Fantasy The Supernatural Kingdoms

"One hour." Max hissed as he opened the door. He shut the door softly behind Soma and took his position again, gripping his hammer so tightly he thought it might break.

Arvindr paced the room. It was elegant, extravagant, and unnecessary. He was supposed to be focusing on meditation and block out all of his environment, but for the life of him he couldn't keep still. After all, who could? A quick glance to a chair near the wall showed his bundle of robes, as well as what was hidden inside. Sighing, Arvindr walked up to the bundle and moved some fabric out of the way to glance at the tome once more. Why did he bring this with him? Curiosity? Rebellion? Whatever the reason, it simply wasn't worth it. And yet... Arvindr couldn't stop thinking about it. There was really only one way to solve a problem such as this. Gathering up the robe as best as he could, Arvindr walked with a brisk pace to outside of the room into the palace halls. A servant keeping guard of the room stammered for a moment, before becoming silent the moment Arvindr gave him the eye. Being a prince does have its perks, and one of them is learning from his father how to intimidate others. "I'm going out," was all he spoke as he continued down the halls. 'Where to go, where to go...' An idea suddenly hit him, as he made for the one place where he had several friends. After about a 20 minute walk, he stopped outside of a wooden door. The wall next to it held a plate that read, "SERVANT QUARTERS." With a small smile on his face, Arvindr pushed the door open and walked in.

Adriana had finished the work and was headed back to the servant's quarters alongside her friend. She was going to stay there for the night and head out to the Air Kingdom the next day. Partway there, Delia was summoned elsewhere in the castle to assist another servant. Adriana continued on her way alone. Upon reaching the servant's quarters, she stumbled across one person she didn't expect to be there at that time - Prince Arvindr.

"Your Highness." Adriana bowed low, before standing upright again. "I didn't expect you to be here at this time. You should be in your lesson, should you not?"

Arvindr nodded at the servant girl, attempting to keep his face relatively blank. "Maybe, but we won't let others know about that for now won't we?" He admitted he didn't know the girl that well, only vaguely understanding she was seen on few occasions through out the castle. A quick glance around their area showed a few servants milling about here or there, but for the most part was bare. The furniture in the Quarters common area didn't help matters, as they were things you'd find in the poor districts of the capital. Returning his gaze to the servant girl he straightened his back slightly, "I wish to have some privacy from my escorts for about an hour. I need time to... Recollect my thoughts." The book hidden in his bundle of robes did not help matters, as it felt suddenly heavier in his arms, reminding him of exactly what he was about to do. "Make it so, with haste."

"As you wish, Sire. Is there anything else I can do to be of assistance?" Adriana smiled politely, her most innocent face being worn. Oh how she couldn't wait for the day that the Prince became the King and knew all about the other kingdoms and their magic. She'd be able to reveal herself to him as her true self. Adriana waited for the Prince to answer her question before departing to do his bidding.

Arvindr paused, regarding the question. "Yes. Find me a room within these quarters away from... Prying eyes." It wasn't so much that he didn't trust her, or any of the other servants here. He was even proud to call some of them his friends. However, what he was doing was treason, and the less people involved the better. "Furthermore, make sure know one knows that we've had this conversation." He said finally. The girl wouldn't rat him out. Why would she? For all she knows he just wants to nap away from his duties. Nothing new there. A chair scraped nearby and panic covered his face, much to his inner chastising. He felt high strung, on guard. "Hurry." He hissed, obviously wanting to not be standing around.

"Yes sire. If you would follow me, I know just the room." Adriana smiled before leading the way to the far end of the servant's quarters where there was a door hidden behind some hanging cloaks. As she walked through the room, she wished she had better hidden her clothing from the Fire kingdom and her cloak. At that moment, she was highly conscious of the fact parts of her clothing were poking out from the trunk she had stuffed them into. She opened the door. "In here, sire. I'll see to the remaining tasks you have set me. As for the conversation, which conversation sire?" Adriana flashed him a smile before exiting the servants quarters to see to his requests.

"Thank you so much Max" Soma said before hastily making his way through the doors into the grand library.  "Come on at least a little information on these stones!" He declared his voice sounding quieter in the room.  "Finally, here we go" he said pulling out a very old looking book named 'Runes and other Magical Items'.  He read a couple pages before closing the book and putting it back.  He started to walk towards the door, he already found what he was looking for.  "Hey Max" he said poking his head through the door "I found something... The book said that all the kingdoms had these runes, 7 to be exact, the ones I found are from the Air kingdom they're priceless to the kingdom that owns them; wanna know why?  I bet you do, basically if a air mage crushes one of these runes their magic gets greater, by a lot, but it is only for like 10-15 minutes, anyway like I said all the kingdoms have them even the water kingdom!  I remembered that the king put them on the crown"

'Reliable.' He thought silently as she made her way out. Arvindr surveyed the room, years of training telling him to always be cautious of every environment you're in, regardless of familiarity. However, this room was, quite frankly, unfamiliar to him. While he could chalk it up as learning something new every day, he was a frequent visitor to the Servant Quarters. 'No matter', he thought as he made his way to sit on a chair by the wall. It seemed like a hospitality room, with someone staying in it currently as evident by the trunk placed near the bed.

Arvindr removed the book from the bundle and regarded it once more. His thumb and index finger gravitated towards the corner of the leather cover, pinching the edge, and in one controlled motion opened the book. It wasn't until the leather had fully opened that Arvindr realized he had held his breath and promptly released it. 'Control your emotions, control your fear. You are the crown prince, everything else is trivial.' With new determination, he slowly began reading the contents of the introduction thoroughly.

"Magic, while debated as a science, exists within not just this realm but also within its own realm... can also be said about the corresponding elements of magic, being fire, water, earth, air, and neutral... unbeknownst to many, a realm exists for each element, surrounding the neutral realm as if maintaining balance-" Arvindr dropped the book. It felt like someone had covered his neck with a cold clamp and squeezed. The voices outside went unheard, as the only thing Arvindr could sense was the beating of his own heart in his ears. "This... What is this?!" Standing promptly, Arvindr looked at the book that had fallen to the floor with disgust, scorn, and... Fear.  Arvindr placed a hand over his face, shielding his eyes from the outside world. He hadn't noticed it until now, but his hands couldn't stop shaking. If this is true then... 'Exactly what does this mean??'

(Gonna try to use this as the plot device to bring everyone together)

"That's great. Are you done now?" Max whispered glancing around warily. He wasn't nearly as curious a soul as Tempest or Soma, he was just looking out for his little sister. "If so let's go visit Tempest, since my shift is pretty much over. You can bring the book of you want." He said strapping his war hammer onto his back once again.

@Masyet

"Yeah I'm done.  I have a question...  Can I go with your sister to the Air kingdom?  You know just to bring the runes back and it would let her go somewhere other than the ocean" Soma asked swimming a bit ahead of Max and turned around facing Max "If not I might have to go myself.  You know I'm one of the only people in the kingdom that has enough energy to make a water pillar high enough to actually get up to the Air kingdom.  I don't think that a water guardian would do well in a foreign place but with a royal member of the family it would be different"  knowing the king wouldn't let his own blood into a different castle other than his own Soma knew that he would have to ask Max not to tell the king

"Fine, but you keep an eye on her at all times. Understood?" Maximillian said with a glare. "If anything happens to her, your death will be anything, but swift." Then he swam around Soma and into the infirmary where Tempest works. "Hey Tempest! C'mon it's time to go!" Maximillian called out and smiled when his twin turned around and swam towards him giving him a tight hug.

Tempest pulled away from Max and noticed Soma. "Oh! Hey Soma! Did you find what you were looking for?"She asked as they left the infirmary.

@Masyet

"Can I?" Tempest asked Maximillian, her eyes widening excitedly. He nodded reluctantly and Tempest tackled him hugging him tight, then she turned and hugged Soma with just as much enthusiasm. "Let's go right now!" Tempest suggested happily trying to pull both of them up to the surface.

As Tempest tried to pull Soma and Maximilian to the surface, obviously failing, Soma started to swim to the surface along side her eventually surpassing her "Hurry up slowpoke" He yelled down to Max.  As they neared the surface he asked a question "Hey Tempest...  If I can't make a pillar high enough to the Air Kingdom can you help?" Right as he finished talking they reached the surface "Here we go" he muttered to himself making a very tall water pillar missing the Air Kingdom by a meter or two

@NightTerror

(Sorry I didn't get a notification for some reason)

Tempest helped him out by building the last meter or so and jumped off, landing in front of the gates to the Air Kingdom. She was practically bouncing with the sheer excitement. "We're here Soma!" She said shaking his shoulders lightly. "This is amazing!" She exclaimed staring up at the shiny golden gates.
