Three's a Crowd

Evangel frowned as she listened to him, hanging on his every word. So something did happen. It must've been something bad if he had to escape his parents. Usually they acted as if Atticus didn't exist.

"Well, I'm glad you're okay. I'm sorry about that, though. And thank you for answering my call." Eva added as she stared out the back window into her backyard. If he wasn't in jail, though, it probably wasn't too serious that she needed to worry a large amount.

"How soon can I see you?" She asked him quietly. Her parents were still gone because they decided to make a vacation out of their visit when Eva's cousin got really sick and they had to stay a few extra days.

"Don't be sorry. It was my fault," Atticus told her honestly,"And don't thank me, either. I should've answered it.. I just.. I don't know. Needed to cool down, I guess?.. Can't really explain it."

She'd finally picked him over Jace and he bailed. Not on purpose of course, but he had. He looked up in thought when she asked when she could see him. "Are your parents still out of town?" He wondered, knowing that she'd made a note of it a few days either. Maybe if they were gone he could spend the rest of the day and night with her. If not, he'd just probably have to wait until the next day.

~

Jace sighed as he laid on his bed, looking at his phone. He hadn't meant to piss off Eva or make her upset like he did.. He felt like all he did was make things worse but he honestly was just jealous and upset and wanted his girlfriend back. So, he texted her: Eva, please just consider taking me back. I promise you won't regret it. I really do love you with my whole heart and I want you to be happy. I realize I wasn't making you happy but I can. I'll change. Just please give me another chance.

"They're gone. You should come over. It's very lonely over here all by myself. And I have a lot to tell you." Evangel responded, remembering everything that had happened regarding Jace.

Just then her phone buzzed. She decided to check it once her and Atticus were off of the phone. She really wanted him to come over. Maybe they could spend the night together like they did at his place. Maybe she could ease his nerves.

"And it's so much stuff that it'll take all night to tell you, so if you're coming you're going to have to stay committed." She joked with a smile apparent in her tone of voice.

Atticus grinned a little bit when she invited him over. "Damn, five days and already I've missed so much? Oh, how I miss school," He remarked sarcastically with a smile as he leaned back into the couch and crossed an arm over his chest.

"Alright, deal. Give me like.. An hour-ish, maybe? Probably less," He told her, realizing that he wasn't totally sure where he was. He didn't think he was too far from his side of town but it'd take some time to either find someone to give him a ride or to get a cab out here. He was just excited to be able to see Eva. He missed her now that he'd gotten to spend more time with her.. And plus, the whole almost in a relationship thing made him feel even worse about leaving.

"Alrighty, hurry up. I'm lonely,"'she whined. Evangel, phone in hand, raced up the stairs to her to to make sure everything was clean and organized for when he came over.

"Door is unlocked so just come on up to my room when you get here. See you in a bit, love you." Eva put her phone down and hit end.

She sighed and stared up at the ceiling. Her room was simple. It had gray walls and mint green furniture accents. Her furniture was all white and black. Eva decided to slip into just a shirt. It was a bit large so it covered everything but she doubted Atticus would mind.

Atticus chuckled softly. "Alright, I'll see you soon. Love you," He told her before hanging up. He then used his phone to call a cab, figuring it would be easier than waiting for a friend. Plus, he didn't really want all of his friends knowing where Eva lived. Not that he didn't trust them.. He just wasn't a super trusting guy given all of their hobbies.

~

Jace sighed softly, watching his phone, waiting for her to read the text message. He'd just left there not too long ago. She couldn't have gotten that busy that fast. It wasn't like Atticus had been there to distract her either. He had no idea where that kid was nor did he care. He just wanted his girlfriend back.

Evangel lied down on her bed and messed around on her laptop. As she was going through some pictures of Ashley and her from last summer, she remembered that her messages had gone off while on the phone with Atticus.

Eva opened up the messages and saw that Jace had text her. He really was going to pursue this, isn't he, she thought with a sigh. Not meaning to be rude, she deleted the message and put her phone back down. She couldn't deal with the stress.

Evangel turned over on her back and continued going through the pictures. Her long shirt rode up a bit revealing the side of her underwear but she didn't care that much.

Atticus gathered up the few belongings that he had, which were really just his phone, wallet, and a jacket he'd been wearing that night, and started to get ready to go.

When the cab got there, it was about a twenty minute ride over to Eva's house. He paid the guy, then got out and headed up to her house. It was kind of nice with her parents not being there and all. It wasn't that they didn't like him.. But he felt like they were more apt to like someone with different hobbies.

He let himself in and headed upstairs, where he assume Eva was. "Evaaaa," He called, dragging out her name as he walked down the hallway. He stopped in her doorway and grinned, seeing her laying all cute-like on her bed. "Hey stranger."

Evangel looked up as Atticus walked in her bedroom with a grin on his face. "Hey you!" She responded as a smile began to light up her own face.

He looked rugged and sexy as usual and the sight of him made her heart flutter. For a moment she even forgot about everything that had happened with Jace that day. She was just glad Atticus was okay and back with her.

Eva decided she would get to relaying the days events to him later. As of now, she just wanted to focus on the two of them.

"You look comfortable.. And hot," Atticus remarked with a smile and a wink. He walked over to her desk and ditched whatever was in his pockets and his jacket, then kicked off his shoes and walked over to the bed.

He climbed onto it and laid on top of her playfully. "I missed you. Is that lame?" He asked her with a little bit of a laugh, moving so that he could kiss her cheek before rolling off of her and laying on his back.

He looked over at her and smiled. He'd been freaking out a lot these past few days but just seeing her calmed his nerves some. Not all the way, but it was better than nothing, that was for sure.

"Whatcha doing?" He asked, looking over at her laptop screen.

"That," Evangel glanced down at her partially exposed ass and bare legs. "was my plan. Although, I was going more for comfort but ya know." She replied with a giggle.

Eva laughed as Atticus fell on top of her and kissed her cheek.
"That's totally lame but I missed you too, so we're lame together."

The laptop screen continued to show pictures of some of Eva's friends and herself from last summer. "Just looking at some old pictures of Ashley and the others and I. I look like such a dork." She commented with a laugh.

In the current picture, Evangel was standing in front of the water at the beach by the lake, her back turned to the counter. She was only wearing a bikini. Blushing, she quickly clicked to the next picture.

Atticus chuckled softly, looking her up and down once more as she explained.

He grinned at her,"Well. I suppose it's better to be lame together then alone," He told her cheesily.

He nodded, looking at her computer screen. "You guys have changed a lot since then," He commented as he watched the pictures that she clicked through. Both of them had grown up a decent amount since then. He smirked a little bit when the picture of her backside appeared on the screen and he looked in her direction.

"How suggestive of you," He told her, as though it was the most scandalous thing he'd seen,"Are you trying to turn me on or is it just a natural talent?"

"Which is a good thing. Puberty loved me." Evangel winked at Atticus. She smiled as more pictures showed up. Her auburn hair had been shorter then because of the heat of summer.

Frowning innocently, she turned to the boy beside her.
"What... Do you mean? I don't know what that means, Atticus. I was just going through pictures," she responded, obviously lying.

Eva scooted a bit closer to his side and turned off her laptop before setting it on the nightstand beside her bed. She flipped on her stomach so that more of her butt showed.
"You're just so easily riled up, I hardly have to try. It's that or I'm just sooooooo sexy you can't resist." She teased.

Atticus chuckled and shook his head. It was true. She'd always been cute, but she'd definitely grown up in the last year in all ways. He liked her hair the way it was now, long and curly. And her body was banging.

"Oh.. Little ol' me? I couldn't know what you were talking about.. I'm sooo innocent," He mocked her playfully with a smile on his lips.

He grinned a little bit, moving onto his side when she moved closer to him. He moved his hand to the back of her thigh and slowly rug it up, tracing up her butt and back.

"Probably both," He responded playfully with a grin,"It's hard not to get all riled up when you've got a beautiful, half naked girl in front of you."

Evangel grinned as his hand moved up her body. It gave her goosebumps, but the good kind. She loved his touch and the way his eyes scanned over her. He was protective about it yet gentle, as if some random guy would come in and try and steal her. Wait... A guy did.

Eva sighed at the memory of Jace coming over that morning and turned over on her back again. She stared at the ceiling in thought.

Realizing she was probably killing the mood, Eva shook her head sadly and began to apologize.
"Sorry, it's just been a really long day. It's nothing you did wrong, I promise. Please don't stop touching me." She asked softly. It felt safer with his fingers or hands on her somewhere. That way, she knew Atticus was actually right there next to her.

Atticus furrowed his eyebrows, watching as Eva sighed and rolled over. He pulled his hand back, thinking maybe she wasn't in the mood for his flirting. He didn't mind. He just didn't want to piss her off.

"What happened?" He asked her curiously, wondering what had made her day so long. She said that she had a lot to tell him. He moved his hand back to her thigh and gently ran his fingertips over it, then moved it up to her stomach where he moved his fingertips around in a circle.

He propped himself up on his elbow, head in his hand, and looked down at her, waiting for her to start talking. He had a feeling he could guess what had happened but he didn't want to jump to conclusions. He'd like to stay positive.

Evangel smiled gently as Atticus traced his fingers around her thigh and stomach. "I uh... Jace came by earlier. I let him in because he seemed so sad. He kept saying how much he missed me and how bad he felt."

She looked up at him so she could observe his expressions as she continued. "I told him it wasn't about him... Kissing Cierra or..." She stopped, remembering that she never told him that story.

"Oh so at the football game, Cierra and the other cheerleaders cornered me. Someone spread a rumor that he dumped me and they were making fun of me for it. Then Jace showed up and got all handsy with her and started making out with her as all his buddies and those whores kept laughing. So I left."

"But yeah, he came over and apologized but I told him I didn't care about that. I care about the fact that I felt like someone I'm not and that I never felt like enough for him."
Eva sighed loudly and shook her head sadly.

"He started insulting you then I told him to stop. I said I was trying to figure things out in my life and that I needed to be alone. He wouldn't leave, but he eventually did."

Atticus raised his eyebrow, listening to her say that Jace came by to apologize and whatever else.

"Kissing Cierra?" He questioned, wondering when that had happened. Maybe he'd hooked up with someone right in front of Eva. Wouldn't that be something?

Upon farther listening, he quickly found that he had done that exactly. Figures. He's an ass.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, listening to her. "Do you believe him?" He asked her curiously, obviously questioning whether or not he actually felt bad or not,"And I don't care if he insults me. He's just mad because you're like.. Not with me, I guess, but not with him. He never liked me anyways. He's an ass, you know. And I know you still love him which makes me gag and whatever but it just doesn't seem like he knows how to make you happy, honestly." It might've just been his opinion but he felt like there was a lot of incidents to back him up. Jace just wasn't a good boyfriend for her. He'd thought that even before he fell for her.

"I honestly don't believe him." Evangel replied with a shake of her head. She didn't. It was too far in her life to be messing around with someone she couldn't trust.

Frowning, Eva turned on her side to face Atticus. She placed her hand on the back of his neck.
"Atticus, I don't love him the way you're thinking. I still care about him, sure. But I wouldn't get back with him." With a sigh, she played with his hair.

"You know what, I want to forget all about him. For good. No more Jace. Help me forget him?" She asked him quietly, looking up into his eyes.

Atticus wouldn't lie. It made him one hell of a happy guy to hear her say that she didn't want to be with him and that she didn't believe him. He could understand the whole caring thing but he still wasn't too keen on it. As long as she said she wouldn't get back together with him, he'd believe her.

He moved his hand so that it rested on her back and grinned a little bit at her words. "I can help you forget," He told her softly with a little smirk on his lips. He'd do whatever made her forget about the scumbag, especially if it benefited himself too.

He leaned down and pressed his lips to her's, realizing then just how much he'd missed it.

The whole day had been crazy and confusing for her, but in that moment, Eva could truthfully say that she was happy. She was genuinely happy with him.

Evangel smiled warmly and leaned into Atticus's kiss. Her hand remained on the back of his neck as she pulled him to her a bit closer.

Everything seemed... Different this time. Last time they kissed it was great, but somewhat rushed. She felt free this time. Her legs were tangled with his as she shifted to kiss him longer.

Atticus moved Eva closer to him with his hand on his back and grinned when she smiled. There was something so pure about her. Like you could tell that she was happy and in return that made him happy too.

He moved his hand from her back to the side of her neck when she shifted and he deepened the kiss, not because he wanted to get things moving but because he just wanted to kiss her.

Evangel gladly kissed him in return, her hand now moving through his hair. She pulled back a second to look at him.

Atticus was one of those guys that every girl would absolutely love to hook up with because of his bad boy persona and rough good looks. His eyes were dark and cold most of the time, but always seemed to brighten up when Eva was around. She loved him. It was that simple.

She traced her finger along his muscular chest and abdomen and grinned as she did so. He was a rebel, but he was her rebel.

Atticus looked at Eva when she pulled away, thinking maybe something was wrong again, like when she'd turned away from him the first time but she just seemed to looking at him.

He grinned a little bit at her, tucking her hair behind her ear. Never in a million years would he picture himself with Eva. Not only because she was his best friend but because of who she was. She was sweet and soft spoken while he was was rough and stubborn. He liked that though. he liked that they balanced each other out.

"I love you, Eva," He told her softly as he moved his thumb across her cheek.

"I love you too, Atticus," she responded back softly, a smile forming on her lips. Evangel moved so that she could sit up.

All of the sudden she placed a hand on his chest and leaned down to kiss him deeply yet delicately. She hadn't necessarily meant to kiss him as much as she did but it was just an impulse that felt like it should happen.

Again, Eva pulled away to look down at him. Her eyes were asking if she should stop. Maybe she was being a bit too forward about it.
