Savina simply nodded "Um, thank you," She watched as he changed hands, going into somewhat the same stance as before only mirrored. She took her stance again, shifting a bit to side as she observed his stance and thrusted at him again, this time swinging from above. While the first attack she used would usually knock an opponent back to get them off balance this one usually made them trip forward, still locking them off balance, but bringing them closer for another attack usually one of the close range variety. Again she swings at the baton aggressively and hard as she attempted to knock the botan away again.

Due to the fact that they had both swung overhead, the batons would clash, and Sesler would drag his left foot and pivot on the right, allowing her baton to go past the resistance of his. From his newfound stance, he'd lightly poke at the side of the abdomen, under the ribs. He'd step back in a backpedaling motion, resuming the crouch he had started with. Forming his free hand into a straight chop, he'd approach a bit more slowly the second time around.

As her baton starts to move past the resistance of his, Savina opens her free hand briefly, for a moment her nails might have seemed to grow slightly until he lightly poked her in the abdomen under the ribs and she closed her hand, backing off for a moment as he took a new stance, taking a stance of her own. However; as she opened her hand it would appear normal. For a moment instinct bad taken over and she was about to make an extra attack more than necessary for the exercise, however; strangely the poke had somehow reminded her not to. "I believe I went out of turn, I apologize,"

He'd drop the baton where he stood, saying-

"There is no turn in swordfighting. Very good."

He looked to the newcomer, walking back to the cleared area in front of the dummies. Turning to the rest of the class, he'd begin to speak, pacing back and forth as he did so.

"What you have seen is a glimpse of what we will be learning this year. There are multiple fields of self defense, from hand-to-hand, blades, the multilayered field of magical warding, and even mental defense. This is not meant to be simply entertainment. It is meant to better your knowledge and possibly make you a bit more valuable to the school. Whether you become an Enforcer or not, being able to defend yourself is vital."

"In earlier times, I would've done a run through the woods along our outskirts so that not only do you see hostile evils at work, but learn the separation and use of fear and adrenaline. You will learn the black, white, and grey of justice, and will be disciplined to fight the correct way, not like some hoodlum brawler."

"As for our newcomer, see me when class is over. Now, as for the rest of you, call me Sesler, S, Ses, or...Mr. Trenchcoat. Whatever suits you. Now, to begin, you want to take the stance similar to mine. Have both of your toes facing the same direction at a forty-five degree angle, and raise your shoulder to cover your jaw. Put the hand you write with on your cheek, and the non-dominant in front of your face."

Robin entered with this "newcomer", taking mental note and copying what he was doing. She was more than excited after hearing what they would be learning.

Savina assumed that now she should take her place back in line so she did. She listened and observed the professor as he taught them the stance he said they should take. After he told them what they should do, she tried her best to mirror his instructions and take the stance herself.

Emmett was taken aback by Mr. Sesler's clear lack of caring towards his jaunt, usually it sparked some sort of wounded reaction and made for a good laugh. This Ses fellow is a pretty cool guy, and apparently he doesn't have time for any jokes. Maybe I made a mistake by testing the waters early on, I'm a bit worried at what may transpire after class. Hopefully it will be simple sparring that would've taken too much actual class time.

Emmett silently regarded the loli blonde that made her way to class a little late, just as he did. He was aching to say something flirtatious, but he was intimidated by the serious nature of Mr. Trenchcoat and decided that it was best not to speak out of turn, which was a hard decision as he was used to making trouble for his teachers. Mr. Trenchcoat just gave him that don't F with me vibe that Emmett made certain to acknowledge by lending him his respect, a luxury he planned not to afford to his other teachers.

He listened to the professor and made a valiant, yet shoddy effort at mimicking the stance.

He'd begin to pace the room, nudging the position of hands and correcting how the angle of feet were faced. He'd stop at the newcomer, and spoke, in the same, deeply hardened voice.

"What's your name? I didn't see you at orientation."

The stance itself wasn't too bad. The common flaws; hand placement, feet angled, the overly-tensed calf muscles. All tend to be the norm when accepting this stance.

Emmett looked up at Mr. Trenchcoat's stern eyes and did his best not to object at being corrected. "Well Sir, my name's Emmett Lee Blaine, but you can call me Em if you'd prefer."

Emmett glanced around the courtyard and made affirmative eye contact with his classmates to convey the same message.

"Ah, Em, I see. You can call me Sesler. Now, if you-" and he'd point a finger to the girl on Emmett's left.

"-And her, could tuck your elbows closer to your body, the stance will feel a bit more balanced and you won't be as easy to push over. Think of a tower."

Speaking louder, to the rest of the class, he'd add on.

"This is a mortals' pure boxing stance. With a bit of Trini work, I've made it so that the same posture is great for no-shield swordfighting. If you would equip a baton in the hand that is upon your cheek and proceed to hold it upright at hip level, I will show the different defensive position any blade of any length can do."

Savina takes her stance and allows the proper adjustments to be made, once the flaws in her stance was fixed, she then picked up the baton with the hand on her cheek and kept the stance as she waited for further instructions on the defensive stance.

"Now, if you would cross the baton across your chest, from the hip to shoulder, your sideways posture allows you to not only guard your torso, but your sides and head can be protected my a mere movement of the hand."

Looking to the descending sun, he'd look to each of the students inquisitively, with the stare that'd come off rude if not for the fact that he was a Trini, and therefore tends to do so anyway. He would then speak again, saying-

"Tomorrow begins the actual drills. Fair warning; you might hate me afterwards. Both due to my attitude and the mortal association with exertion and the operator. Dismissed."

He'd walk back to the flattened green, putting on the duster once more, covering the sword underneath.

"Oh, and you will not be able to find me on the weekend. I have duties to attend to."

Asa was in her classroom, even though classes didn't start for another 30 minutes, but she was setting up for her class. The desk were all dusted and set in neat rows, just how she liked it. A neat classroom is a classroom ready to learn in. The bookshelves had been reorganized, and the lamps were light. Once everything was tidy, she sat behind her desk, ready to begin.

Savina takes the baton and places in the position Sesler told them they should when suddenly he dismissed the class so she decided to put the baton down, listening to the rest of his of what he had to say before started to move on to her next class when she turned around out of curiosity "Duties?"

Taylor had been roaming the halls for most of the day. He had watched each of the classes for the start of the year except for summoning which was coming up soon. It was refreshing to say the least and the ability to watch others teach had put his mind at ease. Taylor walked into the summoning classroom and took a seat near the door to the class. He folded his hands over his cane and his reading glasses fell to the end of his nose.

Last class of the day, this ought to be interesting.

"Off-campus business. Doesn't involve my duties as a teacher. It's none of your concern."

He'd button the coat up, covering the chainmail underneath. Although he had a week to prepare, he was suspicious of Reils catching wind of the hunt. Paranoia is just another word for cautious.

Savina thought about objecting, that he could have simply told them they wouldn't be able to find him during the weekend instead of giving a reason as to why. However; she shrugged it off, this was just one of those things that other people obviously did. "If you say so," she answered before going to her next class, summoning class, where she came and took a seat in the back of the class.

Robin thought he was interesting to say the least. She smiled and turned on her heel. "One more class," she thought, "And I will have completed my first day." Her face returned to a resting position and she began to leave the class room, storing away all she had learned this class in her memory.

As the bell sounded for the beginning of class, Asa went to go stand in front of the class. "Good Evening, everyone." A warm smile appeared on her face as a smattering of 'Good evenings' were heard about the room. "I hope you have all had a wonderful first day! Now, before I begin, I like to introduce myself, for anyone who was not at orientation." She looked about at a few guilty faces. "I am Asa West, but you may call me Ms. West, Ms. Asa, or just Miss, if you prefer. I will not respond to solely my first or solely my last name. Respect is important, always remember that." Asa walked over to her desk and pulled out a few papers from the top drawer and placed them on top of said desk. "Today, I will simply be going over the syllabus, if you will, of what we will be covering in this class." Back at the front of the class, Asa looked about the room. "As anyone here ever seen summoning before?"

"Did he now? Fabulous!" A light smile appeared, "Then you have at least seen some of the possibilities that summoning offers. Mr. Dunning showed you one of many types of summoning; There are three types. Would anyone like to take a venture at a guess as to what they might be? There is no need to be afraid to answer. Even if you are wrong, you learn something new, which is wonderful."

"Um, Ms. Lovell said that Necromancy was a form of summoning," Savina answered once again trying to think of the other two "Um, she also said something about conjuration, is that also a type of summoning?"

"Good guess, Ms. Savina, but not quite. While Necromancy and Conjuration are related to Summoning, they are not types of Summoning." Asa smiled at Ms. Savina, glad to have an active student in the room. "The three types of summoning are Inanimate, Live, and Deceased." Asa went over to the blackboard and began to write down the three types. "Inanimate Summoning is what it sounds like. Moving an inanimate objects from its previous location to the location of your choice. For example, I could use Inanimate Summoning to move a stack of books from one room to another. Does everyone follow? Good." She began on the next type of summoning. "The second type in Live Summoning, which Mr. Dunning showed you all today. Live Summoning is harder than Inanimate, because it involves another being. It can be an invasive act, and thus, requires much more energy." Asa turned back around to the class, "And lastly, we have Deceased Summoning. Of all the types of summoning, Deceased is by far the hardest as it requires the strength to reach into an entirely different realm." She looked about, "Any questions thus far?"

Robin thought she was kind. "Inanimate, live, and deceased." She wrote, listing them in order of least to greatest energy consumption. "What do you mean by deceased? Can you bring anything back or is it just people? Or can you even bring back people?"
