Humanity had soon discovered Faster Then Light travel and expanded throughout the solar system, their first destination was Mars, where they found remnants of ancient advanced human civilizations, which led to advance technologies. These advances led to terraforming which allowed humanity to colonize every planetoid in the solar system, even earth's moon. They even developed Quantum Gate technology, which virtually outdated FTL drives, these quantum gates allowed instantaneous travel to the far reach of the milky way. This mass expansion led to discovering alien life throughout the galaxy, most welcomed humanity as a space faring culture, others however took it as an act of aggression. For 10 generations humanity tried to survive, struggling in conflict with aliens that wanted to eradicate humanity. Or at least that's what the United Earth Federation chose to have written in the history books. But in reality the UEF had eradicated almost every alien species that posed a threat to humanity, barricading earth solar system from all, only allowing access through the quantum gates.
The men and women who chose peace over xebophobia settled with the aliens on their planets and countless others. As the generations progressed no one was able to break through the UEF blockade of earth solar system. Many colonies tried, with help of their alien allies, but none succeeded, any that made it into the system, never made it out, no one knows why. However almost no one knew of Humanity's true home. That secret was left in the ruins of Atlantis, on earth.
(I will allow multiple characters as well as multiple people being on one ship)
