Fantasy (。◕‿◕。)The Lunar Lotus Inn(。◕︵◕。) [All Are Welcome~]

"Oh don't worry, you didn't scare me." She reassured him. Lunella shook her head lightly and smiled, amused by his response. "Well angel, demon, or otherwise, I'm happy to have met you." She picked her can of punch up and took another happy sip, savoring the sweet flavor.

"So after tonight do you think I could see you again?" Misery asked hopeful. He thought for certain he'd be shot down

"There's a good chance you'll see me again. Especially if you ever find yourself near the lake." Lunella said, smiling sweetly.

A distant crack of thunder could be heard.

"Hold that thought. I need to go check something." Alagos said to the injured bar owner.

After walking through the woods for a few minutes, Alagos stopped near a fallen log. He piled up some wood, pulling a rusted sword from underneath his cloak. He jabbed it into the ground, sending electric sparks through it and igniting the fire. Alagos left the sword in the fire, sitting on the log and pulling up the hood on his cloak.

News of Syreth's collapse will reach here soon... Maybe in a month or so. I'll have to act surprised when it does. Although, if someone compares the date of my arrival with the collapse, that'll dismiss any suspicions. Nobody can travel a thousand miles in a fortnight, after all.

Lunella laughed lightly and smiled. She was happy to have made a friend in her new home. It had been a little lonely with just the fish to talk to since her sister had left. "Well I look forward to seeing you again sometime."

Shera walks back outside with a plate of full of crackers, cheeses, and sliced apples. She sets them down near the innkeeper. "I can't cook, so I just grabbed some stuff from the pantry. I hope no one needed them" Her knees bend and she props herself against the inn wall, taking a small slice of apple and eating it. Curiosity getting the best of her, she asks "How did you get so injured?"

The vampire seemed to be contemplating his tale with some amusement, which was better than apathy or disbelief. The unexpected poke nearly had him jump before she revealed her thoughts. “Good to know I'm not the only one to misstep every now and then...” Caliban mused, a part of him however shivered at the image of Joselyn in a frenzy.

Dismissing the notion with a slight shake of his head he fell into a reluctant pause, taking a few heartbeats to study those inquisitive violet orbs and consider his next words. “The dagger itself might just be a simple tool, but it houses something from beyond this plane, it likes the name Aramith, so that's what I call it.” The rogue paused to glance over Joselyn's shoulder, assuring himself that the men were well out of earshot. “He can take parts of you; memories, quirks, talents... In return, I got to glimpse into his realm.”

To emphasize his point he allowed his hand to turn into a wispy fog starting from the fingers down. “Grew up on the streets, it wasn't easy but I managed. Even had friends, a home, people to care for... or so I'd like to think, but there's no real memories left, no faces, no names. I want those back.” His hand re-materialized and dropped to pat the hilt of the dagger. “I've mentioned the business of procuring things? Pretty good at it too, so its only a matter of time.” The grim features that had been sneaking up on him melted back into an easy smile as he finished the explanation.

“By the way, you mentioned offering something? I assume its not free, as nothing ever is.. but is it worth the price?” Currently more interested in sating his curiosity than anything, the rogue couldn't help but be lured by the concept of immortality his current companion possessed.

"I'll leave you alone for now." He winked at you and left. He walked outside and started to think.

A thousand miles away from the brothers a terrible crime was being committed. A young child at the age of 8 was being chased. The child had red hair and eyes. Tears were streaming down his face as he ran through the forest. The branches of the trees slapped and cut at his face and neck. A couple of meters back was a cottage that houses his now dead aunt Joy. He cried out "Help me! Please I don't want to die! Daddy!" He ran into a man in orange robes and fell over. He started to crawl backwards as the man pulled out a butcher knife. He brought it down on the child and the child screamed for the last time.

At the inn Misery and Fear fell over in sync. Misery started to bawl and put his face into his hands. Fear laid there in shock.

@Anyone

Alagos straightened. Time to go... he thought, pulling the ash-covered sword from the fire. At the inn, he spied the bartender lying on the ground.

"Did I hurt you? If I did, I'm sorry. I was drunk. Need help?"

@Hisan

Fear looked up at the man and slowly got up. He brought his hand to the back of his head and felt a couple of shards sticking out the back of his head. He started to take them out and said "Plastic bag would be nice."

@Stormyface

(I don't think they've invented plastic yet, could be wrong, don't know what time period this is exactly)

"I have a towel. Is that an acceptable substitute?"

Takara Hiroji

As the young innkeeper had sat there with his back against the wall and the other male standing nearby him for about a moment or so. It wasn't until the man had questioned about whether or not there was any job for him to do around nearby and by the sound in his own voice, the man had seemed to hold a job in thought of killing for bounties of such. Takara had no real idea of any particular job to match such a thing for the inn but the thought was pondered through the innkeeper's head for a bit; maybe he could serve as a guard for the inn, one couldn't have too much protection anyway. Once the sudden crackle of thunder in the distance had caught his gaze and the immediate statement from the man saying that he required to check up on something, Takara would simply nod his head in response as he had watched as the man rushed off towards the direction of the thunder. All the while, right after the man had rushed off; it wasn't long before the same woman from earlier had made her own appearance back over towards where Takara was, placing down a tray of what seemed to had been crackers, cheese and apples. The sight of this only causing him to chuckle ever so slightly before he would simply shake his head as he leaned ever carefully back against the large inn wall before letting his head rest against it as well. "Ah. Not a problem, no one will need these. Thank you miss for bringing them." As Takara had spoken, he would've simply taken a small piece of the cheddar cheese before simply throwing it into his mouth to eat a bit. Although he wasn't too hungry as it was, after that battle against those guardians; he was going to need to recover his strength anyway and sooner or later need to learn how to figure out how he was going to be able to use his dark abilities without his own questioning thoughts get in way or let alone let his curse decide to reappear in the middle of battle.

Once the woman had questioned how he had gotten his injuries, for the slightest moment; all Takara could do was remain silent while he had eaten the cheese before actually deciding to speak up.
"There is a place...near here. That I must get into...there are guards there. That I must prove myself to...and I had been proven that I simply am not strong enough yet.." Obviously enough, the innkeeper wasn't about to simply tell this woman everything and just about where or what the place was; the last thing he needed was a guest or even any employee getting themselves terribly hurt because they had wanted to help out Takara or even worse end up getting themselves killed in the process.

"I don't know your name, much less who Misery is or where he went. I've been picking mushrooms for the past ten minutes."

@Nathan22

Lunella stayed at the table for a time, just watching the other patrons. Getting up she smiled at the now empty can of punch before heading towards the door. She walked slowly back to the Lake, thinking of the new friends she'd made today. 'Fera and Misery.. Maybe I won't be as alone here as I thought..' She smiled and hummed lightly as she walked into the lake. She waded out, letting the cool water trail through her fingers, before laying back in the water and letting the the motion of the lake sooth her into state of quiet peace.

Misery got up and continued to cry as he walked. He put his mask on and felt her presence. 'He's dead...our son.' She said. Misery nodded he cried out but with the mask on he had no voice. He walked past the lake and collapsed about 3 meters from the inn.

Fear looked at the man "I'm fear." Fear got up and walked out the inn.

"So is that a nickname? Are you some kind of demon that perpetrated fear and just decided to work at an inn?" Alagos followed Fear out of the inn. Least he could do was make sure he didn't collapse again.

The woman tilted her head in confusion. Prove himself? To who? And why? Questions ran through her head. She knew that he probably wouldn't be very open about it, but she asked anyway. "I found out I was a witch recently, so forgive me for the stupid question, but is this some sort of 'coming of age' thing? Chapter 9 mentioned some races having them for the young..." She trailed off and touched the book on the inside of her cloak. "And why would you need to prove yourself to anyone? I mean- like- how do I put it..." A pause separated her words so she could think. " What does it matter if they don't think you're strong? You only have to prove it to yourself because you have your own separate definitions of success..." She echoed her father's words to her, trying to sound somewhat motivational. "Unless you make that your own personal definition..." Her sentence trails off, Shera thinking for a moment.

"Why? I tried to hurt you an hour ago....why are you helping me?" Fear questioned. "Also I'm not a demon but yes I'm source of all fear. It's my new name. My real name is Elch. And yours?" He asked as he held out a hand. He didn't want to be enemies with this man, no matter what past sins he has committed.

@Stormyface

"I'm Alagos of Syreth. Pleasure to meet you."

Alagos gripped Fear's hand and shook it.

"As for your other question, I was taught to be kind to everyone, including my enemies. Unfortunately, I seem to forget that after a few drinks."

@Nathan22

"Well we all do. I'm sorry for starting the fight. Anyhow will you help me look for my friend. I think he ran out into the woods." Fear said as he looked at the trees.

Misery had summoned his sons dead body, his red hair and eyes lifeless. He howled and cried all the while screaming "MY SON MY SON!!"

@Stormyface

Fear started to walk towards the sound. "Maybe."

He said thoughtfully.

Misery felt the chains start to burst out of his back and flail around at Miserys command. He was still howling and crying "My baby boy...he was to young to die like this....why would he do this. I trusted him! That bastard!" Soon all of his sadness turned into anger, as the chains whipped around they start to knock down the trees around him.
