"There are three Realms in Earth: The Mortal Realm, the Void, and Evalon. Within each Realm, Doorways in-between each lie in secrecy. When they are opened... Nightmares hunt for Victims..."

(Earth, May of 2021)
From the deepest, darkest corners of Earth, monsters stalk within the night, ranging from Werewolves to Vampires, Specters to Demons, and several other dangerous entities yet to be discovered... but not all monsters are evil, though.

Spirits of Light, better known as Evalonians, have protected Earth's inhabitants for countless generations, and managed to keep the darkness at bay. With the help of a Top-Secret Society that aid the Evalonians by developing weapons, tools, and trinkets to aid in protection from the Darkness, the evils remain, for the most part, well-hidden, with only a few appearances here and there. Sasquatch Sightings, for example, turned out to be true, and were oftentimes a good lead for the Society Members to Hunt them and turn the Public Opinions against it by "Disproving" them... for obvious reasons, of course.

These mysterious Hunters are our protectors...

... these "Protectors" are referred to as "Slayers"... and most of these Slayers are Evalonians disguised as Humans... only a select few of them are actually Humans, though... and even fewer know of their partners' True Forms... for obvious reasons.

You happen to be one of the newest Slayers... and whether Human or Evalonian, it is up to you to pick your partner carefully... because you never know who, or even what, your partner may be on the inside...

"So tell us, exactly... what's your Story? Why do you want to become a Slayer?" comes the question of the Receptionist. Looking up, you snap out of your faze, before coming up with a reply.

However, before you have a chance to speak, the Receptionist waves a hand to stop you there.

"On second thought... I don't care. Just know that when you choose to take on this Oath, you'll be in it for Life, and in most cases, even Death... just remember that once you turn your Application Forms in... oh, and one last thing."

When you look him in the eye, he appears to be holding a stopwatch in-between you two.

"You're about to wake back up, in whatever hellhole we found you in... don't question it, just be ready to move when you get our Calling Card."

And with that, he snaps his finger. Immediately following that, your eyes open back up! Near you would be a sheet of paper... a note.

"An Agent will be with you shortly."

    { Sukia, Evalonian , Villager Goldwood }
    (Evalon, Present Day)

It's been a long, stressful day in Goldwood Village. Several short-looking Evalonians can be seen traveling back and forth, from wooden shack to wooden shack, all in their natural forms.

These figures may, at first, seem like nothing more than bizarrely-colored animals or creatures of varying species. However, the truth of the matter is that they can, in fact, transform themselves to resemble Humans, and "Cross" between the worlds at will. Many of these Evalonians even have "Human Identities" that they use to hide their true forms... but not all of them can control their powers perfectly, and tend to overlook a few minor details, such as cat-like eyes, beaver or rabbit teeth, maybe a visible tail... and in most cases, these are less "Overlooks", and more "Limitations to their power".

But those Evalonians' Human Forms are, for the most part, good enough to wear clothing to conceal said features, like "Glasses", "Hats", or simply tying their tail(s) around their waist, and covering it with clothes... though the latter can be quite tricky and even painful if they have to do so for long periods of time.

"Sukia? Are you up yet?" a bright-red fox calls up a stairway within a tiny stone hut. She leaps up the stairs, and pushes on one of the three doors upstairs.

When inside, her eyes focus on a shorter White and Red female fox with three tails, as opposed to the mother's one.

Sukia's ruby-red eyes are closed, and a small bubble inflates and deflates below her snout... she is sleeping. And quite heavily, too.

The mother fox groans before walking up to the sleeping Kitsune and, with a deadpanned expression adorning her features, firmly bites her ear and pulls up.

Immediately, Sukia yelps; her eyes popping open widely.

"GAH! I'M UP, MOM, I'M UP!"

Upon hearing her daughter's yelping, the fox releases her hold on her daughter, though her anger is still present.

"Sukia! How many times are you going to oversleep like this?! The Second Sun is about to rise, and you have yet to even prepare yourself, on this special day!"

"Special... day?" Sukia mumbles, rubbing the sore tip of her ear. Once realization dawn upon her, though, her ears perk up, and she gasps.

"OH MY GOSH, THE CEREMONY OF LIGHT! I'M GOING TO BE LATE!" she screams at the top of her lungs, before instantly leaping from her bed and charging towards her door...

... only for the door to close by an unseen breeze, leading to her ramming her head into the hard wood.

"Ow... Mom! What was that for?!" she complains.

Her mom shakes her head, her once-glowing yellow eyes now returning to their original hue. She would chuckle a bit at her daughter, before shaking her head, tsking.

"Now now, Sukia... you remember that we're only going there to support the Evalonians that are about to dedicate their lives to becoming Slayers, and nothing more... there's no need to rush into the ceremony!"

Sukia sighs, but nods her head submissively. "Yes, Mother..."

Her mom then glares at her, and adds, "And remember... if your name is drawn from the Seer's Orb, you are to decline the invitation!"

Sukia looks at her in disbelief. "What?! But Mom, Dad was a-"

She is silenced when her Mother glares at her even more fiercely, leaning into her face.

"There are no rules against declining the invitation, Sukia... in fact, the Seer's Orb encourages one to think carefully about their actions before they agree... I already lost one family member to that accursed place... and I will not lose another one! Now brush your fur, get your scarf, and perish that thought of going there."

Without even waiting for a response, Sukia's mom turns around and leaves Sukia in her room, looking somewhat sad.

She looks towards her nightstand, and opens the drawer to pull out a bright lavender-colored scarf, with a blue crystal orb attached to it.

Sukia then stares into her own reflection for a brief moment, once her scarf is tied around her neck.

The last time she saw her father, she was only four years old. And yet, her memories of his extraordinary abilities could still be recalled, in the stories that he told her of his adventures back on Earth...

  • (Key West, Florida... 3 Nights Ago.)
It's 8:50 PM over in Key West, Florida. Many of the buildings surrounding the beach are already going dim, as the inhabitants turn the lights out. What they don't know, however, is that at the stroke of 9, a strange fog will appear from the Ocean Shores.

It is not the fog they should worry about, however... but what roams within it...

Mark is a simple man who works at a Gas Station. Dressed in his Uniform, which consists of a green Logo Shirt, Black Slacks, Black Slip-On Shoes, and a black cap, he brushes his ashen black hair back, and yawns loudly, before pressing his hand onto the door.

As he steps into the Seph-Co Convenience Store, he greets his boss with his usual groggy "Hey..." all while the Doorbell rings over his head, indicating that someone's at the front door.

His boss, Mary, smirks at his attitude. "Hey to you as well, Mark... ya sleep well?"

He shakes his head, yawning once again. "Nope... had a bunch of fog coming in this morning... probably from last night, or something..."

"I see," she begins, rubbing her chin in thought, "ah, well... ready to get started with the Graveyard Shift?"

"Nope," he repeats in his usual sarcastic snark. Though few would dare speak to their boss that way, Mary knows he's just messing around. She could tell just from the side of his mouth curving up.

She chuckles, before tapping on his shoulder with her clipboard. "Well, I'm sure Jeff would be willin' to take your spot for the night, if ya ain't willin'!"

Mark smirks back in response. "Like Hell, I'll let that brown-nose take all the credit! Hand me that broom, I'll show ya how it's done!"

Mary rolls her eyes before pointing at the register... one of the older models of Touchscreen Monitors, but at least it seems to work, still. "Ya gonna work without clockin' in first?"

Mark simply shrugs his shoulders. "Well, if it gets me that promotion faster, then why not?"

The doorbell loudly chimes once again, stopping the two employees from their conversation. They turn to greet the customer, but instead, stare in awe at their visitor.

The visitor is a bald, slender humanoid figure that stands at about nine feet tall. Its fingers are about a foot long, with the tips appearing as thin, razor-sharp claws. Its feet, while shaped like a human's, also bears claws at the tips of its toes. Its eyes glow an eerie red color, and its mouth, long enough to fit a man's head and shoulders in it, is ridged with long fangs.

It growls at the two employees, before taking a single step forward.

"Mary... get behind the counter!" Mark demands, before tossing his cap off, revealing a pair of wolf-like ears. A smoke engulfs his body at the snap of a finger. Only a second later, and he steps out of the smoke, clad in a thick metallic layer of armor.

    {Marrek "Mark" {NPC} - Evalonian (Dark Wolf) - "Bound by Contract (Mary Welsh {NPC})" - Active}

"An Intermediate Slayer whose sworn duty is to protect and serve, while under the guise of "Mark". Marrek was trained in Fire Magic, and is skilled with Spears and Glaives. He's been Mary's Partner for around 2 years, now, and is about to be on his third year. He's been a Slayer for 5 years total, and was quick to reach the Intermediates. However, due to Legal Reasons, he still has another 5 years before he can qualify for 'Elite' Rank."

    MaryPic.png

    {"Mary Welsh" - Human - "Bound by Contract (Mark the Dark Wolf {NPC}) - Active"}

"An Elite Slayer who's also the Manager to a Gas Station Franchise. She always takes the Evening Shift, due to the frequent increase in Paranormal Activity during the Night Time, and patrols her local area during the Night. She's been teaching Mark how to be a proper Slayer, due to her coming from a long family of Slayers, dating back to the Prehistoric Era, where the Humans and Evalonians first met. Her main weapon is a Silver Revolver, which she keeps with her at all times, with custom ammunition usually in her jacket."

Mary nods her head before rushing forward, reaching into her back pocket.

The creature roars, before lunging at her. However, Mark manages to catch its attack with his Spirit Glaive, and shoves it back, knocking it to the ground!

With the creature on the ground, Mary quickly draws her Silver Revolver, checking its ammo, before sliding in some Silver Bullets.

The creature stands back up, and looks towards Mark with a ferocious glare. He, in turn, glares back, with his Wolven Eyes flashing briefly through his Platemail Armor.

"Hey, ugly!" Mary shouts, catching the monster's attention.

When it turns its head, she fires a Silver Bullet into its skull.

Though the impact manages to knock the creature back and leave a hole in its head, it only hisses, before straightening its posture back up.

    Then, the hole regenerates.

"Well, shit..." Mary groans, before removing the bullets from her chamber.

The creature then stretches its arm towards her. Its arm stretches across the room, and then grips onto her forearm!

Before it could pull her, however, Mark quickly slices at its arms, severing both limbs, and forcing it to release Mary from its grasp.

"Thanks, now let's see what can kill this thing!" Mary comments. The creature, however, has other plans. Before they could even react, its arms leap up from the ground, and grip her firmly by the neck, forcing her to drop her Revolver.

The other arm, however, lunges towards Mark, and begins to constrict around his arms, disabling him from using his weapon!

"Gah! What the-" Mark is only able to look in horror as the creature's arms begin pulling the two of them closer to its body.

Its jaw opens widely, before it lashes out towards Mark's head. Upon covering his face completely, he is unable to even scream, as its fangs sink into his neck, forcing bright light orbs to float from him.

Mary is only able to watch in horror as her Partner vanishes into a gust of light... he's been defeated!

The creature's head then distorts, turning towards Mary.

She glares at the creature, before growling in frustration.

If there's anything she's known all her life, it's when the ending draws near... and with baited breath, she looks back at her life... she's already been married, she had her kids, and they've even had their kids... her time would've been over soon, anyways.

Her glare intensifies, before she grins at the creature, with one last trick up her sleeve. "You wanna go, freak?! Alright, then... let's go! I'LL DRAG YA TO HELL WITH ME!"

Releasing its hands, she reaches into her jacket and pulls out her last-resort item... a Fragmentation Grenade.

She bites down on the pin before shoving her hand into its throat, right as it opens its mouth to bite her upper torso.

With her voice muffled from its mouth, one wouldn't hear her yelling in pain, but rather, swearing to the creature.

Finally, the grenade goes off, splattering the creature's entire upper body all over the building, and scattering blood and entrails into a circle of gore.

From all across both worlds, a message would appear on the Journals of each Slayer. Should they look at it, a grim, disturbing message would appear inside it.

"Mary Welsh and Marrek have been slain!"

(Evalon - Goldwood Village Market, Medical Bay Entrance)
From the marketplace, Sukia could be seen walking through the beautiful town of Goldwood Village, carrying a basket of various fruits and vegetables in her mouth, while nodding her greetings to the passersby.

However, her eyes would soon drift towards the Goldwood Medical Bay, where a female Gray Wolf would be leaving, sobbing heavily, with her ears flattened.

She would sigh at the sight, already wagering a guess at what the situation is. It's been 14 years since she, too, felt the grief of losing a loved one to the dangers of the Void, and Earth... and not a day goes by, that she doesn't wish that she could help in some way.

Then her eyes drift towards the Seer's Orb, which rests on the top of the Well. Its majestic blue glow continues to shine, even though the Celebration of Light is only 3 days away... where the Slayers are free to relax, and where the Human Diplomats meet with the Evalonians, so as to speak in person about the goings-on within the Battlefields.

And yet, she can't help but wonder what it would be like to take her father's steps... in fact, she's never even met a Human before. The closest thing she could ever catch was some of the Slayers when they were still in their Disguised Forms... and even then, they claimed that it wasn't perfect.

To her, however, these Humans all look kinda... weird. A face without a muzzle?! She thought only Primates and Avians were like that... but then, those pointy noses often makes her wonder if they might be a mix between a bird and a primate.

Then, comes the fact that they can't use Spirit Weapons! ... Although, to be fair, neither can she... but still! It's been said that, whenever a Human tries to even lift a Spirit Weapon, it just goes right through them, handle and all!

In her train of thought, she accidentally bumps into something. With a yelp, she stumbles back, and falls onto the grass. Her basket falls as well, and its contents quickly scatter around the area, much to her frustration.

"Yip! Oww... stupid, stupid, stupid..." she whines, rubbing her sore forehead, before glaring at the object that she bumped into... only to freeze when the Seer's Orb glows brighter, with a small black orb focusing directly onto her!

"Oh, crap..." she thinks out loud, while the Orb's pitch-black pupil shrinks towards her.

"Sukia!" a voice would echo through the town, causing all heads to turn towards the Seer's Orb.

"No, no, NO! I wasn't-" she begins, only to feel an all-too-familiar pressure build onto the tip of her ear. She yelps again, as none other than Kiala pulls her away from the Seer's Orb, and turns her around to where she can see her mother's ferocious glare.

"What. Did. You. DO?!" her mother's tone leaks with venom.

Sukia's only response is a nervous gulp. She knows fully well what she did, after all...

... She just cast her name into the ballet for the next line of Slayers!

Helera stared at the receptionist just half-listening to what he had to say and trying to keep her mouth shut about the things that she did listen. Like she would fill her armor with piss and blood! And the scars? That didn't make her flinch that much.

Before she could ask or say anything about the mission the receptionist was already waving her off and acting like she wasn't there anymore. Shrugging she turned around to start the mission, better get it over with.

(Earth, Maine, the day after)
Stepping out of the portal that connected their worlds she held her breath for a few seconds. This was only her second time in the human world and it still felt quite strange. She was already in her disguised form when she was appearing in front of the hotel building.

"Now... I just need to figure out how to find this Human slayer..." Helera whispered to herself, this was already being a pain. Adjusting the piece of clothing that looked like her fur made scarf, around her neck, she tried to concentrate to find the Revenant creature they were supposed to fight. She was far away enough to see the building but not be in immediate danger.

"So you're the kid that I'm supposed to work with today right?" an happy, female voice came from behind Helera almost making her jump and growl. "Name is Carla, nice to meet you" Extending her hand for a shake Carla smiled at Helera waiting for her reaction.

"Yeah, yeah sure. Can we start now?" Helera barely looked at her hand, concentrating on her face, eyeing the new woman suspiciously. Carla was a middle age woman, with chocolate eyes and dark blond hair that was just starting to have some silver strikes. The lines on her face told Helera that the woman spent a lot of her time smiling. Not something she was used to see in older slayers, always looking like they got the worst life had to offer. Figures she was going to get to work with some ray of sunshine. Under her breath, after she turned to walk away, Helera just muttered "Oh lucky me, got the ponyland grandma..."

Just shrugging off the cold reception Carla followed the young woman she had just met. Watching her braided white hair moving lightly. "Another hard one ah?" she thought to herself. She had some experience with the Evalonians even though she didn't have a partner herself. That made her a perfect choice to accompany the younger slayers, most of them just out of training. After a few more steps both women stoped to look at the ruined hotel.

"Well, time to shine kid!" still smiling Carla turned to her side to look at her temporary partner. This time a low growl escaped Helera's lips, but still she pulled her daggers out and with a puff of smoke transformed in her true form. When the white wolf appeared in front of Carla she couldn't help but stare. Sure, she knew about Evalonians but it was always an experience watching them transform. She kept, in a small notebook, an account of all the true forms she knew so far. Still her first white wolf. She wonderer how common they were.

"Try not to die of old age on me grandma, I'll be quick" Helera knew she should keep a lid on her temper, too bad that that never stopped her before. She could only take being called kid so many times. Sniffing the air around her, her face contorted in disgust. "Seriously this things smell so bad" she thought. But at least this way they knew the direction to go instead of just walking around waiting to be attacked.

"Now that's not nice!" Carla retorted without any real anger in her voice, although she could tell the other woman was not paying attention to her anymore. She would keep calling her kid until she decided to introduce herself.

"Found it. This way." Not really waiting, Helera's wolf form started to enter the hotel without looking back, moving slowly through the corridors, following the horrible smell of decay and keeping her ears open to any sign of the creature.

They didn't have to wait or search for long. In one of the bigger rooms, in what they figured was, a long time ago, the dinning hall, they found the Revenant. Helera had to suppress the chill that run through her when she finally saw it, but was quick to position herself to get ready for battle. She knew the basic procedures to work with human partners even though she never tried them before and glanced sideway, waiting for Carla to start shooting while she activated her eyes to search for the "life orb".

While following the Evalonian, Carla started putting the necessary bullets inside her revolver's barrel, always keeping her eye out for something the kid might miss. Although she had to admit the kid seemed to have good survival skills to be able to trace the creature without any problem. When they were face to face with the Revenant she noticed the wolf adopting a fighting posture but staying in place and without too much delay she fired the first three shots.

With her ears ringing from the shots and the scream that echoed through the room Helera started to move in the Revenants direction, her eyes bright blue trying to locate the life orb in the mist of darkness that made its body. But if Helera though she was fast, she just found out that the creature was at least twice as fast and barely managed to jump out of the way of one of the poisoned blades. The combate had barely begun and Helera was already at a disadvantage. She knew she didn't have the stamina to just keep dodging the creature's strikes in hope to find an opening she could use, so she better start using her brain if she wanted to come out of this alive. Tightening the grip on her daggers and setting her jaw she dogged another blow in the nick of time, before almost shouting got you!. She had just found the orb. Now she just needed to get it. If it as only that simple.

Noticing her partner's troubles Carla tried to shot the creature again but they were both moving too fast for her to aim properly and she couldn't shoot blindly for fear to hurt the young woman. Trying to decide fast what was the best course of action she barely register the moment the Revenant and Helera's fight changed course and they were both almost on top of her before she could move out of the way.

Tumbling around and panting, Helera could do little but to stay way from the blades, her eyes only focused in the monster, she didn't notice Carla in her path until it was too late. Tumbling on the elder woman and hitting the ground, she could not only feel the blades moving over the top of her head but also the cold and the pungent smell of death and decay. Carla was in the ground with her now, slightly under her wolf form. Feeling even more stupid for being in this position, Helera kicked the elder woman out of the blade's path without a second look and casted a simple fireball, point-blank at the creature's chest. "I hope that hurts like a bitch." She was pissed. More than pissed, she was not going to die yet. Not with this lower-level creature and not on the ground like this.

A new scream left the creature the moment the spell connected and was enough to push it back a little and giving Carla enough time to aim and shoot. Before the Revenant could get its bearings back, Helera jumped and with one of the daggers glowing red she strikes the orb with all her strength and hears a faint but satisfying smash sound.

"Good riddance!" falling back on the ground Helera still panting started laughing, transforming back to her disguised form. Only now turning to look at Carla.

Not very far on the floor from where Helera was, Carla was laying still, eyes closed. Jumping to her feet, ignoring how tired she was feeling, Helera crossed the little distance between them, eyes going wide in panic. "No, no, no! What did I miss?!" running in her head on repeat while she touched and search the woman for injuries. Feeling the cold hands of the Evalonian on her, Carla opened her eyes, only making a small grunt of pain.

"Now, now, it's okay. I will be fine" Carla whispered sweetly to the young woman moving desperately around her looking for the wound. A quick ice glance was enough to make her laugh, but she could feel the other one relaxing a little.

"Show me." Kneeling and putting her hands on her lap, Helera kept her eyes trained on Carla's body. With a sigh the woman moved her arm, showing an ugly deep cut on her side. Looking at it, Helera had to consciously hold back a curse word. This was bad. She needed to get the woman help and fast. Everyone knew about the poison in the blades and that if they got help in time she would live. Doing the only thing she could think of she "warped" them both to the Earth's Slayers HQ.

After making sure Carla would get the help she needed, very reluctantly, Helena made her way to report back to Lord Graegeth. And oh boy was she in trouble. The worst part was that normally she wouldn't even care, but this was Lord Graegeth, someone that even she, who has problems respecting authority figures, looked up to.

She knocked on his door, grunting softly to herself "Here goes nothing..."

Sir Graegeth waits patiently for Helera in his office. Giving Jason a parting nod, he sits by while Jason opens the door and takes his leave, though as he passes by Helera, he pauses, and gives a respectful nod in acknowledgement, before continuing through the hallway.

"Helera... you may enter." Sir Graegeth calls from inside.

Helera watched the human leaving Sir Graegeth's office, not giving him more than a passing look too nervous about the report she was going to give. She held her breath and entered the office, looking now at her hands and noticing she had forgotten to change back to her true form. "Too late now..." She thought and gathering all the courage she had she looked up to him.

"Sir, I was told to come here after I finished the mission." Keeping her eyes on his she waited to the hell she was sure it was going to be set free.

Sir Graegeth nods his head. "Indeed, Helera. Please, have a seat."

He would motion towards the seat opposite of the desk, while he, in turn, rests on the seat facing the doorway. His expression would not show joy... however, he doesn't appear to be angry, either. If anything, it would be quite impossible to decipher his expression... almost like he's thinking about something.

Helera didn't know what to think and tried her best to not say anything, she wasn't the best at interactions and always managed to say the wrong things when she tried.
She moved to sit while keeping her eyes on Sir Graegeth and tried to keep her expression neutral and probably failing miserably.
She decided it was probably best only speak when spoken to, and kept waiting and clenching her hands on her lap.

Sir Graegeth merely sits there, thinking about something. The pressure in the air almost seems too heavy for one to bear.

Finally, he looks down at the desk, before drawing a book from within the drawers, and gently placing it on the surface between them.

"Helera... I hear that your partner was injured today... is this true?" he would finally ask, a hint of concern present in his voice.

"Yeah..." catching herself she back tracked, cleaning her throat "I mean, yes, sir it is"

She wasn't sure if she should go on but being nervous she kept speaking faster almost tumbling on the words.
"We were fighting and I just... Didn't see her and then we were all on the floor and it was attacking and I tried to move her and didn't see what happened. I killed it! And I thought it was over but she was just lying there and and... I don't know... I didn't know what I should do... She was bleeding and the the poison... And humans are just... " she trailed off not able to explain the situation.

Sir Graegeth raises a hand to calm her. "At ease, Helera... you must control your emotions."

He straightens out his monocle, before looking at the book. Tapping a finger onto the opened page, a picture forms in the center, with a Human and an Evalonian standing on each side. At the center of the two, a pair of curved arrows spin in a circling pattern.

"Humans are weaker than us when it comes to Speed, Magic, and several other things, depending on the Evalonian in question... is that not what you feel?" he asks, but would hold a hand up before she could reply.

"No... there is no need to answer... it is an established fact, I assure you, and not bias.

"That being said, however, we are not superior over them... we are all balanced in-between as equals, just as the Maker intended when he created Life. In the traits where we fall short, that is where the Humans gain in power. What they can do within the Mortal Planes, we can only dream of... in short, it was destined that we both work together to pull ourselves up within our shortcomings. Just like the Ancient Humans did for your ancestors, when they introduced us to Weaponry."

He pauses, as if to let his words sink in, before raising his right finger up. At this mere motion, numerous Spirit Weapons of varying shapes and sizes materialize around the room, and circle around the walls, even when he lowers his finger and stands up.

He walks over to the Spectral Weapons, and runs a hand around their blades, as if examining them carefully.

"In fact, had it not been for the ideas of the Humans... for their ingenuity and craftsmanship, we would not have our Spirit Weapons, of which we use to banish the Voidlings, to this day... we would still be forced to use our hands, our paws, or our claws, to rip the Life Orbs from the Voidlings directly, as opposed to relying on the safety of our weapons to strike them from a safer distance... did you know that?"

This time, he looks towards her, as if waiting for a reply.

Helera could almost slap herself, this was not how she wanted to go, but then again she should be used to it by now. Taking a deep breath to calm herself she paid attention to what she was being told.

Superior? No, probably not she didn't know enough about them to go that far. Up until some hours ago they were just... alien to her. Some other race that she knew almost nothing about and honestly even if a bit curious she never went any far on her thoughts about them. They just existed. And she had no plans in being partner of one of them. They could come in hand in a fight? Sure but trusting and binding her life to one was a bit too much in her opinion. Maybe one day that would change. Today was not that day.

She couldn't help but stare at all the weapons around her and gave a little whistle. Now that was something gorgeous! "I wonder if I could try one of them..." She though to herself but knew best about asking that out loud.

That last sentence made her eyes snap back to Sir Graegeth and her brow furrowed in thought.
"I never thought to ask." She answered, shrugging slightly.

He would smile at her answer, before nodding his head. Immediately, the weapons floating around vanish into thin air, while he takes his seat once again.

Then it happens... the journals begin to glow, while another message appears on the pages.

Carla Wilson has been slain!

Sir Graegeth would cough immediately after the words appear. When he pulls his hand away from his mouth, he reaches down and pulls a small towel out from behind the desk, and wipes his face.

One could easily see his blood fill the towel, though surprisingly, it would appear to be as red as a human's blood... a trait that is far from ordinary for an Evalonian.

He would sigh, before lowering the towel back to the spot he got it from. Then he would straighten out his posture once more, as if nothing happened.

Helera noticing the journal glow leaned forward a little to better see the words forming, assuming it was another part of this conversation although she was unsure of the true point of it. Reading the words she felt a pang of guilt in her chest and it felt difficult to swallow. Being pulled out of the turmoil of emotions going through her when Sir Graegeth coughed, looking at him but unable to meet his eyes from the time being.

At happened next stroke her as puzzling at best, but now was not the time to analise whatever that could mean.

"What happens now?" she tried to stay pragmatic no matter how she was feeling at the moment, but kept her head lowered.

Sir Graegeth shakes his head, and sighs. "Now, we must speak with her family... no doubt they will need to hear this... her daughter, especially. But don't worry. I'll deal with that."

"For now, you should get some rest... no doubt, you have earned it. Your compensation will be delivered to your account once the charges and fees for your partner's loss have been sorted through... funeral charges, and all that... you may spend it on living arrangements, equipment, upgrades, and anything else you wish."

"However, please do be more considerate of your partners next time... while it's true, our goals are to 'Slay' the monsters, our priority is to protect those around us, family, friends, coworkers... I'm certain you're aware."

"Please, though, rest assured, I am not upset with you... disappointed in the loss, yes, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay, after your first real mission... after all, being the founder of our fine organization, you are my children, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that you are well-cared for, until the very end."

He smiles reassuringly at her, before closing his book and putting it back behind the desk. Then he begins to walk over towards the entrance, where he would wave a hand towards it, and stand to the side, as if allowing her to pass.

"... her daughter, especially." Helera's brain stopped working after the moment that sentence left Sir Graegeth lips. Barely registering anything else, she felt cold, numb. Her brain stuck on those words and not able to move forward.

She barely registers the moment the book is put way, or when Sir Graegeth gets up, most certainly dismissing her. So her body reacts when her mind can not and automatically gets up and moves to the door and had her eyes not being lowered maybe Sir Graegeth could have seen how empty they were.

She doesn't snap out of it until she's home, although she's not sure how she got there in the first place. If that room could be called that is. Closing the door behind her, she slides down, her back against the cold wood. Looking back she could see her hands shaking, noticing that she made the whole way back in human form and when she couldn't take it anymore she brought her hands to both sides of her head and began crying silently.
