I'll let you get the effects of the Charm. Go ahead and roll the extra dice.

What can I say? I'm greedy, and want my loot!

Obviously, there is stuff here to be shared. I don't want to call dibs before we see what we have.
But your greedy! Dont have to share!

We do need to Appraise the stuff though. To see if the trinkets might be useful as well.

I might be greedy, but it is the fair thing to do to share. Besides, I can't use all this stuff myself. It only makes sense to share the wealth.
Indeed. Best to see things in the hands of those who can make the most use of it.

Might not be much there I can make use of. But Bard can probably get some pretty good deals should we need to spend the money.

At least you have some successes on that Lore roll. Perhaps that will be enough to identify at least the basics of this stuff.

A hearthstone? Those usually turn to inert rock or shatter when the one they are attuned to dies or for whatever reason cancels the attunement, whereafter the manse that birthed it can make a new one.

So this one would be either special in function or still attuned to someone else, I believe.

I thought that the hearthstones were just a by product of the manse that made them, and would be able to be claimed by someone new.

Well, for this game at least, I am going to say that stones can be used by other Exalts as you come across them. This will save you from having to travel across Creation to try and attune yourselves to a manse to get the effects of the stones.

Sweet. Is there any way for us to determine what this stone does without putting it on and attuning it?

It is possible, but it will take someone with a higher Int + Lore roll. Or you can put it on and see.

It's usually not so much a byproduct, but more of a physical manifestation of the bond between an exalt and his attuned Manse. It allows him to draw essence from its dragon lines and helps him in many cases control its inner workings.

But I see the point you make that this is convenient.

In 3e Hearthstones need not be connected to a Manse at all. Some are made in a Manse, but aren't even impacted by the destruction of the Manse that created them. In all cases, as far as I can tell the stone itself can be freely traded and used by anyone, but if it is linked to a Manse, only the one attuned to the Manse respires the extra motes when they socket it in one of their artifacts.
