Oh God, good luck with that. I don't miss writing assignments! I'm on with a job application and that's enough. I've filled in every box and don't need to submit it until the 30th, so going to keep perfecting it. If only I was as confident in my interview skills. The joys of being unable to not feel nervous in interviews and presentations.

Vinnie's speed is part him and part me. Me because I wanted to keep the scene interesting and moving forward towards... other things. Partly Vinnie wanting to get in first before his kids can yell at him for keeping another secret... I'm sure his mind is seeking advantages too.
