“Atta boy James,” replied Sirius, glad that at least Potter was spared from a thrashing. “Bloody troll got a few good hits in on me. I’ll be alright,” he said, rubbing his jaw. Peter curiously glanced at Sirius. “Poor Sirius,” he muttered with a frown.

Remus was just glad that none of them were questioning how he managed to throw Mulciber to the ground. “Do you need to go to the Hospital Wing?”

“Nah I’ll be alright,” said Sirius, trying to brush it off. “Are you sure? You really should go,” said Peter. “And what do you suggest I say I’m in for? Fighting with another student? Yea no thanks,” replied Sirius.

“Like she’d believe that,” scoffed Sirius. “James how about you? Are you alright?” Peter asked, handing the boy back his glasses.

“Oh, I’m fine. If you don’t want to see the nurse, I might have some salve for those bruises that should fix you right up.” James smiled.

“That’d be better,” replied Sirius with a nod. “I don’t need Pomfrey on my arse about this.”

“I might get suspended if she knows the truth- about me fighting. It’s best we don’t go to her,” said Sirius.

Remus nodded. “Are you both okay with walking? Are either of your legs hurt?”

“I’m standing, aren’t I? I’m fine.”

“I’m fine. He only got me in the gut and face,” Sirius told him. The four boys made their way back into the castle and to Gryffindor Tower.

“I’m fine Remus- promise,” said Sirius as the four reached the painting of the Fat Lady. Peter said the password and the portrait swung open to allow the Gryffindors into their common room, the lion’s den.

Remus nodded. He wiped his sweaty palms on his trousers. He was starting to feel a bit sick as he kept thinking about what Mulciber said. That he was a freak. His friends didn’t seem to think so, though.

Sirius collapsed into one of the couches and sprawled out, groaning. “Bloody hell,” he moaned. Peter made himself cozy in an arm chair next to Sirius. “What an eventful first day,” said the Black.

Sirius grinned and nodded along with James. “I agree. This blows staying at home out of the water! We’ve already done so much and it’s only the first day!” he mused. “It is rather exhilarating isn’t it,” chimed in Peter.

“How do you not have any energy?” Sirius asked Remus with a grin. Peter yawned, “Don’t look at me,” he said. “They’re the ones who did all the crazy stuff today.”

“If you’re going to hang with us, you’ve got to keep up,” giggled Sirius. “And even if you don’t- you’re stuck with us. I won’t let ya leave so easily.”

“Remus, we’d never abandon you. And you could never disappointed us,” replied Sirius. “Yea!” Peter chimed in with agreement. “Us four, we stick together.”
