Futuristic Those That are Hunted

Vulcan let out a deep sigh. He wanted to talk to Kytha about so many things but she didn't want to even lay eyes on him. She wanted him gone and dead. If it weren't for the handcuffs she would have probably done it already. What has he done... He was a monster, no better than Hayden. He had offered her help and then betrayed her to ensure his own safety. But he couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't let her go. They wouldn't last a day in the open, even with her mythical beasts forms. And he couldn't leave Amelie and Xander behind. They were his friends, family, loved ones. "I guess there's no point to try and talk to you." he muttered and after a moment spoke again. "You've spent a lot of time with Hayden. You know him better than anyone - how he thinks, his weaknesses, what he's willing to accept as an offer. Please Kytha, help us. This one last time." he pleaded. "You know I'm a bad liar so when I'm telling you that I don't agree with what the government is doing I mean it. And hell, not all agents are these freaks that kill for their own pleasure. Some are forced to do this. Haven't you thought of that possibility? Gifted are captured and given that choice - go to prison for the rest of their days or fight their own kind. If we can agree to something they will fight with us. With you... the rebellion leader."

Amelie's watch started flashes and she turned her com to a different channel. "What Is it?" 'Ma'am, Agent Vulcan is in solitary and he is talking to the girl." That didn't surprise her, after all she did ask him to but if he was doing what she asked then she wouldn't be getting this call. "And?" 'He is saying some things that would count as treason.' Amelie's eyes widened. Why would a gaurd be warning her instead of doing something? 'I wanted to let you know ma'am...well I wanted to let you know first because I can see what he means to you.' At that Amelie ended the call and turned to face all the GA'S waiting for her to talk. "Alright, I'm going to make this quick. Hayden Peirce escaped from the Cataracta Institute." They all started talkong, some yelling on how that was possible. "We have reason to believe he is coming here. We have a friend of his that he wants back. I need you all to prepare yourselves for the fight to come. I know it will be hard, and some of you might die, but hopefully it won't come to a fight. The chief wants to strike a deal with him. He is sending four GA'S from the United States HQ to help incase the deal doesn't work. If you have any wuations come by my office later for I have something else to deal with." Amelie had to shove past people for the kept trying to grab her attention. They knew how powerful Hayden is. After a he did work for them before.

Amelie turned her com on and changed the channel so it would only be her and Vulcan talking. "Vulcan, you should be careful with your words. Security can hear what you are saying and you are lucky they talked to me first. You were only supposed to go down there and talk to her about Hayden, not something that could put you in her spot." Amelie began to worry. What If he was changing his mind? The government didn't exactly fire people, more like throw then in a cell.

Vulcan heard Amelie in his ear piece and bit his lip but didn't say a word, instead turned his device off so she wouldn't hear their conversation. He was waiting for Kytha's answer. They knew. Of course. Those cameras were there for a reason. He didn't have much time left for talking the girl in. Amelie was sure to come and investigate, which would mean that he would be dragged out by her. But he couldn't reveal their plan either. Or his. He let out a small growl, then moved to the corner where the camera was mounted. He then continued to grab it and rip it from the wall. It sparked a bit in his hands, cables flashing with electricity before it died completely. "Now then." But they still didn't have much time. Now especially. "We have a plan that might or might not work, depending on your answer. He'll eventually come here. Would he give up his freedom if you were to be released?" There, he revealed what they were planning on doing. Vulcan knew Kytha wouldn't talk unless she knew exactly what was going on and what he was here to talk about. "But my and many other's plan would be more like this: Would he agree to fight with us against a common enemy? And would you?" he asked in a serious voice.

"Hugo to solitary comfinement! The guards yelled over the comm. "remove agent Vulcan from place. He is to not be allowed in the again." Amelie heard everything security was saying. "Vulcan you fool." Who rips out a camera in solitary unless it was so they could say something without someone knowing.

Suddenly there were two large cracks that foes on Amelie's wolf that was with Richter. The wolf whimpered but stayed where it was.

Kytha heard urgency in his voice but she made no move. "After all you've done, your coming running back and asking for my help. And, you really think that would stop anyone? He'd play it cool, be 'captured' for a few days, then easily escape. There isn't anything that can hold him now. He escaped cataracta. Nothing will keep him down." Her voice was angry. "I wouldn't fight with you ever. If rather sit here and rot than fight with you. Even if it is against the government." There, pure hatred shot out at him. The disgust in her voice was so real. "I'm not forgiving you. Not yet, maybe never."

Vulcan stared at the ground. She was right. No prison walls would hold Hayden for long. He had managed to escape from the most secure prison in the US or even in the world. His capture would again be temporary. And how did he expect her to suddenly restore her trust in him. He had done too much wrong to be forgiven so easily. Or ever. He was the reason she was here. "So I guess this is goodbye then. Farewell to be more precise." he muttered and looked up at her. "I probably won't be given a second chance to see and tell you this but... I still love you... like the little sister you once were. And I'm sorry. For everything I've said and done." he said finally, then let out another sigh and turned around to go back out.

Kytha watched him leave. The last words hit her hard. She waited till he had closed the door behind him then screamed. She stood up and slammed her fist into the wall which stopped her scream. She yelped in pain and clenched her now bloody fist. She sat back against the wall and began to sob into her knees. Her hand still clenched. "I'm a fool!" She screamed. He remembered what the last animal said about the item in her boot. She reached down and felt the lump. She dug in and found it. She grabbed it and pulled it out to look at it. She twirled it in her hand. It was some blue essence or something. It was in a little round bottle black dragon wings came out the sides tinged in blue. Aswell a tail from the bottom. The liquid inside it moved and shone it the dim room. It glowed making almost a little lantern. The cork was a dragon neck and head the eyes a glorious blue. Kytha sighed and dropped it back into a pocket in her boot. She leans her he's snack on the wall. She still held the fist as it continued to bleed. "What have I done." Right now, all she wanted to do was go run up to Vulcan and hug him. Ask for an apology and beg him to accept it. This was all her fault.

Vulcan unlocked the door using his watch and closed it immediately afterwards, dropping the broken camera to the ground. When he heard her scream, he quickly turned around with worry in his eyes but instead of going back in, he just stared at the ground for a moment. Then he stood straight again and headed down the hallway. He could already hear guards yelling but he didn't care. He was ready to accept the consequences of his actions. Even if that included being thrown behind bars. He was the reason Kytha was in prison so he might as well suffer the same way she was. It wouldn't matter. It was a matter of days or even just hours until Hayden found them. And then they would die, just like everyone else.

Her face was red with tears. She stood up and walked to the tiny window in the door. She saw Vulcan just walking away. She wanted to scream. Scream for him to come back. Scream for him to forgive her. Scream for him to say she would help. But nothing came out. The silence consumed her and the lights completely shut off. Now, she was consumed with a silent darkness. She sat in the middle of the room on her knees. Focused all of her energy and began to shift. It hurt like hell but was working. The cuffs were on her paws instead of wrists. She slowly became full wolf. She bounded at the door in hopes of breaking it. Her eyes shut tight. If it worked she was now in the hall facing Vulcan. Whether that was true or not she didn't know. She let out a bark saying three words. "I'm sorry Vulcan." She collapsed and shrunk back to human. Passed out on the hard ground. Still closed eyes.

Vulcan was already near the exit when Kytha's screams and whining became the quiet snapping of bones and ripping through skin - the sound Therians made when shifting slowly and painfully, barely heard by humans. Then, the door flew open. It made him quickly spin around on his heels and see Kytha in her wolf form standing there. He thought for sure she had managed to break her cuffs, was now going to shift into something bigger and try to kill him. But the last thing he expected, was her apologizing to him. Why would she do something as stupid as this? Seeing her collapse to the ground, he sprinted towards her, kneeling down and lifting her head and shoulders up onto his lap for support. "What have you done, Kytha..." he muttered as he brushed the strands of hair away from her face, checking her breathing at the same time.

She laid limp there. Her breathing was rasped and harsh. The movement shuttering her chest. Her movement was little to none. Her brain ached in her sleep and everything pounded around her.

At least she was breathing. But she needed some medical attention nevertheless. Vulcan positioned himself to stand next to her, slipping his hands under her legs and shoulders and lifting her up, letting her head lean on his chest. Then he rushed through the hallway, opening the door with his watch and kicking it open afterwards. He walked past the receptionist who yelled 'Stop. You can't do this.' after them but was ignored. Then, as they were in the open he had to confront the guards that were just about to get in and drag him out. He dared them to try and take her away from him. He would rip them to pieces, there and then. "She needs a doctor! Quickly!" he roared at them before thy could even get near them, a growl in his voice.

'Ms. Glass we are having a problem.' Amelie was getting tired of all these problems. "What is it now? You don't need to inform me about every time something goes wrong." By now Amelie had dismissed all the GA's back to their assignments. She would tell Hugo and Richter what happened later. 'Agent Vulcan has taken a prisoner out of solitary and is threatening us.' Amelie couldn't hold back from making an ear piercing scream and took the comm out of her ear and threw it on the ground. "I am tired of her! She needs to go, now." Her wolf that was with Richter, shattered and then reformed next her, spike now formed on its body. She had her ice armor on and her sword form in her hand.

The receptionist had to pull the phone away when she heard her boss scream. When it stopped she put the phone back to her ear but was met with static. "Ms. Glass is on her way." She told the other agents. Vulcan had been such a good recruit and it was sad that he was going to have to be away for this.

Before long Amelie came storming through the door and saw guards surrounding Vulcan. Seeing said person having Kytha over his should her eyes narrowed. Her wolf moved on ahead of her as she walked. The guards moved aside for it to pass through and waited for orders from Amelie. The wolf stopped when Amelie stopped and started to growl. "Agent Vulcan, I suggest you put the prisoner down and move aside." Her voice was stern and had a hint of anger in it. She felt a little betrayed at this moment. He should have known what would happen if he did this. She gripped the hilt of her sword, waiting.

Vulcan heard Amelie's scream of anger and frustration but didn't move from his spot, surrounded by the soldiers. Then, after a couple of moments, he saw the crowd of guards and agents move aside to let her large spiked ice wolf through, soon followed by its creator, holding her greatsword in her hands. He had crossed the line and knew what was going to follow. But he wouldn't go down so easily or let himself be taken away. He slowly set Kytha on the ground, then stood straight again, turning towards the other wolf and shifted, the hairs on his back standing up, baring his teeth and snarling, protectively standing over the rebellion leader. He had memorized Hayden's message. While it may have been a lie that there was a shard inside of Alpha, the man had requested Vulcan and no one else. Amelie could accompany him if she wanted to but he was the one he was coming for. Better end this with a blast and take what's coming to him without anyone feeling sorrow for his death. It hurt him to do this but he felt like it was the right thing to do. As many agents as there were and as trained as they were, they wouldn't last an hour when Hayden arrived.

"Is this really what you want, Vulcan? She would have gotten medical attention if you just left her alone in her cell and alerted someone." When he shift her wolf barked and she frowned. "We have bigger things to deal with right now." The guards attempted to get closer to Kytha to grab her. "I'd rather not have to fight you." She knew her wolf would probably be destroyed pretty fast for Vulcan knows its weakness. Amelie didn't want to fight him, never dreamed of it and it might happen all because of that stupid girl behind him. Should have killed her when I had the chance.

Vulcan preferred not to think about it. Of course it wasn't what he wanted. He would never turn against Amelie - his most beloved one. But he thought that was the right thing to do. She would do just fine without him. Yes, she would probably weep for his death for some time but she would be fine. Most importantly alive... hopefully. And if she was to be killed... they would meet again in the spirit world. No no no. That wasn't what he was supposed to be thinking right now. He continued growling but didn't move away from Kytha, bound to protect her. His peripheral vision, now improved in his wolf form, caught the soldiers moving closer, trying to pull the rebel away from him. He spun around, biting at everything that was in the way of his jaws and wasn't clever enough to move away from him.

One guard went up and wrote something on a piece of paper. They all knew how good Vulcan's hearing was and the guard wasn't going to take a chance. Reading the note Amelie nodded. Now that Vulcan was facing away from them one of the guards next to her pulled out a tranq gun and shot it at Vulcan. It had enough to sedate a very large horse and since Vulcan was roughly the size of one it should work. "I'm sorry.." Amelie whispered after the gun went off.

When the dart, specially designed to be able to pierce even the thick skin and fur of a Therian, dug into his back somewhere between the ribs and spine, Vulcan let out a loud painful howl, followed by yelping. The tranquilizers immediately started to take effect. The more he moved, the more the sedative entered his blood stream. But he couldn't help it. It was a stinging, itching and painful experience. He pounced to the side, away from the source of the shot, bumping and causing some guards around him to fall. But he was no better. His vision was getting more blurry by the second, his whole body was shaking and trembling with a feeling he hadn't gotten in years. He fought his way out of the crowd, stepping on the fallen once that were in his way and running in some random direction, his senses numbed by the drug. All he could see what a blur or mere colors, every sound was so distant. His legs refused to support his weight any longer and he soon collapsed to the ground, his muscles twitching with spasms a couple more times before finally the forced exhaustion took over and he had feinted. However, he was still in his wolf form. Just like all Therians, they didn't suddenly lose their ability when asleep or feinting. For it was just a second side of them. And that was exactly why they all had some small animal features even in their human forms - physical and psychical.

Kytha gasped and awoke coughing brutally and spitting up blood. She felt someone grab her ankle and began kicking. "S-stop!" She rasped. He still held on and she panicked. She looked up to see Vulcan. "W-what? W-hy v-Vulcan?" She laid her head back down and gave the man a hard shove with her foot making him let go.

When they shot Vulcan she screamed. "NO!" Using all the energy she had, she crawled to him. She grabbed his head. "Vulcan no! Wake up. They'll kill me. I don't want to die. Wake up!" It was no use. He laid his head down and stood up wobbly. She began to run. She ran to the tree and checked in the hollow. She grabbed the item not looking at it. She then bounded to the cells, barely avoiding some guards. She dug out the next item. The guards were coming from both ways. She had to think fast. She ran out the cell and onto the ledge of the second floor, where her cell was,(it is. Right?) and jumped landing softly in a roll. She then shot towards the medical bay. She needed the item and medical attention. Before se could get there. Everything blurred. She stopped and shoved the items into her boot with the other before collapsing once again.

Amelie had to close her eyes when Vulcan started thrashing around. She couldn't watch the love of her life be like this, mainly because she was the one who ordered it. Her wolf shoved her out of the way when Vulcan came near them. When he was down she finally opened her eyes. Her sword shattered and there was a sadness in her eyes. "Go get the net." Two men went off to go grab the power restricting net. Hearing Kytha speak, her wolf walked up to said person. When she ran her wolf ran after her. Just subdue her, I don't want her harms right now. When they left, Amelie walked up to Vulcan limp body and knelt down running her hand through his fur. "I'm so sorry..it had to be done." She whispered. She told the wolf, some men ran after her with it. The two men came back with the net and waited patiently for Amelie to move. Amelie ran her hand through his fur one last time before getting up and moving aside. They tossed the net over him and he shifted back. "Put the cuffs on him and put him in solitary. I will deal with him later." The guards nodded and put the power restricting cuffs on him. One of them had the gift of inhuman strength, so he was able to pick up Vulcan's body with no problem and brought him to solitary. Amelie walked up to the phone and called Hugo. "Hugo I need you to go after Kytha with Richter. I have my wolf and two other guards after her as well. Don't exactly know where she is right now but I have a feeling she headed towards the medical bay." She hung up an dialed another number."Let me know when Vulcan wakes up."

The guard who was carrying Vulcan tossed him into the cell. "Such a shame." He mumbled before locking the door with his watch.

It took 2 hours for Hayden to pack all the things he needed to go to Germany. A GPS, food supplies, and guns. He barely even managed to hijack a patrol chopper, well, at least he did it. The chopper didn't look so good, so he had to fix it with all the tools in the airport. Sometimes, he was grateful for the general mechanics training back when he worked with the gov. It was going to take some time to fix the engines.

It took him a long ride to Germany, and he even forgot his energy drinks. He was lucky that Germany's airport was friendly to gov choppers. Nobody recognized him yet, but someone will eventually. He bought a hat from the airport's market and used it to hide his face. Then, he used his phone to text Amelie rather than calling her.

"Amelie, it's me, Hayden. I'm coming to knock on your front door, hope I'm welcome :) . Is the dinner ready for visitor's yet? LOL xD " He sent the text. He didn't mind putting emojis on it.

When Hugo heard orders over the radio he turned and sprinted towards solitary confinement but before he reached solitary confinement he got a new order "Ok heading there now." he responded. Really with Richter? Just my luck he thought as he dialed Richter's number "Richter I know you don't like me right now but we need to get Kytha. Something went down with her and Vulcan and she ran off. Amelie thinks she's heading towards your location so be ready." Hugo turned off his radio before Richter could reply and ran to the medical bay. Arriving Hugo saw Richter getting stitched up. At least Kytha's not here yet. Damn Braen why did you bite so deep? Excuse me but at the time I was planning on killing him. Anyway shouldn't we be helping Kytha get out? No! we still need to find a gifted that can amplify powers after our work is done the government will collapse on itself as there would be no reason to lock up gifted as there would be no humans to "protect" from us. So be a good agent but search for that gifted in your free time got it? Ok, got it.. Hugo looked at Richter again as it seemed like the nurse was almost done.

Kythas body stayed limp on the ground. She could hear voices but no other senses were used. The sounds got closer but she didnt move. She couldn't if she wanted to.

Larassa had arrived at the agency's HQ at this point, after traveling their on a private jet thanks to her high position in the agency. Upon arrival, Larassa briskly walked straight inside of the HQ and began weaving her way through the numerous hallways until she found herself standing in front of the Chief's door, which had an armed and gifted guard on either side of it. Neither of the guards stopped Larassa though, since they knew very well who she was. Knocking on the door, Larassa then opened it and shut the door behind herself before turning to face the Chief and saying, "Sir, I was able to learn a few things from our newest prisoner."

Piper frowned when Alpha said 'poor thing', as if Piper were some creature to be handled with delicacy or something. The moment the girl began taking a few cautious steps towards Piper, she was backing up until her wings touched the wall behind her. Narrowing her eyes at Alpha, Piper then said, "And why should I trust you? For all I know, you're lying to me and just want to put me under so I can be locked up yet again." What Alpha said about Piper's wings was true though, even if Piper wasn't going to openly admit to such a weakness.

Xander found himself drifting along the hallways of the prison area, and soon found himself in the midst of a large commotion. Confused, Xander weaved his way through the guards until he found Amelie standing amongst them and saw Vulcan being dragged away by some guards. What the hell!? Xander swiftly joined Vulcan's side, despite him not knowing Xander was even there. When Vulcan was thrown into his cell, Xander joined him and then sat down against a wall, watching his best friend sleeping. Xander wasn't sure what had happened, but he could never see his friend doing anything wrong. Sighing, Xander realized that he really needed to wake up from this infernal coma that he was in. He wasn't of any use right now and his friends seemed to really need him. Yet, Xander had no idea how to do it. Plus, he was now stuck inside the cell with Vulcan unless he had another wonderful memory overwhelm him once more. After the last one though, Xander wasn't too keen on having another.

Tucker felt his body, or his ethereal one, shaking while he sobbed. This was all hopeless. Nobody was coming for him. Why was he even bothering with anything? The moment he woke up, they'd be locking him up and then doing tests on him. He was just an 'it' to everyone around him and nothing more. He was worth nothing to anyone, they just wanted his Gift. In the midst of feeling all of this despair, Tucker suddenly felt something appear near him. Looking up, Tucker saw through his teary eyes what appeared to be a bright light forming against a wall nearby. What in the world was that? Tucker hesitantly stood up and then took one step towards the light. In that moment, Tucker heard machines going off crazily and looked to his side to see that his real body was having a seizure. His heart rate had spiked drastically to what would be normal if he were sprinting around, but he wasn't and so it was driving his body to the point where he'd no longer be alive. Frowning, Tucker looked back to the light and felt himself torn with indecision. End his life and hope to find a better one in the afterlife? Or stay back despite all of the hell he'd no doubt go through and pray that someday his days would get brighter?

When Vulcan got thrown into his cell, his limp body rolled on the floor and his back hit the wall. The only movement came from his chest calmly rising and falling. But since the sedatives were a drug above all, he was having a dream. A bad one - an old memory.

He was in his wolf form, running as fast as he could through the streets, panting from shock, pain and exhaustion. His shoulder was bleeding badly, causing him to limp heavily, leaving a trail wherever he went. The heavy rain didn't help his attempted escape at all. Every raindrop hurt him more and blurred his vision, causing him to run at random, disorientated. Running was pointless but he wouldn't just give up and be taken in without giving those bastards a fight. Suddenly, something huge jumped on top of him and clawed his thigh open, scratching the bone and making him howl in pain. It caused him to fall and roll in the dirt from the high speed. Then, something, or rather someone, stood above him - a huge Amur Tiger Therian, setting a paw on his neck and pressing him down, suffocating him. Vulcan shifted human, his gun in his hand but before he could fire a single bullet, the Therian shifted as well and bent his wrist, causing him to let go of the weapon. With his free hand the attacker grabbed him by the hair, lifted his head up only to slam his skull back into the pavement, making his head swim even more than before. Then he used the moment to turn his prey on his stomach and shackle his hands behind his back. He set a knee on his back, completely trapping him under his weight. There was no escape.

Vulcan's leg and shoulder were bleeding so heavily that they were forming a large puddle around where he was laying, watered down by the rain, his head hurting from hitting the ground, his vision blurry, the agent sitting on top of him hindering not only his movements but also the ability to breath properly. The combination of those caused him to cough weakly a couple of times before feinting.

Hours later, he woke up in a cell similar to the one he was currently residing in, the wound on his shoulder from the gun and the huge wound around his thigh only slackly bandaged with simple dirty cloths. The only thing stopping him from bleeding out were the thick scabs that had formed over the wounds. He held onto his leg, shaking, sweating, crying out in pain as it hadn't been even sutured. He cried out for help but his weak voice only resonated through the cold dark hall, unheard by anyone.

After about half an hour or so, he slowly began to wake up. His body started twitching, his arms and legs moving, then his eyes opening. He let out a quiet whimper and pushed himself up to a sitting position, leaning on the wall. He rubbed his eyes, not quite knowing what that dream was all about. He supposed it was because of the sedatives. His head was still swimming, his vision blurry but getting better. A normal human would be asleep for quite longer but not someone like him, even with the cuffs on. Once he could see rather properly, he looked around. He was in solitary confinement, which wasn't a surprise. And now that he was on the receiving end, the cell looked even tinier that before. He couldn't stretch out his whole body inside, there was no bed, no water source. Just the four stone walls, a small hole in one of the corners and the solid steel door with a single small opening from where they received their food - now closed. But one couldn't even fit his hand through it and the food given to them was a very small amount, enough to just keep the prisoners alive but not in a good shape. However, Vulcan had no real problem sleeping on the naked cold ground. He had grown up in the streets after all and the basement in the gas station wasn't too much better either.

Next, Vulcan lifted up his hands to his eye level, examining the power-restricting handcuffs. He hadn't worn them in years. They were definitely improved from the last ones. Vulcan had managed to get them off then, in fact, almost managed to escape but not quite. He was shot down right as he was going through the gate of the facility.

Vulcan managed to stand up using the wall for support. He was still in his agent's suit with the watch on but he highly doubted it would still work. However, it was worth a try. With the incompetent staff that worked for the government, he wouldn't be surprised if it was still usable. He pressed the device on the lock but it just flashed red. Vulcan then continued to stare at the scanner for nearly a minute. Then, rage took over. He roared in anger and punched the wall with the side of his fists and wrists, trying to break the cuffs. He tried again and again, rubbing the thick metal against the stone. But then, the protective mechanisms inside the devices activated. They were able to recognize when the prisoner had simply fallen down or had hit them unwittingly and when he wanted to take them off by force. The metal began tightening around his wrists, stopping right before the breaking point of the bones, however, sending electrical shock waves over his body at the same time. Vulcan screamed in pain and curled up on the ground. It was overwhelming. After ten seconds the device returned to normal and let him breath again. He crawled back to the wall and leaned on it, unknowing what he was supposed to do. There was nothing else left than wait.
