"There are three Realms in Earth: The Mortal Realm, the Void, and Evalon. Within each Realm, Doorways in-between each lie in secrecy. When they are opened... Nightmares hunt for Victims..."
(Earth, May of 2021)
From the deepest, darkest corners of Earth, monsters stalk within the night, ranging from Werewolves to Vampires, Specters to Demons, and several other dangerous entities yet to be discovered... but not all monsters are evil, though.
Spirits of Light, better known as Evalonians, have protected Earth's inhabitants for countless generations, and managed to keep the darkness at bay. With the help of a Top-Secret Society that aid the Evalonians by developing weapons, tools, and trinkets to aid in protection from the Darkness, the evils remain, for the most part, well-hidden, with only a few appearances here and there. Sasquatch Sightings, for example, turned out to be true, and were oftentimes a good lead for the Society Members to Hunt them and turn the Public Opinions against it by "Disproving" them... for obvious reasons, of course.
These mysterious Hunters are our protectors...
... these "Protectors" are referred to as "Slayers"... and most of these Slayers are Evalonians disguised as Humans... only a select few of them are actually Humans, though... and even fewer know of their partners' True Forms... for obvious reasons.
You happen to be one of the newest Slayers... and whether Human or Evalonian, it is up to you to pick your partner carefully... because you never know who, or even what, your partner may be on the inside...
"So tell us, exactly... what's your Story? Why do you want to become a Slayer?" comes the question of the Receptionist. Looking up, you snap out of your faze, before coming up with a reply.
However, before you have a chance to speak, the Receptionist waves a hand to stop you there.
"On second thought... I don't care. Just know that when you choose to take on this Oath, you'll be in it for Life, and in most cases, even Death... just remember that once you turn your Application Forms in... oh, and one last thing."
When you look him in the eye, he appears to be holding a stopwatch in-between you two.
"You're about to wake back up, in whatever hellhole we found you in... don't question it, just be ready to move when you get our Calling Card."
And with that, he snaps his finger. Immediately following that, your eyes open back up! Near you would be a sheet of paper... a note.

{ Sukia, Evalonian ♀, Villager Goldwood }
(Evalon, Present Day)
It's been a long, stressful day in Goldwood Village. Several short-looking Evalonians can be seen traveling back and forth, from wooden shack to wooden shack, all in their natural forms.
These figures may, at first, seem like nothing more than bizarrely-colored animals or creatures of varying species. However, the truth of the matter is that they can, in fact, transform themselves to resemble Humans, and "Cross" between the worlds at will. Many of these Evalonians even have "Human Identities" that they use to hide their true forms... but not all of them can control their powers perfectly, and tend to overlook a few minor details, such as cat-like eyes, beaver or rabbit teeth, maybe a visible tail... and in most cases, these are less "Overlooks", and more "Limitations to their power".
But those Evalonians' Human Forms are, for the most part, good enough to wear clothing to conceal said features, like "Glasses", "Hats", or simply tying their tail(s) around their waist, and covering it with clothes... though the latter can be quite tricky and even painful if they have to do so for long periods of time.
"Sukia? Are you up yet?" a bright-red fox calls up a stairway within a tiny stone hut. She leaps up the stairs, and pushes on one of the three doors upstairs.
When inside, her eyes focus on a shorter White and Red female fox with three tails, as opposed to the mother's one.
Sukia's ruby-red eyes are closed, and a small bubble inflates and deflates below her snout... she is sleeping. And quite heavily, too.
The mother fox groans before walking up to the sleeping Kitsune and, with a deadpanned expression adorning her features, firmly bites her ear and pulls up.
Immediately, Sukia yelps; her eyes popping open widely.
"GAH! I'M UP, MOM, I'M UP!"
Upon hearing her daughter's yelping, the fox releases her hold on her daughter, though her anger is still present.
"Sukia! How many times are you going to oversleep like this?! The Second Sun is about to rise, and you have yet to even prepare yourself, on this special day!"
"Special... day?" Sukia mumbles, rubbing the sore tip of her ear. Once realization dawn upon her, though, her ears perk up, and she gasps.
"OH MY GOSH, THE CEREMONY OF LIGHT! I'M GOING TO BE LATE!" she screams at the top of her lungs, before instantly leaping from her bed and charging towards her door...
... only for the door to close by an unseen breeze, leading to her ramming her head into the hard wood.
"Ow... Mom! What was that for?!" she complains.
Her mom shakes her head, her once-glowing yellow eyes now returning to their original hue. She would chuckle a bit at her daughter, before shaking her head, tsking.
"Now now, Sukia... you remember that we're only going there to support the Evalonians that are about to dedicate their lives to becoming Slayers, and nothing more... there's no need to rush into the ceremony!"
Sukia sighs, but nods her head submissively. "Yes, Mother..."
Her mom then glares at her, and adds, "And remember... if your name is drawn from the Seer's Orb, you are to decline the invitation!"
Sukia looks at her in disbelief. "What?! But Mom, Dad was a-"
She is silenced when her Mother glares at her even more fiercely, leaning into her face.
"There are no rules against declining the invitation, Sukia... in fact, the Seer's Orb encourages one to think carefully about their actions before they agree... I already lost one family member to that accursed place... and I will not lose another one! Now brush your fur, get your scarf, and perish that thought of going there."
Without even waiting for a response, Sukia's mom turns around and leaves Sukia in her room, looking somewhat sad.
She looks towards her nightstand, and opens the drawer to pull out a bright lavender-colored scarf, with a blue crystal orb attached to it.
Sukia then stares into her own reflection for a brief moment, once her scarf is tied around her neck.
The last time she saw her father, she was only four years old. And yet, her memories of his extraordinary abilities could still be recalled, in the stories that he told her of his adventures back on Earth...
{ Alvo (Disguised), Evalonian ♂, Elite Slayer }
(Earth, 14 Years Ago)
A storm rages on in the small town of Fair Grove. From within the center of town, two cloaked figures walk in silence... one of which is a man with long, black hair and a thick beard, who's carrying a shotgun. Another is a man with long, white hair tied into a ponytail, wearing round shades, and a black cowboy hat.
The two walk through the storm, seemingly unfazed by the rain pounding at their heads and chests. The man with the white hair nods his head in greeting at the dark-haired one.
"Mr. John Walker... I see you're on the task, already... no signs of the target, yet?"
The black haired man nods in response, before observing the area surrounding them.
"Pretty much. Got a letter requesting that we take care of a 'Werewolf Problem' up here... but as you said, nothing so far."
"I see... then it looks like I came here in time."
"Gonna sniff it out for us, Al?" John asks.
Instead of a vocalized answer, Alvo closes his eyes, draws his Katana from its sheathe, and lowers to the ground. His body engulfs in smoke. When the smoke clears out, a black and white fox with piercing red eyes stands in his place, with the Katana held firmly in his mouth.
{ Alvo - True Form }
John simply shrugs the transformation off, having seen it before several times. However, he can't help but wonder one thing.
"Man, you Evalonians and your traditional weapons... why the hell do you keep using those old-fashioned weapons, anyways?"
The fox rolls his eyes before replying in a muffled tone (due to the Katana being in his mouth), "Haven't I told you yet? Those weapons are loaded with Spirit-Repellant things, and just don't sit well for us... and besides that, how do you expect us to hold a gun when we're in our True Forms?"
John smirks, before shrugging his shoulders. "Eh, fair point. Well anyways, ya find somethin'?"
Alvo begins to sniff around the area, then growls at a peculiar stench.
"Yeah... think I smell an Eldritch nearby..."
John tenses at that, before quickly opening his shotgun, and switching the bullets out from "Silver" to, what his box says, "Rock Salt".
"Well, shit... what's an Eldritch doing so far from the Void? Ain't their nearest Gateway over in No Man's Hill?"
Alvo, in turn, shakes his head. "I haven't a clue, myself... but whatever the case, be ready... this one smells quite powerful..."
As if on instinct, the two Elite Slayers quickly turn towards the town's entrance, where a mysterious sound could be heard.
"Hmm... sounds like some kind of warped singing... I would've guessed Harpies, if it weren't for it being an 'Eldritch'," John begins, before opening his shotgun back up, "so it looks like we've got us a Dream Eater on our hands."
The two Slayers begin to approach the entrance to the town, before the rain stops around them. The fog clears up, revealing a large red figure standing in the center of the gate.
The creature is shaped like a thin, red rose, with its petals replaced by tentacles covered in variably shaped eyes. Its core, rather than a body, is a twisted, distorted human-like face, with a mouth that lacks a jawline. It has three tongues, with the tips of each opening and closing with fanged lips.
"Yeah... this one's gonna be ugly." John says, before once again replacing his ammo. Rather than "Rock Salt", he decides to use "Sticky Shells". He pumps the shotgun, which puts both shells into the barrels, before adding a couple "Bird Shot Shells" in it.
Alvo raises an eyebrow at his last choice. "Didn't you say those are weaker?" he asks, recalling the tips that John gave him in the past, during one of their previous encounters.
John nods his head. "Yeah, but they scatter more than the others. And with the good ol' Sticky Shots, I don't need much power to get the job done."
"Ah... well, as long as you're sure about what you're doing." Alvo comments again, before tightening his jaw's grip on the Katana.
John raises his Shotgun and nods his head, signaling that he's ready. When Alvo imitates the motion, the two of them rush towards the Dream Eater.
It hisses loudly at the sudden movements, before the tentacles start moving along the ground, dragging the creature closer to its prey.
John fires his shotgun at the creature's base, before rolling to the side, dodging the tentacles that lash towards him.
Alvo keeps a safe distance from it, and closes his eyes to focus his move carefully... - a common tactic that the Slayers use. Gunners would be up front, dealing Damage while focusing mainly on Status and Impairments, while the Blades dish out the attacks when the creature is either stunned, unarmed, or incapacitated.
The creature hisses while the the Sticky Round pierces into its body, before it bursts into several smaller pebbles that, on contact, stick to it in multiple areas of its body, from top to bottom.
Its distorted face twists around its body, before looking directly at John and opening its mouth to strike with its three tongues... but his Shotgun Barrel is already aimed at its mouth!
With a grin, he fires directly into its throat, causing a few small spiked orbs to pierce its entire mouth and burst into tiny bits that fill a large portion of its insides.
It recoils back several feet, while he rolls back, pumps his "Bird Shots" into the chamber, and grins from his prone position.
"Bombs away!" he calls out, before firing the shot.
In a chain reaction, the tiny metal pebbles collide with the dusty-looking coating that covers the Dream Eater's body. On impact, however, the creature's entire body gets caught in an explosive flame, while the coating from its insides ignite.
It screeches in agony, while its tendrils start to melt, and drip into the dirt.
Alvo opens his eyes. They briefly glow a bright red color, revealing to him a white orb at the very center of the creature's body... its "Life Orb", as all Evalonians would know.
"There!" he internally shouts to himself, before rushing towards the monster in a blurring speed.
A pair of tendrils nearly lash towards him, but John quickly uses his fourth shot to push the creature back some more, distracting it enough to leave an opening... an opening which Alvo takes.
He lunges forward in a puff of smoke, reverting to his Human Form. With his glowing red eyes still intact, he slices horizontally at the abomination, with his Katana's blade glowing a bright white color.
The flesh of the beast, while scorched, doesn't get cut. However, in Alvo's eyes, the white orb is shattered into pieces on impact.
The Eldritch Monster goes silent, before its burnt red flesh starts to crumble into an ashen gray dust. In mere seconds, all that remains is nothing more than a pile of dirt, where it once stood.
The two Slayers put their weapons away, and sigh in relief. John then gives Alvo a thumbs-up, before pulling a small booklet out, and writing on it.
"Well... Eldritch Horror down... that's another one for the books, huh?" he asks his Evalonian friend.
Alvo nods his head, before sliding a pair of shades over his red eyes. "Yes, indeed... though I have to admit one thing..."
John looks up from his book and raises an eyebrow. "Hmm? What's up?"
Alvo rubs his chin for a moment, before smiling sheepishly at him. "As you Humans say... 'I think I might be getting too old for this'."
"Oh?" John, having finished his notes, closes his book and folds his arms over his chest. "Are you thinking of retirement?"
With a sigh, Alvo shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know... it just seems like everything's gotten so... easy. And you gotta admit, we can't really see our families that much nowadays, since there's so many threats that keep popping up that we have to deal with. Especially these recent S-Class Threats that keep appearing."
John nods his head. "I understand that... why do you think I've been training my own son to be like me? Hell, I'd wager he'll have more potential than I do when it's his time to shine... especially since he's got... y'know... not much to worry about when things go wrong."
Alvo raises a curious eyebrow. "Oh? Like what?"
"Well, that's just it... I ain't got a clue what it is, but... well... just a few days ago, he was on a roof, helping me fix a hole in it..."
"He decided to help you out? How exactly is that unusual, though?"
"For one thing, he fell off the roof. It was two stories high, and he landed on his head!"
Alvo gasps, before covering his mouth. "Oh, my... I'm... I'm sorry for your loss, John! Do you want me to visit, or-"
"-Then he vanished, called me on my phone, and told me that he was laying in front of a Shrine back home."
"..."
At a loss of words, Alvo rubs his chin in thought. "That... is strange... was it a Shrine of Evalon, by any chance?"
"One of Lady Gaia? Yes, it was." John says with a nod.
"Hmm... and you said he 'Woke up' in front of it?" An uneasy look begins to form on Alvo's face.
John nods his head once again, and notices Alvo's expression. "What's wrong? Why the long face?"
Alvo shakes his head and places a hand on his Partner's shoulders. "John... I think your son might be in for a lot of trouble."
"Trouble?" John parrots, "What kind of trouble?!"
"You know about how becoming a Slayer curses Humans, right? Like how you no longer have the ability to find true love?"
John sighs, remembering very well how that ended up, once his last wife divorced him for no reason at all.
"Yeah... so what is it that my son has? Some sort of 'Come-Back-To-Life' Curse?"
Alvo shakes his head once more. "No... well, yes, but it's worse than that."
"How much worse?"
"Look at this..." Alvo pulls his book from his jacket, and shows it to John.
The Nox Eternus
Many forsee the fates worse than Death,
the binding of Life, the Shortness of Breath,
but none would dare think, of Death without Peace,
where the soul and the body are never at Ease.
When Death comes to claim you, your soul yields no worth.
Your spirit and body are then bound to the earth.
But your memories stay, with a pain none can mend,
for the Nox Eternus is a Curse Without End.
John stares at the book confusedly. "So wait... his 'Curse' is that he'll basically live forever?"
Alvo shakes his head. "He'll live forever, but he'll die forever, as well... and he will die at some point, considering what all we've encountered... in fact, I fear that our time may come soon, if we can't retire peacefully. But when we die, we'll pass on."
"Yeah... almost makes me wonder why you chose to bind yourself to me during that Ceremony of Light thing that you had all those years ago..."
Alvo lightly chuckles before punching John on the shoulder. "Simple... because you looked like you needed the help."
"Heh... bulls**t. You know as well as I do that I was skilled back in Day 1."
"True... and so was I. So I guess I was just tempted to rely on the best of the best... I just hate to imagine what might happen if someone binds with Jason."
John shrugs his shoulders. "Odds are, he might just run Solo. After all, he does have a pretty interesting ability."
Alvo groans. "Is it that Astral Projection thing of his?"
John nods his head and chuckles. "Yeah... had you wondering if he had a twin standing there with those fancy 'Eyes' of yours."
"Heh... yeah... though he does have a brother?"
"Yeah, but Beth took him with her, so that he would live a normal life... seemed quite pissed about it, too... gotta tell you, those Curses sure can alter someone's opinion on you pretty badly... first time we fought that hard, and I didn't even realize that it was the Curse taking effect. She won't even let me look at the boy, anymore."
"Yeah... well, speaking of families, I guess we better split for now, before-"
As if on cue, both of their journals begin to glow brightly. They flip them open and observe their contents curiously.
"Well, then... guess we've got a pretty big one to deal with tomorrow, huh?" John asks, looking up at his partner. "Tell ya what... let's just worry about our retirement after this last one... doesn't seem like many folks out there can handle something like this... we're the best chance of survival for this world, after all."
Alvo thinks for a moment, before nodding his head. "Alright, then... I'll stop and let my family know... maybe spend some time with my Daughter, before I head back... as well as my Wife."
"Sounds good... and I'll leave my son some notes on what to do if we ain't back in more than a week."
"Very well, then... see you there, Partner."
And with that, the two depart from the old town; Alvo vanishing into a mist, while John begins walking out of the exit, towards his Silver Truck.
"We regret to inform you of the Hunting Trip issued to your late husband, Misses Kiala... I'm afraid that-"
"- your father was killed in an accident, today. By law, the records state that you aren't old enough to live by yourself. We have informed your Mother, and she has agreed to pick you up tomorrow. We ask that you please pack up your personal belongings, and be ready for when she gets there." a Police Officer says over the landline, which is being held by a teenage boy with medium-length hair, wearing a black cap.
"With the disappearance of his partner's soul, I'm afraid Alvo is no longer with us in Evalon... and we suspect that he may not ever return home, again... we're sorry." Sukia hears the words from the Slayers' Guild Leader, while hiding at the top of the Stairway.
Her mother is silent, before she could her her sniffling. "T-thank you for letting us know, Sir Graegeth... I... I need a moment with my Daughter, if that's alright..."
"Of course, Lady Kiala... apologies, in advance... he was a good friend to us all."
And with that, the door closes. As soon as Kiala turns around, however, Sukia is already standing there at the bottom of the Stairway.
They both look at each other, as if silently seeing who would cry first... but the tears soon fall from both of their faces, as they embrace, Mother-to-Daughter, and cry for the duration of the night.
They had just lost their Family Hero, after all...
The boy hangs up the phone and rushes to the Living Room, where he begins packing a large brown Hiking Bag, filling it with several different items, such as food, a wallet with a Hacked Credit Card in it, a lighter, matches, bags of Rock Salt, Ammo Casings, Gunpowder Containers, Shotgun Parts, a Tire Wrench modified with a Silver Tip, Changes of Clothes, Bathing Materials, Books, and a few other things.
"Like hell my dad's dead..." he says to himself, before looking at the letter he received from the man in question.
Jason.
Listen, champ. I didn't get to stay much due to that Hunting Trip, but I was just called into another one shortly after. I'll probably be gone for about a week.
If I'm not back by then, or if I don't call you before the Police do... run. Don't question it, just keep going from State to State, doing what we do best.
I'm leaving you with the truck. She's my Pride and Joy, so don't wreck her! You're 16, now, so you've got that Permit. Don't go doing anything stupid!
Well... stupider than what we usually do, that is.
On another note entirely, I've left a small poem written by Alvo... you remember him, my Partner.
You remember what happened to your mother and I... it was part of becoming a Slayer. Well, it looks like the Training's complete, because you've got the Curse that goes along with it!
It's called the "Nox Eternus"... not gonna lie, it sounds rough... but you're my son. I know you can make it through the challenges ahead.
I can't imagine what all you'll be going through... but know that I love you, son. Always have, and always will. Should I not make it back, I'll still hold yours and your brother's lives ahead of my own.
Of all the things I've done in life, my greatest achievement was having you as a son, Jason... take care.
He folds the letter up, and slips it into his pocket, before wiping his eyes. Looking at his sleeve, he sees the wetness from his cheeks, and shakes his head in denial.
"No way... there's no way in hell that he..."
He looks towards the coffee table, or more specifically, where a strange new book could be seen... a book that happens to be glowing.
Curious, he walks up to it and lifts it from the coffee table.
On the bottom of the book, embroidered in gold, is the name "John Walker".
"Dad's Journal..." he whispers, before it glows once again. He has to shield his eyes, before he can look at it once more.
When he does, the name on it has changed to "Jason Walker".
This, of course, is the confirmation that he needed to know... but far from what he wanted to hear.
Out of anger, his grip intensifies on the book, before he roars loudly, and throws it towards the wall, knocking a picture frame down in the process.
He falls to his knees, and lowers his hat, covering his eyes. He then shakes his head even more, before slamming his fist onto the ground, in a state of depression.
For about five minutes, he cries... it was the most he's cried his whole life.
Afterwards, he goes and picks the book back up. Flipping it open, he sees a picture of, what appears to be, a "Bigfoot Sighting" in some small town near Alabama.
Looking at his bag once more, he sighs, before slowly walking towards it, lifting it up, and examining its contents once again.
After making sure everything he needs is in his Hiking Bag, he slumps it over his shoulders, straightens out his cap, turns to face his home one last time, and then weakly smiles, as he looks back at the memories he held in this place... how his father taught him the necessary things he needed to know, from using a gun at the age of 8, to learning how to fill a bullet casing, and manufacture his own weapons...
He may still be a little boy... but he has been trained for this his whole life... and now, it's time for the little bird to jump out of the nest.
"Don't worry, Dad... I won't let you down." he says, before slowly closing the door... more than likely for the last time.
Welcome to this "Magic Meets Modern World"-type of RP. Think "Supernatural" meets "Anime Stuff", minus the whole "Gods" and "Demigods" thing... there are Gods and Goddesses in this lore, but they aren't the same. However, some of the concepts are going to be similar, but with its own fair share of differences.
For one thing, "Humans" aren't commonly aware of the presence of "Evalonians". More often than not, Evalonians would be disguised as Humans, but would always have one or more traits pertaining to their race showing. (IE: A Cat Evalonian would have Cat Ears) As such, they are usually clad in a lot of clothing so as to hide those features.
A select few Humans are aware of the "Slayers", however, and the Slayers have a branch between both worlds, with portals inside their main HQ, which looks like a simple wooden shack in the middle of nowhere in Earth, and a large castle in Evalon. They are each given a Journal, with their assignments magically sent via "Text" on the books. The assignments are usually relative to each Slayer's Skill-Set, but the Highest-Ranking Slayers (S-Class) can be pushed beyond their limits, due to the Unpredictable Nature of some dangerous creatures out there. These quests are usually given to Evalonians, but a few Humans have been sent to these, from time to time.
Earth is set in the year "2021" at the moment. However, Evalon looks more like it's in the Feudal Era, and has a bit of a Japanese look to it. This is because Evalonians are forbidden from using Earth's Weapons, and have to rely on their own creations, forged from materials from their world! And the dangers of a Gun have lead to Evalonians being Forbidden from using Guns, period.
This, of course, helps narrow down which of the Slayers are Human, and which are Evalonians. An Evalonian would never hold a Gun, and a Human would never encounter a Powerful Entity without one.
On the flip-side, however, Humans can't use Spirit-Based weapons, and have to rely on things from Earth, unlike the Evalonians. With physical weaponry, a Human can easily hurt a Ghost. However, they would need an Evalonian Partner to banish a Ghost back into the Void... which is basically the Spirit's way of dying.
When an Evalonian becomes a Slayer, they are allowed to move between the two worlds. To cross over into Earth, otherwise, is considered a "Forbidden Practice", and could potentially lead to "Banishment" if they get caught!
Character Applications will be on the Character Apps page. You are free to apply as either a "Human" or an "Evalonian". For an "Evalonian", you have to pick an animal (any kind will do), and they'll need to have an animalistic trait that they keep when they're "Disguised".
Or you could make it so your character isn't skilled enough to "FULLY" Transform, and take on a "Kemono" Form, instead, which is an Anthropomorphic version of their Original Form, but with hands.
These, of course, are quite rare, and would need to be "Summoned" by a Human in a secluded location, using "Summoning Charms", which can be any item with a certain "Symbol" that was blessed by the user in question. The Human merely says the Evalonian's name with the charm in their hand, then slam the charm on the ground. Regardless of what the charm was, it would "Vanish", and be replaced by the Evalonian. In truth, however, it merely "Switches Places" with the Evalonian... Humans usually use Pennies for this, because of such.
Now, comes the interesting part... if you don't want to be a Slayer at the start, nor do you want to be an Evalonian, then you're actually able to post now, and get started as a simple "Human" with no defining features (perhaps for Character-Building?)! However, you'll have to apply for a "Slayer" or "Evalonian" position. Otherwise, you're free to post as "Just an ordinary Human"... however, we require you to at least give us a description or a picture of your character(s) physical traits when you do, so that we know who your character is, at least.
Also, another thing. You're free to turn your character into a Slayer via RP, if you make them go through an experience which would lead to them "Appearing in a Mysterious Room". You'd have to leave the RP at that, and then fill in a Character Form, or PM me their Name, Age, Race, Appearance, and other important details. I'll then follow your RP up with a response from the "Slayers' Guild", whether they approved or not. (They likely would, once I've responded to your app.)
(( I don't have a problem with OOC Parentheses, but let's keep them to a minimum, alright? We'll have an OOC Channel for long OOC Chats and/or Questions later on! ))
Got any questions? Feel free to PM me, and I'll do my best to answer as quickly as I can! Although I can't promise an immediate response, because of Work Schedules, Sleep, and all that... but I'll respond whenever I can, at least!
Also, about that "Message" at the start, that floats just above the Divider Line... if you're a "Casual" (Human without an App), then you can ignore that, and say that that's what you'll be briefed on by the Receptionist, followed by you "Waking Up" at the last place you left off, without a clue on what just happened. (What did happen, of course, was that you were summoned to the HQ on Earth by an Evalonian... but your char doesn't know that IC, nor does he/she know who it was that summoned 'em!)
Important Stuff
1. We're all either Slayers, or we're Bystanders. We can't be Villains, or Voidlings... sorry, but that's an NPC Role. You can, however, make your own Villain and Voidling NPCs as your own "Personal Nemeses", and use Fictional Towns/Cities in the "Real World". After all, this is mostly meant for "Serious, but Fun" RP.
2. "Binding Contracts" are basically for Human/Evalonian Partnerships. They are very rarely used, but grant the Humans a Supernatural Ability, as well as a Curse.
3. The "Nox Eternus" Curse is unique to Jason, however, and is forbidden from being given to anyone else. Sorry, but "Eternal Life/Death" is a Curse that I can't have 50+ people walking around with... kinda loses its uniqueness.
However, you're free to make up your own Curse! Like, say, the Curse is that you get "IBS", and have to use the restroom every time you're done with a job... or something serious, like "Loss of a Firstborn Son", "Last of your Bloodline", where instead of Living Eternally, when you die, your family dies, etc. etc. That's all up to you to decide!
4. Evalonians, instead of getting "Cursed", gain a boost in Power, but should their Partner Die (or more specifically, if their Spirit "Vanishes" from the Mortal Plane), then they are automatically banished to the Void Realm, where they will be imprisoned for Eternity...
5. When your character dies, they are sent into the "Void". You aren't immortal, after all. But even still, Death isn't always the end for a Slayer! Voidlings have found a way to escape the Void, so clearly there must be some way out... you'll just have to PM me a request, and I'll see if I could find an IC way to "Bring you back". Please note, however, that if you die by "Old Age", or "Retired", then you've essentially "Moved on" with that character.
6. Patience is Key, but Long-Term Absence is a Key to Skipping! If you don't reply to an RP Post within 3 Days, then the other user is free to just "Skip" the dialogue, unless a proper reason is brought up. We understand you may be gone on a trip or something. So PM me, and let me know you'll be gone for a bit, and I'll see to it that your conversation is secured! (Please note that if it's a Hostile RP, then you'll have to accept the loss, and move on, though, with the other player's choices! This means that if you were in a battle, and you can't stick to it for more than 3 days, the other player has the right to judge your character's fate! You'll be PM'ed the results of the RP. Note, however, that I will be the judge of Death here, so you'll more or less just leave with an injury, if anything... or if it were a "Romantic RP", you may find yourself waking up in bed with someone you just met... we'll count it as your character being "Drunk", "Drugged", or something... just a word of advice. When you start something, or join into something, please please try not to bail out in the middle!
7. Despite being the First Post, I'll be updating this from time to time... more specifically, the "RP Rules". Please do give it a quick skim! Most changes to the current rules would just be grammatical corrections, while any new changes would just be posted as "Additional Rules" or "Announcements"... at least, until I can make Pages for those!
8. Most importantly, be respectful to your fellow RP'ers, and have fun!
9. (Update) As of right now, we are allowing Evalonian Villagers without the need for an Application! Same rules apply for them, however! You'll need to at least give a Name, Appearance, and Animal Form for them in your first post! Pics welcome, but not required if you can give them a well-detailed appearance! Like Humans, they can become Slayers later on, if you RP their encounter that leads to the Application Form. However, you'll have to Apply in order for them to be accepted!
10. (Update) Figured I should bring this up, but if you are a Villager or a Citizen, then you can't necessarily have "Professional Weapon Training" unless your character was either a Soldier, Police Officer, or a Hunter... and depending on the Profession, it would only give you an edge at weapons that said Profession would most likely use!
(IE: A Hunter's good with Rifles. They would have no reason to learn how to use a Bazooka, however, and as such, can't use them professionally, nor have access to one.)
11. (Update) If you see Rules contradict each other, just assume the highest Numbered one as the Priority! (IE: "Earlier on, you see me talking about only having Human Citizens as a "Casual", yet Rule 9 states "Evalonian Villagers" are allowed. Just have Rule 9 "Overlap" that previous statement!)
12. (Update) Again, if you have any questions or are wondering about something here, PM me, and I'll do what I can to help!
