Kyle* sighed, "I would be more concerned with trying to keep track on Iyana, if I were you. But probably." he said as he stood up, "I have more to do and you have an impossibly powerful Shadow to find. I'll let you know where the next test in, shortly, but before then I suggested you start looking."

Nicoli held in his growl of annoyance and nodded once before turning to go. He wasn’t as mad with Kyle* as he was himself. Because the younger man had been right. That didn’t mean he was pleased about any of this. He did as he was told though and moved to find Iyana. Not sure how he’d find a shadow who was incredibly good at staying hidden.

Devon was reading a book while he waited, there wasn't really much going on, in war there never was. There was just too much to do to fight the good fight. But Kyle* asked him to help and he was ready to.

Davina entered the area where Devon was with Rowan close behind her. She’d wanted to spend more time with the girl. Though after she had asked about healing the bruise, and Rowan refused, they avoided that topic and spoke a out what was to come. “Hello Devon.” She said with a kind smile. Rowan gave him a smile as well, though didn’t say anything at first.

Devon looked up and smirked, getting to his feet, "Davina. I don't recall getting into a fight with a warrior lately." he teased, since that had been his childhood of meeting her. He was always passionate about books and warriors didn't do what they should in his opinion, it got him in a lot of fights which normally he lost.

Davina laughed. “Well I am glad to hear that.” She moved to him, giving him a hug. She had always been fond of Devon as a child. She admired how strongly he stood up for what he loved and that he didn’t have to be a warrior to do it. “It is good to see you again sweetheart. And I am glad you’ve stuck with what you love.” She said.

Devon smiled, nodding as he pulled out of the hug, "Married into it too, My betrothed was a History. She goes on missions but she helps me out a lot when she isn't on a mission." then he glanced to Rowan, "So, it's your granddaughter that Kyle* wanted me to help?"

Davina smiled brightly. “Good for you, congratulations Devon.” She said. And then nodded at his question. “This is Rowan,” Rowan stepped forward, giving Devon a smile.

“It’s nice to meet you.” She said. Davina grinned a little.

“She’s quite special from what I’ve learned. I’m sure any help you can give her though will be much appreciated.” She said.

Devon nodded, "My name is Devon and Kyle* asked me to help you with your placement test. You father barely passed the written part, so I guess that will be why you are coming to me. What positions have you learned so far?"

Rowan smirked a little. “So far I’ve really only had warrior training. Not much else.” She wasn’t sure if she could say anything about her Sight. “I’d love to learn others, it’s just been a little...busy.” She said. “I actually kinda forgot there was a written part.” She added with a sheepish smile.

Devon nodded, before looking to Davina, "I'll help her, don't worry." he said putting the book down, he motioned Rowan to follow, "Come on." he said before leading the way, "Thank you, Davina, I will see you around." he called back.

“See you.” Davina said as she left the library to go check on Helena again.

Rowan smiled a little as she met Devon. “So what kinds of things do Wise and History do?” She asked, genuinely curious. She hadn’t actually worked with anyone yet in either department that she knew of.

Devon smirked, "I am a Wise, we manage the books that tell stories, history, legends, stuff like that." he said, "There are three basic fields you are going to be focused to know, The towers, the positions in the towers and the Darkness." he stopped ad turned to her, "the Darkness is the most important thing. you must never go there without knowing what you are getting yourself into. If you fail any question on the Darkness, your placement will be held back and you will not be allowed to go on any missions, ever." he said before he started to walk again, "There are four main towers but they are not the only towers. There ate a collection of smaller towers, not as big as this one, but just as powerful and just as important."

Rowan nodded, listening intently. She was genuinely curious about it all and wanted to learn as much as she could. “Do we interact with all the towers then? Are the relations with them different for each one?” She asked.

"Just depends, many towers are all on good terms, but there are towers like the one near the residential area, that are not fond of the War Tower."Devon explained before the stopped at a door. "We will start with the Darkness first, and returning to it again before the end." he said before he opened the door, it was Dark in the room, but there were sounds. "This is called the Keep." he said before he flipped his hand in a wave and made a flame on his palm, revealing stairs, "The Darkness holds creatures that are dangerous to all and survive for centuries. Follow me. Don't get close at all, some are able to hurt you without touching you and the barrier for them is not wide." he explained as he slowly started down the stairs.

Rowan nodded her understanding. She’d tried to do a little research of her own on the Darkness but ha I guess help would be incredible. She followed him down the stairs, looking around some But focusing more on her steps. “I read that someone with Kyle’s* gift of Sight can see those creatures even if others can’t.” She said.

Devon smirked, "Yes, in Kyle* line there is usually one each generation. But there are creatures that don't want to be see, like Witches and someone with Sight makes it easier to find them." he stated before they reached the bottom, Iyana smirked, Devon couldn't see her but she stood by the doorway watching them, before noticing Rowan could. She placed a finger to her lip, so she understood not to say anything. Devon sighed, "This way, the first creature is here." he said motioning forwards.

Rowan startled when she saw Iyana and then frowned deeply when the woman told her to stay quiet. She kept an eye on her but for the moment did as was told. She looked ahead to Devon. “What kind of creature?” She asked, curious.

Devon sighed, as they stopped, "A Vampire." he stated as he put a light to the creature, it screeched an awful sound, before it glared at them, "Vampires live in the Darkness and are not really good with light. They are blood suckers, but somehow can entangle magic along the blood stream and drain us of our power."

Iyana smirked, whispering to Rowan, "Wrong, they suck the magic and drink the blood because the magic is an awful taste. They like high places, because they have eyes that can only see far and there feather like pieces of their body, can actually open to teeth." she chuckled, softly, "They are like one big mouth." she teased.

Devon looked at Rowan, "They are sensitive to light and stay in high places because their sight can only see far and pretty much every part of their bodies, other then their wings can open to a mouth." he commented, "this way." he said, moving forward, the creature growling at them, until Iyana glared at it and it whimpered to the corner of it's cage.

Rowan managed to keep her expression unchanged save for thenslught disgust at seeing the vampire, she almost wouldn’t have believed the strange woman had Devon not repeated everything she said - with the exception about the piece about the magic. She followed Devon on to the next one, taking in all of the information from both of them. She glanced over her shoulder ever so slightly to the woman who Devon apparently could not see or hear and then looked forward again. The hair on the nape of her neck standing on end. “And this one?” She asked, the question directed to both of them as they stopped at the next cage.

The creature was faceless, a darkness in place of it's face, It was in black and seem to levitated. Iyana grin as she and Dveon said "Reaper" together, Iyana was excited, "They trap your soul in place and force you to separate from it. Then they devour it, killing you instantly, and you never notice." Iyana explained with a smile.

"You have to be careful with that, the devour souls and by the time you know they have you, you are already died. They are known for being the keepers of the dead."

Iyana smirked, "You will need soul training for that, and you will have to be very careful before you can get that."

Devon sighed, "Always good to have someone that had magic in souls, because of them."

She glanced once more to Iyana out of the corner of her eye and then she looked back to the reaper. “And how does once receive that kind of training?” She asked. “Can someone who has it protect anyone else with them?”

Devon nodded, "Those trained in soul magic are always on the team that go into Darkness. The training is a special training, Warrior, Spys, Healers, even Sciences have some training in soul magic, but to be at the level to handle a reaper you have to make a special request with the Guardian of the tower. Soul magic is powerful and dangerous to use against anyone, so there is a lot of careful thought and considerations going into being able to have soul magic."

Iyana smirked, "The Guardian actually uses soul magic on you to take your soul and gives you a test. No morals, no justice, just cold hearted decisions and that is just to keep you busy until teh Guardian can test your soul." she advised.

Devon sighed, "You shouldn't worry about that just yet, you will probably never need to go into the Darkness and there will be someone with you if you do."

Rowan listened closely to both of them and then nodded her understanding. “Well I suppose that is good to know for now.” She said. She motioned to the next cage. This place made her uneasy and yet...a part of her didn’t think it was making her as uneasy as it should. “In there?” She asked as they walked forward.

Devon looked at the shadow of the four legged creature before he lead her towards the cage, it snapped and growled, before it started to charge the cage, to get to them. "Werewolf." Iyana said bored, "Silly dog thing, it just wants to kill and eat you. Must not have been feed yet." she said.

Devon sighed, "This is a werewolf, they are just blood thirsty creatures that want to kill everything they can. Not really hard to fight, for a warrior. But when they get a master, you should be warned, they become a lot stronger."
