Realistic or Modern The Zenith Project

Keith nodded slowly, letting it sink it. "Remembering everything..." He muttered before pulling out his stash of food that he was looking for. He was already hungry. As he did this he moved to his only other luggage in the room and opened it. Pulling out his vlothes and carefully putting them away thoughtfully. By type. That made him look organised he thought.

Keith turned to Fletcher and offered a very awkward smile. "Well, I look forward to rooming with you, you don't seem to be...such a bad person. I have..." He didn't want to say it since it made him embarressed. "My family says I have a bad temper so..yeah." he wasn't actually sure what he was ttrying to say.

Kara chuckled as she heard her voice come from her new roommate. "That's pretty cool," she bounced up and down on her bed excitedly. Being the only freak in an asylum for troubled youths she was the only one with an ability, so she was curious to see what else was out there. "As far as mine," she raised her hand, and her pillow floated off the bed and to her side and then with a flick of the wrist the pillow was sent across the room with a soft arc at her roommate

Samuel: Off Guard and slightly embarrassed, Samuel shifted a little and brought his hands up and folding them tight against his chest. "Uh....well in order. My thing is much like echolocation. I um.... I am indeed blind.... Max agreed to be my eyes. Because, besides my echolocation, I can keep myself from running into things but I'll still get lost." He paused and shifted closer to Max. "You stick to things? Like.... Can you climb on ceilings and what not?" He paused for a moment to think about it. "Will you not stick to the ball?" He asked Innocently

Fletcher smiled, "Nice to meet you too, I'm sorry if I talk too much. I know that can be annoying." He admitted, he figured it was better to get all the flaws out there right now. "I can't really help it. It's like my mind is going a million miles an hour." He finished up packing his clothes, but hesitated when he went to pull out his medication. Fletcher got migraines, and bad ones at that. Sometimes they would make him pass out, so his family took him to the doctor to get pain medication for him. They were kind of strong, so sometimes when he had a migraine it was just better to just sleep. He placed them on the night stand next his bed.

Conor: He chickled lightly. "Not unless I want it to, and I like to play fair. I promise I won't. Will you be able to play and know where the ball is?"

Samuel: Smiled and shook his head lightly. "I can in fact, but I do need a heads up before you throw it. I can hear the ball itself but I can get a precise placement if I make a noise like snapping. On the other hand, if you don't give me a chance to snap or something I'll just end up Flailing around like a fish out of water" He twisted his lips and shift his weight to his left foot. "I haven't quite figured out a better way to do it." He spoke with slight shame.

Alice caught the pillow and smiled. "That's awesome! You could turn off the light without moving from your bed! I've always wanted to do that!" She laughed, proceeding to throw up the pillow and pretending it could float before catching it again. "Its cool, how that probably works." She stated. "I can't make anythong fly hahaha."

.....

Keith shook his head. "I'd have to get used to it. If I'm sticking with you....Fletcher." That was a weird name. It sounded more like a last name. He shook his head before sitting oin the bed and opening his bag of Fritos and chewing them thoughtfully. "So do we get class assignments yet? How does that work?" He asked, wishing he had some chile to go with his chips.

He had heard the confusion in Keith's voice when he said his name. "It's not my actual name, "He started "Well I mean it is but it's my last name. I'm not a big fan of my first name." He explained. He chilled on his bed, looking at Keith's fritos. He hand't realized that he was hungry too. "I'm not sure, I just know we get the rest of the day to do whatever." Fletcher figured they would tell them how their system worked around here tomorrow. Hopefully not too early, he wasn't much of a morning person. "So speaking of which perhaps we should go learn our way around this place. Maybe stop by the cafeteria to get some chow how about it?" He smiled in a friendly way.

Keith almost dropped his fritos in surprise before holding them tighter. "You....want to go with me?" He asked, looking over Fletcher before putting his fritos away. "W-well, I'll go, but only because there might be food in the cafeteria!" He said in a slightly aggressive tone though he was oinly embaressed sinc ehe didn't think Fletcher would want to hang out with him. It made him happy, but he wasn't sure how to say that, so it came out angry instead... "I mean...sorry.."

Conor: "I'm sure you'll figure something out. Come on, the gym is this way. By the way, it's Max right? What can you do?" He started to walk down the hall.

-----

Max: He made small mumbling sounds, not really saying anything keeping his eyes trained on the ground. He could be nice, Max thought. He seems so, anyway. Of course, people like to wear masks. I'll just keep an eye on him.

Fletcher chuckled a little bit, but stopped because it could be taking as rude. "Well yeah, that bus ride was long and I'm starving. Not to mention your my roomie!" He smiled reassuringly. "That makes us friends, right?" He hadn't intended to make it a question, but in all honestly he was just as surprised he was getting a long with this guy. Most found Fletcher annoying and the only company he ever really had were his parents. But to Fletcher that never really counted. "Come on." He stood up and walked over to their door and started to head out, to go look at the directory in the unit's small common area. He then realized that there were probably others in the next room over, but decided meeting them could wait.

He stiffened when he heard him laugh before relaxing relaising that he wasn't completely maming fun of him. "Okay friends....I'll...I mean...you kind of remind me of someone I know so...I think we can get along." Indeed he had built up a lot of tolerance from his adoptive sibling. Who didn't come on this adventure since he had found something else he wanted to do. "You're both enthusiastic, and you both talk a lot...but unlike him you aren't....short. you aren't as short as him."

Samuel: He Fallowed carefully Sticking close to Max. At least he had hoped that's who he was standing next to. Once everyone shifted the waves got mixed up. Max was quiet though, So he was sure he was next to him. Conner spoke, but Samuel didn't hear any sort of response. "He's a tad..... um shy.... I suppose." Samuel leaned in, in attempt to whisper to Max alone. "Are you okay?" He inquired. Samuel had no clue what could be going on in Max's head, but he definitely cared enough to push to find out. Even if that means to push a little.

Kara laughed as her roommate played with the pillow. "It definitely has its perks..." Her voice kind of dropped off at the end, but she quickly perked up. "So...shall we take a tour of this place or what!?! There were a bunch of others here, might as well see who else is and what else there is in here before we have to follow their schedule for us" She sprung from the bed and mimicking the motion of opening the door, opened it even though she hadn't physically touched it

Max: "Yah" he whispered back. "I just don't have a good history with people, that's all." He decided to straighten up a little and see where they were heading. He needed to be there for Samuel, if nothing else.

Alice jumped when the door opened, before laughing. "Alright, let's go on an adventure then. Maybe I could find someone to help me..." She spaced for a moment before coughing shyly and laughing again. "Well then 'shall we take a tour of this place or what!?!'" She smiled slightly. "So Kara, where should we go first?"

After taking a glance at the directory Fletcher officially knew where everything was and of course, as always, he wouldn't forget it. The cafeteria wasn't very far away at all and so he looked over to Keith. "I remind you of someone? Cool." This kid was a bit strange but Fletcher liked it, he was far more interesting to talk to than anybody he had ever met at school. "Alright, well I figured out where the cafeteria came from, so let's go get us some chow huh?" He went ahead and walked to the door that lead out the hallway and made a left. "So, endurance huh? How far does that go? What all can you do with it. I'm guessing you don't get tired very quickly." Fletcher realized that he was bombarding Keith with questions, and that it could cause some stress, "Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just super curious. I'm really excited to see what everyone here can do."

"....nevermind. You're completely like Sight....I mean Clyde..I mean my friend..." Keith sighed, trying to remember each of the questions he had just been asked. Pretending he didn't just give away his friends name and member name for their neighborhood brigade. "Um for endurance...I can run for a really long time...I don't know how long...and I can take a lot of pain I guess. I once left my hands on the stove for a good minute...." He shrugged slightly. "I guess I don't get really tired that fast either..."

Samuel: Pressing his lips together he understood and nodded slightly. "It's okay though." He nudged ever so slightly with his elbow. "Everyone here is this way. So you shouldn't worry too much. They'll all understand I'm sure" A sense of strength over whelmed him. Though Max is his eyes he felt as though he could protect him too. That this poor kid was just as nervous as he and he needed to stand tall for him. Adjusting his body once more he walked strong and moved away from a defensive stance. Instead worked on making himself look confident. Keeping himself at perfect pace with Max.

"Wow that's really cool. Any healing factors? Or is it just the pain tolerance? And dang you'd make a great athlete." They kept walking along as they talked finally reaching the cafeteria. "Aw, yes. Finally I'm so hungry." He walked inside and the smell of food hit him instantly. It was a mix of things, burgers, fries, he thought he could even smell egg rolls. "Smells like they have a good variety." He walked over to the line and grabbed a tray, "Your ability is a lot cooler than mine. I basically just a book. I'm not sure what they'll have me do here. I hope it's not taking tests. I hate tests, I mean I know all the stuff they test me about but I'd rather just learn something new." He stopped there before he could start ranting off again.

"Just endurance, I don't heal that well unless I get treated..." He wasn't that good at making a good recovery time. Keith had to agree with him on the variety thing, it smelled great as well. He decided to take a tray as well and flood after him. Glancing at what was there to take. He paused, his eyes lingering the cafeteria before he payed attention to Fletcher again. Catch onto the ability thing. "I um, actually wish I had your ability." He said awkwardly. "I....I'm not very....good at studying." He didn't want to come right up and say he ultimately sucked because he had a hard time reading. He was bad at studying because he read the text too slow. He looked away and started pilng food on his plate. "But...that doest mean...I can't do things or anything. I'm plenty smart." He was saying the last part more to himself...

"Really? Most people just think I'm a know-it all. And nobody really likes those." Towards the end of his sentence his voice got a bit sad. He had been called names a lot in school. Kids were mean, especially when they didn't understand or felt threatened. Fletcher knew this, and always tried no to take anything they eve said to heart, but somehow it always still managed to hurt. "Looks like we are opposites, I'm no good at sports, I can't even run very long with out getting winded." He tried to sound happier this time, not wanting to be a downer. "So if we play doge ball or anything you don't have to feel bad about picking me last for the team." He said trying to make a joke.

Max: "Hey, is it ok if I just call you Sam?"

Conor: "Here we are. Wow, it's bigger than I expected. And look at that climbing wall! This is amazing!"

Keith wasn't really sure how to take that. "People generally left me alone...it was aperson like you that..kinda...I made friend with. HOWEVER! I-if you ever meet him you can't tell him that!" He was surprised by bow much he like Fletcher, possibly because he was familiar and such. It made him relax.

"I wasn't allowed to play dodgeball." Keith responded shyly. "When I got mad I'd throw the ball too hard and I gave someone a bloody nose." His parents were far from happy about that one and it caused some troubke for a few days. "So I'd be best you were on my team so I didn't hit you...or something." He stated, laughing softly.

Ivy quickly hurried to her room in effort to avoid the other students. When she got to her room she placed her bag on her bed. I'll put up my stuff later. She thought. Then she walked out of her room to explore the school.
