The Inn at the Edge of the World (OOC)

Oh aye. I was going to make it more of an issue when you started running out of food. I only bring it up, 'cause if you take the month long route to Strassenburg, and run into some difficulties that slows you up or loses you some supplies, you might start starving to death.

These facts seem to deter against Strassenburg (death/mutilation/starvation). While reputation (or perhaps pride IC?) would keep one from New Hope, the company is just starting out. This does have the benefit of a relatively "clean slate" when dealing with the Inquisition and the like, rather than down the line when it may become more... "sullied". Another reason for consideration is that it does, all things going well, keep half the supplies should a rapid exit be required. While guard duty might not be exciting, it may be a stable income to begin to build up a war chest, whilst learning the lay of the land politically. And in the Frontier, times of stability are usually far between.

That being said, I think everyone is willing to avoid recent plague towns for the immediate time. Perhaps after some guard duty for a month or so (if that is indeed what it is), moving on to other lands is always a possibility.

Play it safe in New Hope, and make a reputation by creating a successful caravan through the Hellsteeth in the future :P

True, that's a steady and sound way to do things. Plus with us just starting out we don't have a lot of cushion in case something truly horrific decides to cross our path in the mountains.

I think the logistics person has it right here, as loathe as I am to admit. Once we have some surplus capital we can think about moving on to more profitable (and probably risky) ventures.

I'd say New Hope first.

Inquisition might be pests,-well armed pests at that - and they'll poke and prod the newbies, but they're better than any gribblies we'll come across in the mountains.

Get our better supplies then head for Hell's Teeth and Strassenburg if this no longer proves productive or if the Church is getting under our nose too much.

If you plot it as a triangle for approximations, then it is five weeks between Crowhaven and Strassenburg, taking the presumed long route, but only three and a half if a similar short cut exist. That puts New Hope somewhere in the region of two and a half weeks from Strassenburg, and week and half from Crowhaven.

New Hope: directly southeast of your current location

(Two Weeks, Moderate Danger)

Crowhaven: directly south of your current location

(Three Weeks, Low Danger)

Strassenburg: directly east of your current location

crossing the Hellsteeth Mountains (Two Weeks, Highly Dangerous)

going around (One Month, Moderate Danger)

Alrighty you've convinced Lyke. She'll support the New Hope destination with promise that it's not permanent.

Provided we don't have some sort of physical obstacle in our path.

Also, does anyone IC that Lyke is missing her tongue or are they assuming she's just mute mute?

Abram might have an inkling since she's so careful to never open her mouth if she can help it. Then again he's usually more focused on how to survive and make money, so he'd only think about it if his thoughts start to wander.

Abram could honestly care less. He might offer to teach her some letters while they're traveling just to make communication easier but that'd be the extent of his curiosity. As long as you're skilled and not looking to stab him in the back Abram could care less about anyone's sordid past.

She's not talking about her past ;)

That should remain a secret mostly but it plays in to her slight anxiety about the rigid adherences of the church.

I was gonna wait for everybody to make a vote first really, or at least allow @Grey some input, considering he's technically the party leader.

Did I not post for the night not long ago? I thought we were waiting on Silver to move time forward?

Oh, I see I somehow missed the alerts for the last few posts.

Fuck's sake.

I'll have something up soon - thanks for the tag, Kahzy.

I think that definitively solves our issue. @Grey, just so you know, I think we decided a lot of our debating could be done in the OOC so we don't clutter up the main story with too much chatter. No harm done here but just for future reference.

Also I think we're all decided on New Hope for the immediate future. Where do we go from here GM? @Silvertongued Because according to my math we have 3 players that have the same Survival level of 3, and I'm not sure how you want to split the die rolls considering that fact.

You choose whichever one of you to be the person in front, and they roll. You can add other folks to supplement the roll, but each of those is a person who can't join a scouting party.

Like, Secondary Survivalist(s) roll a combined 3 successes. Primary Survivalist rolls their Intuition/Intellect + 3 extra dice.

Scouting works the same way.
