Fantasy The World Of Valor - With SugarBee And TryingToFindHope (Abandoned)

A corrupt country was never meant to last. One way or another it would go down. It was just a matter of time and patience. Something that most people were not willing to give. He understood that. Sometimes revenge was a quick solution, and so was murder. However, it was often easier said than done. Like in this case.

Starfall had never been a country that would be described as peaceful or even provide a good living standard for the majority of people. Yes, there were always worse places. Szczodre knew that all too well. He had experienced one of those horrific places all in his own way for way too many years. Though a lot of it was his fault he very much understood the consequences of disobeying such a system. Oppressive and harmful, the people of Starfall finally seemed to have enough as their old Emperor died and his child took the throne. Raised by a cruel person often made the children cruel as well, at least when they had no one to turn to.

Zodre had watched the happenings of Starfall with a concerned feeling. It was no surprise to him what had happened the last few weeks. It all escalated quickly, at least so those claimed who had not been paying attention. To him, it was no surprise that a rebellion had begun. Even less, it surprised him that Stroi got involved in this.

Of course, one could gain a lot from having helped a new ruler onto the throne... Though that were thoughts he let his brother think. Zodre was not stupid by any means, he was an intelligent man but he knew that his talent laid in fighting. Not necessary to hold political conversations. Nonetheless, he did not hesitate to agree to join his brother for the first meeting with the leader of the Starfall Rebellion. If only because he had heard that thisHóshkai had served in the military just like he did.

It also intrigued him solely for the fact that most Hóshkai were known to be a pretty friendly and peaceful race. They were not often found in military setting, so this was new, even for him. Sadly, he was not too well versed in Sibrendr, one reason for that was the lack of one arm which made sign language not easy to learn.

He knew his brother had some knowledge about it, though both of them were rather relieved that their guest, Cigris, would come with an Acediö who would translate his words for them. It was also another person that interested him. Acediös bruised easily and took so long to heal... This rebellion was truly a curious combination of various people. "Remember, they had a long journey ahead of them. Let me do the talking. I know you mean well but you tend to scare off every new people." Kazimerz sighed softly as he hurried along the path.

The ship the leader of the rebellion had just recently arrived. He had gathered his brother and immediately hurried through the town known as Wilshade. "If my presence frightens the leader of the rebellion then his place should be elsewhere." Zodre comment which made his brother close his eyes. He mumbled a little prayer before entering the townhall.

The sparkling man opened the door with a flourish, his lips curling into a bright grin while his younger brother trailed behind him. "Sir Cigris! Lady Nyrinn! What a pleasure to welcome you in our humble halls! I am Kazimerz, this is my brother, Zodre. We are from Clan Renaice and have been tasked with taking care of you. So please do not hesitate to ask us for anything." With a flourish he bowed, rosa hair flowing over his shoulders. "I hope your journey had gone by without any complications?" While he walked towards their two visitors, Zodre took a moment to look over them both. "Please, sit! We have prepared a meal for you already." He gestured to the table.

No meat was to be found on the table, though a large array of vegetables and fruits had been prepared in every single way possible. There was also, of course, many edible flowers and a large amount of honey on the table. "I hope that will appeal to you. Now, please, if you have any questions, I will gladly answer them for you."

Once his guests sat down Kazimerz did the same while his brother slowly joined as well. With his single arm he pulled out his chair before settling next to his brother. His gaze lingered on the Acediö. "You appear young." That was the first thing that left his mouth and Kazimerz looked at his brother like he would rather eat a lump of burning coal than sit with him at the table in this moment.

The noise of the village ahead became louder when she locked the shop behind her. Life of all kinds greeted her as the trail faded into a more or less proper street of stones. It made things easier, mainly for the carriages. There was only one street, going southeast to the nearest village. The island they were on was not particularly small and yet there were only four villages to be found here. It was typical for this country.

Stroi was known for its close connection with nature, which earned them incomprehension from a few who could not imagine foraging for their food any longer. Especially the Northlings often had a clear opinion about them. Backwater. Superstitious. Violent. Ignorant.

Amy loved this country. She did not have many memories of her childhood before Letha took her in but she remembered the cities of the north. Stuffed full of people. The starving and the sick. It was often dirty and there was nowhere to hide from the cruelty of what they dared to call modern. She would not call Estrain a beautiful country but that might just be her opinion.

Like so often she had been so lost in her thoughts that she had not noticed how far she walked already. However, the shouting of vendors trying to sell their wares caused her to finally understand that she reached the market already. The lapping of waves was a soothing backdrop that people often started to unknowingly ignore when they lived long enough close to the shore. At least so she had been told. To her, the sound of waves would forever be actively a part of her life. She wondered if those traveling so often by ship were used to the noises of the ocean or were just as aware of it as she was.

It was tempting, the idea of exploring the world. She had traveled a little with Letha as she was still younger. That had not lasted long. Settling down in Bramble was a wonderful decision but today she would experience something else.

A longing expression took over her face as she turned around to the shop one last time. Hopefully, she would be back soon... For now, she needed to make her way to Amberbrook all on her own. It was a larger town. A coastal one. With the letter in her hand, she made her way towards the ship that was about to leave. It was not a pleasant reason for her to visit the mainland. Letha, the woman everyone simply knew as her mother, had been picked up days ago by Kára already, the leader of the Ashbattle family.

Amy had to make sure the shop was well taken care of before she would leave, that took a few days. Now she was ready to move after them and also fulfill the task that had been given to her. It should not be too difficult...

Hours passed by and when the witch reached Amberbrook she was astonished by the sheer amount of people moving around by the port. At least the man she was supposed to look for was not common in Stroi. Tövabin were rare in Stroi and a mixed blood perhaps even more so. More or less confidently she approached the first man who fitted the description she had been given.

"Greetings, are you ivanski Novàk by any chance?" In front of him stood a short, stout woman who extended a letter towards him with a wax-seal he had grown familiar with throughout the last few days. "My name is Amy, Amy Soleil. You have been exchanging letters with Kára Ashbattle for a while now, correct?" The Chief had been gathering a variety of people since they got involved with Starfall, including people with a good fighting reputation. Or those who had another important trait that could be useful in the future.

One might argue those people would surely not be the most loyal but some people had their own reasons, others could be convinced with enough coin. Kára was willing to take that risk.

"My sister would have picked you up herself but her guests have arrived sooner than planned, that is why I am here now." Kára was not really her sister. Latest when the two women stood next to each other that fact was evident. However, since Letha had helped raising Kára as well, both women were often around each other and developed that bond.

She corrected the cloak hanging from her shoulders a little. "The letter proves my words, now, if you are ready, we should get moving. It will take us some time to arrive where we are meant to be, so we have no time to lose. In Oakhaven some Drün will be waiting for us which will make our journey quicker and easier but first, we have to get there. So, unless you have questions, I am ready to go when you are."
