Fantasy The School of Aftermath

"Well I'd hope so. It's been forever and the teacher should be there on the first day at least." Aura said, entering the classroom. She sat down somewhere in the back of the room, next to a window so she could gaze outside and listen to her thoughts as the teacher drones on and on about things she will probably not use later in life. The teacher wasn't already in the classroom, but as soon as Aura sat down, she burst through the classroom doors.

"I'm sorry I'm so late!" The teacher chimes, looking very disheveled.

Jonathan gets up very rapidly, he puts the backpack in the back of the seat and starts staring at the board, not caring, yet trying to appear like he's up to learn. He gets a random textbook and a red pen. He starts moving his eyes to everywhere, while breathing very calmly. He gazes to the right, noticing that Simon and the girl are back. Looks like they're a couple now. He lets a light giggle, and grabs his pen again, waiting for the teacher to start the ''class''.

Simon walked in and gave a wave to Jon, then took his seat next to Aura, propping his feet up. "Better late then never I suppose." The teacher looked frantic, but Simon took his cue to listen.

Auralee looked out the window as the teacher introduced herself. She didn't really care much about introductions, it's one of the things she hates doing. As she observes the outside world, she thinks it's very odd how the war suddenly stopped. She thinks it's weird not seeing smoke in the air and dead bodies on the ground. It's what she is used to, yet she can't ever be happier that the war is gone. She might not have much and the school may be old and rickety, but she was grateful.

"I'm going to go find a bathroom. I'll be back." He smiled as he said to Skye. He walked out of the library to try and find a bathroom. He wandered a few halls until ha came across two doors, one labeled: 'Girls' and the other labeled: 'Boys'. He walked into the boy's room and was met with four white tiled walls, a white drop-down ceiling, and a gaping hole where the floor should've been.

"What the hell?" His whisper to himself echoed down into the dark abyss below him. He wanted to go down, but knew he had to somehow get back out. He took a small flashlight from his pocket that was on his keychain and shined it down into the darkness, illuminating the unknown territory. It was a good 30 foot drop, but there was a ladder leading to the top.

'Go!' His conscious told him. He listened and started climbing down.

"Hey Aura I hate to drag you out of your thoughts," Simon easily knew she was thinking or day dreaming, "But I'm awfully bored over here.". When Aura would look over she would see that Simon had stacked all of his books into a fort looking shape, had already drawn countless pictures, and was in the process of sketching Aura. His face was dull, and from the back of the room he could barely hear the teacher rambling, he was obviously being tortured without people to talk to.

Pulled out of her trance, she giggled at Simon's boredom. "Class just started, and you're already bored and did all that?" Aura said while laughing. Looking back up at the teacher, the teacher started talking about how it was before the war. This part was what Auralee wanted to learn about. She wanted to learn about how they lived, and what technology they had. Probably the same as now, the war prevented anyone from actually creating new things. We were all too busy trying to keep ourselves and our family safe.

"Usually I am home doing the same thing, so school is just somewhere to meet a pretty girl," He nudged her at that comment, "And maybe listen about the societies back then.". Simon always wondered what different kinds of people there were, different religions, regions, and tribes were destroyed. Simone wanted to learn what was lost, that was the only thing he cared about.

Auralee smiled at the pretty girl comment. "Ah, okay. I wonder what Ajax and Skye are doing, they still haven't attended class." Aura said, staring at the closed classroom door. Ajax was very kind to her when she first arrived at the school this morning. Looking over at Simon, Aura studied his features. On first sight, people would probably be scared of him. He had a stern, cold look. Really, he's just a really sweet guy. Auralee really liked him, but she wouldn't tell him of course. She returned her gaze to the window, smiling as two birds were flying around each other.

"Ajax seemed pretty smooth, they are probably on some romantic date," Hunter sighed, Ajax did actually seem very perfect in comparison to himself. "Wish I could learn a few things from him.".

Auralee laughed a little bit. "You're quite the romantic too. But, just for practice, how about we go on a date?" She said, blushing slightly but still sounding confident. She has had a spike of confidence ever since she met Simon and she hopes it doesn't run out too soon. Aura forgot all about the others in the classroom, and the blabbering teacher. All she cared about was her conversation with Simon. She is still trying to be careful with her words, she doesn't want to mess anything up.

Hunter again blushed, but he had gained a new self assurance, "Auralee, if i'm not day dreaming, did you just ask me on a date?" Hunter's faced may be flushed red, but he was ecstatic. Simon was really enjoying this girl, she was pretty, sweet, and a perfect amount of shyness that made her still a mystery.

"I said for practice, but if it floats your boat to call it a real date, then sure." Auralee said, winking at him. She turns to the teacher as she's talking about how school was before the war. Everything seemed better before the war, but she also did understand that even that time period had problems as well. She smies softly, with a hint of sadness. Quickly brushing it away, she turns back to Simon.

"Only for practice huh? Well in that case I would love to." Simon replied, not with a wink, but a smug smile crossing his face. He should be smug, he got a date on the first day of school, with someone he really liked spending time with. "So where am I taking you on this date- I mean practice?" Aura was becoming a little more bold so he didn't know what to expect with the place.

"Wherever you want, surprise me." Aura said, giggling as she talked. She was still paying attention to the teacher as the teacher was finally picking up on their talking. She wishes she can skip the rest of the school and go on that date, but her dad would be extremely cross with her if she did. She also doesn't want to go on the school's bad side. Aura glances toward Simon. Does he like me?

"Surprise you? I think I can manage that." Simon wanted to come clean and ask her out seriously, but the teacher was become more attentive. She saw Simon and Aura talk, obviously not happy. Simon began to whisper to the girl, "Aura, what do you like to eat then, because a picnic sounds superb with you.". This was something Simon had experience in, it was one of his favorite things to do.

"I'd eat anything as long as if it was with you." Auralee smiled as the teacher coughed twice. She gazed up in her teacher's general direction, and she's glaring at both her and Simon. Her eyes twinkling with anger. Aura hid under her hair and looked down at her desk.

"Oh I feel so honored." Hunter began a laugh, but was quickly caught be the teacher coughing twice. He listened momentarily before returning his gaze back to Aura, who had hidden in her shyness. "Hey now, its the first day, you can't get in any trouble." Hunter nudged her, hoping she would perk back up.

Auralee slowly looked up at Simon and gave him a weak smile. She didn't want to give the teacher a bad impression of herself. She aimed to be a great student and person to this new free country. The country was rebuilding itself after the war, and soon she hoped that it would be all fixed up and they would be as free as the citizens before the war. After pulling herself out of her thoughts, she finally replied to Simon. "A-Alright." She said as the teacher resumed her presentation.

Mira was walking to the school, soaked with water due to an earlier storm where she lived. She kept her head down so the hoodie completely hid her face; Mira was ready for a day of studying, but alas she knew people there would at least get a little bit suspicious of her. She sighed at the thought, finally reaching the school through all the rubble on the ground, she'd hopped over fallen building pieces to get here. She opened the door, her clothing and shoes had mostly dried out, but the bottoms of her shoes dragged some water; this caused her to slip on the small puddle and land on her back, some books of her's scattering around her. She cringed a little, sitting there for a moment.

Jonathan looks at the girl coming into the class. Someone that looks my style. He walks slowly over there, evading the teachers sight. Very calmly. When he gets near her desk, he says ''Hi, I'm Jonathan, you're the only person I've seen here that i might fit in with, mind introducing yourself?''

Mira peered at the boy, raising her head slightly while some water dripped off her boy-ish black hair. "Mira Gazo," she stated blandly, she didn't mean to sound rude to the boy, but it may have come off that way. Her tone of voice was a habit, so she sounded rude instead of the shy girl she really is. "Pleasure to meet you, Jonathan," she added, a little more kind than she'd expected; Of course, she thought the boy would think of her as another guy until told otherwise, so if he did, she'd just play along until the time was right. If she was wrong, well then he saw through her.

"Mira, eh , beautiful name, almost as beautiful as you, if you don't mind me saying" he laughs slightly. "Nice to have a pretty girl like you around, since all of them instantly go for the short brown haired dudes. " He tilts his head, trying to see the females face more clearly, curious.

Flirty much? Mira thought with a soft chuckle, just audible under her breath. She moved her fingers to her short black locks and rid them of water, then wiped her hands on her jeans. A small sigh came from her mouth to respond to Jonathan, "Eh, I guess I don't mind. Not used to being called pretty, so thank you." She lifted her head again, then removed her hood while fixing her hair -now spiky- back to it's original state. Mira moved her hands to intertwine themselves together and set them on top of the desk.

"Heh, I wasn't flirting, but complimenting you. You seem different to all the girls that have stepped on this class, and I found that curious." He gives a quick glance to the teacher, then back to her
