Rowan smiled some. "Still sounds like all you care about is keeping one of the best around." Rowan pointed out, raising an eyebrow as if challenging him to prove her wrong. "Are you saying you might actually care about me...even just a little bit?" She goaded on, smiling slightly, though she would love to have a real answer from him.

Emery sighed, glaring at her, "Will you just go in already? Helena doesn't have the time for you to try and get me to say something, just because you want me to. Or are you going to back out, just because it's obvious that your father might not want your human mother back when he has Helena?"

Rowan's smile fell but she didn't say anything more as she turned to go sign the papers. But then she hesitated. "What do you mean he won't want her back? My mother is dead." Rowan said, trying to keep her voice even as she signed where the registrar told her to just to be able to get the documents. What did he know, or did he just phrase it that way.

Emery looked at her, "Well, if you had come sooner, your father would not want to be with your mother anymore. So, with Helena now, he will not mourn a woman he doesn't care for as much anymore." he stated, before he looked at her, "You have to take these in the room. Pretty sure you'll find it without me." he said motioning to the door.

"Yeah, pretty sure I will." Rowan muttered. She took what she was handed and started to the other room. "I hope you'll still be here when I get out." She said before then disappearing into the room to sign what she needed to and complete the paper work she needed to. It didn't take long, but longer than she thought it would. She had hesitated only a little, but if she was being completely honest with herself, she didn't believe her mother could be brought back, as much as she wanted her to be. She swallowed hard to fight back the feeling of sadness that rose up within her at that thought. She finished what she needed to and then left the room, wondering if Emery would still be around.

The Register was going through the shelf when she walked in. She smirked, "I was wondering if you would show up." she said as she moved to grab a book, as she got it she turned to Rowan, "Three parents, very unusual, but I am sure very exciting, if you come to claim them both. Or if you come to deny the?" she reached her hand out, "What have you come for? How can I help?"

Rowan gave the woman a smile. "I came to claim Helena. I didn't think I needed to claim my father?" She said, not entirely sure as she handed over the paperwork she'd been given to do.

She smirked, as she took the papers, "You don't." she said as she tossed the papers behind her, the bursted into flames and the fire danced over head. She opened the book, "Now, let's see. Hector, Sahara, Kyle...ah, here, Helena." she said as she moved to her desk and sat down. She looked at Rowan, "Are you sure that you want this? It can't be undone, after I have done this." She smirked, "Are you actually willing to be the tower's Guardian's niece instead of his daughter in law?"

Rowan hesitated, she knew this, but for some reason the woman saying it made it seem more real. "I...yes...I mean technically I couldn't be Kyle's* betrothed anymore anyway right? Whether I claim Helena or not, since I am reltated to her by blood then I can't be Kyle's* betrothed right?" She asked.

She smirked, shrugging, "Perhaps. If you wanted to, you could. Of course, that would mean you are going to chance death." she smiled even more, "Which matters to you? Helena, your father's betrothed or Kyle*, your betrothed. Because if you do this, I will only be allowed to give them so much time to finish their betrothed. Otherwise, I will have to place a Judge on them. Your choice, Helena can be claimed by you as mother and must complete her betrothed with Nicoli, or not?"

Rowan stilled and frowned a little. "No one said anything about them having to complete the betrothal process." Rowan said, even more confused than she had been before. "I-I was told that it didn't matter that they weren't betrothed. A-and Kyle* said there was something we could do to stop the betrothal process between our families." She said, not really understanding the whole thing.

She smiled, "True. To claim your parents they don't have to have complete the betrothed, but after that, they would. After all, a child born outside of a betrothed is in danger of having two betrothed and that is not the way this works." she sighed, "But if that is a deal breaker, I can be rid of these papers and you may go." she assured Rowan, "Unless they complete the Unbinding before my time limit, but if I recall, Helena and Nicoli were very much in love and I imagine without a human between them, that love will only grow."

Rowan frowned even more. "I...I didn't tell them that I was doing this, they have no idea what is coming, My birth mother hasn't even been buried yet. I..." She hesitated a moment and looked to the woman a little lost. "Can I come back to finish it after I talk to them?" She asked.

She smirked, "I don't think that is wise." she sighed, as she looked at the fire dancing as he started to fade, "These flames can only last as long as I have explained, I won't be able to start a new one again." she told Rowan, and then sighed as she stood up, moving towards Rowan, the book she left on the desk, "This is a hard choice. So, I will make this easy. Who do you love? Your mother or Helena? I am sure Nicoli loves them both, but who you love will decided what to do with the flames. But hurry, they are fading."

Rowan shook her head. "I love my mother!" She exclaimed, feeling so uncertain and frustrated and a little emotionally overwhelmed. She hated that the most, Emery's words replaying in her head. She didn't want to keep appearing weak. "I hardly know Helena, but I like her and I think I could come to love her like a mother. But my mother...my dead mother is who I love because she is who raised me." She said.

She smiled, "There you go." she said as she moved back to the book, "You may go." she said, as she closed the book, "Nicoli and Helena's families will remain apart and all will be fine. " she sat down, "The flames will extinguish themselves." she said as she moved to take the book back to the shelf. "We will meet again."

Rowan looked to the now gone documents and then to the woman. "I...I...What do you mean?" She asked, feeling uncertain.

She smiled, "When you complete your betrothed, you will have to come to register the union." she grinned, "I will see you then." she said as she moved to get another book, "You may go." she said as she started to look through the book and going to her desk, ignoring Rowan.

Rowan turned and left. She felt an odd sense of failure, and disappointment in herself. She had not thought that through or done the proper research about what would be required. She angrily wiped away a tear as she left the room and returned to where she had left Emery. She was mad at herself for how everything was going.

"It didn't work." Rowan said, wiping more furiously at her face to try to get rid of any evidence of tears. She walked passed Emery to leave the library. "I'm sorry, you won't be getting to keep your amazing Science right now after all. I'm sorry." She said, her anger directed more at herself than him, though some of it was directed at him. She wanted him to comfort her, but she assumed he'd have some snappy comment about her being to human or something.

Emery sighed, "Of course not." he snapped, and then rolled his eyes, "Might as well get to Brendon, crying isn't going to get anyone anywhere and we already lost Helena, might as well not lose my brother too." he said as he moved to led the way out of the library.

"Don't you think I know that." She snapped. "I tried, okay. I did what I could." She said as she followed him. She let out a deep sigh as they reached their destination. "Emery every once in a while it's okay to show you actually care for people. I guess though for now all I can be useful for it promising you I will get your brother back to you. And I promise I will." She said, walking past him as they got to where Brendon was.

Emery glared at her, "The same could be said to you." He snapped, as he stopped, "I need to get back to my duty. Wait for Brendon and finish yours." He growled annoyed before he walked away.

She frowned at his comment, but didn’t say anything more as she watched him walk away. She sighed deeply but then returned to her task. She needed to remember to grab food for Eric too once she was done.
