Fantasy The True Strength of The Warrior

She shook her head, "my injuries are not terminal," She rubbed her stinging head as she'd only be temporary lightheaded for a few moments, "He needs it more than I do."

"You can't be feeling that great" he said he looked at the side of her head and saw a decent amount of blood and a decent sized bruise forming she was also a little pale " You sure? he asked

She took a deep breath, "I'm fine... just take care of him."

"Very well" Isaac said using the bandages on the knights body then sitting by the fire warming up from his own dive off the cliff "What will we do if the soldiers show up?" he asked

She sat still for a moment, thinking deeply about the question, and then she spoke firmly, "I will fight them."

"Alone? With the injuries you have I think not." Isaac said in a serious tone "This time even if you tell me to not interfere or order me not to interfere I won't listen." Memories of his village came back as he spoke the words

She let out a small grunt, "I can't let them harm any of you..." She sighed as her hand formed a tight fist, holding it over her heart, "I still... have to live for someone, someone who needs me, that's what she keeps telling me."

"And I swore that I would not let anyone die and that I would save whoever I could after I caused the destruction of my village." He choked back a sob "So no matter what you tell me I will fight no matter what."

She understood she wasn't going to be able to sway him, "Fine... but if the time comes, and I say run, run... A hero can't do this world any good dead.

Adrian stood, grabbing his crossbow from the rock it was propped up on. "I'm going hunting. Ill bring a deer back with me when I return." He felt uncomfortable being around so many warriors. He wanted to at least feel useful.

"Regardless... I am going to die at some point, I actually know when I will die.... but that is not for you to know, if I say run, I want you to run, order or not, you can do more good in this world if you stay alive, as for me... Myran has shown me my death." She let a silence fill her mind as she turned to Adrian, "Be careful, and if you see any Knights, do not engage, return immediately."

"Like I said nobody's dying while im here, the future is never set in stone and since you're a far superior warrior I would give my life for you to live in a second." he said and he meant it to.

"Yeah, yeah" He said, crawling out from under the waterfall. The cool air felt like knives across his skin. He immediately climbed into the trees, listening for any sound. He heard a branch snap, followed by some crunching sounds. Upon further inspection, he realized it was an elk. Adrian Groaned- elk were heavy, almost too heavy for him to drag back to the cave. A well placed bolt in the animal's neck killed it immediately, allowing him to sling it over his shoulder and begin the heavy walk back to the cave.

"Dammit... This world doesn't need another sword you fool... This world needs another hero..." She sighs as she runs her fingers along the pommel of her sword. "That, and... I will be killed by someone I fall in love with, so I don't know when that will happen, but it will..." She turned to look at him, "I can die... it's my fate... yours is to live, to heal this land, as is all of yours... Adrian's... Artorais'... Even mine, though I won't live long enough to see it complete."

"Like hell that will happen you're basically saying that you're waiting for death that that's your only way to help I may be a hero to many but you know I am to myself some thief who caused the destruction of his own village cause he was an arrogant cocky idiot who didn't do anything to help because he lost and had to retreat you can help more than I can and I will not let you die understand." he said in a stern voice regaining his breath.

She closed her eyes as she saw she was getting nowhere with him, let out one sharp breath through her nose and found herself falling asleep.

Her breathing was soft as her chest rose and fell, the shiny armor now with it's new scratch along the breastplate.

Adrian quietly entered the cave, dragging the elk behind him to the fire where he let go of it. With a grunt he plunged his dagger into it, slowly cutting away the skin for later use. Then, he cut pieces of venison off the body and skewered them, laying them just over the fire.

"Im fine, I've gone for days without sleep and I'm still alive... its all part of being me" Adrian replies, cutting off one last piece of meat. "The meat will be ready in a few minutes."

"Okay but when it's your shift no sleeping you gotta keep us alive got it." Isaac said and suddenly he remembered the reason he came out here was to hunt and he was pretty hungry so that sounded good.
