So, few notes.
I already declined someone earlier from using something like 'Charm' because it can fall under 'mind control.' It's an ability that can only work with the permission of the player the PC would use it on and most cases it's something that is rejected.
'Finding' would be additionally restricted to having to have at least handled the item once, otherwise it defeats the entire purpose of treasure hunting if you have someone who has the equivalent of an MMORPG autopilot provider. So for this they'd have to know the person personally, have held or touched that particular items at least once, or have been to a location previously.
You may also wish to consider it being a fade over time effect, meaning the less you have been to a place, seen a person, or touched an item the more difficult it is to locate because the magic 'trail' is no longer fresh.
