Three's a Crowd

Eva frowned thoughtfully and examined the thing. It couldn't hurt that bad, could it? With a deep sigh, she lifted it and inhaled.

It took all of her strength to keep it in her lungs without wanted to fall over screaming. She closed her eyes a second and kept it in her lungs before frantically exhaling.

She only coughed a little bit, to her surprise. She quickly handed it back to Atticus and took a sip of her mixed drink. God that felt weird.

Atticus raised an eyebrow, watching Eva do it. He was honestly surprised that she did it so well for a first timer. He laughed a little bit, listening as the guys cheered when she did it without completely dying.

"Look at that. You're a natural," He told her teasingly with a wink, a nudge, and a smile before taking another hit and passing it on.

"Yeah, are you sure you're not keeping any secrets, Eva?" Nick chimed in playfully.

Evangel held up a finger for them to wait a second before she regained her normal breathing. "Good cause I'm not sure I'll be doing that very many more times. That hurt like a bitch," she muttered with a soft laugh.

It was a nice atmosphere unlike most of the parties she would go to with Jace. There, all the guys would be drunk off their asses, chasing girls, having sex and what not. It was at one of those parties where Jace kind of forced her to fool around with him. She sighed at the memory.

No, this was a friendlier scene. Sure there was drugs and alcohol, but no one seemed to be completely out of control. Eva liked control. That's why she never did anything like this before meeting Jace or now being with Atticus.

Eva smiled contently and rest her head back on his shoulder before wrapping her arms around him.
"I love you." She murmured.

Atticus laughed at Eva. "You'll get use to it," He assured her, meaning that if she ever did it again. He supposed at least now she could say that she'd done it. Steppin' up in the world.

He took another long drink from his cup and looked down at Eva with a smile. "I love you too," He told her sweetly, kissing her quickly before looking back up to his friends.

"Anyone wanna do a line?" His friend, Johnny, asked, standing up from the seat he was in. He pulled a baggie out of his pocket and sat down on the floor in front of the coffee table. He dumped out some of the white powder onto the glass tabletop, then pulled out his wallet and grabbed his ID to start dividing it up and making the lines.

Honestly, Atticus would have usually jumped at the opportunity but that might've been pushing it with Eva around. It got you really high, really fast. It wasn't bad. It put you in a really, really good mood and made you feel invincible. But the crash afterwards totally sucked so unless you were drunk or something, it almost wasn't worth it.

"Come on you two," Johnny encouraged to Atticus and Eva with a smirk on his face.

Evangel frowned as Johnny started pouring the white powder onto the table. To be honest, she had absolutely no idea what it was. She turned to Atticus with a confused look on her face.

"Uh... What is that?" She asked quietly so she wouldn't be overheard. Maybe now that she tried some things already the guys thought she was willing to try it all. Maybe, but not until she knew exactly what she was getting into it.

Eva thought of how Jace would react if he knew she was doing these things. He'd probably be pissed off that she got upset for him drinking all of the time. And then he'd tell the entire school that she was a druggie now. Which she was far from.

Atticus couldn't help but smile when Eva asked what Johnny was messing with. She was so naive. Or maybe he just knew too much.

"Cocaine," Atticus answered with a bit of a raised eyebrow. He took another drink from his cup and looked over at her. "I wouldn't recommend it."

He didn't want Eva completely freaking out on her first time out. The first time he did cocaine he lost his head. He was all over the place and didn't know what was happening. He wasn't too fun, looking back on it. In the moment though, he thought he ruled the world.

He looked over when his friend nudged him and passed the joint back to him, so that he took between two fingers in the same hand that was holding his cup and took a hit off of.

Evangel nodded and leaned back again. That definitely wasn't something she was interested in trying. She was planning on taking them home after all.

Her drink was nearly empty, so she got up and helped herself to some more. This time Eva put a little more alcohol in it. She wasn't entirely sure why, it just felt like she shouldn't be as sober as she wS around these people.

With a soft sigh, the girl walked back and sat down beside Atticus. She tiredly lay her head on his shoulder and cuddled against him once more. Everyone was so happy and normal, besides the drugs, but it made Eva smile.

Atticus watched as Johnny began to cut lines and then his eyes shifted to Eva, watching as she stood up and walked off to the kitchen. He grinned a little bit, glad that she was getting comfortable. She seemed alright being around it all considering.

His eyes shifted back towards his friends, chuckling softly as he watched them all hit their lines. It was weird watching people do drugs and not really do them yourself. It was like you could see them switch from totally normal to out of their mind. You just tell by the look on their face.

He tilted his head back and downed the rest of his drink. He looked over at Eva and grinned when she leaned her head on him and got all close. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, then looked back to his friends. He watched as another drink, Daniel, pulled a huge bong out of his backpack and then started to pack a bowl. Everyone else seemed to be doing either their hardcore drugs or was getting more drinks, so Daniel came over to sit next to Atticus. He leaned forward and put his empty cup on the coffee table, then leaned back.

"Are you having fun yet?" He asked Eva teasingly.

Evangel curiously watched everything that the guys were doing. Their personality shifts kind of scared her, but that's what drugs do. Atleast they were aggressive.

She glanced up as Atticus spoke.
"Surprisingly, this is a lot more fun that I had anticipated." A few of his friends were downing a bottle of whiskey and making bets to see who could finish off one first.

Eva took a long drink of her beverage again and she could finally feel the effects the alcohol was beginning to have on her. Although she hadn't had that much, her body wasn't used to it. She felt a bit dizzy but shrugged it off.
