The New Pet

James smiled and he pulled his car into the garage. He turned the car off and looked in the back seat he gave a small smiled watching the little Neko sleeping in his back seat. He got out and opened the door to the back and pulled Faith out.


"Come on little kitten." he pulled her into his arms and walked inside. He got the kitten to Melody's room and placed her down onto her bed.


"Sleep well my little neko, your new human will be here to see you soon."

Melody was home a few hours later from school. She walked into the home before calling out into it, "Dad? Are you home?" She took off her shoes at the door and put them in a cubby. When there was no answer she sighed a bit, " I guess it is sweets for dinner tonight!" She hummed happily before heading upstairs.


She opeened her door before walking over to her desk and setting her bag down. She let out another soft sigh before backing up and laying down on her bed. Though unlike the rest of the time she culapsed down on her bed, there was a lump.


Melody jumped up in and turned surprised to see a small girl laying in her bed. "WHOAREYOU?!" Melody asked almost in a yell.
 
Faith opened her eyes. She sat up looking around in a daze. "Mew..?" She blinked rubbing her eyes. Her cat ears twitched some as she yawned.
 
"Who... what.. who.. no... WHAT are you?" Melody soon leaned over and just flat out grabbed one of the cat girls ears as if to try and pull them off her head.
 
"Can you please not pull on my ears ma'am." Faith said politely.


"I'm a kitten... girl.... urm I guess Neko is the correct term." Faith smiled and wagged her tail.
 
Melody let go of the girls ears before standing up and walking out of her room and shutting the door. She opened it back up again and looked the the girl on the bed, "Why are you in my bed? Why are you in my room? Why are you in my house??" Melody asked. Her head was a bit on hyper drive. There was some strange child cat in her bed.. in her room.. in her LOCKED HOUSE. She pretty much lives by herself.
 
"If it makes you feel any better I just woke up here, I have no clue who you are.... I'm very scared." Faith admitted though she wasn't showing it.


"I'm Faith by the way." she gave a soft smile and slid off the bed walking over.
 
"You're not scared!!!" Melody said pointing at Faith. "I'm freaking out! So much so it would make no sense if I was to introduce myself!" Melody said. Though she paused before laughing to herself. "Um... But i'm Melody. Excuse me a moment." Melody said before putting out her phone and dialing her father.
 
Faith frowned some.


"I am scared Melody!" she pouted and went sit back on the bed.


"Hello." James said picking up the phone.


"I assume you found Faith." he said before even hearing what she had to say.
 
Before Melody could even tell her father there was some weirdo in their house..... he already said it. She was silent for a moment before stuttering, "Ph... You could have left a note or something! Maybe even... I don't know, stay for dinner?"
 
"Melody I've always treated you as an adult for better or worse so this won't be any different. I just smuggled out a Neko and brought her home to you. You calling me lets me know that Faith herself hasn't freaked out yet and clawed you into pieces, so calming her down and earning her trust should be top on the list of things to do." He paused.


"She's a sweet girl Melody I'll be home later, feed her,play with her and give her a bath and she should be asleep in no time then we can talk tonight."
 
Melody bristled up before grunted, "Ok.." She then closed the phone, "If you even come home tonight." She murmured. Though he might come home now since his precious pet is here. Melody thought a bit bitterly to herself. She then tossed her phone, "Alright Faith, lets get some food! I'm starved!" Melody told the girl.
 
Faith looked up and smiled.


"Thank you Melody." Faith got up and walked over to her.


"What are we eating... shucks... that sounded rude, I mean I'll be happy with whatever you have!" Faith was extremely polite creature.
 
"Well... if you really want I can try and cook something..." Melody said before opening her door, "or we can just... eat frozen pizza like I do most nights.." She started to travel down the stairs, her hands touched the wall as she did so.. what do you even say to a smuggled experiment?
 
"Well.. I guess if you don't get sick then it is ok..." Melody said before pulling out a cup, then pouring some milk into it. She then pulled out a sparkly red silly straw. The straw turned and whined around in circles and twists. "Here you go." Melody handed over the milk carefully to the smaller girl. After that she turned to the fridge to put the milk back into it and then opened the freezer, pulling out a box. She ripped the box open only to rip the plastic from around the pizza next, spilling frozen shredded cheese onto the floor.


Melody mostly ignored the mess before stuffing the pizza into the oven and turning it on, not even bothering with the pre-heat.
 
"No problem." Melody said softly. It really wasn't. Melody soon threw the boxed pizza onto a pan and straight into the oven, ignoring the pre-heat which wasn't even done. "You can sit down where ever you want." Melody told Faith as she set the timer. "Going to take at least 10 minutes."
 
"Mew!" Melody mimicked. She was not sure why... but at the same time... why not? What else were you suppose to say to a cat child?
 
"Meow!" Faith said happily. She got up and stood up in front of Melody.


"Can you pet me?" Faith asked.


"I'd like that."
 
"No that is a little weird..." Melody declined, waving her hands lightly. "How... about you just tell me... how you know my dad?"
