Futuristic Those That are Hunted

Hayden was happily surprised at Rosalyn's responses. She was honest and very determined. "I'm sure their chatting about me right now. The whole world is." He said. After she shook his hand, Hayden was stunned at her next reply, "How did you know I was after a prison?" His eyes narrowed. "What's your gift?"

"Look, we're not going to make a deal if you're useless to me. I appreciate your bravery, but strength and determination are different things. You gotta prove to me that you can help me." He looked at her eyes, "I like the fact that you can take down 2 guards. But what we're facing in this 'petty little prison' are elites of the elites. And I want to know how you can help."

Rosalyn was beginning to think that Hayden was becoming annoying. How dare he looked down on her like that. "Why are you Americans so dumb? My gift is of telepathy. How else would I know what you are thinking?" She wasn't in the mood to play mind games. Last time she did that she lost her ear and a finger. With this one she was sure she would loose her life. "I needed to know how to fight. And the whole point of an intelligence officer is that I can take things down from the inside. Don't ever underestimate someone, Hayden Pierce. Expecially me. People dont need a gift like yours to fight back. The agency has non gifted agents as well, the only difference is they can carry guns." Rosalyn frowned. Maybe trying to get his help is useless. "Besides, you came to me. I don't need you to get things done. I've been just fine on my own."

Tucker frowned when Kytha spoke fondly of Vulcan, as if he actually were on their side in this whole matter. He seethed silently at first though, and was surprised when Kytha suddenly embraced him again. He didn't react right away, surprised by the sudden hug and with how touchy Kytha was. He hadn't been touched in such a kind manner for years. Yet, hearing Kytha speak of how terrified she'd been when she'd seen Tucker possibly dying brought a small smile to his face. The smile soon broadened into a full grin of joy, as Tucker realized that someone still care about him in this ghastly and horrifying world that he had to live in. He wasn't as alone in all of this as he originally thought he was. Hearing Kytha blaming herself, Tucker's smile instantly became a frown and he gently took Kytha by the shoulders before pushing her away from him slightly, just enough so that he could look her in the eyes. He then calmly said to her, "Kytha, this isn't your fault one bit. I dragged you into that stupid escape attempt by asking you to help me." Pausing, Tucker's gaze then dropped to his lap and he let go of Kytha's shoulders before saying softly, "If anyone's to blame, it's me."

Vulcan waited patiently for the nurses to finish their job. He stared at the white curtains that separated them with worry in his eyes, arms crossed, nails dug into the suit. He also used the time to think. He looked towards Kytha and Tucker. The way she was hugging and caring for him, the speedster surely meant a lot to her. He felt kinda sorry for his arm but by the looks he got from him, he wouldn't accept his apology one bit. In fact, he was quite lucky. If they had continued beating him up back then he might have severed his arm. And besides, where would he go? The barrier was up. They would be trapped and eventually caught, no matter by whom. Then he suddenly remembered the scalpel with which Kytha had managed to mess his suit up. Those small tools could only be found here - in the medical labs. He had to find a way to snatch one and hide it somewhere around the pockets of his suit. The medical cart. Of course. Now only one thing left - not be seen.

Once the nurses finished sticking all of Xander's wounds on his front side, they had to carefully push him onto his side so that they could stitch up the wounds along his backside as well. Luckily, Xander couldn't feel any pain currently due to the numbing serum. Once finished stitching up the several wounds on the back of Xander's neck and legs, the nurses then went to work bandaging up Xander's legs from the toes to the thighs, his arms from the fingers to the shoulders, and then the right side of his face and his nose, where he had suffered some deep lacerations as well. Once done bandaging most of his body minus his chest and neck, the nurses then carefully lay Xander back down on his bed with fresh sheets and while the nurses gathered up their gear, one nurse injected Xander with a Therian healing serum to both reduce the pain he'd feel and to help speed up the whole healing process. With the serum injected into Xander's arm, the nurses then all gathered their tools and slid the curtain back so that Vulcan and Amelie could return to visiting Xander. Once the nurses left the area, Xander let out a small groan, not enjoying the fact that he could only see out of one eye now since the other was covered with bandages along the right side of his face. From what the nurses had told him about the numbing serum, Xander could guess that he had a few more seconds left before it would wear off and he could regain motor control of his body along with being able to speak again.

When the one nurse opened the curtains and the other pushed the cart forward, Vulcan quickly caught her forearm just she was passing through, placing his other hand on the edge of the cart. "I just want to thank you for taking care of my partner. You are doing a great job." he said with a small smile, trying to distract her enough so she wouldn't notice how he slipped the scalpel from the top shelf of the trolley, hiding it in his palm for the time being. Then he let go of her and as he was walking towards Xander's bed sheathed it in a pocket on his thigh. "Feeling better?" he asked quietly as he was standing next to the bed, although it was a rather rhetorical question. Of course he wasn't feeling well. There weren't many parts of his body that weren't wrapped in bandages. But he was at least hoping he wasn't in as much pain as before.

Xander raised an eyebrow at Vulcan's question and found himself annoyed with his lack of ability to speak at the moment. He could feel the numbing easing away from his body, but he was still in no position to speak just yet. Hopefully, Amelie could strike up some meaningful conversation with Vulcan to distract him from the lack of responses from Xander currently.

Piper continued gliding through the sky and clouds until she felt one of her ears twitch, Piper's direction sense telling her that she was at her destination. There was the loud sound of bones snapping and skin tearing, as Piper shifted from her dragon form into a small, European Swallow. Letting out a small chirp, Piper then effectively dove through the clouds and down towards the JFK Airport, which was directly below her. Being mindful of the planes landing and taking off around her, Piper smartly gave all of the planes a wide berth, as she flew down to the landing strip. Flying along the line of parked airplanes, Piper soon found one that had German writing on it. Not that Piper could speak German, but she could still recognize the language when she saw it. As Piper flew towards the opening to the cargo bay of the plane, she shifted into a small fly to be further conspicuous and to make it easier for herself to hide. After settling on the ceiling of the cargo bay, Piper waited for about five more minutes and then the workers left the cargo bay and shut the door behind themselves. Flying down from her hiding place, Piper then shifted into her fox form before finding the most comfortable piece of luggage to sleep on. She wasn't sure how long the fight would last, but she could only assume that she'd wake up before she was in any real danger.

An hour later, Piper woke up to hearing the landing gear easing out of the bottom of the plane she was in. Leaping to her feet and shaking her head to further wake herself up, Piper then shifted back into a fly and went to the ceiling as the plane landed and workers began unloading the luggage. Flying outside, Piper wondered where she was exactly and could only hope that the place was Germany. Flying away from the plane, Piper then shifted back into a European Swallow before flying towards the airport and trying to figure out exactly where she was. It didn't take long for Piper to spy numerous German writing through the windows of the airport though. She had to be in Germany now.

Considering Piper had no idea where this prison was in Germany, she had to find someone to ask. Surely the agency had agents stationed in the airport near their nice prison, right? Soon, Piper's hypersensitive hearing picked up some people talking nearby. Dimly recognizing one of the voices, Piper flew to the roof and then landed on the edge of it before letting out a small chirp and tilting her head sideways before curiously peering down at the two people below her. Surprise rolled over Piper when she recognized Hayden though. She had no idea who the other woman was, but Piper couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Hayden. Remembering the chaos in Cataracta though, Piper could only assume that was Hayden's doing.

Tucker's worded flowed right past her but she looked at him slightly shaking her head. "If I hadn't lost it and turned chimera you wouldn't be in here. You wouldn't have been on the brink of death. I would've killed you." Tears welled up in her eyes and she looked away. Both disappointment and sadness in herself. "I shouldn't be letting myself get close to you. I will only hurt you and I don't want you to suffer that. Not if I care about you." Her voice was dark and filled with fear. What would Tucker's reaction be? Her head swam and a. Tear dripped down her face. "I'm sorry."

Tucker frowned at Kytha, not liking that she was taking the blame for something he clearly initiated. If he had never brought her into an escape plan, she never would've freaked out like that and attacked the agents. Tucker still wasn't quite sure to this day why he hadn't just taken Kytha and ran for it when the one agent was struggling with the fire. He could've left all of those agents to die...but he didn't. It was rather confusing as to why he did that. Brought back to reality when Kytha began speaking again, Tucker looked into her eyes and then felt his heart stop. What? Kytha was telling him that she couldn't get close to him. That she would only hurt him further. Tucker's mind completely shut down at this, his breath held, as he tried to understand what she was saying. She didn't want anything to do with him? After all of that? After Tucker willingly walked back into the void of life to rejoin Kytha with the thought that she could be his ticket out of hell...she didn't want to get close to him?

Tucker wasn't sure what to feel or say. His face drained of color and his eyes seemed to dull in mere seconds. So, that was it, huh? It was true then. Nobody did care about Tucker, so what was the point? He could feel his heart cracking along the edges, the cracks joining age-old cracks that were already present. At this rate, his heart would shatter and there'd be nothing left of him but a husk of someone who no longer existed. Dropping his shoulders and shifting his gaze to his lap, Tucker then said softly, "So, that's it, huh?" He then bitterly added a bit louder to make sure Kytha could hear him, "I was given the choice to either die or live and I chose to live...for you." Looking up now with a deep sadness and sorrow, even a tinge of grief, in his eyes and the tone of his voice, Tucker met Kytha's gaze and then added, "It sounds like I should've chosen death."

Amelie saw the look in Xander's eyes telling her to talk, she assumed it was because the meds haven't worn off yet. Amelie walked over to Vulcan's side and placed a hand on his shoulder. When she spoke her voice was low. "If Hayden is able to break through the dome, I plan on taking your cuffs off." She could hear the scene going on between Tucker and Kytha behind her and tried to block it off. "I'm not going to let you sit in chains if you can help. " And because I don't like seeing you in them. If things work out the way she hopes it will, Vulcan will be pardoned by helping them bring in Hayden once again. That is if they don't die. In the process.

Vulcan tensed up when Amelie placed her hand on his shoulder. Has she seen him take the scalpel? Was it time to remove him from the labs? But then she spoke of releasing him if... well, when Hayden got in. He decided not to tell her that it would be far too late at that point, that he wouldn't be of any help, that there wasn't even the slightest chance of them defeating him like last time. They managed to take him in because that was his original plan. Instead, Vulcan just nodded at that. "Okay." he murmured quietly. He didn't know what else to say. None of them knew what was going to happen. "Maybe we should leave you to rest now, hmm? Get some sleep." he said, addressing Xander. Sleep was the best medicament, even with those healing serums they have surely injected him with. Wounds usually healed faster when one didn't move too much, allowing them to form thicker scabs. Or that's at least what he thought.

Xander frowned and was about to argue with Vulcan when he felt a wave of exhaustion finally kick in and his eyes drooped slightly. Maybe it was for the best that he got some sleep. He could feel his heart flutter at the mere thought of another dream of Celeste, but he was too exhausted at this point to fight it. Sleep definitely sounded like a brilliant idea in the moment, despite Xander faintly recalling that this may be the last time he ever saw Vulcan.

Feeling Vulcan tense under her touch she had quickly removed her hand, a frown forming on her face. Was this it for them? After all they've been through? She sighed and took a step away. She put on a smile for Xander. "Get some rest. I'll come visit when you're up again." Once she turned away from Xander her expression went neutral. "Let's go Vulcan. It's time to bring you back." She waited for him to start walking ahead of her.

Vulcan was afraid of that look. Why did he have to do that? He didn't want to be so mean and emotionless towards her. He didn't want her to feel like he had left her. He loved her. More than life itself. And that was exactly why he had to let her go. For her own safety. It probably wouldn't work out as he wanted to but at least he could give it a try. Then they started walking again. At least she didn't push him like any other guard or agent would probably do. Once they were outside, he headed towards the solitary confinement, expecting that this was the place she was to bring him back to.

Amelie had her eyes on his back the entire time they were walking. All she could think about were the nights they spent together. The way he touched her. Kissed her. He made her happy and feel loved and then he went and betrayed her. At this point ice would form where she stepped. ~All because of that stupid girl. She has ruined everything I worked so hard to acheive. Managed to ruin the one relationship I cared for and now I will have to deal with a psycho killer because he had a thing for her. If she didn't have a mythical creature to turn into I would have killed her by now.~ once they reach the building for solitary she lifted her watched up to the door. It flashed green and the door open. She lead him down the hall to the room he was in before. She did the same thing with her watch and the door open. She practically shoved him into the room and then closed the door without saying a single word.

Last thing Vulcan expected was for her to shove him inside his cell and since it came out as a surprise he stumbled a bit before quickly regaining his balance. Amelie was much stronger than she looked. He turned around and opened his mouth, wanting to say how sorry he was for everything, possibly explain what his intentions were. But before he could say out a single word the door was shut in his face. He had crossed the line of her patience. Oh, how they needed their love guru right now. He stood there for a couple of moments before turning his back on the camera and crouching down. He made sure it didn't see him pull the scalpel out of his pocket and beginning to examine the handcuffs. He had to be extremely careful now. He didn't want to experience that shock they gave him again. He supposed the mechanism was under the lights panel. They flashed green when they were being unlocked and red when they got locked. That meant it ran on a battery. If he could remove the battery the protection mechanisms would shut off, probably the power restricting thing as well. He positioned the scalpel in his hand and tried unscrewing the bolts. But the tool couldn't get a good grip on it. It required a special tool. Damn it. He was suddenly out of options. But maybe if he could get inside from the lamp? No... it was under a transparent part of the cover. He didn't even try to break it open. It couldn't possibly work. Wherever he tried to put the scalpel in - between the panel, the parts - it just didn't fit. The creators of that thing weren't stupid, not one bit. He put the scalpel back into his pocket and stood up, walking in a circle around the tiny cell like a nervous caged animal. He couldn't fit his hand into the opening in the door. Only a tablet could fit through. How did Kytha manage to shift? She was wearing the same handcuffs. But she looked like shit after that and needed medical attention. He wouldn't even make it to the exit. In addition, his wolf was much larger than hers. It simply wouldn't work. He sat down in one of the corners and closed his eyes. He hadn't eaten in two days or so and was hungry but knew he probably wouldn't get anything from anyone at this point.

Larassa had arrived at the Germany prison before the defense were put up and had been in her room ever since her arrival. Unpacking all of her gear and setting her room up again was rather tedious, but it helped to keep her mind off of the incoming war that was sure to come. Larassa didn't doubt the Chief's power, but if they had a real army of Gifteds planning to attack them...well, it was going to get bloody and fast. Deciding that thinking of the what ifs would get her no where, Larassa left her room and calmly walked to the solitary confinement area, taking a back route to avoid running into anyone. She wasn't really in the mood to deal with Ms. Glass or any of the other agents. She'd been praised by the Chief and didn't want any bad news just yet. Upon arriving in the solitary confinement, Larassa briskly walked down the hallway to do a headcount and figure out who was here and who no longer was. From what she could tell, Toron was still present and he was still not allowed any food or water just yet. If Larassa recalled correctly, it was his second day so he'd be given some water tomorrow morning to make sure he didn't die on them. Yet, Larassa was surprised when she pushed aside the viewing piece of the other closed door nearby. Instead of seeing Kytha, Larassa could see Agent Vulcan inside. Unsure of what he did, Larassa could only assume that he had switched sides. From what she could tell, he had a history with that Kytha girl too. Smirking at this, Larassa decided to have a little fun before she left. Keeping her voice low, but loud enough for a Therian to hear and for the walls to echo, she said to Vulcan, "Where's that pretty girl of yours? Kytha was it?" The lighting was very dark in the area as well, so Larassa's eyes glowed a light, golden color in the darkness while she watched Vulcan for his reaction.

Vulcan opened his eyes the moment he heard the small hatch opening and stood up to actually see who was there as best he could. "This is none of your concern." he growled. His vocal cords were human but that didn't mean he sounded much less intimidating. Her yellow eyes didn't bother him. He still had his with the exception that he couldn't see in the dark. All his senses were lowered, his physical strength, endurance and speed as well. He was rendered human but he wasn't weak. He was well trained and in a good health. Ivan had often put smuggled power restricting handcuffs to train just that.

Larassa smirked at Vulcan and peered down at him before saying, "If I recall correctly, you were the agent who single-handedly stopped Tucker from escaping. I would congratulate you, but now you're in chains so I hardly imagine that any congratulations are in order." Cocking her head slightly, Larassa wondered if torturing would be allowed so soon, but knew she didn't even know why Vulcan was imprisoned. Curiosity sparked, Larassa then asked him, "So, what'd you get in trouble for? Trying to get it on with you girl?" Larassa grinned cockily after saying this, finding immense pleasure in irritating Vulcan. Who said physical pain was the only way you could torture someone?

Vulcan saw her smirk. What the hell was he doing? He was falling for her tricks. Of course she would try to make him feel even worse. She was the torturer after all. He took a more relaxed stance, crossed his arms and tilted his head a bit. "Now why would you be so interested in that?" he asked with an obvious boredom written on his face. Their matters didn't concern her one bit. "You bored or what? Got no one to talk to and you choose me of all the prisoners here? Must be really aggravating." It probably wasn't such a good idea to joke with a torturer so feared among prisoners and agents alike but it wasn't like he had anything better to do. Amelie wouldn't give her an order or permission to torture him. She wasn't that mad of him. Or was she?

Larassa raised an eyebrow at Vulcan, watching his bored look growing on his face. Hearing what Vulcan had to say, Larassa smiled broadly at him, though her smiles were more unnerving than comforting. Chuckling, Larassa then said, "How would this be aggravating me? I enjoy watching others suffer and I doubt you're enjoying yourself in here." It then hit Larassa that Vulcan and Ms. Glass had been nearly inseparable since they'd arrived here. Did they have a history as well? Deciding to bring it up, Larassa looked at Vulcan and then said, "Well, if you don't want to talk about Kytha...what about Ms. Glass? Or...Amelie is it? Not many people are allowed to call her by her first name, so you two must be very close." Larassa said the last part of her sentence in a lower and teasing tone, purposely trying to antagonize Vulcan. Larassa was most certainly enjoying herself in this moment.

"Nah. Don't worry. I'll find something to spend the time with. Besides, I had a need for some alone time." he said. "And I don't believe you have that privilege to call her by her first name as well. For all I know, she'll be the next chief. And you will stay the old and ugly torturer." he shrugged.

Larassa smirked and said, "Old and ugly? I can live with that. After all, that means I'll live a long time." Any insult Vulcan could think of would just roll off Larassa's shoulders. She didn't take anything to heart, but knew how to weasel her way into someone else's mind and mess with them. "If she becomes the new chief, then kudus to her. I thoroughly enjoy my job and wouldn't want any other one out there. As for calling her by her first name, I only call her Ms. Glass out of respect for her." Deciding to try and mess with Vulcan's mind, Larassa grinned and then added, "Has she ever told you she originally met Alpha?"

"In the field, maybe after an accident where she had to heal her. Don't really care how they met. What matters is their relationship now." he shrugged again. Alpha and Amelie were as close as sisters or maybe mother and daughter. Whatever Larassa told him now would be a lie to try and make him think bad of his loved one. "Are you gonna ask about by whole biography now or what? There are plenty of computers in the science labs." he said, growing rather annoyed of their conversation.

Larassa blinked, feigning surprise. "She hasn't told you then?" Larassa grinned again and then said, "I'm surprised for her to let someone get so close to her and then to hold such large secrets from you." Pausing, Larassa then lowered her voice and added, "Surely, you are curious as to where Alpha really came from? Who she really is?" Delighting in this game of lies, Larassa continued to watch Vulcan's reactions, practically feeding off of them.
