Glimmer had to hide a grin when Paton kept petting the hobbit. She followed them to the hobbit's office, amused that such a little fellow was in charge of a tavern.....and had such a fiery temper. She supposed she wouldn't want to get pet, but then again she liked it when people played with her hair. Radagast used to do that when she was younger and she was beginning to miss the little things he did like that.

Moon dropped his hand, hurt that his offered handshake was ignored. He shrugged it off considering the hobbit seemed to be in a bad mood anyway.

Bart stopped dead in his tracks. Talvin just rubbed his temples like he just had the biggest migraine hit him. At first, Bart then looked up at Talvin, and before he could say something, Talvin walked past him, pulling Paton away by the arm.

"Paton!" He snapped in a harsh whisper. "I dont know if I made it clear earlier, but he does not like being treated like a small child!! Just because I know him doesnt mean you can do what-"

"Marius!"

Talvin looked back at him.

"All of them will be staying here. They want to buy drinks, they pay double the price. Me. You. Talk upstairs."

Talvin just gave a nod, and then faces Paton with a glare. "Next time you meet something smaller and you want to pet it, DONT!"

Storming pass the group, he followed Bart up the stairs and behind a door. As soon as it closed, Bart started spouting a lot of verbal abuse rather loudly. Talvin's voice was heard also, trying to get Bart under control. A number of the patrons saw the commotion and already the murmurs were flying about the tavern.

((Sorry shadow, mispelt the last reply. He shook moons hand in the end))

Paton watched the little thing go up the stairs, suprised that it could lift its legs high enought to go up each step.

Toxin mumbled. He'd wanted a drink, but at twice the cost it was hardly worth it.

''Thanks ol'buddy oh pall.'' he said, tapping the back on Paton's helmet as he went outside.

Paton went to a table and sat down. The looked up the stairs, then back at the table. He didden't want to get anyone else mad, so he jsut sat and listened to the music.

When he finally got out of the tavern, Toxin searched for a tree to climb up. He saw one fitting of his ability and current annoyance and proceded to climb it. After reaching the top, he watched the stars, facinated by them and space.

''I wonder how far back I'd have to pull a bow back to fire a shot up there and hit a star....'' he said to himself.

Moon jumped a little, startled by how mad the hobbit got. Toxin went outside and Paton sat at a table. Moon hesitated then went to sit by Paton, keeping his chair several feet away in case Paton wanted to be alone.

Glimmer followed Toxin outside after a couple minutes, though she wasn't sure why she did it. She couldn't see him so she went and sat at the foot of a tree just out of sight of the tavern, though she could still hear if someone came out. She double checked to make sure she was alone then took out her wand. She twirled it around her fingers, humming quietly. She picked up a fallen twig and made it dance and sway in her hand. She gave it a small face, just for jollies.

Seeing Glimmer come out, Toxin sneakily got down from his tree, snuck over to hers and climbed up it. From above her he dropped a twig or two onto her head.

Paton looked over at Moon. He nodded at him.

"And dont get me started on that twat with the goats milk!" Bart ranted after his outburst.

"Ok, that was properly justified."

"Justified??"

"I mean when you panned his sausage and mash with the fish pot."

"Oh! Well that goes without saying..."

"Anyway! Bart? The route?"

"Right, right, right..." Moving over to his over-sized desk, he opened a drawer and pulled out a number of papers. "So, where is it you'll be heading?"

"Erebor." Bart suddenly looked up with surprise in his eyes. "Well, only as far as you can take us towards that direction."

"Marius," Bart spoke with sudden concern, "I know you must have a thirst for legend, but this is a bit more on the line of impossib- no, insanity!"

"Not my legend to choose. That character with the mask? His business is Erebor. I'm just providing the way and the blade."

Bart looked at him for a few moments, then sighed and pulled out a map from the bottom of the pile. "Well if you'd be that set for a death wish, I can guide you through to one of the crevices after a river that flows through into Mirkwood. Just be sure to avoid the woodelves. It's just on the fringes but I doubt they'd be willing to parlay on a first meet and greet basis."

"And you can get us there without trouble?"

"There's always trouble, but I reckon I can get you that far at least." Before Talvin could raise to say thank you, Bart held his hand up with a more tense look. "One more thing, Marius. Some people have been looking for you."

"What kind of people?"

"The kind that hold a grudge against Gondor, and the other kind that listen to another kind of people. About an heir to the Iron crown..."

Talvin found a tight feeling in his gut. "Who?"

"I just hear rumors lad, but more people are popping up. I even had rangers from Numenor of all places set up camp here a month back. They want a reason to kill people Marius, and you're description is getting a little clearer every time you draw that damned weapon."

"Bart, you know I-"

"Relax friend, this conversation ain't leaving these walls. Just tell me something. When you're noticed as something that rallies an army of cut-throats, dark warriors and maybe the occasional troll with a brain, what're you going to do about it?"

Talvin couldnt even answer that. His throat was dry with too many possibilities and fears of what would transpire.

"Gods forbid if that day comes, but if it day comes...I'll think of something. Now lets just get this route over with and go kill a dragon..."

Glimmer rubbed her head and looked up. She raised an eyebrow then looked back down at her dancing twig. "You have issues, buddy." She said.

Toxin, hurt by Glimmers reaction, sulked back to his original tree.

''Sometimes....people....phuum.''

Paton began to stare at Moon.

Moon looked up slowly and met Paton's eyes. He rubbed his face to see if he had something on it. "Is something wrong?" He asked uncomfortably.

Glimmer watched Toxin pout back to his tree. She sighed and got up and joined him, bringing the still dancing twig with her. She nudged him gently. "What's up, big man?" She asked quietly, trying to be nice.

Paton nodded and pointed at Moon's face, being unclear as to exactly where the 'thing' on his face was.

''Just, I mean, look at it all. Theres so much I won't be able to do or see.'' Toxin didn't look at Glimmer as he spoke instead keeping his eyes fixed on the stars.

The man, now fully healed, walked throughout the fire and emerged a while away from the tavern.

''HELLO MY LOVES!'' he screamed, unleashing a torrent of fireballs at Toxin and Glimmer in the trees.

Those inside the tavern are safe from the fire, but Glimmer and Toxin will need to dodge the fire's.

Roll +30 to dodge, no chance critical fail.

15. (Bloody hell).

Toxin is hit by a fireball and falls to the ground. Upon impact most of the fire is extinguished but the fall coupled with the fire causes him great pain.

Paton thought he heard something and stood up, unsheathing his sword.

Moon frowned and wiped his face again. He didn't feel anything and he shook his head in confusion.

Glimmer smiled. "All you have to do is---" She was cut off by a fireball....

[dice]5103[/dice]

She didn't roll fast enough and was thrown into the tree. She wasn't on fire for long either but she was in pain. She reached blindly for her wand but couldn't focus.

Moon went after Paton, drawing his sword as well.

Running outside Paton saw the strange man and ran at him. He suddenly remembered that he had left his shield with the elves and was sad. Then he was angry.

He ran at the strange man and attempts to tackle him:

69

Tackling the man successfully he and Paton fell to the floor.

''You bastard! Now I'm dirty.'' the man struggled under Paton.

Toxin got to his feet and grabbed his bow and an arrow. At this distance and with Paton and the man grappling the shot was too risky.

He took aim at the man, waiting for a chance to shoot.

+5 to next attack roll.

(Just curious, should I go with the 14 or the 5 roll?)

Moon stayed back so he wouldn't get hit by their grappling but he was sure to be ready in case Paton needed help. He rubbed his non-sword hand along his face, still puzzled by what Paton had motioned. He shook his head to refocus on the fight. Glimmer..... A quiet voice in his head said. He looked around and saw her on the ground. "Toxin?!" He yelled, seeing that Toxin was closer. "What happened?" He asked.

(I'd stick with the 14. It dozen't really matter thought.)

''Hell if I know. He turned up again but actually hurt us this time. Let's put him in the ground.'' Toxin began to walk forward a little, getting better aim at the man.

+5 to next roll hit.

The man was annoyed now.

He tried to throw Paton off him with a stream of fire and...

20

C
ritical fail.

The man's spell backfired sending spasms of down both his arms leaving him unable to defend himself.

Paton sat up whilst still holding the man down with his lower body.

He attempted to punch the man in the face and...

49

Man unable to block due to spasms.

Paton punched the mans face into the dirt.

Glimmer's hand found her wand and she pushed herself off the ground. She narrowed her eyes when she saw the man. She shivered and made her way closer, making sure not to get in the way of Toxin's arrows, should he decide to fire. She clenched her wand tightly and glared at the man.

Moon relaxed when Glimmer got up, though he was slightly intimidated by the anger on her face. He took a couple steps closer to where Paton sat on the man, but it looked to him like Paton had it under control for now.

+5 on next role for Glimmer.

''Can't you separate them somehow Glimmer?'' he then saw Paton punch the man in the face ''...actually, scratch that. GO PATON!'' he said, still aiming.

+5 to aim.

The man, now very annoyed, looked up at Paton.

''You little shit, FRY!'' he said, attempting to breath fire at Paton and...

19

Critical fail.

The man chokes on the fire as he tries to breath it out.

Paton went in for a follow up punch with his left hand and...

1

Critical fail.

His hand, missing the man, hit the earth, hard. Paton breaks his hand. On the ground. He rolls off the man in pain.

Toxin, ready to fire, shoots the arrow and...

+15 to roll.

40

The arrow hits the man in the side between the ribs.

Glimmer put a bubble over the man after Paton got up. The man shouldn't be able to get out but their weapons should be able to get in. "Was that a special arrow?" She asked Toxin.

(Small thing, you have to cast the spell, which means roiling. You have +5 thought so...)

((Ok, gonna need some help with the dice rolling, but I'll try to roll along with it.))

"Okay, now it's just a matter of-"

The sound of fighting was heard and Bart looked outside a makeshift window. "Marius, you might want to see this!"

Raising up from the chair, Talvin took a glimpse outside and saw what was going on. "Hell!!" He burst into a sprint and made his way down the stairs. Running with his bow and arrow drawn, he pointed it at the man, but with all the damage the man took to himself, along with the arrow in the rib, he seemed like a dead man anyway.

"Wow," Talvin said with a hint of humor, "you are awful at this sort of thing aren't you?"

[dice]5115[/dice]

Talvin fired his arrow, hoping to pin the mans leg, but instead it only wized past him taking a patch of clothing and hitting a tree.

[/QUOTE]
Talvin's arrow splintered upon release with half dropping out the window and the other half falling onto the floor next to him.

(10 is a critical fail, so you have to fail,
:/ )

Glimmer glared down at the man. "What's the game plan?" She asked Toxin without looking up.

Moon moved over to Paton and knelt down. "Are you okay?"

(Ok makes sense...)

Talvin looked down at his splintered arrow. "Well...shit." A fire controller and one that doesnt die easily. Talvin didnt want to resort to it but he needed answers and he doubted ordinary sword point wouldnt cut it. Dropping the bow, he charged forward while drawing his sword, attempting to tackle the man on the ground.

[dice]5118[/dice]

Talvin rammed into the man hard enough to send him on the ground with ease, and before the man could get up, Talvin was on him. Pinning him to the floor with his legs and free arm, and the Morgul Blade's tip resting on the man's throat.

"A magic user like you must be educated to a degree of that magic. Then you might know what this is. I sense one spark and your fate is sealed. Put. The fire. Away."

Glimmer released her bubble and went over to the man's feet.

(I'm so sorry guys.... :) )

[dice]5119[/dice]

She aimed a kick between his legs and just barely hit him, but it did have a little power to it still. She took a couple steps back and crossed her arms, letting Talvin do his thing.

Moon winced.
