Fantasy Two Worlds Collide

Nicoli laughed a little. "They may but I don't think it would work well. Besides, she's my daughter, I don't plan to hurt her again."

Rowan looked up to him in surprise, more so because it was probably the kindest he had ever sounded when speaking to her and it had caught her off guard. It took her a moment to fully process everything he was saying. "It doesn't matter that they aren't a couple technically?" She asked him. No one had ever talked to her about the family processes, she was glad to hear that there could have been something for her to still have a family before he father had been brought back. She also hadn't processed that it meant Kyle* was no longer her betrothed until he had mentioned it.

Helena smirked, "As her blood mother, I refuse to allow you the chance." she teased.

Emery sighed, "He married a human, she doesn't really count so to the register he had a daughter, with no mother because she can't be on the register." he pointed out, then sighed, "An orphan can claim a blodd parent or not, it is their choice and that is law. So no, they don't have to be married they just have to share blood with the child."

Nicoli grinned at her. "Mama bear you are." He said, gently brushing back some of her hair.

"I didn't know that." She whispered, just then noticing that his hands were still on her shoulders, though she didn't want to tell him, she liked how it felt. "I need to do that, but I am not dropping this Emery, I am coming to help you and Brendan. I owe that to both of you. Please just let me keep helping Emery. W-would you come with me to the registry?" She asked him, her tone far gentler than it had been. She had a pretty good feeling she knew how he was going to answer, but she had to ask, she wanted him around her a little longer.

Helena smirked, "I have to love someone like a daughter, she is the perfect one."

Emery sighed, as he pulled back, "Fine." he said, as he he started to walk, "But not right now, you said we have until tomorrow right, we can finish this now and go to the register before tomorrow comes."

Nicoli smiled and kissed her forehead. "She would be lucky to have you as a mother. She's lucky...we're both lucky that you're in our lives." He said.

Rowan smiled brightly and nodded, resisting every urge in her body to hug him as she moved quickly to catch up with him. She walked right beside him, her arm brushing against his periodically as they walked. "Thank you Emery." She said quietly.

Helena smirked, "As long as I can be, I will be." she promised.

Emery sighed, "Just don't let it go to your head. Helena is one of the best Sciences in the Shadow World, any way to keep her in this tower is worth the headache." he stated.

Nicoli smiled at her and gently ran his fingers through her hair. "That had better be a long time Helena." He said gently.

Rowan smiled, but bit the inside of her cheek to try to hide it. "Then I'll do what I can to make sure she can stay in this tower where she is needed adn wanted." She assured him.

Helena smiled, "If you didn't kill me, I don't think anything can. Besides, I should be more worried about you not being there." she teased, and then sighed, "I love you, Nicoli, And I can't say it enough, because I love you too much for words."

Emery smirked guess that is the reason why I save you so much." he stated.

Nicoli gave her a small, sad smile. "I love you too Helena, that never changed." He said. It had just been a different kind of love than what he'd felt for his Wife

Rowan giggled a little. "That was almost a smile." She said. "You still owe me one eventually. Maybe once we know Helena will get to stay here, you'll give me a real one? Of course I don't mind working harder for one." She said, lightly bumping his shoulder with hers.

Helena smiled, "Will you stay with me? For the night, will you stay with me?" she asked him.

Emery glanced towards her, "Hurry up." he said, but he was noticing how she was starting to grow on him and he wasn't sure if that annoyed him, or the fact that it haven't taken her so long to do it.

"Of course I will. I'm not going to leave your side." He promised her.

Rowan smiled a little but nodded, picking up her pace to match his as they walked to meet with Brendan. She was glad he'd let her come, though she would have come anyway, but she so badly wanted him to like her at least a little bit.

Helena smirked as she moved slightly so he could lay with her, "Then lay with me, just until I fall asleep." she asked.

Brendon was waited by a vent, in the weapons area, Emery got there and sighed, "What happened?"

"I just caught him for a second." Brendon stated as he turned to Emery and was surprised to see Rowan, "How was the test? I heard you found out you have two mothers."

Nicoli smiled a little but carefully got into the bed beside her. "I can stay the whole night if you want me to." He assured her. He carefully wrapped his arms around her as he tried to make it so they were both comfortable.

Rowan smirked a little. "I did find that out...it's weird, I'm still trying to get used to that. I have a couple more tests to do, but today was successful." She said. She gestured towards the vent. "How long ago did you see him?" She asked. She would need to keep them away from Eric.

Helena smirked as she cuddled against him, "I would love if you did." she assured him.

Brendon sighed, "A few minutes, but I found him a while back, I just followed the trail here." he motioned to the vent before he sighed, "But that was a bit ago, he shodul have popped up by now." he pointed out, "Did you bring it?"

Emery nodded as he took out the double blades and handed one to Brendon. "Hard to forget them." he stated.

Brendon nodded, "Okay. Technically they shoudl find Eric again. They were buried with him and he had them when we captured him, so they still have him as an owner." he stated as he took out a vile, he poured some on the blade he had and then gave it to Emery to do the same.

Nicoli smiled, gently brushing his fingers through her hair. "I will be here with you until I can't be." He promised her. "You comfortable enough?" He asked.

Rowan felt a little spike of panic as she watched them. "What will that do? Make something happen as you get closer to Eric?" She asked. Her voice steady as she spoke, listening to what they had to say and trying to figure out how she was going to stop it from working.

Helena smirked, nodding, "Very." She said, she was silent for a bit before she sighed, "Nicoli. When I'm gone, you will spend time with Rowan, right? I'm sure she misses her mother and she'll want to mourn her with her father." She looked up at him, "You'll help each other with that, while I'm gone?"

Brendon nodded, "Something like that. The potion will act as a magnet, forcing the weapons to return to their master. We just have to follow them."

Emery sighed, "They are going to lead us right to him."

Nicoli looked to her but then nodded. “Yeah, if she’ll let me.” He said quietly. “I will help her how I can. I will be with her.” He said.

“Amd either he’s skilled enough or it’s weak enough that they don’t lead you in such a way for the blades to stab him?” She asked, eyeing the potion they were putting on the blades. “And there’s nothing that will interfere?”

Helena smirked, "Then I wouldn't give her a choice." she looked at him, "She is your daughter and you know that means she will be stubborn."

Brendon looked at Emery and they looked at her, "Eric is skilled enough to catch his blades without seeing them. And there will be no way for the blades to be in the way." Brendon assured her.

Nicoli chuckled. “I’d never notice before how like me she was. She’s stubborn and has a temper, and as far as I’ve been able to tell she’s charmed quite a few people here. Though unlike me none of that was on purpose.” He said.

Rowan nodded. “Good, so nothing can stop the blades once they have that potion.” She said as if to reassure herself but really trying to get more information. She didn’t know how to stop this from working and she was quickly trying to come up with something.

Helena smirked, "And I like to think that has more to do with her mother, since you charming everyone is just a silly thing."

Brendon sighed, shaking his head, "Nope." he said as he let the blade go and left them as they flow off.

Nicoli smiled. “Hey it worked.” He said in playful defensiveness. “But yeah, both she and her mother just seemed to draw people to them.” He added.

Rowan nodded a little. She wasn’t sure who was best to follow, but then decided between the two men it would be worse for Emery to catch Eric than Brendon. Though in theory both blades would be going to the same spot. She moved to follow with them, hoping there would be just enough time for Eric to catch the blades and disappear again.

Helena smirked, "Even those charmers that try to pull people to them." she teased, even though deep down that broke her heart to remember.

Emery ran to follow teh ribbon of magic behind the blades, Brendon beside him as he did and they raced to catch up to them, dodging people and avoiding corners.

Nicoli smiled a little and nodded. “You were like that too if I remember. But you had your big lab to hide in, I think J was the only one I felt I genuinely had to worry about with you.” He said.

Rowan found it surprisingly easy to keep up with them, her training and being constantly on the move starting to help. As well as her always running back in the human world. She looked ahead and thought she could tell where the blades might be going. Glancing to the side periodically she saw a Hall way that would get ahead of where the blades ere going. Chancing it, She veered off from the other two. Hoping she would be right. She picked up her pace. If she was it would give her a minute at most to warn Eric.

Helena smirked, "Well, he was just my friend and a very good one that just happened to like to make you jealous." she chuckled, "And I have to agree with that, because it amused me too."

Eric sighed, when he looked around, he was in the east hall where Helena had her lab and he sat down to catch his breath.

“You’re terrible.” Nicoli pouted playfully. “I’m glad you could enjoy yourself at my expense.” He added, lightly tapping her nose and then smiling.

Rowan hadn’t expected to run almost right into Eric. She skidded to a stop, relieved she had taken the route she had to find him. “They have a tracking potion on your shadow weapon.” She said quickly, panting and trying to catch her breath. “How can I stop it?” She asked, wondering what he already knew.
