[IceQueen]

Yui felt the silence, almost like she was being poked with a thousand needles, the silence seeping into her skin. Somehow, it was enjoyable though. Clearing her throat, she smiled. "You did good. You probably missed it but she said hi and waved." Yui said, taking another bite with her chopsticks, resting them against her lips.


"You could have done a lot worse than that." She said.

 

[Joker]

Shou smiled in relief, it was as if he was already full from what she had said. He placed his bento on the ground and just sat there smiling like a buffoon. He then looked at her and continued the conversation, " W-well.. at least i tried, anyways! What's lesson two sensei ? " he asks her with a very determined look in his face.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui smiled standing up and pointing at him with her chopsticks. "Do not be fooled you padawan, for lesson two is harder then the first!" She cried, her hair whipping around in a strong gust that came by. She grinned down at him, pausing for dramatic effect. "Lesson two, is to actually talk to her." She said, knowing he would most likely refuse as it was a scary concept.

 

[Joker]

His eyes widen at the though of talking to her, to actually have a conversation with her. But, if he was able to greet her then he must be able to talk to her. At least that's what he thought. In talking, the topic affects the mood of the conversation. If they're talking about something only one of them gets, then it would get awkward for the other. What would he stay and talk with her ? He doesn't know, but he almost forgot he had a secret weapon beside him.


" W-w-hat kind of topic do you girls normally talk about ? " he asks her.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui slapped her face, her palm leaving a red mark. "Arrgggg." She moaned, sliding her hand down her face. "We normally talk about boys, but going down that track will most likely get you nowhere. But I must warn you now. The entire male student population is out to get Mei, so you have to beat all of them." She said.

 

[Joker]

" A-all of them ? " he looks up at her not sure how to answer that. But since he has already made his first move, why back down now. Shou is determined to call Mei his own. He then offers Yui his bento as thanks for the other day and for not telling her that he is stalking Mei. " H-here, you can have it. It's a thank you "

 

[IceQueen]

Yui looked at him for a moment, then let a smile creep to her face as she took the box. "Thanks~" She said, sitting down and continuing to chow down on food. She loved food, and had a good metabolism, which was useful if you are addicted to sweets. "And, you will have me there when you talk for the first time. But after a while, if things go smoothly, then you will be on your own." She said.

 

[Joker]

He nods at her as he just stares off at a distance. If things go smoothly from now on, then it will be a matter of time for him and Mei to be together. Shou then smiled again, chuckling weirdly as to notice that there was a girl beside him. But then, his thoughts went back to what he would say to her. And then he thought, might as well wish myself a good luck.


" Shouu are you here ?" Taka called out as he opened the door on the roof. Taka then spots Shou sitting besides Yui and grabs him by the collar. " What's the meaning of this Shou, you cheating on Mei already !? " he gets angry a bit as Shou quickly shook his head. And Taka turning to Yui, " Are you really helping my best friend !? " he asked her suspiciously and Shou tries to calm him down and laughing nervously.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui laughed, placing her chopsticks next to the bento and standing up. "Relax, I came up here to find him and teach a second lesson. Besides, Mei had to call a baseball team meeting today at lunch so I was left alone. Figured if they saw me hanging with you, you could get more street cred and be good with the ladies." She joked.


Smiling, she sat down and patted the spot next to her. "Come on, don't be shy~" She said.

 

[Joker]

" Hmph ! " Taka huffed as he sat beside Shou instead and crossing his arms as he looked away from Yui. Shou laughed nervously at Taka's hostility towards Yui and wonder why he is acting like a little boy. It must've been when Yui called us 'horrible with women' that made Taka angry, He wasn't sure at least.


But besides all of that, he enjoyed the company of his friends up on the roof, if Yui considers herself as Shou's friend. The cool breeze of the air and the warmth of the sunlight was making this day pretty good. Shou then stood up from his seat and looked over the fence to where he could see the Baseball court from here. When someone was near the bushes, the place where he would stalk Mei. He would come up here and stalk her from this farm instead. He just laughed and the bell began to rang.


" That's afternoon classes, I'll pass by your classroom later Yui-sensei, after class that is. There's going to be a club activity after class and I'm going to try and ask the Manager if I could join the Baseball Club " he informs her as he took his Bento and stood up and Taka following his lead. He then bowed her thanks but Taka didn't follow that one and lead the way as Shou just followed him.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui smiled, something inside of her going "oh no.". She brushed it off and nodded. "But be prepared, the manager isn't easy on new recruits." She said, winking. She smiled and walked to the stairs. Once the door was shut behind her, she let the smile drop, sighing. She grimaced at the ground.


"Now I hope you just don't crash and burn." She mumbled, continuing to class.


The rest of the day passed like any other. Simple lessons, meaning nap time for Yui. Her sleep was never peaceful, which was probably why she was always tired. Her dreams where clogged with nightmares about her past, images, screams. She jolted up, crying out in the middle of class. The entire class stared at her, causing her to flush. "I need a moment." She said to the teacher, walking hastily to the door and out to the roof. She shut the door behind her and crumpled to the floor of the roof, her tears flowing freely.


'I need to get over this.'


'What's done is done.'


She though, wiping her eyes and sitting in silence for a few more minutes.

 

[Joker]

Times passed by as the Class bell rings, dismissing the final class for all levels. Shou packed his bag and waved Taka good bye as so did he. He then walked towards the baseball court as he stood near a streetlight looking over at the waiting shed to see if there was any member. He was too shy to go out there alone since he doesn't know anybody in the baseball club. He waited for Yui to appear and help him out again as he twiddled with his thumbs.


" Oh.. where are they ? " he muttered to himself as he waited.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui walked out of class with Mei, both of us chatting happily together. She said she was on her way to baseball practice. She smiled and waved, leaning on the fence near the field. She spotted Shou over a ways and pushed off the fence, walking towards him. She looked back at Mei for a second, who was passing a refreshment to the captain with a smile. Yui sighed, walking towards him and standing in front of him.


"Oi! If you want to join the team, ask Mei. Need my help?" She asked.

 

[Joker]

" S-s-sure ! " he says as he walks towards her and towards the baseball field. He hasn't been this nervous for a long time now and as for his athletic skills, it wasn't his forte. He can barely run 50 meters on a field and almost faint between 35-40 meters. He walks shyly towards Mei, and gives her his best smile which now looked funny.


" I-I want to join the club ! " He announced.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei was watching practice, especially the captain. She hadn't told anyone yet, but she had a major crush on him. His blond hair, blue eyes, sweet smile. It gave her shivers. She was shaken out of her thoughts by a voice to her left. Turning her head, she gave a smile to the boy from earlier. "Oh hey, it's you. I didn't get a chance to say hi back this morning, so hello!" She said waving. "And as for joining the team, sure! Just fill out the forms and give them to me by next week!" She said.

 

[Joker]

He felt like he was in paradise, she was actually talking with him and he just stood there smiling before he snooped back to reality. He then took the form and nodded, " I-I-I'll fill it out right here ! " he says as he sits down on one of the benches and searches his bag for a ballpen or something to write with at least.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei smiled, taking out a pen from her pocket and passing it to him. "Here you go." She said with a smile, waiting for him. She secretly turned to look back at Jason, mesmerized in his perfection. She tried not to drool as he pulled up his shirt to wipe sweat from his brow.

Yui sighed, seeing her friends eyes from afar. They where glued to Jason. She sighed, looking down. She was starting to feel it was hopeless for him.

 

[Joker]

" T-t-thanks ! " he smiled and took the pen as he start to write down all the requirements needed on the form. He didn't realize how Mei was all over this guy, he was so focused on the form that he mostly ignored everyone there. But smiling to himself that everything is going to be just fine. Shou has never felt this happy in a long time now.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei smiled, her eyes hanging off of every moment of his. The only time she looked away was to grab the packet from him. She smiled and passed him a jersy, smiling. "Your first practice is tomorrow." She said, taking a swig of her water, seeing as it was really hot outside. She smiled wiping her forehead of sweat.

 

[Joker]

Shou accepts the Jersey and smiles brightly. This was his first time being in a club and most of all, to be together with Mei. He turned towards Yui and gave her a thumbs up. He was feeling like on top of the world. He just sat there looking at his new club members do their thing on the field. He does not have a single idea about baseball, but since he loves to read books he might as well start reading a thing or two about baseball. He is going to impress Mei into liking him.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui gave a thumbs up, watching him. His eyes where full of hope, gleaming bright. Yui sighed. This wasn't going to last, and she knew it. She wasn't sure how much longer she could lie to him. She turned around, not being able to see him anymore without frowning. She felt her feet trudge out the gate and towards her house. She just really hoped that he would see that her heart belonged to another. She had talked to Jason earlier while she was in class.


"Hey! Jason. How's it going."


Jason smiled. "Things are going great. I was actually planning something big for tomorrow."


"Hmm?" Yui asked suspiciously. "What did you have in mind?"


"Well, I was going to ask Mei on a date."


Yui's enthusiasm shattered, but she kept up her smile, trying to seem as if nothing was wrong.


"That's great! I am sure she will say yes." She said with a sad smile. "I got to go." She said, heading for the door and waving at him as she left.


Yui sighed, feeling her heart sink inside her. Shou was going to be crushed.

 

[Joker]

Shou headed home after the practice was over. It felt like forever walking home, but he didn't mind. Sooner or later his dreams would be coming true about being together with Mei. He then arrived as he opened the door to his house. " Im home. " He greeted his mom in the house as she just replied with a, " Welcome back dear ". He just gave a bright smile towards his mother and she just looked confused. In a long time, Shou had never smiled as bright as that when coming back home.


" Did something good happen at school today Shou ? " She asks, curious of what made her son give out such a smile. Shou, who was humming while helping with the dishes, nodded and smiled even more.


" Yeah mom, I feel like a million dollars " he replied as his mom just laughed.


" Well, you better be since you'll be paying for your College soon " she replied as Shou laughed nervously. He never had this kind of conversation with his mom for a long time. He misses it. After Dinner, he then walked up to his room and got ready for bed.

Yui sighed, slamming her fist on her alarm clock. Only to realize that her alarm wasn't ringing. She slowly looked at the clock, something inside her dreading what was to come.


7:45


School starts in 15 minutes.


"SHIITT!" Yui yelled, throwing the covers off her as fast as possible. She may have done the fastest morning routine in the history of the universe. She toasted a piece of toast, shoved it in her mouth and ran out the door, anime style. "I AM LATE!" She yelled, running towards her school and making her way thought the gate.

 

[Joker]

Waking up pretty early and in a good mood. Shou does what he does regularly early in the morning. Taking a bath, eating breakfast and Et cetera. He then walked towards school as he got in his classroom with a big smile in his face. And Taka gave him a confused look as well. " What's with the smile ? Kinda creepy if you ask me, Shou. " Taka said as Shou just shrugged and Taka sighing.


" Shou, you should be careful dude, who knows what will happen between you and Mei. You two might even not get to be together. " he informs him as Shou just laughs it off. He knows that he has made progress and anything can happen. He is very confident that he can make Mei to like him.

 

[IceQueen]

Yui darted pass the two lower classmen, causing papers to scatter as she ran past. She hit Taka on the way and shouted "Sorry!" as she darted though the halls, dashing into class at the last second. She huffed, taking her seat and passing out on her desk. "Uhhhh...."" She moaned, her body exhausted from running a mile to school.
