Fantasy The Queens Guard

Enolx

Time to murder the English language.
The kingdom of Alexandria was once a weak land ruled by wealthy corrupt landlords. People suffered and with the country at the end of its ropes hope had never even been thought as an option. As crime, violence, and slavery ran rampant one woman cam foreword to oppose it. Armed only with strong convictions and an unbreakable will, she fought against the evil that plagued her land.

Her will, passion, and knowledge drew the attention of the landlords how saw their power threatened. Even with the threats on her life she did not waver. When the threats became attempts on her life it seemed like it would be the end of the countries one ray of light. Just when the woman was about to break, alone in her fight, one by one warriors came. The warriors came from all walks of life drawn to the woman for one reason or another but, they all had one thing in common they were some of the strongest warriors in the country.

With the countries strongest warriors at her side and a goal for the future, she pressed on. Landlord after landlord fell to her and soon, she had freed the country from its oppressive system. The people knew who they owed their new lives to and declared the woman queen. The woman took the position with pride, knowing that from here she could make real change and protect the land she cared for. She also knew that she did not get here alone and because of that the warriors that stood by her before became he guard.

As the kingdom of Alexandria started becoming stable, greedy countries and people constantly attack trying to take control of the newly revived country and it fertile lands. Whenever the country was in danger the Queen's elite guard always managed to protect it. Their skills and abilities made the warriors and the Queen they served the symbol of the country.

Now Alexandria has established itself and when people hear the name Alexandria they think of the great queen who leads and her master guard who defends it.

The Queens guard is an action, adventure, and possible romance story. It centers around the queen, and follows her choices for ruling the country and her interactions with her guards. As trial after trial is thrown at the queen will she remain strong or will her and the country fall? That's what we are here to find out.

She was still young compared to other people, other cities, other countries... but now, as she stared out to her beloved city, she had felt as if she had been fighting for well over a century. Aria felt no longer human, turned into a symbol for rebelling against those that oppress the weak. Comparing herself to now... no one could say those two girls were the same. BOth her and this kingdom, so carefully sculpted and protected, was a beacon of hope and freedom. Perhaps Aria could do it... perhaps she could end the suffering of her people.

This was what she always thought as she looked out. Rather than stay at the castle and hold court, she had made arrangements to assist at one of the orphanages she had built up. It would be good for her people to see her. It would bring them hope, bring them happiness. Aria still never really felt like a queen. She was an Alexandrian before everything. After that, she was going to the military barracks to give the soldiers, those who fought and died for her goals, her deepest, heartfelt thanks. It was these two things on the to do list.

After that, she and those with her would be free to do as they wished. For Aria, that usually meant holding court for those who needed assistance, of practicing her harp or her weaving. She had heard the shipment of cloth and fabrics she ordered had arrived, so perhaps she could actually get to work on that dress.

She quietly got dressed, wearing a dark purple mini dress for today. If it was up to Aria, she wouldn't wear things like this... but she WAS the queen. She didn't have to overdress,, but she did need to be identified. Her jewelry consisted of the stone she had been giving on the same day Kaladin had joined her court. She didn't know why she had been gving it, but the gem was lovely enough for her to wear it constantly. This was worn around her neck. Other than that came gloves matching her dress, and Lightbringer strapped to her waist.

She sighed, looking out the windom one more time before heading to the dining room. This was where she usually went in the mornings to hear of any important news while she ate, and to speak with the members of her court. These people were the real reason Aria was still alive, and the reason Alexandria thrived. It made her happy to see so many people striving for a better country for everyone.

"Good morning to everyone." She sais as she sat down, a servant pouring her a drink , and another bringing a plate of food. "I trust there is nothing off about todays news?" She asks, taking a sip of her drink.

Finn had been leaning back in his chair, feet propped up on the table, arms crossed and his eyes closed. These morning meeting where always, always too early, and he wasn't a very good morning person. He was nearly asleep too when the new queen came in and greeted everyone, he opened one eye and looked over at the queen who had just pulled her chair out from under the table and sat down. He grunted softly, opened his other eye and then put his arms out over his head and began to stretch. He groaned, and then relaxed, slamming his hands down on the table, causing a servant girl to jump and utter a small scream. Finn chuckled a bit before turning to the queen.

"Good morning, queen." He replied, smiling.

He quickly observed her, her clothing, the way her hair was done, her nails, all the way down to her jewelry and her sword, whatever she called it. He winked at her and with his sly half smile, opened his mouth to speak.

"I must say, you look absolutely beautiful today.....what did you do?" He asked.

Kalidin woke up to the sound of the queen's voice. He was ordered to be in the dinning hall in the morning, so he decided to sleep there so he wasn't late. He had found that the cross beams, about forty feet above the table, made a good place to sleep. It was suppressingly spacious but almost impossible to get there, Kalidin had to climb, wall run, and make a ten foot jump off a wall to get up. It was the hard work that made it a reward to sleep up there.

Kalidin stood up and started to run through his morning exercises. He started with stretches and then moved on to his Kata. On the slender beam he began to preform dance like movements, creating virtually no sound. He preformed kicks, flips, kart wheels, and handstands up and down the beam. After he finished he grabbed his swords and threw his flute over the side of the beam into in empty chair. He then ran towards the end of the beam and propelled himself down towards the corner of the room. The instant he connected with the wall he reoriented himself and shot off towards the other wall, and when he connected with that wall he shot towards the floor. He hit the floor with a roll and walked over to his chair, like he didn't just wall jump down forty feet, picking up his flute and sitting down.

"Good morning to you my queen," Kalidin replied " I have nothing to report." He then leaned back and softly started playing is flute while he listened to the others speak.

Alisian walked with light graceful steps towards the dining room the end of her black and white dress flowing behind her. Her hair was done up for the day in a braid so would not be moving along with it. She knew very well she was later than usual but she is afraid that was the draw back of not usually doing ones hair. Timing it well.

Striding into the room she smiled at everyone gathered and curtsied in greeting. Already feeling more comfortable in a room full of people that she trusted. Standing she took a seat in the chair she had claimed as her own to the right of the queens. She sent the maid a smile as her usual breakfast was set before her and began to eat though stopped for a moment to speak."Hello everyone. What are the plans for the day?"

Phaze opened his eyes. The room he rented in the inn, was nothing special and yet it was completely satisfying. He put on his robe, walked to the window, and looked out to the palace. He spent a few minutes there, gazing at the place where the queen and all of his companions reside. He was sure, that at one point they will be fighting against each other, but as a warrior he couldn't help it but admire those royal guards. He thought, that if they weren't enemies, they would may become allies. But it was impossible in this rotten world.

Phaze sighed, closed and walked away from the window. He reached to his pockets and pulled out a little sac that contained all his money. Taking out a few coins, he walked downstairs and bought something for breakfast. There were only a few people down there, and most of them was still drunk from the night before. He bought some food, and then headed back upstairs so that people wouldn't stare at his left arm under the robe. He had different feelings for his monstrous arm. From one hand, it gave him a more than useful tool which he can abuse in order to achieve his aim. On the other hand, somewhere deep inside, he hated it because he couldn't really show himself in public.

Getting upstairs, he started having his breakfast, and reading a book. The book's condition was quite bad. Its cover was burned on several places, and its pages were just slightly in a better condition. The title of the book couldn't be read, and Phaze's face wouldn't have helped one to figure out what kind of book it is. He was reading it, giving it his utmost attention.

The Royal Lion stood deathly still in the court, standing near a wall. His blade was drawn and pointed downwards, the tip barely scratching the surface of the floor. He did not flinch or move in the slightest, standing at rapt attention. He had been mistaken for a statue on multiple occasions before, and one child had even attempted to climb him.

There was no reason for him to be there, truthfully. The Queen was safe in the hands of the others, but even so, he felt the need to be there. In case something were to happen, there would be an enormous, metal-clad behemoth at the ready. Fight and die for Alexandria, live and breathe for the Queen. His service was hardly a choice in his mind; it was a necessity. Any who opposed her would have to face the wrath of a zealot, protected by a double layer of protective steel, chainmail, and leathers.

The queen had entered the chamber, earning the bows and reverence of the others present. He made no such move, something he had been criticized for in earlier days. It was believed that the Lion had been making some sort of statement, that he was proclaiming to be equals with the beloved Queen. A simple "I cannot protect with my eyes turned to the floor." was enough to quell the rumors. None doubted him anymore, and all feared him. It was a satisfactory arrangement.

Isla looked up from the trade documents she was reading when the Queen entered the dining hall, giving her a curt head nod as a sign of acknowledgement. She popped a grape in her mouth, chewing the sweet fruit while the rest of the Guard greeted their Queen. Most of the fierce warriors were either sleeping or dazed because of the early time at which they met, but Isla was fully awake and ready to start the day. Harbinger was standing like a statue, as always. Isla glanced around the table at familiar faces, distracted momentarily by Kalidin's flute playing.

"Well," She cleared her throat, reading from the documents that she held in her hand. Isla waved for the servant standing behind her to leave before speaking. "The shipment of new cloths has arrived, as well as weapons, animals, and spices. Everything seems to be going fine in the marketplace, and the number of thieves has gone down significantly in the past month." Isla flipped her dark hair over her shoulder. "There have been people reporting seeing a mysterious man who hides his left arm around town, and word is that he's staying at the inn. I wouldn't be too worried about it, though...he doesn't seem like he'd be a threat."

After consuming his meal, Phaze closed his book, and left the inn. He decided to take a walk through the darkest parts of the capital, where those few criminals - mostly thieves who still hasn't given up - spent their time during daylight and where he could get some information, and probably some ideas, or help. On his way out of the inn he could feel that many pair of eyes were attracted to his strange shape, hiding under his robe. He knew that he won't be able to hide his presence for a long time, but even if the capital had good spies, it would take them from a few days to one or two weeks to realise the potential threat. During this time, Phaze wanted to acquire as much information as possible.

The part of the capital which Phaze visited was undoubtedly the right place for him. One could feel the thousand sharp blades being pointed at them as the thieves and other criminals' eyes would follow all of their steps. First of all, Phaze wanted to measure the capital's defenses. How many soldiers are there, how many are close to the city, how many royal guards does the queen has, and what can be known of them. For getting these kind of informations, what else could prove better than having a long conversation with the local thieves.

Alisian worried her bottom lip thinking Islas words over. Absently listening to Kalidins playing. A suspicious stranger in Alexandrian wasn't new. Here everyone unknown was considered suspicious. Yet, something told her not to ignore the issue. Turning toward Aria she spoke."Excuse me Aria but in the issue of the stranger I think it would be wise to have someone check him out. We wouldnt want to let our guard down just because everything seems peaceful. Would we? Plus we can also assure the people that we listen and hear their problems and suspicions. That could only work in our favor."

Finn slammed his hand down on the table, making the same servant girl jump and utter a small scream in surprise. He looked over his shoulder at her and then back at Alisian. He gave her that half smile, then leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.

"She's right, could be an assassin, a spy, or a scout. Any way, I think we'd ought to check him out just to be safe. Never know, especially since we're an actual country now, some other country could be afraid that we might pose a threat later on."

Kalidin finished his song and laid down his flute. " From my experience it's better to see everything as a threat," Kalidin said " The parinoid tend to live the longest. Also, I will leave the planning to you my queen, this type of thing does not suit me and you have many fine warriors to defend you. If you have need of me, I am at your command."

Kalidin then got up from his seat and walked towards the exit. He gave a nod to Harbinger as he left. With him here Kalidin knew the queen and her jewel was safe, that let him leave without worry. As he passed out of the Castle he scaled the side of it to get a view of the area. " Now what can I do for fun," Kalidin said " I guess I will look for that guy they were talking about."

As Aria began eating her food, the others spurred to life around her. The first one to reply to her had been Finn. ALways the intresting, always the flirty one. Aria knew he probably flirted with her to piss off someone else but, even so, it did feel nice to hear such compliments from time to time... did that make her a badperson? "Thank you Finn, though I'm still jsut the same person I usually am, YO don't HAVe to say the same thing every time, you know." She smies.

As usual, Kaladin well from the ceiling to adress her and play the flute... he didn't sleep up there, did he? That was a disturbing thought. He began to play the flute, which Aria usually permitted because listening to a nice flute player was a decent way for anyone to start the day. She gave a cheerful nod to her ever so mysterious friend.

Alisian was slightly late, but t hat didn't really bother Aria, as they hadn't been through anything important yet. "The only things on the schudule are public visits. I will be visiting the orphanage i constructed for the children of the war victims. Those poor children... I only hope i can do something to help them." She says with a sad smile. "I'll be spending a few hours there. After that, I blan on visiting the barrcks to thank the soliders... Perhaps I'll hlep make a meal for them." She speculated with a smile. "After that is relative free time for you all. I'll hold court for a few hours, then retire to my room." She said.

"It's good to hear the supplies finlly came in." She replied to Isla. "This shipment took a while to get her, longer than most shipments. Was anything said about what took them so long?" She asks. Either way, it warmed her to hear about the decrease in crime... it was working. SLowly, everyone was starting to be happier, more peaceful . This gave her the boost of confidence she needed,

When she heard about the mysterious man, she paused, thinking. Alisan was certinaly right, it merited investigation, but to what end? If they did anything to him without evidence, she was no better than a landlord. If there were multiple reports, that meant he at least unerved a bunch of her subjects... "Finn, may I detail this to you? FInd this man and ascertain if he is any threat to ALexandria or it's people. IF the anwser is no, leave him be. Should the anwser be yes, arrest him... but protect yourselvs, alright?" She asks

She stands up, the meeting concluded, and walks over to her most loyal night. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to put you through hell again, but I'm counting on you to keep me safe."

She turns to everyone and smiles. "It's an hour to the orphanage. Take some time to prepare and get ready, alright?"

It was a good idea for Phaze to go and look for some information as he could acquire more than he hoped. The thieves could provide a very detailed description on the number of soldiers as well as on their whereabouts. They also told Phaze about some of the personal guards of the queen.

One of them is called The Mountain by the thieves. His real name remained unknown, however, he is told to be a man of brute strength, in probably the most durable armor in the kingdom and its neighbors. There wasn't really much as Phaze was told that The Mountain barely ever speaks.

Secondly, they told Phaze about small sized woman who usually follows the queen. They said that even when the majority of the royal guard leaves for any reason, this woman still stays beside the queen. Now this piece of information may not seem to be quite useful for normal people, but for Phaze it helped a lot to polish his plan. Unfortunately enough, none of the thieves could tell him anything useful about the combat capability of this woman, or her name but they told him that she tends to appear at the stables.

The next on the list was a bit hard to get some information of. For some reason the thieves seemed like they don't want to talk about it. Sparrow the Master Thief. Or so they gossiped. Although, Phaze could only get information from the Legends around the legendary thief. Other than that, no detail about his physical appearance, combat capability, true name, hobbies, or whereabouts got revealed.

The last guard of who he could get some sort of information was about a legendary warrior as well.

Other than these quards, the thieves could only provide about traders of a foreign land, and a some kind of ambassador of the elven race.As Phaze was heading back to his room at the inn, his mood changed quite a bit. Now that he knew that the queen has gathered so many fine and legendary warriors, he became sure that he has to make changes in his plan. Since it was no longer about just killing a few guards, he knew that he'll need allies, and an army perhaps. He wasn't too experienced in working as a team since he have been alone for many years now, but he knew that if he wanted to succeed with his plans, he'll need at least one but rather three other kingdom's aid. Getting back to his room, Phaze sat onto his bed, leaned the hilt of his sword to his shoulder, while its edge rested on the bed. He just sat there withouth making any noise, or even opening the old book on his bed next to him. What could he be doing?

Finn stood up and looked Aria square in the eye, he wasn't one for formalities, and especially not laws, since he'd made a name for himself and a living by breaking them.

"I will find out who this man is, and report back, although, I can't guarantee I won't take from him." Finn said.

He chuckled and kicked the chair out away from him, making a loud noise that echoed in the hall. He turned to walk out and stopped before turning to look at the queen.

"Aria, remember, you're no longer just an insurrectionist, you're a queen now. Which means you'll have assassins, kings, and queens from all over the world trying to kill you, not just landlords. Think before you agree to show yourself in public." Finn said.

@ValkyrieRose

Emperor Karaii stood upon the ridge, the remaining half of the Gaurdus Emperii by his side, his people behind him. He looked down from the ridge, looking upon the capitol city of Byvryie, watching the city come under assault again, and again. The enemy was not giving up right now. He could picture Xhai Tan, in the grand palace, with all those who remained behind, valiantly fighting off their foes. But Karaii knew they wouldn't last long. That was why he was elected as the new emperor, and charged with the task of evacuating his people West.

He could see the tides of the enemy, swarming into the doors of the Palace, even from here, almost 20 miles away. He turned around, walking back down the hill, with the Gaurdus Imperii behind him, and his people infront of him. They stood, waiting for orders. 25,000 soldiers, and 75,000 civilians. It wasn't much at all, but the Barovian millitary was one of the best in the world, with advanced technology, and astounding creatures. He gave his army of refugees the order to advance towards the west, and they did so, marching off, towards the sunset in the West. He thought about this, realizing just how poetic it was. They left now, in the dusk of The Old Empire, to emerge into the new dawn of the New Empire.

He mounted his horse, Sundancer, who neighed in greeting. He dug his heels in to the horses sides, racing off, before slowing to a trot alongside his people, giving them hope, and speaking kind words to them, encouraging them that they'd make it, and find a new home, even more glorious than their old homes. The Gaurdus Imperii was also mounted, riding several paces behind him, in perfect formation. He looked up into the sunset, as the dusk of Old Empire, finally faded into darkness behind them. But before it was entirely dark, an ear-shattering explosion ripped through the lands. He could see the blue glow on the ground, the light from afar shining so bright. A couple of seconds later, the shockwaves blasted through, with a tempest of hot wind, that faded a split second after, continuing to fly forward. And infact, if those in Alexandria listened closely, they could hear it too.

Alisian smiled at Finn as she stood. He was right after all. Aria was no longer just a simple rebel but a girl with a kingdom. Though saying that she guessed she was never just a simple rebel. Simple rebels don't get this far or powerful. In all honesty to her Aria was her queen the day she killed the slave drivers and gave her hope. Queens were supposed to give you hope. That's what they were there for.

Walking over to them she gently slid her hand in Arias squeezing it lightly as she sent her a soft smile."Finn is right Aria. From the moment you put on that crown you forced others to finally realize that you are a threat. Because of that they will target you and even though we will all protect even more than we did in battlefield. We are only humans no matter our strength so I am afraid you must meet us halfway."

Aura looks down as her lady in waiting clutches her shoulder is clutched. "I... i know." She said, looking back up to her. "I know that I'm Queen now but... what will the people say if i suddenly disappear from their sight? I can't just be another person that hides away in fear of death, nothing will ever get solved that way. ... i learned that the hard way." She said, remembering the time where she herself had almost been taken away by slavers to be someones plaything... that still gave her a twinge of fear.

She takes a few steps, looking out a window. "I promise I'll be more careful, and I may even lessen my visists but... Alexandria needs to be assured that their queen isn't just standing still waiting for something horrible to befall her country... besides, I have faith in you." She says, turning back to look at everyone. She had wanted Alisain to be her royal guard for a reason... Aria had faith in her combat abilities. She had asked Finn to look into this mysterious man because she trusted his stealth and ability to take to the streets. Kaladin was stong in his own right... Harbinger was her wall, and none would get through him, she knew. Isla talked a game, but she could kill just as easily... she felt more at ease with these people.

"Now then, If that's all, I would like to get moving... no ones going to help those poor children unless we take the initiative."

Alisian smiled at her Queen feeling oddly like a proud mother. For a moment Aria had not looked like a queen but the rebel she once was passionatly giving the speech that had started everything. In some ways though she figured Aria would always be that rebel. She wasn't born a queen but made one which was just find by her. Regular Queens were stuck up and needy if what she has heard from the other kingdoms is correct.

Turning toward the others she smiled at them brightly. "Aria is right. If we are late for a planned event like this what will that show the people? It will show we are unreliable and do not care for those lower than ourselves. Since we all know how untrue that is. Let's do our best to not give them any ensentive to do so. Alright?"

As Kalidin looked over the city he was marveled by the site of it. What may have been a normal city to others was a place of peace and happiness to him. He had spent his entire life jumping from war zone to war zone, master to master. This was one of the only places that he could really say he enjoyed living. As he looked out over the market he thought he saw someone he had not seen for some time.

"That has to be her," Kalidin said " That other man can wait this is much more important." Kalidin than jumped down to the nearest rooftop and began to make his way to the market. Kalidin leaped effortlessly from building to building clearing the distance from the castle to the market in a short time. As he looked around for the woman in the large crowd of people he saw three men following making trouble. They did not seem like a big problem so he decided to leave them to the guards. After a little more careful searching he found the woman buying fruit from a stall. "Ha it was you," Kalidin said with a smile " I've been trying to find you for a while." Kalidin then jumped down from the building and went up to the woman.

He pulled out his coin bag that he had gotten from the queen for his guard duties. He told her that he did not need the money but he was ordered to take to so he did so. He grabbed the woman's outstretched hand and put the large bag of coins in her hand. "What is this," She said as she turned to see who put the bag in he hand. "It is a gift for one of my favorite masters," Kalidin responded " I would have come earlier but, I am kept quite busy by my reckless master."

"Kalidin," the woman proclaimed as she dropped the coins and hugged him. The woman was Kalidin's previous master, the one that had given his jewel to the queen. Kalidin had the utmost respect and love for this woman, out of all of his masters she had been the only one to not use him for her own gain. She could have been in the position of the new queen if she had just ordered it but, instead she had given that away without hesitation. She had instead chose to remain the same and live a simple life of servitude with a new master, barely getting by but always smiling. She was the closest person to understanding Kalidin's life, Kalidin was happy there was people like her. He promised from that day she gave away his jewel, he would give her the life she deserved to live. It was for this reason that he fought and protected this land and its queen.

" I can not take this Kalidin," the woman said " This far too much." Kalidin just smiled for a moment before speaking. " It really is not enough," Kalidin responded " I have also bought for you our old masters home and the lands surround it, the papers are inside." "That must have taken you entire wage and more," the woman said " I can not possibly take it." Kalidin just smiled again and said " You can and will, I know you will do more good than I ever could." Then he moved his eyes towards the bag of gold on the ground and when her eyes shifted from him to it, he disappeared.

Kalidin watched from the top of a building as she looked around for him to no avail. She whispered a "thank you" to the sky before heading off to finish her shopping. Kalidin looked to the sky as well and felt a feeling he had never felt before. " I think this might be what people call happiness," Kalidin said " I like his feeling a lot. I will not let anyone take this from me."

Finn sighed and shrugged his shoulders, she was right. Nobody would help these kids and the less fortunate if Aria didn't set an example.

"Right, you need to set an example. The people are so enthralled with you that they will follow whatever you say." Finn said. "I'm not saying to stop showing yourself, I'm just saying be careful when and where you show yourself. Trust me, I would know all about people wanting to kill you."

He smiled that sly smile and stretched, letting a loud groan out. He was glad that she had given him the chance to find out about this man, "The King of Thieves" couldn't possibly fail in such a easy task.

Isla took in the words of the other members of the Royal Guard, eating while the others were discussing. She chewed a large portion of the sausage on her fork, following it with a large swig of the drink in her cup. Aria mentioned visiting the children in the orphanage, and the fact that they should get a move-on. She was right--although the orphanage was not too far away, less bandits were on the road in the morning than later on in the day.

Standing up from her spot at the large dining table, Isla slipped on the brown leather pirate's jacket she liked to wear when the weather got cold. Isla had obtained it from the first person that she had killed, the pirate captain of a group of smugglers. It smelled of the ocean and rum, the two things most important to a seafarer's life. "I'm ready whenever you are." She walked over to the Queen, her belt full of potions clinking together as her heeled boots struck the marble floor.

Aria nodded, standing up. "Alright then, let's get moving then, alright? WE have a lot to get done, everyone!" She says, leaving after ten minutes of preparation.

Thankfully, the road was pretty quiet not too many bandits out this time of morning. Daylight would reach it's preak in a few hours, and it was then she knew she qould have to worry. She made the trip in silenc,e thinking of what everyone said. She was sad that the world had come to this... thinking about those who would want to kill for no reason made her dream seem that much farther.

When thye reached the orphanage, Aria turned to the others. "Would you like to go in and check if it's clear, my knights?" She asked with a smile. She figured nothing was afoor but, well, as they said, assassins could be anywhere. Even a child could kill with the right instructions... and that made her all the sadder..

Phaze was on his way to the library where he hoped to fins some useful information that could led him to any kind of advance in his plans.Walking in his robe, he chose the most crowded roads of the city, where people wouldn't pay attention to him. He had become very good at travelling without getting too much of the unwanted glances at him., and a crowded road, where everyone is in a hurry is just a perfect example of it.

But just as he wanted to turn left at a corner, a certain sound could be heard but just hardly. The high noise on the street made Phaze almost ignore the sound as he was not sure what it was. But then, he felt something that made him realize what on earth that sound just could be. It was both a curse and a blessing that, due to the story of his arm, he could feel when something dark happens. Be it a strong black magic, the presence of a demon, or either an enormous number of deaths, he feels it.

Phaze was unsure what he should do about it. From the one hand, he knew that he'll need to get certain information about Alexandria if he wanted to succeed. However, on the other hand, he couldn't let himself ignore the feeling just from before. He put on the hood of his robe, and headed towards the stables. Going to the origin of that sound would take too long, but it wouldn't be wise either to use magic getting there. No, he had to keep the fact that he can uses magic in secret.

Fortunately enough, not many people were around, and only a couple of them had any weapons. He chose to sneak to one of the horses but almost failed at it as one of the horses made draw way too much attention just when he was to sneak behind. Eventually, he hopped onto one of the horses that was ready for departure, and rushed out of the city. He could act fast enough so that the guards wouldn't be able to stop him, therefore he had an easy way getting out of the capital.

He hated that he decided to leave, but that feeling contained such opportunities which were worth postponing his plans.

Alisian beamed at Aria. Her queen was trying to make an effort. That's good. It will make their jobs easier.
