Futuristic Those That are Hunted

She stood over his body with a protective growl. Hey tail curled around him and twitching. "Shut up Vulcan! I am not going to let you do this. You say you care for me but don't allow me to let someone I care about leave this world peacefully? What's wrong with you. How are you any better than him for doing this!?" She leaned her head down and looked at the damage. "How could you..."

Hayden just laid down, his blood bursting everywhere. He still had one minute to live but he felt no pain at all. The paralysis finally faded out and this gave him enough time to finally do his last request. Surprisingly, he got his strength back to twist and look at Kytha with tears on his face. He opened his mouth, there was still breath to be spared, "I love you." He said.

Thud.

He dropped to the ground again, his eyes closed. He was finally... gone. He was in a better place now, in Ragnavir, where he could do the things he never had done in his physical life - and that was to live freely and happily with all his ancestors. The Last Pierce has finally returned. His heart beat one last time and it released an unharmful blood substance that continued to spread across them until it reached Kytha's dragon foot, where it then transformed into a small red shard that contained Hayden's drop of blood inside it. It would serve as a reminder for Kytha to always keep close to her, the last words of Hayden, "I love you." The red blood shard would never shatter away even after it's master's death.

When she hear his voice she looked at him. She shifted into human and fell to her knees picking up the shard. She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Hayden..." She put a hand on his. Cheek even though it was all bloody. "I love you too." Her voice was a small whisper.

Her eyes went hard and she glared up at Vulcan with the shard in hand. She stood up slowly and carefully.

Piper watched everything unfold, her eyes flickering about to everyone in the scene before her. She was more than happy to hear Hayden's heartbeat fade, but now she saw that Kytha was carefully watching Vulcan as she got up. Growling at Kytha, Piper stood back up as well and then took a step and placed one of her talons between Vulcan and Kytha. With how large she was, whenever she took a step, the ground would shake slightly, which could cause someone to stumble if they weren't ready for it.

Vulcan watched the scene unfold without making any more sounds. No one could do anything about it at this point, perhaps not even Alpha. And why would they? If no cell could hold him then what was the point in trying to contain him. Science was one thing, the preservation of the human kind was another. He listened carefully to his heart as it made its last painful beats. Then, it was silent. The last of the Pierce was dead and their job was done, the prophecy was fulfilled and his deal with Death was finally completed. Kytha would get over it. She had Tucker by her side after all - a far more suitable candidate for her heart in his opinion. But he didn't have time to think of were that speedster had run off to. When Kytha glared up at him with that empty expression, then stood up with the shard in her hand, Vulcan thought for sure she was going to attack him with it and try and kill him as well. But it didn't come to that. He jumped back when Piper set her huge talon in between them. It was so huge, that Vulcan couldn't even see Kytha on the other side of it. That step she took created a small earthquake beneath them and Vulcan stumbled to the side a bit before regaining his balance once more. Four legs were better than two after all.

Xander had finished freeing the solitary confinement prisoners and, while it was slow progress without Tucker's help, he began to move each of them into the medical bay so they could be taken care of. Arriving with the first one, who was a young female and appeared to be only twelve or so years old and was clearly malnourished and dehydrated, Xander then kept the girl in his arms, while he kicked at the door and shouted to Matthew inside, "Matthew, open up! I've got a few prisoners who all seriously need some help."

Matthew ran to the door as he heard Xander on the other side of it and removed the chair, holding the door open wide for them to go inside. "I'll get the doctor." he said and ran down the hallway again, going into an office where he had seen the doctor and the nurses go off hiding again. After explaining the situation to them, they followed him and began taking care of all the gifted who were brought in, mainly giving them water and something to eat, as well as injecting some with healing serums to get them back on their feet.

Once Xander had gotten all three of the malnourished and dehydrated, one had clearly been tortured already as well, prisoners in the medical bay, he paused at the door and then said over his shoulder to Matthew, "Matthew, I'm heading outside now to see what all is happening. Only open this door if it's me, Vulcan, or Amelie on the other side. Don't trust anyone else, okay?" Without waiting for an answer, Xander then exited the medical bay and made his way outside, surprised when he saw the backs of nearly fifty or so prisoners and even some agents and guards in the mix. While none of them were making any moves right now, they all seemed excited and antsy about whatever they were watching currently. Xander could see Piper towering a couple hundred feet away from where he was currently and so he began shoving his way through the crowd, intent on getting to the front so he could see exactly what was going on currently.

Matthew tried to tell him that it was probably still dangerous outside but the fire bender didn't listen. Instead, the boy just locked the door again and joined the prisoners, trying to comfort them as best he could, explaining them the situation and making sure they were well taken care of. Hopefully, they would be able to run in a less than an hour. Unless of course this place was used as a base for the rebellion. Yes, this would probably be a good idea. The dome was still up and was giving them some protection as well, even with the huge hole in it.

Soon, Xander had made his way to the front of the crowd and he nearly audibly gasped at the sight before him. While he couldn't see Vulcan behind Piper's talon, he could clearly see Kytha in her human form and Hayden's mangled and bloodied body lying still near Kytha. Was he truly dead? Had they finally killed Hayden? Not wasting a second, Xander began jogging towards Kytha and Hayden, intent on finding out if Hayden was truly dead and what had happened to him. Yet, as he jogged towards the pair, Xander halted at the sight of the large tear through one of Piper's folded wings. It had blood trickling down the wing and dripping off the tip from the huge tear and Piper had her left eye tightly closed, as if something were wrong with it. This was not good and Piper no doubt needed to be checked over, but Xander doubted he could convince her to shift right now with the potential of combat any second with the numerous prisoners, guards, and agents anxiously waiting near the cells and medical bay. The last thing Xander wanted to do was do something drastic and then incite the crowd to attack everything in sight. Shifting his gaze back to Hayden and Kytha, Xander then began to calmly walk towards the pair, hoping that Kytha wouldn't whip around and attack Xander for some random reason simply because Hayden had just died. After all, Kytha had cared deeply for the insane man, hadn't she?

Kytha was about to sprint at Vulcan but was stopped by piper. The shake made her have to crouch and regain her balance by placing down one hand. When she stood up again she screamed in anger. She was so confused on what to do. Start a riot? Sit there and mourn for him? Just walk away? She heard footsteps behind her before she could decide what to do. She flipped around and upon seeing Xander she snarled. She stood over the body of Hayden protectively. One foot on either side of his body, her hands warding him away as to keep the amount of space. "Touch him and you will regret it. I don't care if he's dead. Just stay, back."

Toron was just watching his sister with cautious eyes. The minute anyone tried anything stupid, she'd have a forcefield surrounding her. Though seeing Xander nearing her made him wary. He created force fields and shattered them into those green shards and made them go in front of Kytha. "No one touches my sister." He mumbled

When forest heard an agonized scream she turned towards it. She dismissed the clones and ran towards the outside area to see a giant dragon. "Whoa..." Now that's something she never thought she'd see. Hearing a girl yelling at two different people, she assumed and began making her way through the crowd towards her. Seeing the dead man, the girl, the agent, and the wall, she gasped. What the hell was that wall??

Hearing Kytha snarl at someone and then Toron creating his shards, Vulcan grew curious what was going on on the other side of the huge talon that was in his way. His curiosity however soon transformed into worry. Who could that be who would dare come closer? No prisoner or agent would make even a single step towards the scene that unfolded in front of their eyes. Without a second thought, Vulcan leapt at Piper's talon and climbed to the top of it to give himself a higher ground, hoping she wouldn't kick him off. Well in that case he would simply jump off. But the last person he expected to see down there was Xander. He was looking better... but how? And why was he here? In the distance he could also see some other girl but he didn't pay much attention to her. "Xander..." he whimpered. "What in the world are you doing here?!" he then barked at him. "Back away!"

Rosalyn rolled her eyes at Larassa. "Whatever." She was just staring at Amelie. Reading her thoughts as a gene came on her face yet again. "I doubt someone of your calibur doesn't feel well just from a little stress. Are you sure it isn't something else?" It took a lot for her to not stare at her belly but she did anyway and when she looked up she saw the scariest face a woman could make kn Amelie's face. Rosalyn actually shrunk back a little. "I'd watch your tongue, prisoner." She said prisoner with such venom the Rosalyn decided to just keep her mouth shut to as not upset the ice bender anymore.

Xander raised an eyebrow while he also raised his hands up with his palms facing Kytha in a defensive manner. He then calmly said, "I'm not going to touch him, Kytha. I just wanted to double check that he was actually dead...is he?" Suddenly, he heard Vulcan shouting at him and looked up to see Vulcan had climbed Piper's talon of all things.

Raising an eyebrow at this, Xander was about to calmly reply when Piper snarled at Vulcan and began to lift her talon, bringing it about ten feet into the air. She then began to slowly shake it about, wanting to just get Vulcan off and not to hurt him in the process. Sending her thoughts to Vulcan, Piper then said, "I'm not a playground for you to climb around on, wolf."

Larassa looked between Amelie and Rosalyn, finding their petty argument pointless. Huffing, she then said to the group, which had just increased by one when the anti-gravity agent as well, "Ms. Glass, shouldn't we get a move on? Where's the nearest safehouse for you? Or should we be heading out to HQ?" Larassa had never dealt with a huge catastrophe such as this one and so she wasn't sure what the protocols were.

The moment Piper began lifting up her paw, Vulcan began climbing down and finding a good position to jump off. But when she began to shake it he just leapt down, landing on all four safe and sound. "Sorry about that." he replied telepathically, then focused back on Kytha, Xander and the force field shield, ready to break apart into shards any moment and pierce whatever was in its way. "Kytha... you need to calm down." he tried talking to her but didn't take a single step towards her. He didn't think he would say this but they really needed Tucker at the moment - the only person able to reason with her at the moment.

Amelie opened a map up on her watch. The place she lived at while she was stationed in germany before wasn't too far. "Unfortunently HQ is on the opposite side if the country and since we have no mention to fly the plain we will drive to somewhere else." She marked the little cottage down on the go's and looked at Rosalyn. She didn't have any cuff with her. "Do you by chance have any cuffs." Rosalyn sighed. "It's no use. Those things hardly do a thing." In flash Amelie was in Rosalyn's face, before said person could react Amelie had placed her hand over the woman's mouth, ice forming over it. "I've had enough of you talking." When Amelie pulled her hand away, Rosalyn went and tried to scratch the ice off. "It's not going to do you any good." Amelie then reached down to ice her ice as cuffs but stumbled. The earth bender was quick to react and held her uo. The ice barrier did take up a lot of energy and she was still recuperating. "Let me." He said and pulled out the spare cuffs almost all agents carry.

Rosalyn had stopped trying to get the ice off her mouth. It was really cold at first but after a while just went down what it felt like to have ac blowing on her face. In other words it felt nice. She held out her wrists and the earth bender came and latched the cuffs on. Rosalyn was able to get out of them once she can surely do it again. She saw Amelie start walking to the cars, which were luckily kept outside the dome. The earth bender lifted her off the ground and shoved her towards the car. "I have a place I used to live in whole I was stationed here. I guess the agency kept it and just had other agents use it when needed. We can head there and I'll contact the chief.

Larassa smirked when Amelie froze Rosalyn's mouth shut, finding it wholly amusing. Yet, when Larassa saw Amelie stumble, she narrowed her eyes, wondering what Amelie had done in the dome to make herself so weak. She definitely needed to rest soon or she'd be endangering herself and those around her. As the earthbender helped Rosalyn off the ground and then began making their way to a car in the parking lot nearby, the anti-gravity agent silently followed after them. Larassa pulled up the rear, keeping an eye on Rosalyn in case she tried anything. After all that had happened recently, Larassa really wasn't in the mood for anymore rebellious nature. Listening to what Amelie had to say, Larassa promptly replied, "Sounds good." Though, upon hearing that Amelie was going to contact the chief, Larassa winced, knowing that he was going to be seriously displeased to hear what had happened at the prison. They seriously should've sent Tucker to that Cataracta Prison.

In the medical bay, Tucker let out a small sigh, as his injuries had mostly healed at this point leaving him with slightly bruised ribs. He could still hear people shouting outside and he wanted to make sure Kytha was okay. She had to be okay. Slowly swinging his legs over the bed he was on, Tucker then winced as he pushed himself up into a sitting position and then stood up from his bed. He hissed at the throbbing from his ribs, but knew he had to get outside and help anyway he could. Within seconds, the chair at the door had been removed and Tucker briefly said to Matthew nearby, "Keep everyone here safe, I have to go." With that said, Tucker was gone in a flash, appearing at Xander's side in seconds. Skidding to a halt, Tucker doubled over for a second, clutching his aching ribs before he slowly stood up straight again. Quickly looking around the group, Tucker's eyes widened at the sight of Hayden's mangled body, already being able to tell that he was dead. Shifting his gaze to Kytha, Tucker took an unsteady step towards her and then said, "Kytha, what's going on here? Are you okay?"

Amelie decided to take the driver's seat. The earth bender went into the back seat with Rosalyn next to him in the middleseat. Once everyone got in Amelie took off. The dome would hold for a while until someone broke it but she wasn't about to wait and see. It took almost two hours for them to reach their destination. ~Ulm, Germany. Had a lot of memeories here.~ Amelie had always wanted to bring Vulcan here and share her expeirence. She wasn't always hunting people down. They pulled up to a small two bedroom cottage in town. Amelie turned off the car and got out. "I'm going to apologize ahead if time. It's apologize small place for the five of us." The earth bender got out and then helped Rosalyn out of the car. She hadn't said anything the whole way because the ice had stayed on her mouth. Once they got inside though it melted away. Inside was more on the traditional side. It was homey, after all she called it home for almost a year. "Make yourselves at home. You," She said pointing at the earth bender. "Can you make a prison cell for her?" The earth bender nodded. "Good. Go outside. No one can see inside the back yard." The earth bender nodded and moved Rosalyn foreard.

Rosalyn wasn't too happy about that being stuck outside wasn't fun. Her gift wasn't useful for getting out of cells. Once outside the bender tapped his foot on the ground and some of the eat came up and formed a cell. He put her in there and clothed the 'door'.

Larassa sat beside Rosalyn in the car while the anti-gravity agent took the passenger seat. Everyone rode in silence until they arrived at the house. Hearing the options for the rooming, Larassa wasn't too content, but figured if she just walked in and claimed a room then nobody would argue with her. The anti-gravity agent entered the house after Larassa and curiously looked aeound for a bit before he sat down on the couch in the living room and let out a sigh of mixed feelings after everything he'd just been through. Larassa followed after Amelie though and asked her, "How long are we supposed to hole up in here?" Larassa wasn't too keen on staying in one place for too long, especially after the riot and everything had just happened. Who knew, one of the prisoners could've tried to follow them or something.

Kytha growled at everyone and when tucker appeared she even growled at him a little. "Everyone can back away, or I can mangle you so you are a Hayden look-alike." Her words were clear, slow, and harsh. Like small bullets just grazing the side of ones face. At that, she turned away and bent down to Hayden's poor body. It was so torn apart... She looked up and sighed before turning into her wolf form. Looking once more at Hayden, she tilted her head, threw back her ears, and let a mourning howl escape her body. "Your fight is over. May we meet again."

Xander made a move to go closer to Kytha, but Tucker immediately put a hand on Xander's chest and shook his head in a way of saying, not now. Xander furrowed his brows at Tucker, but decided against doing anything. He didn't need to further incite the group here. Yet, Tucker still took a tentative step towards Kytha himself even after telling Xander to stay back. Tucker figured if anyone could help calm Kytha, he could. At least, he hoped he could. Taking another tentative step towards Kytha while forcing himself to not rush to her side within seconds, Tucker then calmly said, "Ky, I know you've just gone through something very traumatic, but please don't maul me. I just want to give you a hug. I can only imagine how much pain you're in right now."

Piper remained silent and practically motionless, as she watched eveything happening before her. Deciding that her large dragon form wouldn't help anything right now, Piper closed her right eye and then slowly began to shrink in size, as she returned to her human form with her dragon wings tucked against her back and at a wingspan of 20 feet for her human size. The only reason her wings remained was because her right one still had the large tear in it. Wincing at the pain of shifting while injured, Piper then opened her right eye since her left one still had a burning sensation and was stinging constantly. Inhaling sharply at the pain in her left eye and right wing, Piper knelt down in the middle of the plaza, as she didn't have much energy left and was in a good deal of pain now.

"Well we should stay the night. I'm going to contact the chief as soon as I can. It's defiantly something I don't want to do but....we don't have much of a choice." She sighed and walked into the kitchen. She looked around and found it still had dry food stocked up. She decided to make some coffee. "We lost control of an entire prison and only the four of us made it out. Plus we need to deactivate everyone's watches." Amelie also didn't want to leave the country just yet. She didn't want to leave Vulcan behind.

Vulcan stayed back and watched everything unfold from a distance. When he noticed Piper shifting back into her half human, half fox and now surprisingly half dragon form, he trotted to her side and after quickly observing the damage on her wing and eye from a couple of steps, he shifted human and wiped his bloodied mouth with the sleeve of his suit while getting the two other pain killer injections from his pocket with his other hand, offering the syringes to her. "This will help with the pain." He had taken them in case his own pain returned but the healing serums had surely done their work. The only injuries left were some insignificant cracks on his ribs. The bigger wound was on the inside and it was one that would probably never heal.

Larassa took in everything Amelie said and followed after her into the kitchen. Seeing the place well stocked, Larassa wasted no time in grabbing some canned meat for herself to enjoy. It'd been a long day after all. While the meat heated up in the microwave, Larassa turned around and leaned back against the counter while saying to Amelie, "How do we deactivate the watches? I could do that while you talk to the Chief." She was already it cing to do something. Larassa had never been too good at sitting still for long periods of time if she wasn't doing anything productive.

Piper looked up when she heard Vulcan approach and reached up to take the painkiller injections from him before immediately stabbing one of them into her thigh and injecting herself. She then slipped the other one into a pocket of her leather jacket, which she'd stole along with a tank top, loose-fitting jeans, a leather belt, and a pair of Converse from the plane's cargo bay when she'd flown over here. Slowly, Piper stood up, inhaling slowly when she felt the painkiller kicking in. She still couldn't open her left eye since anything made it hurt tenfold, but it only throbbed a bit when she kept it shut. Her wing tear was reduced to a dull throb and she smirked at Vulcan before saying, "Thanks, wolfman. Nice kill, by the way." She then frowned slightly as she added, "Hayden more than deserved all of that."

"You did all of the work, o mighty dragon." he managed a small smile. "But let's not bring it up in front of Kytha, shall we?" he suggested quietly and gave the girl a side glance. She was mourning him after all. Vulcan didn't know the extent of their relationship but he sure felt really lucky at the moment seeing that sadness had taken over rage and lust for revenge. "Let's bring you to the medical bay first." With that said he came closer and offered her a helping hand. He would carry her if he had to.
