec had both said. She looked to the door and then left, goi g to Emery's door and raising her hand to knock. But then she hesitated. He would just be annoyed with her if she asked him to come with her with Alec to breakfast, he'd probably also tell her to deal with it herself. Biting her lip she knocked.

Adam came walking down the hall and smiled when he saw Rowan then sighed when he saw what door she was in front of, "He's already in training." he told her, stopping beside her, "He is usually there around this time, but he goes extra early when he has a mission." he explained then smiled at her, "Come on, if we don't go now, all the good stuff will be gone."

She startled and then looked to him and smiled. "I guess that makes sense. Come on." She says. She moved to walk with him but left plenty of space between them. Would he really hurt her if she told him flat out without danger around?

Adam smirked, as he walked with her, staying nearby just in case. He sighed, "So why were you going to talk to Emery? Maybe I can help?"

She gave him a smile. "No reason," she says. It didn't work tontell him she'd been going to ask him for help with Adam.

Adam sighed as they got to the bottom of the last flight of stairs. He jumped out of thr way, pulling her with him as he felt someone. When he looked it was Emery panting. "Hey. " Emery said turring to them.

"Did you just do what I think you did?" Adam asked a little annoyed.

Emery shrugged, "It was just three flights of stairs. I tried catching you before but obviously you left." He said, motiong them to go.

Adam rolled his eyes  "You should look before jumping, kangaroo. "

"Huh?" Emery asked confused, he never understood things that we're normally social comments like animal name calling. Adam didn't explain as he led Rowan forward.

Rowan ones back a little startled but for some reason she couldn't help laughing. She wasn't sure why. Maybe it was because Emery didn't understand the comment or because this just seemed different than usual for him.

Emery sighed as he placed his hands in his pockets as Adam held Rowan's hand. He walked beside Rowan and looked ahead, "So, why so early?" he asked.

Adam sighed, "We have a mission."

"Not really a reason." he said, "You are always late."

Adam shrugged, "I just want to be n time, I thought that was what you wanted?"

Rowan smiled some and pulled her hand from adam's a little, it wouldn't make her uncomfortable normally but right now she felt like she was just back in high school, except with a guy five years older than her.

Adam eyed her curiously before Emery shrugged, "Yeah, but what I want and what you do don't match, ever."

Adam sighed at him, "Are you ever happy?"

Emery looked at him, shrugging again, "Guess not."

Rowan looked back to him and smirked. "I bet you could be for the right reason." She says. She looked To Adam and smiled some

Adam smirked at her and Emery sighed, rolling his eyes, "Not with my family, we don't have a history of being happy with anything."

Emery shrugged, but Adam was the one that answered, "No he isn't. " he stated, Emery didn't seem surprised by it, "He'll probably never be happy with his family always around."

Rowan raised an eyebrow. "So you're saying he's not allowed to be happy?" She says, there was a very slight edge to her tone. "I don't care who his family is, everyone deserves some kind of happiness at least once in their lives." She says, shrugging and then moving ahead of them. She wasn't sure why she cared so much.

Adam abd Emery looked at each other and Emery sighed annoyed, rolling his eye. He didn't care what she thought he knew what was expected of him and he knew that if he wasn't just right he would be left behind in the worse thought.

Rowan bit her lip as she stepped into the dining hall. She couldn't figure out why it bothered her so much. Maybe because she had been raised so differently than they had been. She sighed as she got in line and then turned to face the two boys. "What do you guys usually prefer for breakfast?" She asks with a smile.

Emery just looked at her, he was already annoyed with her comment, so Adam ignored him. He smiled at her, "Flat cakes are great and so is the fries meat." He said motioning to the various pancake looking food and bacon.

She almost laughed as she looked to what he gestured at, though she stopped herself. She knew they might call food different names here. She grinned. "At home we call those pancakes and that bacon." She says gesturing to each.

Adam tilted his head confused and then smiled, "Pancakes and bacon." He chuckled, "How did you come up with those names?"

She shrugged and laughed. "I didn't. It's what everyone calls them. Sometimes the pancakes are also called flap jacks." She says with a grin. "I don't know the origins of the two names though." She says with a grin.

Adam tilted his head at her and smirked, as he started to get food, Emery did too, without a word. Adam smiled at her, "You know whatever you want to call them, they always taste just as good."
