The Real Us (Private)

Kyouya started out the window as he listened. Maybe this was why he usually didn't invite people over, because they they wanted to talk. He wasn't big on emotional, heartfelt conversations. He shrugged, "Don't worry about me, I'm quite fine." He assured him. In all honestly they didn't seem the type to worry, more focused on the latest 'competition.' He took a deep breath, "I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm not the big talking type, I handle things better internally." He shrugged with a small sigh.

"Then why did you invite me over... You knew I would want to talk, Kyouya-Senpai... Can't you just lean on one of us for once? I wouldn't tell anyone if it were me." Kaoru sighed and shook his head. He really did want to know why he was invited over if he really wasn't going to talk about things. Although he did like that he was invited in the first place. Maybe he could just enjoy the silence with him.

Kyouya sighed, looking up at him. "I suppose is just seemed like a decent idea." He shrugged. He sighed as he spoke, closing his eyes. "And what do you want to talk about? All my problems and deepest concerns?" He asked with a sigh. "Sometimes... it's better to just keep moving forward." He told him.

He returned his look and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm just trying to tell you if you do eventually want to talk to someone, I'm here to listen and not tell." He scooted closer to him. "Kyouya-Senpai, you might just be a little less serious if you have someone to talk to... Why do you care so much about what your father thinks of you?

Kyouya started out the window with a small sigh as he spoke. "I'll keep that in mind but maybe I'm just a serious person." He told him. Did he like to have fun? Sure, but usually that came in the form of plotting his own pay backs and getting people unexpectedly. At his last question though he hesitated. How was he supposed to answer that? He was powerful? Owned the family business? He was his father and family? He took a deep breath. "Why does anyone? My future, possible the future of the family depends on it..." He sighed, it was complicated.

"But How can you be happy if you are always trying to please others?" He looked off to the side, then grinned. Laying down so that his head was in his lap. He looked up at him with a grin. "You need to do something that makes you happy and has nothing to do with working. I don't mean reading your books or working on your computer, just something that would have you get away from all of that even just for a little bit."

Kyoyua sighed, "I fine pleasure in my own ways, just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen." He told him. Kaoru's words were starting to remind him of his sister, always pestering him to get out and have fun. Except... he wasn't his sister, so that changed things. He shrugged, "For me the two aren't completely separate." he admitted, "What do you suggesting anyway?" He asked.

"I'm not entirely sure myself, but... as a friend..." He looked off to the side, staring at the seat. Kyouya's lap was actually a lot more comfortable than he was expecting. "I worry. Since we don't get to actually see you when your happiest. We don't know if you are actually happy." Why was he talking like this? This wasn't like him at all, it was driving him insane. Kaoru himself wasn't acting like himself.

Kyouya glanced down at him, surprisingly not seeming to care much that Karou was laying on his lap. He shrugged, "I suppose I'm happy enough." He told him. It was a bit... complicated. Home wasn't his favorite place to be but he managed. It was a bit impassive when it came to his home. He looked up as they pulled up. "And here we are." He told him, not used to this side of his friends.

Kaoru didn't really want to get up, but he figured it would make things awkward if he didn't. He sat up slowly and slung his bag over his shoulder again getting out of the car. "Just keep it in mind..." He looked up at the house and wasn't all too surprised. It almost looked exactly as he had pictured it. He shut the car door and continued to stare up at the house. Waiting for Kyouya before following after him.

Kyouya nodded, making his way inside. He nodded to the house help before making his way to his room. "This way." He told him, leading him up the stairs and to his bedroom. He tossed his bag beside the door to let him in. It was rather void of personality, pleasant enough but not much more than that.

"Kyouya... do not have any sort of personality at all?" He didn't mean it as an insult, but he couldn't help saying it as he looked around the others room. He din't really have anything hanging on the walls and his bed seemed rather plain. Bed... He had forgotten he hadn't gotten much sleep because of his thoughts from last night. He went over to it and sat down.

Kyouya watched him for a second then away. "I don't see the point, I don't spend much time here. It's more of an office than a living place." he told him, watching him walk around then move over to the bed. "What did you expect? Posters? A secret?" He asked, chucking a bit at the last item, he didn't wear his secrets on his sleeve like everyone else seemed to. "Sorry to disappoint."

"I knew that your secrets wouldn't be that easy to find. As stupid as my brother and I act, we are no where near that stupid in reality." He looked off to the side with a sheepish frown. "I expected some semblance of a personality. I didn't think it would be this blank. And it only makes me worry more... You are an idiot..."

Kyouya chuckled a bit, just a little bit, and shook his head at the comment. "I always assumed as much... people often surprise you like that. " He told him. "Take Tamaki... one of the stupidest people you could mean yes he's right behind me in class ranking... yet he chooses not to be." He shook his head. He blinked, not expecting the insult. "Idiot?" He repeated in shock. "Like I said, I don't use this room for that, besides, i don't need decorations."

"You are an idiot... You don't express yourself at all... How will your father notice you if you act within certain guidelines. If you really want your father to notice you, do something different.." He leaned back and laid out on his bed with a small huff. He looked around the room again not there was much look around at.

Kyouya blinked, he couldn't believe he'd just been called an idiot. He watched him for a minute, looking away. "I'm not sure you understand..." He sighed, "He doesn't respond well to doing things different, It's not that simple." He told him with a sigh, running a finger through his hair, sitting down in his computer chair, watching Kaoru.

Kaoru glanced at him and sighed again. "So I don't fully understand, but you won't tell me anything to help me understand..." He sat and moved so that he was laying on his stomach. "Why can't you just understand that I want to understand you? That I want to be there to help you when you need the help?"

Kyouya watched Kaoru for a long moment, chewing over the options. "He just... isn't impressed by different, as a well off family we have a status to keep, his expectations include meeting his expectations... acting out to get attention is an unnecessary phase, he doesn't want different, In my situation There's only so much expected of me, a limit that I can't drop beneath or excel, it's just how it works." He sighed.

"So you're not going to show who you really are to the world, simply because your father doesn't want you to exceed his expectations? So you really are just an idiot..." He let his head fall and he looked off to the side with a huff. He certainly wasn't expecting to hear that Kyouya was being held back simply because his father demanded it.

Kyouya shook his head, starting to get annoyed by him constantly calling him an idiot. "Not quite... Since I'll never inherit the family business I'll either have to work for my brother or make my own company from scratch..." He trailed off, the second option wasn't what he was supposed to do but, he'd be lying if he said it hadn't crossed his mind. "But there's an order to things, social protocol. I can't just selfishly embarrass my family..." He told him.

"I'm not telling you to embarrass your family, dummy. I'm just saying you could act little more happier in the club... Show a little more emotion. I know you are the dark prince and all that, but what I wanna see is something different behind closed doors." He looked back at him and raised his feet in the air, kicking them back and forth.

Kyouya sighed, rolling his eyes. "I am." He told him simply. "The host club had many merits, one of those personal. My happiness doesn't consist of jumping around, perhaps you just don't know me well enough to know the difference between my moods. I don't just around and goof off when I'm happy like the rest of you." He shrugged with a small sigh.

He frowned and stared at him. "That's why I am wanting to learn more about you.... I want to be able to tell when you are happy, angry, or sad..." He looked off to the side with a soft blush. He had gradually started feeling this way, but he didn't exactly know when it started. He rolled back over and sat up, letting his feet hang off the edge of the bed.

Kyouya watched him, for a second. "My moods just aren't as up and down as yours but they're there, that doesn't make them less real." He pointed out, watching him closely as he spoke. "You assume i'm not happy but... that's not entirely true, not all the time at least." He sighed. "In club... well, I've been happier than I've ever been, that's why I work so hard to make sure it succeeds."
