Eventually yes. But right now, maybe not so much. I've set Vincent up for a big change of character. If you can imagine coming from a very secretive community where you could die at any moment on any day and living with the same guys and under those conditions for a decade of your life, and then getting sent home and replaced by an INANE because you didn't want to kill unarmed people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time, then you've got Woods.

I suppose I can do with that. Also, I hope you all noted how INANES are like... the inane. Empty, void, nothing etc. there aren't many people who like them. So I am looking forward to the exchanges between Vincent and Saami xD

Alright, dragongal just put up a valid point about who is under the command of who basically. To prevent confusion I'll list the idea out clearly here:


Not everyone on this ship has to be in the army, while Saami, Adira and Vincent are, it wouldn't make that much sense for say Rea and Garrett to be with it. To fix this problem I decided to come up with the idea of a Deck Commander. You can be a Deck Commander while not being enlisted in the army, but traditionally the highest ranking people in Defence and Navigation are part of the army. So, I'll list everyone and their ranks out here.


Captain Adira; everyone listens to her.


Officer Vincent Woods; the whole defence department listens to him, and usually this means he is respected by the other departments as well, but he has no technical command over them. Garrett Marshall is the Defence Commander, meaning the deck listens to him, but his decisions can be overridden by Vincent as he is Officer of Defence, he also has no say over other decks.


Saami is with the army, but he isn't an officer. Which means he has to listen to both Adira and Vincent, he is however Head Pilot and Navigation Commander.


Rea (and spazzy's character too) isn't with the army, but she is the Culture Commander. However, as she isn't with the army she isn't obliged to take orders from Vincent.


Here is a list with the ranks and who is under the command of who:

The reason Saami can act as an advisor is more because both him and the captain are usually supposed to be on the bridge, if he actually makes up for that title in reality is a whole different case. It'll probably be limited to advice on navigation-y thingies.
