Fantasy The Misfits

The Infinite Being
The world is full of extrordinary things.  Glowing animals, waterfalls thousands of feet tall, mountains that touch the sky, and so much more!  Perhaps some of the most extrordinary things on earth are people.  Some have, through unknown or unexplainable reasons, developed powers.  Even some aliens have made earth their home.  Many used their powers for the greater good and even though people wre leary at first, they have been accepted into our daily lives.  Of course, some decided to use their powers for personal gain or to counter the rising heroes.  This is all relatively recent and only a few small teams of heroes have been formed.  Recently, however, heroes have been dissapearing.  Some villians have as well, but not as much, it would seem.  With crime now on the rise, will new heroes rise to take their place, or will cities fall into chaos?

This RP will take place primaraly in the fictional city of Portwood.  I'll go with whatever direction the RP goes in (with a few exceptions), but we can allways follow the dissapearences of heroes if we so desire.

"And that's all I need," Whiplash said, removing a flashdrive from a computer.  "Thanks guys."  He walked passed the unconcious bodies he was talking to.  He knew it was a bizar thing to do, but he liked mocking his opponents, even if they couldn't hear him.  He made his way to the stairs and up to the roof of the KorTech building in the buisness district of Portwood.  He took a moment to examine the moonlight reflecting off of the ocean before jumping off the roof.  Using the wires built into the forearm of his suit he caught a neigboring building and headed towards downtown.  He stopped on his usual building and scanned the police frequencies.  Local law enforcement wasn't too keen on his intervening in their busness, so he kept an ear out to see if he was followed after each mission.

Whiplash, A.K.A. Leo Martin, had been looking into KorTech for some time now.  He had reason to believe they were involved in less than reputable actions and had been looking into it.  The owner of KorTech, Collin Kort, had been found to be involved in numerous criminal activities, but always got away clean.  Leo decided to get evidence from a new approach and hacked on of their computers to download information.  It shouldn't be a waste of time regardless of what he found, but he was hoping to find some sort of lead as to why heroes kept dissapearing without a trace.

Storm Maiden (aka Freya Wolke) stared down at the city from the sky as she flew around in one of her recent mentor's patrol routes. Currently she was retracing his steps to try and figure out anything, anything at all that might give her a clue on what had happened to him...

It had only been a week since he had vanished off the face of the Earth and there was no way in hell she was giving up hope.

She had promised herself that she would never ever until the end of the universe give up hope.

Her eyes spotted a particular building in the distance... the KorTech building. In the files her mentor left behind, he had mentioned that thugs and villains would often somehow end up with equipment from that shady company. All in a way that everything was technically legally sold under the guise of "self defense" or some crap like that. Not to mention that her mentor had specifically noted that their lawyers might as well be demons. If they failed to stop your lawsuit in the courts... they would find a more permanent way of stopping you in the back of an alley... or at least that was the impression.

Storm Maiden alighted on a rooftop that overlooked the disreputable business's building and set her hand on the AC unit she landed next to. She carefully siphoned energy from it, shutting off her powers in the process, as she considered her next move. Sadly, busting in there was not a good option for her and she frankly had no idea what to look for once inside... and not to mention she's be technically breaking the law!

She growled at her impotence. Standing right in front of her was her answers but they were effectively out of her reach! Why?! A lead and she can't follow it! This was one of the last few ones she was possibly able to follow up on!

- - - - - -

Minutes later her attention was broken as someone ran like a bat out of hell out of it's the door on KorTech's roof. What?...

Please let this be some kind of answers. Please...

With baited breath she watched as the person used some sort of grapple device to swing along the buildings. She walked along the edge her vantage point as the fugitive made their way into the downtown area. She checked for and destroyed a number of KorTech cameras before stealthily flying off to meet the person who it seemed had just gotten himself in trouble with the totally-not-evil business (stealthy being that she wasn't using her defense aura, that power lit her up light a christmas tree when she used it.)

The heroine stuck below the rooftops as she flew. Coming to the edge of the rooftop the fugitive was on she slowly rose to the top and stepped on the roof's railing as she spoke.

"KorTech's not going to take whatever you just did laying down you know," as she spoke she jerked a thumb back at the highrise she had been on, "I found some cameras on that building over there and tore them off for you, but I'm guessing it won't be long before goons in powersuits start showing up. I suggest we get a move on before then."

"I'm not concerned about goons in power suits or security cameras," Whiplash replied before turning to face her.  He tapped his helmet as he continued speaking.  "Their not going to know who I am and I've dealt with the likes before.  Oh, and I also forced an override on their security system.  It should be a bit before they get anything like that unlocked.  You're Storm Maiden, correct?  Seen you in the news a time or two.  Where's that hero you follow around?"

He stopped for a moment and held up a finger, indicating for her to not start talking.  He then began backing up towards the edge of the roof.  "Ok, yah.  We should get moving.  Police are on their way.  I wouldn't have figured they would decide to peruse me, but they did.  Probably a couple well placed bribes.  Also sightings of a man in a flying suit heading in this direction.  Came out of a parking garage not a block from KorTech.  I have a place we can lay low for a while, if you want to follow.  You came this far, so I'm assuming you do.  Feel free to chat on the way."  With that he turned and lept off the roof.  Again.  He extended his whips and used them as he did before to grab onto anything he could as he swung down the streets.

@ChrisClark13

Allen was out on a night patrol when he heard the police sirens."Finally some action" he thought as he followed them. He went from rooftop to rooftop using his strings as a grappling hook. But as he was running on a rooftop in the distance he saw two figures on a roof and one jumped off and swung away. But that's when he realized that he was out of breath and exhausted from running around all night. "*Huff* god dang-it, not not now *huff*." He then he propped himself up against a door way to the roof top. "*Huff* *sigh* welp, just got to rest for a bit.

Allen took out his phone and started to call up his brother Peter. "*Ring ring ring* Hello?"Hey do you think you can try and look up what the police are doing near the KorTech building?" "Yeah considering it's on the news currently something happened there." "Thanks" "no problem and remember you got to be home soon. Allen panicked he had to choose between getting home before his parents started to worry; Or try and chase after the two people he saw off in the distance. He thought for a moment and decided that he would chase after the two people cause he wasn't getting home on time. He hung up and put his phone in a pocket and zips the pocket up.

(If anyone wants to notice my character then go ahead he's not moving for a little bit)

Three bodies. All of them brutally ripped apart. The blood of the innocent poured onto the hospital walls. Smeared left in right as the victims attempted to flee. The worst part is that they didn't even stand a chance. Humans, normal humans, are no match for the creatures and beasts that hide in the dark. The beings who can choke you by looking at you. The ones that move so fast they become a razor, cutting through solid metals and objects. No human could survive an attack from these things. Thats why SAW was created. The beasts that hide in the shadows give the group of heroes meaning. Power. Without the beasts, the hunters have nothing to hunt. James, however, wasn't a hunter. No, he was more of an observer. A tracker. As he walked around the blood filled hospital room he began to take it all in. Whatever did this was quick and sloppy. The three victims where just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The rips in the victims chests suggest claws of some kind. The cuts were deep and rough. The blood on the ceiling were in thin lines, indicating a very thin weapon. No doubt a result of whatever attacking the victims raising his arm readying for more strikes. That wast all though. They bodies were stacked. One on top of the other. This was peculiar. Dead bodies are very heavy and to be able to stack them would take a lot of strength. James moved on to the rest of the room. No exit holes. No damage to the room at all. Whatever was in there must have gotten out unnoticed. How that's possible James has no idea. A light began flashing in the side of his helmet. It had detected a decent level of radiation in the room, but it was detecting even more on the roof. Without any hesitation James made his way up the staircase. There, on a huge spike was more bodies. Skewered like a kabob. Just like the others, they were ripped open. James had seen enough. It had to have been a chameleon like creature. Intelligent. Claws to rip apart it's victims. Camouflage to get away from the crime scene. He was probably in the sewer system. James filled out the familiar crime reports and emails them to the proper channels. SAW would send a team to the sewers to clean out the trash. James returned to the elevator and opened the doorway back to SAW's facility. A twist and turn, and James was back. The door behind him collapsed into a ring and James put it back in its place inside his briefcase.

An alert popped up on James's helmet. It was an email from the board. There were some heroes that broke into a facility. They were currently being chased by the authorities. James wasn't only a crime scene investigator, he was also an exit. Most people think that all heroes have this uncanny ability to just disappear fro somewhere. Little do they know it's the investigator. The name James took from his predecessor. These heroes being chased were trying to use the roofs as an escape route. It would have been a good plan but whoever paid off the cops had enough money to pay for a couple of police helicopters. They were closing in. It was time for James to give the heroes an exit. SAW has hackers that can get into any system, so it took no time to get into one of the cameras on the helicopters. James scanned the area for a doorway, an archway, or anything he could make a door at. Then he saw it. If he opened the door right now he'd be able to make it there before the heroes got there. James quickly grabbed his door and opened it up. He focused all of his energy and linked the two. One step, a few twists, and a falling sensation later he was there. On the rooftops. The door swung open and the two being chased were swinging right towards him. James waved to get their attention and stepped out of the way, giving them a straight shot into the doorway.

"Need an exit?"

Storm Maiden opened her mouth to respond, "He-", before Whiplash cut her off with a raise of his finger.

After Whiplash was done speaking she gave a nod and used her flight to get beside him as they moved.

"He vanished just a week ago... like so many others before him," she said forlornly as anger started to build up in her voice, "He was looking into the vanishings. He was careful, but then he was gone too."

A moment later she continued, determination in her voice, "And I'm going to find him if it's the last thing I do. Here's hoping you got some leads out of whatever the hell you did in there... but,  I can pay you to go back in there if I need to, Galeforce left me with enough money for something like that."

((Leaving a space for Whiplash's response))

Then up ahead she noticed-the Investigator was it-just waving them down.

That "helper" was one of her prime suspects behind the vanishings. Although she had made use of the Investigator's power a couple times in the past when Galeforce was still around... there was no way she was going to step through one of his portals at the moment.

She leveled a gigawatt level glare at the man behind her domino mask, "Investigator." she spat, "Why should we trust you. Heroes are vanishing and I'm not blind." She clenched her fist as it crackled with lightning.

Cory walked about the streets of the town, having always enjoyed a nice evening stroll. Her suit was back at home and the Module was in the workshop for repairs after she clipped the wing on a tree during a test flight. The only gear currently being worn were her spark gloves, as she called them. Her hair was down, blowing gently in the breeze off the ocean as she wandered down lamp-lit sidewalks, passing by the KorTech building. She'd been right below it when a figure jumped out of an upper window and swung on long tendrils down the street. Not moments later, she began to hear the sirens and another figure following behind. With no way to follow them at speed, she kept walking.

Curiosity is a funny thing and Cory's figured for a while that her cat's behavior has rubbed off on her. The teen started to jog, which quickly evolved into a sprint, into an all-out sprint after the two heroes. Lights flashed on the building in front of her from police cars rounding the corner and she ducked inside an alcove as they passed. Not even slowing down to catch a glimpse of her, she sighed in relief- they weren't here for her. What she did have on her for transportation was her skateboard slung over her back. She un-clipped it and tossed the board ahead of her.

No helmet as she's done this plenty of times, Cory pushed off and rolled down the street, reaching into her pocket for her key chain. A golden snitch dongle flashed in the street light. She pressed both wings down until they clicked into a perfect ball shape and the board beneath her vibrated, her propulsion system activating. Cory zoomed past the police cars with no issue as she was still on the sidewalk. In roughly a minute, she was cruising beneath the other two overhead.

"My old mentor also dissapeared," Whiplash replied.  "I downloaded some inormation from KorTech that I'm hoping will help."  When the figure walked out of the stairway, he stopped on the same rooftop.  Partly to see what was going on and partly to regain some energy.  He didn't recognize this man, but he hadn't been doing this whole hero thing for too long either.  Storm Maidon's burst of anger, however, gave him the impression to not trust him.  "I'm going to be honest.  I have no clue who you are, but I don't trust people who offer escapes by random rooftop door.  Besides, I have places to be."

He turned around to face the two helicopters.  He noticed the police losing in down the street and what appeared to be someone on a rocket scateboard.  A few buildings away he also thought he saw a person leaning on a wall (Allen), but could only deal with one problem at a time.  They hadn't started shooting yet, which meant they wanted them alive.  When they got close enough, he used his right whip to wrap around a landing skid.  Though he was just about at the end of his whip, he sent a burst of stored kinetic energy down the whip.  It bent the skid and sent it off course.  It would probably run off to find a place to land to access the damage done.  "I appreciate the offer, I guess, but I need to get going.  Storm Maidon, please come with.  We could work well together."

As Storm Maidon could probably tell by now, he wasn't good at waiting.  He ran off the roof and grabbed the rutter with his whip.  As he began to let go, he sent an electric current into the vehicle.  He was heading for a more residential area.  Along the way he would pass the figure on the roof, but hoped there wouldn't be any trouble.

Cory'd come to a stop at the base of the building with the helicopters and watched in awe as the tendril-wielding figure took one down. She had to get her gear, she had to tell Mom to stay inside for the night. They knew this town was a little strange but they didn't know it would be this strange. The teen took off again, rocketing down the street on her board.

Streets passed, she entered the residential area and pulled up to the house, turning off her board as she sprinted to the door, unlocking it and flinging it open. "MOM! I've got work to do, need the FI!- Thanks, love ya, gotta run!" She could hear her mother talking after her as she sprinted downstairs to the workshop and flicked on the lights to grab the Module and sling it over her shoulders. Strapping it on and grabbing her flight goggles, Cory sprinted back up, flicking up her hood. As she got out to the yard, she turned on the module and heard the wings unfolding as she checked the lighter fluid in her gloves. Good to go, She took off and began circling over the house, hoping the heroes- she hoped they were at least- would notice and stop to chat somewhat. Test flights all the time gave her a good layout of the forest on the not ocean side of town and there were plenty of places to hide. Cory- now Phoenix- didn't know why she was helping them but she'd give it a shot.

"OVER HERE!" She shouted, banking to start the hawk-like circle.

@ChrisClark13 @Shog

Storm Maiden levels another glare at Investigator before flying off after Whiplash. As she flew she glanced backwards, seeing that the remaining helicopter was still in pursuit. Shame she didn't have a way of downing it without crashing it to crash or hurt the people inside of it. Though unless she managed to come up with a way to get the copter off her tail she probably was going to have any luck in suddenly diving into a hiding spot.

Agh, she would do what she had to do.

Twisting around mid-flight to get a better shot on the helicopter, she raised her hand and flung a bolt of lightning at it. The slammed into the front of the copter before it suddenly started losing altitude, hopefully that had managed to do a number on the control panels and such.

@Shog

That dealt with for now, she continued following Whiplash... that is until someone with a wing-pack of some sort showed up calling for her to follow. A glance back at the pursuit then at this new person... she didn't want them getting in the crossfire.

"HEY! What do you think you're doing here?!" She yells at the wayward hero.

@Moolock

"I know a safe place!" She shouted back, completing the circle and swooping off over the forest. One can never really get used to a bird's eye view of the world and Cory was still amazed by how she felt like she could see everything, including the sea shore beyond the town and the forest, as well as the shore beyond the green headed the other way- right in her path.

The place she had in mind was a cavern of sorts she'd found and taken a liking to. It was small, dry, and the entrance could easily be obscured by being stuffed with driftwood and dried leaves. Rocks stuck out of the water around it, making the area impassable for boats and the ocean winds made it a danger for helicopters of getting blown into the cliff. Cory banked a little, now heading over the forest in the direction of that seaside cavern.

@ChrisClark13

Whiplash was becoming rather annoyed.  What was it, "Babysit Whiplash Day?"  First random guy in a suit offers him an "out" through some random staircase and then flying girl tryies to get him to follow her?  No, he wasn't going to do that.  She was heading towards the forest, and that is not where he wanted to go.  He used his old mentor's hideout, and there were several ways to get to it.  Hidden doorways were located all over the city.  Most connected back to some abandoned areas of the subway, which was a more direct rout to the hideout.  The Helicopters were taken care of, thanks to himself and Storm Maiden, and he could lose the police cars traveling by rooftop.

He landed on top of an appartment complex and began messing with the device on his arm.  He isolated a radio signa the girl with metal wings was using and tapped into the frequencly.  "I'm not going into the forest," he said, knowing full and well that she could hear him.  "I have my own safe place I need to get to.  Mine even has a computer I need, so I'm heading there.  I can meet you there later if you feel the need."  He landed in an ally and hid behind a trash can as a couple police cars drove by.  He then began searching the wall for the trigger he knew was there somewhere.  He didn't use this enterence much and mentally cursed himself for not being more prepared.

Storm Maiden sighed and gave a parting wave to the wing-pack girl before getting back to flying after Whiplash.

When the maybe-a-hero dropped down to the alleyway, she stayed behind to keep a lookout. Good thing too because not even a couple minutes later she spotted a red light flying towards her position, 'Great', she thought, 'another random person looking for new friends'.

She sighed with annoyance as she waited for whoever it was to get within earshot... though something about how the person tipped her off that they might not be friendly, such as the moderately armored flight-capable powersuit they were wearing. She started to yell at them, "HEY! WHAT DO YOU- Ah!" when a bola shot out of a weapon on their arm and right at the heroine.

Luckily they were far away enough that she had ample enough time to dodge the projectile by getting behind the outcropping held the rooftop door.

"Whiplash!" she yelled as she activated her barrier power, "We've got company up here... of the unfriendly kind!"

She yelped as she jumped to the side to avoid the goon's... taser sword? 'Well, on second thought it was really just a tricked out taser baton but-'

Her train of thought was ended as she yelped again as she leapt into the air to avoid getting struck.

Whoever this goon was, it seemed they didn't play around.

(NPC Powersuit goon is part of a small hero/bounty hunting group is in KorTech's pocket and has the company lawyers at their disposal. Honestly they're just mercenaries with a coat of heroic paint splashed on them. The Powersuit Goon's suit is moderately armored and possesses a bola launcher, a taser baton shaped like a sword, and is capable of what could barely pass as agile flight.)

Just when Whiplash began to think he was getting close to the enterence, trouble showed up.  He quickly pulled himself up onto the roof of the building and quickly assessed the situation.  He hand't seen the power suit before, but had little doubt it could do some serious damage.  Whoever wa in the suit seemed to be intent on taking Storm Maiden down at the moment, but didn't hesitate to shoot a bola at him.  It managed to wrap around his upper body and nearly knocked him over and off the roof.  He focused and the bola began to glow a redish color like his whips usually did.  It unwrapped from around him and flew towards the power suit.  Seeing as he was distracted with Storm, he didn't notice it flying towards him until it had already wrapped around his legs.  He fell over, but broke it by spreading his legs.  It clearly took some effort, so that was a good judge of the strength the armor could provide.

(This would be a good oprotunity for anyone to get to the group.  @ChrisClark13@Moolock@Jack in the Box@Deathchart)

James wasn't happy with the heroes decision to not take his generous offer of an exit, but he understood. The disappearing heroes has caused a lot of chaos recently and he was definitely on some suspect lists. As the heroes began to run to whatever escape they had planned, James started walking towards his exit. The sound of two helicopters crashing and burning caught his attention. Those two were going to cause a lot of damage if they kept throwing things around and blowing this up. James disconnected the exit and made his way towards the two heroes. He recognized one as Storm Maiden. She never trusted him, which was understandable. James remembers hearing something about her losing a partner to the disappearances. His thoughts were interrupted as Storm Maiden was attacked by what looked like a guy in a power suit. The other hero, Whiplash from what James could tell, helped her but the goon's armor was resistant to the attacks. His suit was made for it. As the goon began standing back up James made his way towards the three. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his revolver. Loading an EMP bullet into the chamber was easy to do while running and luckily James had practiced shooting while moving too. He aimed the goon into the sight of the revolver and pulled the trigger. The bullet flew into the air and the prongs extended from the tip. As the bullet contacted the suit it stuck onto it like a leech. The initial EMP blast knocked out the suit for a little bit, leaving it vulnerable to attack. The bullet would continue to blast the suit, but not for much longer. The suit would shed its outer layer of armor and the bullet would go with it. James only hoped that the other heroes would be able to take the goon out before the suit came back on.

Seeing an opening, Storm Maiden spun around on her feet and quickly got into a wide-set stance. She threw her arm forwards as she unleashed a powerful blast of lightning at the goon.

Lucky for the goon he was able to bring up his taser sword-baton-thing and use that to absorb the blast. Unluckily this left the weapon a smoking wreck and he quickly discarded it along with the part of his chest armor that the EMP bullet had struck.

The goon let out a growl as he got back up and sized up the opposition he was facing. There was no doubt about it, he was outmatched... best to complete his objective while he still could! He whipped out his arm and shot of a series of bolas at Storm Maiden and the Investigator before charging at Whiplash, intent on at the very least retrieving or destroying the stolen data on the flashdrive.

Storm Maiden grunted as the bola's ensnared her (she thought she had dodged that! Well, she had dodged the first one!) and it was only thanks to her flight power and some combat experience that she didn't hit the ground. She ducked behind a ventilation unit as she got to work untangling herself.

Cory got his message and winced, slowing down and coming to a hawk circle in the air, a maneuver she knew by heart so she could check her systems and replay the message. So he's got a fancy hideout. Course, what were you thinking, they'd follow some nerd they didn't know? Probably trust a snake more than me. She frowned deeply and played the message a third time. They didn't need her help, why would they? But, another part of her shot back, it might be fun to go watch anyway, see what level they're at. The flier groaned and completed the circle, gearing up the engine again to shoot back toward the city. She came in low to the top of a building beside the duo's. Though ducked behind the bench-high lip of the building, she could see the fight. That lightning one and the other guy who messaged her looked to be having it out with a piece of... armor? A suit? She folded the wings, though left the goggles on for better visibility and watched it go down. "I should get some popcorn," she muttered to herself. "Whoa... they're good." She didn't send a message to the other guy to tell him he was here- he probably wouldn't care anyway. All she hopped was the armor thing wouldn't see her- she wouldn't want the others to get angry at her if she interfered.

Being the "runt" of his family, Whiplash knew a thing or two about taking on larger opponents.  Admittedly this was much larger than the usual thanks to the armor, but the basic concepts were the same.  Probably.

The goon was charging straight on.  He would probably do some serious damage if he managed to hit Whiplash.  He moved to the side to avoid the charge.  He lashed out and wrapped one of his whips around the guys shoulder.  He sent some stored kinetic energy out to hopefully propel the goon off the edge of the roof.  It would probably have worked with a normal person, but the suit seemed to help the guy stop in time.  Before Whiplash could respond,the goon grabbed his whip with both hands and used it to throw whiplash off his feet and over the edge of the building.  His back slamed into the wall of the neighboring building and then fell aganst the same building as the goon.  If it wasn't for his helmet he probably would have been knocked out cold.  While he was still concious, he became disoriented and stopped providing power to the whip.  The thin pice of metal at the core no longer had the power to support his weight and, as the goon tried to pull him back to the roof it snapped, sending Whiplash plumiting towards the ground.

Cory'd watched Whiplash's predicament unfold and had withdrawn the wings again, keeping down in case the goon noticed. When it threw him, one thought flew through her mind: Catch him. Launching herself to her feet and over the side of the building, she folded the wings inward, entering a falcon-like dive. Ground's getting closer- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.... Her hand closed around his ankle and she jerked downward as the engine roared into overdrive. "GOTCHA!" Her grip wavered and she adjusted with a little "Whoa sorry!" as they continued upward, the sky nearing.

@Shog

(Don't want to be op so if that wouldn't have worked, it's up to you :) )

When the goon turned his back to her, her combat instincts honed by years of tag-team combat screamed at her that this was an opening was too good to pass up!

And so even with her arms still bound by the bola she charged straight at the goon. As she neared she used her flight power to add to her momentum and lift herself into the air,

The goon barely had the time to react when the heroine's feet slammed into the back of his powersuit, sending him toppling head-over-heels off the edge of the roof. Down, down he tumbled. He immediately flared his suit's thrusters to try and correct his course, but he only was able to lessen the force of the impact when the ground rose up to meet him.

As for Storm Maiden the trajectory of the kick had sent her flipping head over heels into the herself, but unlike the goon she had plenty of experience when it came to stabilizing her flight. She was just able to catch sight of the goon as he executed a rather painful looking belly flop when he hit the ground.

Also luckily the wing-pack person had been able to catch Whiplash, she'd have to thank them later. For now she had another matter to take care of.

She struck the goon with two moderately powerful bolts of lightning before floating down to see if the goon was still conscious. A groan escaped the slowly rose to his feet, but the heroine was having none of that as so she hammered the guy with another bolt of lightning, "If you know what's good for you, goon, you'll say down. Got it?"

Another groan, but this time the goon showed that he did indeed have some brains when he did in fact, stay down with his face kissing the pavement. (His number wasn't on KorTech's speed dial for no reason after all.)

With a victorious smirk Storm Maiden looked up and gave a thumbs up at Whiplash and wing-pack person, flying up to meet them on the roof.

Meanwhile the flashing lights of cop cars and the wail of their sirens could be seen and heard from not too far away. Also the powersuit goon decided that he might as well stay on the ground until the cops got here, it's not like he was in the wrong here.

Whiplash's mind cleared and he tried to get a baring on his surroundings.  It was a bit difficult at first because he changed directions from down to up.  Being upside down didn't help either.  Normally he would fight agains being carried by the ankle, but he knew she was here to help.  Unless this was some intricate kidnapping plot, but that seemed unlikely.  As they reached the roof, however, he used his good whip to grab he ledge and twisted to escape the grasp.  This woud probably be easier than her trying to set him down anyway.  After regaining his composure, he looked over the edge to make sure that the goon was indeed staying down.  He wasn't even moving.  The moaning was the only sign he was even alive.

He turned to Storm Maiden to thank her and realized that she was still wrapped up with a bola.  "Thank you for taking him down," he siad as he grabbed the bola.  It glowed the same red as usual and unwrapped from around her body.  He moved over to the guy in the suit and took his off as well, but didn't truely acknowledge him beyond that.  Instead his attention turned to the flying girl.  "Thank you for the assist.  I suppose I should introduce myself.  I'm Whiplash.  You probably already know Storm Maiden here."

His attention was cut short when he noticed how close the police truely were.  "Quickly!  Follow me!  We can dissappear with ease."  With that he lowered himself down to ground level.  The goon was still laying there, but he didn't want to take any chances and used his power to help position the large trash cans in a way that blocked his view of them.  With time running short he quickly pressed his hand on several places on the wall.  One spot lit up momentarally and part of the wall retracted before moving to the side, revealing hole leading almost strait down with a ladder.  With a wave of his hand he shouted "Come on!"

(Just to clarify, he can "lock" his whips in certain positons.  In this sense he could make them ridged enough to be used as batons and put bends in them to grab ledges.)

@Moolock(I was planning on the rescue, actually) @Deathchart(I'm just going to assume you got hit) @ChrisClark13

Cory circled the building where Storm Maiden'd landed to reduce incoming speed and get a good angle on the rooftop. "Nice to meet you, Whiplash, Storm Maiden. I'm Cor- um.." She racked her brains for a cool name suiting her abilities. "Uh... Phoenix. I'm Phoenix- or Fi, whichever." She stepped back from the two, going over to the far edge of the building, pulling up her goggles as she turned away. The Module's wings folded inward until the entire contraption was no more than the size of a small backpack. "Wait," she called after them, wings promptly unfolding again. "Wait am I in this we? Or- no.. never mind. Uh... I can distract them if you want?"
