Fantasy The Lost Treasure of Creation

Seeing all of this art being posted, I'm curious. What do you guys use when drawing digitally?
I'm using Medibang Paint and an old Intuos3 tablet. Medibang's like a combo of all the best options of Photoshop and SAI, and it's free, and so far I really like it.

@Rin Nyx

Thanks ^^ It's been so long since I've done any digital art aside from throwing graphics together, but practice makes perfect right?

Finally home and not on mobile! (Oh, and my phone autocorrected my last post weird, I use an Intuos tablet, not whatever the heck my phone changed it to ._. ) But yeah, it sounds like we use similar things. I'm only just starting out doing digital art, really, so I haven't really explored other programs much, yet ^^''

A lot of people I know use SAI, which is an awesome program. My only complaint is there's no circle tool, which kinda makes drawing up the bones of a sketch a bit annoying. But it has this neat stabilizer feature that's great for people like myself with shaky hands.

Actually, if you're looking to make a comic out of this, you might want to look at Medibang. It was made with manga/comic designers in mind, so there's all kinds of tools for formatting pages appropriately, as well as several preset standard paper sizes like A4, etc. It also has a snap tool, which basically creates an outline that you can trace and your brush will automatically snap to the points, sorta like the pen tool in Photoshop. It also has a pen stabilizer kind of function, but it's not quite as good as SAI's, Also, MB is free and SAI is not, which is important for a poor kid like me xD Oh, and it autosaves like crazy, so if your comp crashes or something, no need to panic! I can't remember if SAI autosaves, but I know Photoshop doesn't (poo).

Sounds like a cool program! I'll have to check it out :)

I just had a terrible thought and now I have to share it with you all. Vanathell wears a kilt the true way. Let that sink in for a second.

@Rin Nyx

So I wound up having a question. Now obviously really old characters, such as Eihrodeign, have been allowed. My question, however, had to do with dragon forms.

All dragons have their dragons forms, and the way I was imagining it originally is most forms range anywhere from six feet to the size of a house in height, roughly, and has to do with their elemental type and the body of said dragon. This is how I figured hight for the first hundred or so years.

That said, lizards and other reptiles tend to grow indefinitely throughout their lives. Would that hold true still?

What do the heights tend to sit at anyway?

No. That's... Why did you have to point that out?

Great question! I've actually been trying to figure that out, myself ^^''

The way I figure it, when dragons are children, their dragon forms are smaller, like around an adult kimono dragon size for really young kids, and growing into at least horse size as they get through the first decade or so. Once they hit puberty, however, they tend to have a bit of a growth spurt. Now, a lot of the sizing has to do with the shape of a dragon, too. For example, a water dragon that looks more sleek and even eel-like might only get to be as tall as a horse, but it would certainly grow in length to be a sizable opponent, etc. However, a particularly mountainous dragon may grow to be even larger than the size of a house, though I think that would be more rare.

So, basically as you said, it would vary with the element and body of the dragon for sizing. However, while dragons can get very large, their growth tapers off to nearly a standstill after a bit. Basically, after puberty, a dragon is pretty much at the size it will be for the rest of its life, though it may grow a centimeter or an inch every century or so, it's a bit more common for the size to stay pretty static. A dragon might gain other advantages as it grows older, however -- many dragons gain rougher scales that are harder to pierce as they get older, etc.

So for a naturally large fellow such as Eihrodeign how large would you say his Ice Dragon form is in height?

Well, he definitely has the genetics that he could be one of the few who grow larger than house-size for sure, but the human and dragon forms aren't always proportionate size differences, and he's also an ice dragon, which is a subset of water...though ice can really go whichever way, physically speaking... *checks your character's dragon pic*

Ok, he looks like he could be pretty large. So, probably at least close to house size. If you want him to be larger, he certainly could be, it seems he'd have the genes for it for certain.

For reference, Geir, being a fire dragon from a mountainous region, would be just about the size of a medium to large house at the top of his head (these measurements aren't including wings, by the way), and I'd imagine that Eirho would be larger than him. What do you think?

Actually, Geir might be closer in size to a regular sized house, since really his wings account for a lot of his size... So just a bit smaller than I mentioned. But yeah, Eirho would likely be larger, in any case (unless you wanted his dragon form to be smaller for some reason, that's really up to you ^^)

That sounds good to me. I just wanted to get a feel for it before I ever had him swap forms or something, you know?

So Eihro, despite being an ice dragon, is about the size of a large house then, if not a shed or so bigger. I now know what to work with, so if I ever have him swap forms that'll be good.

Edit: Now that I've seen that second post, a medium house if not a shed or so bigger xD

They probably won't be able to swap forms in the confines of the mines, anyway, so it helps to keep Geir from trying to eat random elf princes ;P

Also, I figured I'd wait on Ninja and Violet to catch up before continuing things, so that they don't get left behind. Figure I'll just have Lani mention that she's 'small like this' and panicked or somesuch.

That is always a good thing too xD

I looked at Ninja God's character more closely since i had time to reas everyone's character sheets and saw an image of his staff. My mind immediately went to this singular thought...

@Ninja God

Are you Jafar?

Who are we waiting on to reply in the temple? It's been pretty stagnant over there. (It's fine, take your time)

I also think weepingangel is waiting for @Kuro Kitsune , if we're talking generally for the temple area ^^
