The New Pet

[StartingOver]

Faith sighed looking down.


"Okay." She nodded her head.


"He took care of me at the facility I was kept in."

 

[Ricia]

Melody blinked at Faith, she was so disappointing. It was still a bit weird. "Yeah.. so you saw him a lot? What he do.. feed you and pet you?" Melody asked.

 

[StartingOver]

"Yeah, he was really nice to me." Faith smiled.


"He told me I was a good girl and stuff, snuck me treats and even cuddled me when I was sad."

 

[Ricia]

"Wow.. he does a lot for you... huh?" Melody said. She felt her heart tighten a bit. A beep shocked her a bit out of her moment of anger. There is no reason to be angry... but now that Faith was here, her dad might be around a bit more. Maybe. "Well pizza is done." Melody said smiling. She got up and started her way over to oven. She opened it before taking out a mitten to pull it out.

 

[StartingOver]

Faith smiled at Meldoy.


"He told me about you!" She wagged her tail.


"He hopes we could be friends, you could even take care of me."

 

[Ricia]

"Yeah?" Melody said a bit curious before taking out a pizza cutter and starting to cut up the pizza to slices.

 

[StartingOver]

"He said you needed a pet so here I am!" Faith giggled.


"I know this sounds silly but I always wanted a human of my own, someone to take care of me and in return I can protect them and take care of them." Faith gave a dreamy sigh and rested her head in her hands.


"I'm my own person don't get me wrong but I'd like a human."

 

[Ricia]

Says I need a pet? I need a family.. like a mom or a dad that takes the time to go outside and go on family picnics or yells at her for leaving the milk out all night. Her father was lucky she was such a good kid on her own accord. She didn't even get praise.


"Well I guess I don't have a choice.. and you look like you need someone to watch over you. It sounds kind of.. really weird. Since you are a person.. not a pet. And.. i'm not a pet either. I guess I good relationship to describe this would be sisters." It was hard to stay peppy with all this talk of father. He might not even show up later tonight. "I still have school and stuff."

 

[StartingOver]

"I'm okay with being a pet." Faith said plainly "but if you'd like to think of me as a sister then I'd be happy!" Faith wagged her tail and wiggled her ears. She got up and looked at the pizza.


"I'll sleep all day honestly and I can help with homework i'm very smart!"

 

[Ricia]

"I see... is it because you're not human?" Melody asked the girl. "So.. you have a super human brain.. or something?"

 

[StartingOver]

"Something like that." Faith said.


"I'm good in math and stuff." The neko smiled looking up at Melody.


"Thanks for the pizza!"

 

[Ricia]

"I see... well I do have some math." Melody told her before taking a slice and starting to eat it. Man she was hungry.

 

[StartingOver]

Faith took a slice. She made a purring noise when she smelled it before she inhaled it and grabbed another and repeating the process.

 

[Ricia]

Melody watched a bit amazed as she just took small bites. She took two extra slices and put them on her plate to make sure she did get a few more peices of food.

Faith grabbed one more slice before sitting on the sofa.


"That was amazing!" She gave a happy mew.

 

[Ricia]

"Hey.. please don't sit there when eating... if dad finds crumbs about, he gets upset. He likes things clean. You can eat in my room though." Melody told her. She didn't feel like herself right now. She felt so beyond out of place and unsure.

"Okie dokie!" Faith jumped off.
