Down the dark empty hallways of the forbidden parts of the castle, John walked. Each step heavier than the one before he stopped in front of a wide window and looked outward at his kingdom. Four years on the throne, the rumors have not gone past his ears. He can feel the tension growing, sensing the anger of his people. Am I doing what’s right? For them, for me? He looked back at the halls that he grew up in. The halls that hold such fond memories of his childhood. Clutching the hilt of his sword tightly as a cold wind rushed by, blowing away the warm memories replacing them with the cold truth of the inevitable.

He let out a long sigh, letting his shoulders roll back. Looking out from the window once more before continuing down the forgotten hall. He was heading to their room. After their death John sealed off this section of the castle to preserve their memory. Only the royal family is allowed back here, no exceptions. John patrols the halls occasionally to make sure nothing is out of place. However, when he came to his parents room he couldn't bring himself to enter. Whispers from behind, chased him and ran up his back. He whipped his head around only to see nothing behind him. Staring at his parents door one last time he solemnly walked away.

Turning a corner he heard footsteps coming towards him. A young servant timidly walked down the halls towards him. The king's rage was building as he watched the servant boy grew closer. John took three steps and towered over the servant, his eyes full of hate. "What part of forbidden to all, except the royal family is not clear to you servant?" He gripped the servants throat in one hand and lifted him up to his eye level. "Speak while you still can."

The servant cocked and gasped as he forced out the words. "S-sire, your pre-ah-presence is required in the throne room." The servant's feet dangled from the ground as his King's hand was like a noose around his neck. "I have not seen your face before boy, are you new?" The servant nodded as best he could, "yes sire, I-I s-s-started a month ago." The King stared at the servant boy, "your elders told you to come in here didn't they?" The boy averted the king's gaze. The King tiled the boy's head to him as he looked deep into his eyes before letting him go.

The servant fell to the ground and coughed as he could breathe once more. The King looked down at the servant, and spoke in a dark tone. "Never roam these halls again servant." He turned around and walked away. However, he stopped and spoke again, "boy. Your courage is admirable. Know that if they try to take you out. You are succeeding where they aren't. Keep up the good work. " He walked onward and out the door.

A while later he walked out of the left corridor of the throne room. Hand still held firmly to his sword he walked up the stairs to his throne. He inspected the large metal throne for a moment, before turing around and reinserting himself. The throne felt like a pice of him, the base that fuels his power. He stood up straight, rested his and against the armrests and waited.

Carla woke up early that morning like she did everyday. She sat up, yawned and stretched out her arms. She slowly got up then looked out the window. "Looks like anice day." She walked up to the door and opened the window but the moment she did she quickly shut. "Man it's freezing out there!" She walked over to her closet and got dressed. She made sure to dress warm. After she was done walked out of her room closed the door behind her and went down the hall. She then went and checked on all the guards to make sure security was tight and no one was sleeping on the job. Part of her job was keeping security around the castle intact. After she was done she went into the kitchen and grabbed some breakfast then headed to the throne room. Sometimes the king had things that he needed his captain or knights to take care of. When she arrived at the throne room she noticed that he had just arrived himself. She walked up to the throne and bowed slightly. "Morning my King anything that need to be done?"

Sasika
and Jasmine Beckenskach

Sasika woke up early as always. The servants came in and helped her dress, but she did her own hair. She sat there and brushed her hair out thinking. Just recently she had been thinking about the kingdom and her idiot nephew ruling it. She wanted that crown and she was tired of being seen as helpless. So she decided she would take matters into her own hands. But at the moment she really hadn't any plans yet. Right now she would just observe and see what happens. Then hopefully she will get and idea. After she was done with her hair. She stood up ever so gracefully and had great posture. She headed to her daughter's room to see if she was up yet and ready for breakfast.

Jasmine was still sound asleep in bed. She always sleeps in and her mother always get's so irritated with her. Jasmine was dreaming sweet dreams but was abruptly awoken by a loud voice. "Jasmine! Are you still in bed?! Get up right this instance!" Jasmine had sat up totally freaked out but when she saw it was her mother fussing she got right back under her covers ignoring her. "Jasmine! You know better then to ignore me like that get up!" She walked over to Jasmine's bed and pulled the covers off her. Jasmine opened her eyes and looked at her irritated. "Mother come on can't I ever sleep in?" Sasika walked over to her daughter's closet. "Of course you can" She started looking through her dresses. Jasmine's face lit up. "I can??" Saiska continued looking through the closet. "Yes you can...when your sick." Jasmine smiled faded and she got out of bed. "Jeez your always so strict." Her mother pulled out a dress and laid it on Jasmine's bed. "Jasmine if you would act more like a lady I wouldn't have to. Do you realize that you are part of the royal family? People of our status must act a certain way. I refuse to let my daughter act like some commoner on the streets." Jasmine sighed and mumbled under her breath. "At least they get to have fun." Sasika walked to the bedroom door. "What was that dear?" Jasmine quickly changed her tone of voice and smiled. "Nothing mother." Sasika opened the door and looked and called out for a servant. "Theria!"

Sasika looked at Theria and spoke in a demanding tone. "Get my daughter ready for the day and be quick about it." She started to walk away then stopped and turned around and looked back at her. "And do not let her run off make sure she heads straight to the dining room." @Saruwatari Tomohisa Sasika walked down the hall and headed to the dining room. On her way there she passed by the throne room and noticed Captain Carla walking in. "Mmm I wonder what's going on?" She wanted to listen in but she didn't want to be seen. When the two guards closed the doors she got an idea. She looked at one of the guards and motioned him to come to her. "Want to earn 100 gold coins?" The guard smiled and nodded. "I want you to do something for me. Listen to the conversation they are having in there. Then when they are done come tell me what you heard. Then I'll pay you." The guard agreed and walked back to the throne room door. He opened it ever so slightly and listened into what they were saying. Sasika continued her way to the dining room.

Wilhem Schneewald

The old man was roaming about in the hallways in search of attending nobles who had a harder time getting out of bed and occasionally running into some maids who too have arrived to do a number of chores.

"You there," Wilhem raised his voice at a young male servant. The boy stands two heads shorter than Wilhem, had short orange hair, brown eyes, a smooth untouched face and wore a lightly tanned sleeved shirt that is being complimented with his dark brown trousers and his black serf boots. From his face the man could tell that he was no older than fifteen and might have the potential to be a clumsy servant. The servant jerked up and froze on the spot.

"Yes, Mr. Schneewald?"

"Why're you here?"

"S-sir." The boy began to stammer as he tried not to avert his gaze from the man's dark blue eyes.

"I finished bringing away the bed sheets and undergarments of the inhabitants and eventually found myself without a purpose."

"Mmm..." He groaned and blinked at the youngster.

"Hallway boy, You're supposed to help clean the undergarments and bed sheets - not just deliver them."

"O-Oh!" A panicked expression could be seen on the ginger's face.

Satisfied with the boy's reaction the old man grabbed the boy's right shoulder and softly smacked with his gloved hands a number of times against the boy's opposite shoulder.

"Chop-chop!"

"Yessir!" The boy hurriedly walked away.

Luther J.Ferdinand

"Hey. Don't step out of line, woman." The captain said as while walking through the door of the lord's assembly hall.

"We all have to be here first before the king starts giving us orders," Luther pointed his finger at the pink haired show off.

"You aren't an exception." He brought his finger down and began to walk towards Casandra.

Luther had on an odd attire. His tunic displayed a vibrant amount of purple and orange colors displaying themselves in the forms of flowers and ripples. His sleeves dragged successfully hiding the lower arm proportion and his thick hands. A white wolf pelt wrapped around his belly, masking whatever pockets and concealed objects he had around his waist. The man's pants was made of a dark yet highly reflective textile material, where from one angle it would look completely white and without a light source it'd look warm black. His Boots were the only thing that seemed less flamboyant and normal from everything he wore.

He stopped, stood maybe a meter or so next to Carla with his arms folded tightly against his chest and eyes glaring at the entrance of the assembly hall.

Tristan Agro had awoken and had immediately begun his routine. He dressed in the same attire everyday and his manners, style of clothing and everything on him seemed...perfect. "Good morning," he said to fellow servants before the Royal Advisor picked up a fresh glass from a lady.

"Sir I must take this to the Prince and..." she paused as Tristan placed a finget over her lips.

"Do not fret I shall wake the Prince up, I know I'm not a servant but he won't get so angry," Tristan smiles before heading back down the halls towards the Prince's quarters.

"Young master, it's time you wake up, everyone is gathering in the throne room and you're going to be late," he opened the door and placed the requested wake up drink on the bedside before entering the Prince's closet and pulling out some clothes. "As Royal Advisor I must ensure that you are also kept in check and attend all the meetings with your father, do hurry along now," and just like that, Tristan turned gracefully on his heel and headed towards the throne room.

Entering on the opposite doors to the Guard he walked quickly and stood by, but lower down, the King's Throne. "Sire, your son is still in bed, I have awoken the Young Master, he shall be here soon," he whispered as he looked at the Guards, then bowed to the King.

Eren Weiss

A young man stood without purpose in the hallway staring at the surface of the window. The sun bathed the tips of the building segments and towers in a soft orange light, dark blue shadows shadowed the frost covered gardens that seemed to glitter with every time he tried to turn away from the window and the occasional song birds would escape from his view and fly off into the large empty sky over yonder. The man grabbed the sides of his elbows and leaned against the window's counter.

"So free." He whispered under his breath as he watched a small brown fluffy looking sparrow glide through a thermal wind.

He envied the small avian creature. It's living a life free from darkness, a life that's not being weighed down upon the guilt, the responsibility of taking another man's life and the dreams that those people had. Eren's right hand balled into a tight fist and his heart felt wrapped by tight string of linen. He inhaled deeply, held his breath for a short while and exhaled. He's calmed down and the chains inside his chest have loosened.

"So free..." he quietly repeated.

Sebastian Ritter & Lenard Stressing

Two masculine men arrived in appropriate attire to the assembly hall or throne room of the palace. The two men have done a number of things in the morning. They woke up, they ate breakfast, went jogging for a bit, took a short bath, dressed themselves up and arrived to serve the king.

"Good morning, my King."

"Good morning, majesty."

The throne room is a vast and empty place. In the past there were knights and loyal friends who cared for their King. The previous king, of course. Now the emptiness of the throne room was a reflection of the current king, empty and alone. Suddenly there was a unfamiliar sound as someone entered the empty throne. John watched as his Captain of the Knights walked up towards him. He leaned back in his throne and looked onward as she bowed. A slight smile formed on his face as her presence was a soft comfort. However, his smile faded as she stood up. Once his friend, he couldn't risk getting too close to her, not as he is now.

He stroked his chin and leaned to the left staring around the empty throne room. From the corner of his eye he saw a dark flash. The past? The present? No... He focused his icy blue eyes on Carla. Speaking slowly and in a deep voice, "Captain Evermore, bring me all the knights available. I have a certain task that I wish to have done." He turned his head into the light and sighed, his blue eyes showing a hint of sadness. "Also find Carlisle and Aki, I want them here as well. You have one hour, Captain. Bring me who you can." He averted his eyes away from her, "that is all."

@animegirl20

As soon as the king finished his sentence the royal advisor came into view. The King leaned back to the upright position. "Thank you Royal Advisor Argo. If it were not for you I'm certain my brother would stay in bed for eternity." He looked to his advisor, one of the few men he kept in his inner circle. "You may rise, Advisor Argo as we have much to discuss." He turned to Carla, "you have your orders Captain Evermore, one hour."

As two more knights arrived he bowed to each of them. "Knights Ritter and Stressing, welcome. I have an assignment for the both of you in a moment." Turning back to Tristan he spoke softly, "any news of the Rebels? They seem to have grown quiet as of late."

Down the hallway, faint footsteps could be heard, approaching quickly. The Princess was walking down the brightly lit corridor, attempting to get to the throne room. She had to check in with her brother to see if there was anything that needed her assistance, but Aki wasn't in a working mood today. In fact, she didn't feel like doing anything today. It was a bit of an off day for her, and she couldn't figure out why.

As she continued down the hall, her eyes caught sight of a guard standing idle by the window. She didn't know the name of the fellow, but she could read him like a book. He seemed to be a loner, one who wishes to be free from this world, and may even be weighed down by his decisions. A small smirk appeared on her face as she felt alike teasing the poor guy. Walking up to him, Alo stopped a few feet away from him and cleared her throat. "Excuse me, but what is a guard doing off duty?"

@NeoLeaf

((Yes, yes I did, it's 3.35 am, don't worry I'm going to sleep after this post >.< ))

Tristan chuckled as he rose upwards. "Then I'm glad I'm here," he then proceeded to stand quietly and gracefully as he looked over at everyone else. Deep in thought about the King's question.

"Nothing that I know of I'm afraid, what you know about them, I know about them," Tristan sighed as he placed his gloves hands behind his back and awaited everyone else. He's probably gone back to sleep...

"Excuse me," a voice had startled him off guard and on reflex would have made him punch the owner of the voice in the face. He slowly began to turn his head to see who was trying to converse with him.

"But what is a guard doing off duty?"

His blank red eyes gazed upon a woman about the same size as he was. She had pretty long silver hair and two braids that seem emerge from under the sides of her bangs rested upon her chest. Her skin that looked as smooth as a baby's and almost as pale as as the milk that he'd drink in the morning. Her eyes were big, looking at her grey bluish pupils it would remind him of the vastness of the sky and the beauty of the winter frost. Her nose looked cute and her thin pillowy lips matched her white complexion.

He kept silent and didn't dare look any lower than he had to because her eyes had caught his. He frowned and began to reply to the woman.

"I am not a guard nor am I off duty."

"I am a knight." He hesitated at first but managed to reveal his position to the woman.

Aki Beckensach

A small smile crept onto Aki's face, her hands interlocking below her stomach. A guard and a knight were two very different things in her mind. A guard was just a loaf who got payed to stand still all day, and rarely got to see any action. They didn't deserve any respect whatsoever. There were a few exceptions of course, like Carla who had saved her brothers life. But that group was a minority. A knight however, is someone on the front lines, someone who risks everything for the safety of the royalty. A knight is someone who deserves respect for what they do, and her messing around time was over. "My apologies good knight. I shouldn't have been so rude. Please, continue on with what you were doing." She said, taking a step forward and looking the window. Her eyes caught sight of the beautiful bird and she assumed that was what the knight was watching. "Birds truly are a magnificent creature. The way they move, the power they have, I envy them. Sometimes I wish I could fly, but that would label me as a supernatural creature. Speaking of which, have you killed any of those beasts? And if so, how many?" Aki had no idea that she might've been pressing the wrong buttons, her gaze returning to his.

"My apologies good knight. I shouldn't have been so rude. Please, continue on with what you were doing." The white woman said.

Eren gave her a small head nod to indicate that he didn't really mind. In the corner of his eye he caught a black fuzzball speeding away from the window - it was another sparrow flying around and away from the palace grounds. He reacted accordingly by returning his gaze towards the window and shifting his weight a little bit to make himself a comfortable.

"Birds truly are a magnificent creature." She spoke in a low and paced tone.

"The way they move. the power they have. I envy them." There was a pause between the two.

"Sometimes I wish I could fly but that would label me as a supernatural creature." Eren's ears felt a 'ring' when she mentioned the word 'supernatural' and listened very closely to what she had to say.

"Speaking of which, have you killed any of those beasts? And if so, how many?"

Eren released the grip of his elbows and folded his hands together. He can recall the events as clear as day and the woman had sparked a part of his head and forced a number of memories up from his grayed conscience. Images streamed from his head and stopped at a scene where he was beginning to fight off a snake woman or lamia of sorts. The torso was covered in hard leather armor, she wielded a broadsword and her eyes glowed angrily at him. The lower portion was that of a purple snake, the scales were so tough that trying to slice her was a futile action. The way she fought him was pretty life threatening - She kept going around him, charging her humanoid part at him with a compelling force and eventually manage to bind him with her other half.

He remembers how he defeated her but doesn't want to delve too deeply in his memories to see what had exactly happened after the climax. He noticed his right hand was shaking uncontrollably and he took his time to breathe slowly and let out his frustration. He turned around to look back at the pale woman's crystalic blue eyes and nodded.

"Yes. One." He averted his gaze for a moment.

Aki's watched as the knight went silent, memories of the past filling his mind. She could tell that this troubled the man, but was it because he killed it, or because it hurt him. Nonetheless it's still one less scum on this planet, and that should be a victory. Her eyes caught a glimpse of his right hand which seemed to be shaking, his breathing slowing down. Something bad obviously happened, and she decided it would be best not to delve into the matter any more. Her soft hand was placed on top of his, cold from the chilly temperature. She looked into his eyes the best she could and gave him a reassuring smile. "The princess thanks you for your service. You truly are making a better world to live in."

The knight felt a wave of relief in his heart and Eren gave the pale stranger a light smile.

"I thank you, noblewoman, for sharing those kind words with me."

Eren backed off from the window's small counter and rose up to his regular posture. He felt that he had wasted enough time here and needed to report to his majesty's side along with the captains and the people of the court. Before he could turn around he stopped in mid step when a thought had streamed into his head. Should he ask her for her name? Before he could think about it his body seemingly moved on its own.

"Before I report to the king - May I ask you for your name?"

  • Carlisle Beckenskach

    ~Prince of the Kingdom~

    Location: Prince's Ward/Bedroom>Throne Room

The prince rolled over in his sleep, his nearly white blonde hair a mess around his face and sprawled out along his pillow. He had failed to tie it up last night because he was far too tired to do much after his shower the night before. He had busied himself with papers and fencing/swordsman classes for hours of both activities yesterday, and, frankly, he had been exhausted. Even so, a voice called, following the opening of his room door. It was the voice of his brother's adviser, informing him that it was the time to wake up, and that everyone was gathering in the throne room. He made a small noise before attempting at sitting up and swiping his long hair away from his face with drowsy fingers.

By the time that he had risen, Tristan was gone, having left him with a change of clothes and some iced tea. It was his preferred drink that he had requested every morning; the cold yet sweet taste of the tea had always assisted him in waking up in the morning, because he was not a morning person. Carlisle was his name, and he ran a hand through his hair, almost in a slight attempt in brushing and untangling his tousled locks. Sleep in his case was almost always unforgiving, leaving his long hair strewn in a mess. It was just something he had to get used to.

He shifted on his bed, as he swung his legs over the side of his bed. His legs were long enough to almost touch the floor off of his massively tall bed as he pushed himself off of the bed to stand to his feet. Carlisle had a liking for sleeping only in sweatpants, that being because it was uncomfortable otherwise in his opinion. Either way, he wrapped his long fingers around the cold glass on top of his royal dresser, and touched the edge of it to his lips and tipped it back, the cool liquid running down his dry throat. It was very refreshing, so Carlisle proceeded to drink from the clear glass until nothing but ice remained. He set down the glass and began to dress in the garments that had been lied out for him. He removed his sweatpants and pulled on a pair of nice dark pants, pulling out a belt and threading it through the belt loops.

He picked up the light colored button up top and stuck his arms through it and began to thread the buttons through the proper holes. He then retrieved a brush from his own personal bathroom that was connected to his room and placed it on the expensive granite counter. Carlisle then splashed water on his face before brushing out his light blonde hair. Rather than tying it back like he usually would, the young prince left down his hair, the wavy locks falling to the middle of his back.

He had soon retreated from his bedroom and made his way down the hall and towards the throne room. He had soon entered, and his eyes had caught his brother's own as the first thing that he had seen, the king being seated in the straight center of the first sight of the room that anyone would see. John sat upon his large throne chair, talking to his adviser, the one who had awaken Carlisle that morning. He greeted his older brother with a gentleman's bow. He hated the concept of 'bowing before his king', seeing that the king was his overly ambitious brother. His ambition will bring either him or this kingdom to ruin, Carlisle thought as he stood up tall after being bent at the waist to bow.

"I am here, King John." he said to him, the horrid words of greeting the man who was his older brother feeling like poison as it escaped his lips. He had learned how not to put his emotions into his words. For if he had not, he would have spoken to John in a painfully sour manner. But Carlisle was better than that. No matter how much he disliked it, he would treat the king with respect.

Aki turned to face the knight, her friendly smile not leaving her face. It seemed that the boy was going to her brother to report on what she assumed was the war against beasts. It seemed that they were heading in the same direction and this excited her. She desperately wanted to know how the Knights were doing, wanting to hear that they wiped out a settlement or were victorious in battle. Any good news would be good however.

When he asked for her name, Aki was a little surprised. She was the princess of the kingdom, and though she wasn't the king her name should be well known. But another thought popped into her head. What if this was the first time that the boy has came back? If he had been on the front lines for so long then that'd be understandable, but she liked her name, and him, so the princess wouldn't give him such a hard time. Besides, if the Knights didn't like the royalty then their motivation and ability to fight would decrease, leading to defeat. Staring the knight in the eyes she spoke, her voice soft and deliberate.
"My name is Aki Beckenskach, Princess of the kingdom. Who might you be?"

Eren's blank red eyes lit up for a moment and his body acted on his own gain. He quickly dropped to one knee and supported himself on another leg. His torso bent forward, his head had bowed down towards her and he stared towards the ground.

"Apologies ma'am for not knowing beforehand."

"As for who I am... My name is Eren Wiess, a knight whose sworn fealty to his great majesty, King John Renouart Beckenskach and all of his legitimate heirs." he replied in a rather snappish tone. The knight awaited the princess to command her to raise his head so that the two of them wouldn't be too late for the king's assembly.

Jasmine watch Theria as she walked into the room and asked what she wanted to wear. "Oh! Mother already picked out the dress. It's right here on the bed." She said pointing to it. She then walked over to her window and looked out side. It was so cold out today that she was hoping for snow but there was none. "I wish it would it snow....if it did then I could go outside and build a snow man!" She said excitedly but a second later her smile dropped. "But mother probably wouldn't let me." She sighed then turned around and smiled again. "Well come on! I have to hurry or mother won't let me eat if I'm not at breakfast soon." @Saruwatari Tomohisa

Aki placed her hand lightly on his left shoulder, her other hand tilting his head up. "Stand Eren. As much as I like it, this is no time for formalities. The king is waiting and we mustn't be late. So rise, dear knight, and let us continue to the throne room." Her voice was soft and heartfelt, something that most people didn't expect to hear from her. She didn't care for most people in the kingdom with the exception of her siblings, niece and the Knights. Without waiting she set off towards the throne room at a pace that was easy to catch up with.

(Sorry I was in environmental science and digging holes in mud while raining couldn't really respond xD )

Theria looked over to the bed and nodded walking over to Jasmine to get her undressed so she could dress into the dress. Listening to her exitment turn to slight sadness and her other words. "Well a young noble lady has their appearance to keep. I am sure she only has your best intrests in mind." Her tone was soft and warm.
