H
oney was actually excited. Ever since Halloween she's made time to see Maj. He's made her feel butterflies in her stomach and she's not sure if it's good or bad. She doesn't want to think about that right now.

Luckily she had her best friend, Diamonds, number on speed dial. She was overthinking. Who overthinks when is just the movies? Me. It's me. Fuck.

Once she settled on an outfit or was time for her to stay heading there. Maj was trying to pick her up, he always did, but she was hesitant and always said she would just meet him there. Too many bad dates and bad situations occurred to where she is skeptical. It's not that she doesn't want him to... maybe in the future... if he keeps her attention on him.

Since he paid for the movies I can pay for the snacks and stuff. I think that would be fair..yeah!

Little did she know her paying for snacks would not even be close to what he spent. Once she parked she made sure to check in her mirror one more time before leaving the car. She noticed not too many cars were in the theater parking lot. Maybe it was a slow day?

When she saw him she felt her chest tighten and her face warm up. She wasn't going to let her nerves stop her from wrapping her arms around his neck for a hug. "It's good to see you!" Honey said, his scent filling up her senses in a calming way.

"Get in just a bit closer. You guys look great together!" The photographer spoke and continued to snap shot after shot. Echoing what she'd been reading for the past few weeks every time she opened her phone. The internal groan each time only intensified.

It felt like they'd been at this forever even though it had actually just been a couple hours. Nyla was positioned as if she was cuddled up working on a photoshoot promoting Tobi's music video she starred in. If it had been anyone else, she'd have said hell no. She's not trying to be in the public eye for anything other than hoopin, but it was Tobi and she always had a soft spot for her homies who she knew would do anything for her too. Which sadly includes helping with promotion for his music career.

The problem? Well other than her not wanting to be in all this caked up make-up. Nope it was the fact it wasn't just them there. Annie was here too, just…watching. It felt weird to be poised like this with Tobi, but work is work, so it's not a big deal. However not all girls see it that way and she was praying Annie would be cool about it all without letting all the stupid rumor mill and internet gossip get to her head. She liked what she'd seen so far of Annie, but you never know until times like these.

"Can we take a break?" She finally spoke up, "I'm hungry." She turned to Tobi with a grin, " And you promised the good stuff." She joked playfully hitting his arm.

Kalila Emerson

Kalila had just gotten done with her presentation for her Major in music. The professor had been strict with everyone everyday and she was beginning to feel it since the A's were getting smaller and smaller. When he told her that he had no notes it was a bittersweet moment for her. Part of it was she did well enough to earn all the marks and the other part was sad there wasn't anything to learn from it.

Kalila remembered that today she would be meeting Sebastian's friend. She was excited to meet someone from his circle that knew him. Knowing it was a girl at first sent red flags, but she felt like she could trust him. What's the worst that could happen? Actually a lot, let me not speak that into existence she thought as she headed back to her place.

Texting Sebastian back and forth she felt like a smile had been super glued on. She made sure that she had just enough time to get ready AND do her hair. Once she was ready she practically stood in the mirror the whole time fixing the curls in the front. It was a little cold out so she didn't want to wear anything to crazy, a navy blue off the shoulder, with dark jeans, and black heels. Simple enough especially considering she only had 1 meltdown about how it looked like she was playing in her mother's closet. Now that she'd calm down she was ready.

Kalila wondered what the girl was like and if they'd get along. She was hopeful, since she needed new friends. It wasn't until Sebastian texted her he was there, stopping her music from the notification that her stomach twisted again.

She hurriedly grabbed her purse and left out the door. She was happy to see him, she wanted to see him- she missed him. "Mr.Stone.. I hope you didn't wait too long" she chuckled while his figure came into view as she walked towards him, her hips swaying with each step.

Sebastian leaned in, his voice dropping just slightly, warm and low. “You know,” he said, eyes steady on hers, “you’re making it really hard to remember what I was nervous about.”

Then, without another word, he leaned down and kissed her—slow, sure, and unhurried. The kind of kiss that didn’t need to prove anything, just felt like something real. His hand found her waist for a second, fingers grazing the fabric of her top like it was second nature. When he pulled back, there was a softness in his eyes that hadn’t been there before. “Mm,” he murmured, his lips brushing just barely against hers before he pulled back completely, “yeah... definitely should’ve planned to be late.” He looked at her, then tilted his head a little, that slow grin returning.

“You nervous about meeting Jo?” He asked it casually, but there was something sincere under the surface. His thumb lightly brushed her hand without even thinking about it. “She’s a real one. You’ll see. Just be yourself, and she won’t stand a chance.”
He gave her that slight smirk again, then glanced toward the car, pulling the door open.

“Come on, beautiful…” he said, stepping aside with a little nod toward the passenger seat, his voice low and smooth, “…before I change my mind and keep you all to myself tonight.”

And even as he moved around to his side of the car, he couldn’t help that glance he threw back at her—like she had him caught up, and he wasn’t even mad about it.

"You, nervous? I'm here now, there's nothing to be nervous about" Kalila chuckled as he pulled her close to him. Her breath got caught in her throat as his lips were soft on hers. It wasn't anything quick, it was sensual in all the right ways. It made her body feel flushed.

Kalila couldn't help, but smile as he pulled away. "I guess that's my fault you couldn't come earlier, I'll make up for it" Kalila said in a velvety tone as she gently squeezed his biceps. She quickly shook her head at his question of if she was nervous. "I get to know more about you and maybe make a new friend. I'm not nervous"

When he opened the door she laughed while getting in. "You're going to change your mind later, if you keep up those compliments, Sebastian" Kalila exclaimed as she strapped in to the car.

As they were driving to the location her hand was placed ontop of his thigh in a teasing manner. She was acting innocent as her actions were doing the opposite while the music played in the car.

Johari leaned closer to the mirror to examine her appearance and find something, anything, to fuss over: stray hair, a piece of lint on her jacket, a smudge of lipstick on her teeth. Anything that would buy her a few more precious seconds before she walked out the door. Very few things could make her this nervous, but meeting your fiance's girlfriend would likely make anyone on edge — even a Turner.

After much deliberation, Johari and Sebastian concluded that it was for the best that they met. Still, even logic didn't help bubble the anxiety in her stomach. It'd been set upon her by their families' web of arrangements, negotiations and obsession with social status and appearances.

In a nutshell, being in an arranged marriage isn't all that fun. It's nothing against Sebastian, of course. He's a kind, driven and smart man that she's known all her life. But that didn't make the prospect of marrying him someday ideal, especially given that she had to meet his partner today.

Though the logical parts of her brain knew the arrangement had been set in motion before she'd even entered high school, she still felt guilt stirring in her that she could be the reason Sebastian's relationship may fall apart. But those thoughts are ones best mulled over later at night with a glass of wine in one hand and a pen in the other. Not less than an hour before she was supposed to meet for brunch.

"Now or never, Jo," she says to her reflection. She heads for the door, giving Chester a few scratches behind his ear before she leaves. His response is a lazy purr as he stretches out on the arm of the couch as she leaves.

--

Jo and her mother hardly got along, as anyone could tell you. But Jo did find herself always sticking to one of the lessons her mother was particularly insisent about. Early is on time, On time is late, and late is a bridge burned.

Johari arrives at the restaurant about half an hour before the agreed time. She orders three glasses of water and some champagne for herself. She doesn't mind the wait. The quiet gives her more time to settle her thoughts and catch up on the latest headlines on her phone.

Even so, she finds herself glancing up at the door more frequently than necessary so she knows when to stand to greet them. As anxious as she was, the least she could do was still make a good impression.

Genesis didn't really have anything going on this weekend. Sure she went to the game to support Shai, but she honestly wasn't into sports that much so she spent most of the game lost, and only cheering when everyone else cheered, or when she saw him on the field. The drive up and back had been long, but the solace was needed to recharge her social battery a bit. She didn't get to see him much being he was with his team most of the time, but she didn't wanna complain. She thought about trying to see him today, but figured he'd be tired, and want to rest. She settled for texting, that way if he responded great, but if he didn't she understood.

She decided to go out for a short walk to grab a snack when she passed by an area where people liked to skate, and noticed a familiar face chilling in the distance. She got her bagel sandwich snack before making her way over to see how he was doing. Elijah and her have had a few classes together due to the similar majors, so she knew his general vibe. She smiled and waved at him to get his attention. She knew he probably wouldn't just notice her otherwise because another farmiliar scent came with the closing distance. Now any sort of bud wan't usually her poison of choice, but originally she was steering clear of any substance that could get her high. Recently she tried drinking and that wasn't bad, so maybe a lil second hand contact high would be just fine too? It's not like she was going to take a hit. The odds of him having anything else on him she felt was slim enough to not have to worry about temptation.

"Hey! Long time no see." She chimed with a soft smile gracing her lips. Plus people always told her to be more social, so here she was...being social. Perhaps a little chill vibe is just what the doctor ordered before she looses her mind over mid-term testing anxiety.

Maggie was pissed. Not at anyone in particular outside of her own family...but honestly that was nothing new. Just like always they were meddling in her life because she wasn't following the path they laid out for her. Her rebel teenager "phase" was supposed to run it's course and once she went to university she was supposed to start getting her life together, not have a baby out of wedlock. Nope that wasn't the plan, but to be fair that wasn't her plan either. She didn't want any kids, she knew she wouldn't be a good mom, she was simply too selfish. She still wanted to have fun, and for a pretty little while she still could because the baby's "father" stepped up and took majority custody of the little girl. Maggie of course still visited, but he was the main parent, and that set up was perfect for her. Too bad it wasn't for her family. They felt like she surely had to get knocked up by someone better then that.

For once they were right, go figure. Things always have a way of catching up to you and she supposed it was time to collect for that wild freshman spring break trip. You see, she had actually linked up with Remi during that period. Which she didn't feel guilty about at the time since he was single. However it was just supposed to be a fling. He was the type of guy that wanted a family, and Maggie didn't want that. She still didn't but here she is. She was going to tell him there was a possibility he could be the dad, but then she found out he was dating someone. Turned out the other guy was just as excited, so she just went with what was easier. Then she heard new of him getting engaged and definitely was going to take it to the grave. Too bad her family didn't agree.

After enough snooping they found out it was a possibility, tipped off the guys family, and they got a paternity test. Next thing she knew on her weekend trip to New York to visit the baby she was flying back home with her. Now it was damage control time. She knew she didn't have much time before the media would catch wind of this, and she needed him to find out from her, not the world. He was going to be pissed regardless, but it'd give her some selfish comfort knowing she tried. Which is all she's ever done, is try to do right by the people around her...she just sucks at it.

So she sent him a vague but urgent message telling him to meet up with him before he boarded the busses after the game, and before she loses her nerve. She figured she shouldn't bring an infant to a football game, so she bribed her brother to watch her for the weekend so she could tell Remi the truth. Instead she stood here in the meeting spot holding in her hand an invitation to the little girl's 1st birthday party that she was now responsible for planning. Yay for full custody. Remi was going to kill her...

Kinni listened to her friend speak, smiling as she did. She loved Stella to death and there was no one else she'd rather have in her world. They were so close and so in tuned that she knew that in another universe, they could have been mortal enemies too. She took a deep breath as they both continued to get ready. Kinni was not looking forward to cheerleading the game coming up because it was also interfering with a fashion stuff she had to get together.

She took a deep breath trying to let the thought go before she blinked a few times, "Hey Stella, you seeing the internet?" she asked looking at the pictures that had been posted of her with Dee. Obviously Kinni knew about the situation, both of them, but she was also aware that these pictures of her could cause some problems.

So she moved over to Stella and held her phone out,"So.....what are we going to do about this?"

Majid Al Khalifa

Halloween had led to something with Honey that he wasn't expecting when he walked into that costume party. He wasn't the most outgoing guy, though he could be really smooth. Still, going into a party and getting a girl's number and her attention wasn't what was normally on the menu for him. He was happy, though, because she was gorgeous and fun to be around.....but he still hadn't necessarily told her about himself. Yeah he mentioned things like where he was from (Kingdom of Bahrain) and how he got to America, but he never told her that he wasn't just from Bahrain but he was apart of royalty. He had learned his lesson in telling women because there came lots of expectations and/or fears. Some tried to use him, some were afraid of the pressure or what dating him meant.

So he would keep it to himself until he thought the time was right. He might hide his lineage, but Majid was still out of touch when it came to money. So he had a different idea for a nice casual movie night. Maj rented the entire movie theatre out. Not just ONE screen, the entire theatre. He figured it'd give them time alone and they wouldn't have to feel bad about if they started to talk. So he made sure to get dressed and instead of wearing his contacts he'd wear his glasses. For some reason he just felt like he seemed more approachable when he did. He put on one of his best smelling colognes, which actually wasn't one of the most expensive, and he moved outside where he was met by one of his security detail.

They were the one part of the situation that made it hard to hide, but they usually were good sports when he asked for them to be at a distance and blend in. They actually loved when he did things like this though, because it made it easier to keep eyes on him. They moved to the theatre where he got out and waited on her as the security coordinate with the movie staff to get uniforms and what not so they could hide in plain sight.

When Honey arrived he smiled and returned her hugs with his arms around her waist, and the small of her back,"Kunt takhudh ‘anfasi Ba’eedan, I'm glad you made it safely." He pulled away from her to lead her to the theatre to open the door up for her,"So they bring food to our seats, but we can grab a snack first if you want? " the place was empty so outside of the sound of the arcade and the clinks of the machines, there was an almost eerie silence.

oney like the feeling of his hands around her. She felt safe and secure. "Well of course I got here safely, I wanted to see you" she admitted bluntly. Of course there was a part of her that was embarrased, but also she didn't like to waste time. If she didn't like him and wasn't interested she wouldn't be there right now.

Honey raised her eyebrows when he said they bring the food out. This place must have been expensive. "You're going to laugh at me" she said sheepishly. "But it's fine. I love raisnets, alright? An old grandma candy. Go ahead- laugh it away. I'll allow it" She told him. "If you do want anything I can grab it. I feel like you've done a lot. So if you want candy or something I can get it. I won't take no for an answer either" Honey exclaimed as her hand found his, leading him to the counter.

Men leave me all the time. If he doesn't like how I act then I better just enjoy my time now before the butterflies wear off. It's like what Diamond said, "If he doesn't catch the vibe he can kick rocks"

After they got everything they needed it was time for the movie. The seats were cushioned and reclined. The room wasn't messy at all and the dividers did go up. The only thing she caught on was they were the only ones. "It seems really empty today? I wonder if we got lucky and have this place all to ourselves" she said jokingly, not knowing that was the reality. Before entering the theater room she saw the title of the movie, not remember the name for more than 2 seconds because she was nervous, but knowing it was a comedy so just that thought alone helped her to relax.

Diamond's life was going surprisingly well. Yes the sting of losing her boyfriend still hurt, but outside of that classes where good, her friendships were good, and she'd just met a new guy who seemed interested in her. She wasn't sure she wanted to date anyone right now with everything being so fresh, but being wanted feels good. Especially when that person makes double dating with your best friend possible due to them being best friends. Speaking of which, she took out her phone and sent a quick text to Honey checking up on her because when they spoke earlier she was stressin about her date.

Texting Honey honestly made her feel like something was missing between her and Jordan. He was cute, respectful, fun to be around...so what was wrong? She didn't feel the same nerves Honey seemed to be feeling. Maybe she shouldn't be comparing the two, but she couldn't help it. The spark she could see between her and Majid was different then what she felt between her and Jordan. She convinced herself it would grow with time, and that she just needed space to fully get over Dallas. No need to cut off a genuinely good man over something as silly as. 'I'm not as nervous as my best friend is.' right?

After sending off the text she went to her music and found the song she was working on for class. She was almost done with the choreography but there were some gaps she just couldn't quite figure out how to fill. She Bluetooth connected it to the studio speakers, and closed her eyes trying to focus. She'd been so distracted by her love life thoughts that she didn't bother to close the door. Not that it mattered, most people were at the game or the fashion showcase, not randomly roaming campus.

Dee, Jordy

Everything had been going pretty smooth in recent weeks. Her and Jordy were fine, and the exit of Dee while originally painful was made easier with the distraction of filming, and genuinely putting effort into her new relationship. Now that it was real she tried harder to be more intentional. She tried to think of things that would make him happy too. That was something she'd not done in a long time. As much as she loved Dee, that relationship was an escape which meant it was meant for her to fulfill her own desires without regret or guilt. Which was irresistible to someone who was under such pressure all the time her whole life to be a certain way. It's part of what made letting go so hard.

But she had, though it's not like Dee gave her much of a choice. She knew she'd hurt her, and she felt bad for it, but she wasn't sure she had the space to make amends. She was looking over herself smiling and giggling along with Kinni as she got ready for the game. Truly another person that made all this bearable. With everything going on it was nice that they could still just talk and be frank with one another. Which is why her brow rose in confusion when she brought up the internet.

"Huh what do you mean?" She walked over to see the images on the girl's phone and her stomach dropped. How the hell did anyone get these?! Dee wouldn't have done this, it serves no purpose. Especially if she's been moving like she knows she has and sleeping with other girls. Like clockwork her pwn phone started buzzing like no tomorrow. She didn't have to look to know exactly who it was. Her manager, her agent, her parents, and of course anyone tagging her in this shit, and wondering what's going on. "I-I...I don't know." She stumbled out.

"I mean...they are real, but these are from like months ago. I've not hung out with Dee in forever, and especially not since me and Jordy talked about being official at homecoming." However she can't exactly use that to clear her name because according to the public her and Jordy have been dating for long before Homecoming. Maybe she should just let her PR handle it. After all that's what they are paid for right? But the last thing she needed was another scandal in the middle of filming.

He slid into the driver’s seat, shutting the door with a quiet thud as Kalila settled beside him. The glow from the dashboard lights danced along her profile, catching the mischief in her eyes. He glanced her way, and despite his usual chill demeanor, his jaw flexed ever so slightly when he felt her hand rest lightly on his thigh.

She was playing with fire.
And she knew it.

He kept his eyes on the road for a second longer than necessary, his voice low and smooth as he spoke. “You know,” he started, lips curving into a slow smirk, “I was doing a pretty solid job focusing on the drive… until you pulled that move.” His right hand gripped the wheel, but his left reached over to the back of her head rest—to acknowledge the touch, without stopping it. “And for the record…” he glanced at her sideways, his eyes dropping briefly to her lips before lifting again, “you saying you’re not nervous makes me wonder if I should be.”

He let the words hang in the air with the bass of the music pulsing underneath, the tension between them thick enough to bottle. His voice dipped a little lower as he added: “'Cause you look like trouble, Kalila. The good kind.”

A beat passed before he chuckled softly, shaking his head as he turned the wheel onto a quieter street.

“And you saying you’ll make up for it?” He glanced at her again, his grin widening. “Yeah… I’ll be holding you to that.” He didn’t rush the drive. Didn’t want to. Not with her sitting next to him like that—soft, confident, and absolutely messing with his focus. Finally, with the restaurant sign glowing ahead, he parked and turned down the music, but didn’t move to open his door just yet. Instead, he looked at her, eyes searching, voice a little softer now. He parked his car and leaned back and looked in her eyes.
“You ready. Or do you need more time.” He opened his door with a knowing smile.

Elijah was mid-thought when he caught the flicker of movement out the corner of his eye. He’d been staring at a cracked patch of pavement, thinking about how the earth didn’t ask to be walked on. Something about pressure and permanence. Maybe he’d write it down later… or maybe not. He blinked, eyes lifting slowly, squinting a little at the sun, before Genesis came into focus. A familiar face. A good one. He took another lazy drag from his joint before tucking it behind his ear, out of instinct more than manners.

“Yo,” he said, like the word had to travel a long way to get to his mouth. A lazy grin followed. “Didn’t know you wandered around this side of the world.” He patted the curb next to him, inviting her to sit without really asking. Elijah had always been a little hard to read, a little distant like his soul hadn’t decided whether it wanted to stay grounded or float off somewhere. But he always made room “You good?” he asked after a beat, eyes flicking from her bagel sandwich to her face. “You look like you’ve been thinkin’… or avoiding thinking. Can’t tell which.”

There was no pressure behind the words, just curiosity, like he didn’t mind either way.

He reached into his hoodie pocket and pulled out a tiny half-melted pack of gummy worms. “Trade?” he offered, holding it out. “Bagel for a bite of possibly the worst candy in my jacket.”

Then, as if catching himself being too sincere, he leaned back on his hands and added, “Midterms are a scam anyway. Just capitalist rituals dressed in paper and Scantrons.”

"Jealousy" wasn't one of the monsters she'd ever really had to face... So why did it seem to be crawling out of the darkness to terrorize her now?

'This is fine.' She'd iterate to herself. Tobi and Nyla were friends, just good friends... But she and Tobi were also a sort of "friends" and she knew exactly what kinds of things they did together. Maybe that's why he wouldn't establish a relationship with her - there had to be someone else. Then again, if she wasn't his girlfriend, then why wouldn't he just tell her? There'd be nothing to hide...

If jealousy really were a beast, it must be a Hydra. Every time she severed one head, two more grew.

A high school flashback of the foreboding, disapproving looks from her mom and sister popped into her head while they explained that "men will go as far as you let them and take everything without a second thought to your happiness." And they complained that her "wild ways" weren't ideal. However, Annie didn't look at it that way. She just liked people and if she liked you enough, she didn't see the issue in spreading a little love. Naturally, the thought of being used didn't cross her mind until now... and that made perfect sense for why he wouldn't tell her if there was someone else.

She was always there to support him and today was no different. (Wow, she really was fulfilling the role without the title, wasn't she?) She watched from the sidelines as they posed to promote Tobi's music - their music. Annie felt like she was melting, yet on the outside she clapped and smiled. No matter how she felt, she'd done her best not to act any differently or be weird to Tobi. "Omigod - you looked amazing up there!" She beamed. "Good job, guys! Everyone's going to be talking about these too!"

All publicity was good publicity, right? Maybe that was true for them, but she knew she was bound to hear more whispers, more remarks, and receive more strange side-eyes when she was alone with him. Being on the losing end of a shipping war was not on her bingo card this year. Perhaps this was supposed to be some nudge to her to move on; maybe she was the one in the way...

She'd only faced the Hydra once before, albeit smaller and more fleeting, and still ultimately lost. She learned early on that she was no Heracles and pondered what she should do differently this time - if anything - to help her story play out in victory.

Lisa wasn't used to being a girlfriend nor having to really worry about anyone outside of her family, but here she was texting everyday and spending time with him quite often. In truth she had started to spend more time with him than she did her sister, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing because it is was her boyfriend but it was something she wasn't used to. It made her uncomfortable, not because of Jett, that was just how she was.

She was trying though and that was the thing that mattered the most. Right? Still, she was with her sister in the moment in the dressing room helping her get ready. She made sure everything was together for her to walk out to,"I'm going to grab a seat..."

Renee turned to her sister, placed her well-manicured hands on her cheeks and looked her into the eyes,"You will grab a seat...at this soccer game. You will go over their on to that rack, grab that Dubois soccer KIT with your boyfriend's number on it....and sit in the stands and cheer him on. He needs your support and I've had it all my life go...."

So that's why Lisa was currently sitting in the back of an uber on her way to the game. It was a big game, a tournament game for the conference championship. It was a big deal, and so here she was walking through the stands, before holding up her sign that said, "Wu Wu go Jett!" while she stood there in his jersey.

Kalila Emerson

"Seems like I'm always distracting you Sebastian" Kalila said teasingly as she looked at him and not the road. "You'll be fine. The only thing you should be nervous of if we become good friends" she told him, silently manifestation. She really really wanted everything to go smoothly. Kalila was then wondering if she should just go for a slight handshake later or if she should go for a full on hug.. then it dawned on her that it doesn't matter what she does. She can't make someone like her. She can only be true to herself and hope it works out in the end. That's what happened with Sebastian and now look at her, happy.

"Me? Only trouble for you" Kalila laughed as she leaned over and kissed his cheek. She didn't stop there as her lips traveled down his jawline and to his neck. She was having fun teasing him, seeing how far she could go, but she knew later it might come back to bite her in the ass.

When the tension filled drive came to an end she looked in the mirror to make sure everything looked good before shaking her head and getting out the car. "No, I'm good to go" she beamed. Her hand wrapped around his arm as they walked into the building. It smelled fantastic and it reminded her that she hasn't eaten all day. She didn't want to get nervous about her presentation, bit she won't tell him about that right now.

Seeing all the people they walked past she saw a beautiful woman dressed in black and somehow knew that was her. That was Jo.

Remember what you told yourself in the car. Just swallow the nerves!

When they finally walked up to the table Kalila had smiled and extended her arm, leaning down to give her a hug. She didn't seem like she was expecting it,but Kalila made sure it didn't bother her. "Jo, it's finally good to put a face to a name! Have you been here long?" She asked while she went to her seat..

Eswar Pandit

Eswar didn't get to have the free weekend or free time, because instead of being tied to his family and taking there money he had to work. The best time for working for him was on the weekends when he didn't have to go to class. He still tried to get some hours during days where he didn't have classes or less of them. He just needed enough to pay for things like food and eventually be able to afford to live without his sister. That means he would spend his free days working to get that space.

So there he was, at the zoo, cleaning up and making sure that everything was in place like it was meant to be. He needed to keep himself busy to make the day go by. Being a janitor at the zoo wasn't exactly the most glamorous job, but it was easy and not a lot of college students came through. It also wasn't so bad because most of his cleaning was just bulk stuff. Any sticky and gross stuff he had a hose to brush off. The only thing that got really gross sometimes was the trash and that was nothing a mask and some gloves could fix.

Which was exactly what he was doing when he heard his name. He looked up to see who it was, because no one at worked called him Essy, they all called him Pandit. So he shrugged a bit before blinking when he saw who it was.

It was the cute girl from the party the other day so he just laughed,"Nilan, yeah? Hey I'm glad to see you."

Tobi Adeyami

Life comes fast and when it doesn't it never seems to slow down. That was how it had been feeling like for the last few weeks since Tobi had competed in and won the Mr. Black and White pageant. The music video he did was still buzzing and they were going crazy over their combined talent. There were push for them to do another song and do it again, some even saying make a group, but tobi wasn't interested in that and even if he was he knew Nyla wasn't. That being said, he did want to make another song with her and be the more prominent one on the song, but was sure that he probably couldn't capture the power of the first one.

Either way, he would have fun making it and ride the wave on this first hit as long as he could. He was working hard every night on his next mixtape to try and capitalize, so it was starting to be long sleepless night and barely any time to himself, but he was glad he had Annie by his side the whole time. So of course it was nice to have her with her especially after the long hours of promo.

He smiled and listened to the direction of the photographers and Nyla, changing poses and making his model looks. They were really close, but they had them even get closer. He heard the noise from the outside - they were shipping them hard and knew if they had announced they were dating the world would eat it up.

When Nyla turned and said it was time for a break and wanted the good food, he smiled, "Yeah I had that in my rider for this photoshoot, they got the good nigerian food from that one spot catered and the caribbean food." He turned to Annie and smiled waving for ehr to come,"Come on, you hungry and I know it!"

The shadow of a smile played at the corner of her lips as he spoke, "Usually don't, but I thought I could use a change of pace for a day." she replied with a simple shrug. She decided to take him up on the offer and sat down on the curbside before taking a bite of her sandwich.

"I'm something alright." She giggled nervously. She hated saying she wasn't ok no matter how not ok she was, but therapy told her she should probably stop lying to people saying she was good when she wasn't or else 'people can't know to help' or whatever. Problem was...she didn't want people to know when to help because if felt weird needing help. She didn't want to need anyone's help on her problems because she knew people had a lot bigger problems around here then hers. She was strong enough to handle whatever came her way, and even if she wasn't she damn sure didn't wanna put that burden on anyone else. Not a stranger, not a friend, no body. She didn't even wanna tell her own brother unless it was a life or death situation.

"Both I guess." She hummed in response. He was mighty observant. It made talking easier. Maybe that and knowing not much would probably come from this talk in the long run.

"Dang I can't even trade for the best candy in the pocket?" She laughed before tearing her sandwich in half and offering up half. "You're lucky I like gummy worms." She grinned. Probably the first real laugh she'd had in days. Though his immediate switch up brought her right back to what she'd been anxious about. "Well that scam is the difference between me making something of my life or not, so here I am." She replied remembering the last conversation she'd had with her parents. It as usual hadn't gone well. They never do ever since the whole pill poppin scadal. It seemed there was almost nothing her or her brother would do to ever be in their good graces again.

"I mean other then hit the lotto with my imaginary ticket, so I can have enough money to open my own shop." Which was slim considering she doesn't play... but a girl can dream right?

Nakahi Hemi
james_rolleston.jpg
Nakahi hadn't been on a campus this big since visiting some of his hoa at uni before he left New Zealand. To some extent, it was a culture shock, but he was excited and very open to learning about all the new sights, sounds, and smells. And he was glad he chose another English-speaking country, even if some minor terms were different; less hassle that way.

Really, the hardest part about leaving was Manaia... which is why he didn't tell her. They had grown up together and even grown into friends with benefits; he could easily say she was one of his best friends. So when he'd called her later, and she'd be wondering where he'd been, he knew he'd get an ear-lashing when he mentioned he up and left to go to school in another country. He could hear her now, probably calling him a "selfish egg". However, at the end of the day, he knew she wanted the best for him and would have never discouraged his traveling. It was just easier not to deal with the confrontation face to face. Plus he didn't have to see her sad.

Nakahi didn't know if he'd stay in the US forever or go back to NZ, but he now had 3 years to figure it out. When he first arrived, he'd seen an ad for the dance team nestled among all the other extracurricular fliers and signed up. Lo and behold, the dances had turned out to be very different than the ones he was used to. He should have figured as much. Some moves he recognized from TV and social media, but others were foreign. So, while he felt he was a skilled dancer, it was a good decision for him to practice what they'd gone over as a team outside of rehearsals.

Clad in a dark t-shirt and gym shorts with his black backpack slung over a shoulder, he headed for the dance studios, hoping all of the rooms wouldn't be occupied. The faint sound of music echoed into the hall, causing him to sigh as he worried his fears were true. Each door he passed was closed and he assumed that meant they were occupied. He hiked a brow at the light shining from the door of a room a little further down; perhaps he was luckier than he thought.

He nearly entered but stopped abruptly when he saw a young woman inside. She seemed focused as her body dipped and swayed; it really was an elegant scene to behold. Watching from the doorway, he admired her performance until her dance number ended and she seemed ready to begin again.

"Kia ora!" He interrupted. "I hope I didn't startle you; didn't wanna break ya concentration... Really, you look like you should be my next teacher." He chuckled. "Your moves are hot."

Dallas

As Diamond finished off the routine she still felt like parts didn't quite fit. She looked into the mirror, her breathing unsteady, trying to pin-point the imperfections. Dance was one of the few things Diamond took seriously enough to care about how it turned out. That and track, but you can't major in running, so dance it was. She never felt like she had many skills outside of the two considering she was an average student her whole life, and spent much of her teen years partying. Not that she didn't still like a good party, but part of the reason her and Dallas broke up was because she wanted to do more than JUST party. She wanted her life to be more then all the things she was avoiding.

Before she could reach for her phone to restart the music she heard a very unfamiliar voice, and honestly her brain didn't even recognize whatever he'd said. She was spooked, but she hoped her face didn't show it. She'd really thought hardly anyone would wanna be here today, and let alone someone wanting to talk. She turned to face him brushing one of her braids behind her ear. "O-oh it's fine!" She called out. He was a stranger, but he was a cute stranger. He looked like he was here to work out as well, so she was even more confused on why he'd stopped to talk to her. Maybe he was lost? She supposed transfers could still be coming in. Or maybe he was just as surprised as her that another person would come in today to practice?

"No it's fine, I appreciate you waiting." As the words left her lips a certain level of embarrassment rose in her. Thank goodness her cheeks were already a little rosy from the exercise, but they would be bright red knowing she'd been watched that whole time. Now she wasn't embarrassed to be caught dancing, cause she danced in front of people all the time. She hated being in a professional -like setting be caught dancing an incomplete dance. Everyone at this school was so talented at whatever they did sometimes she wondered how she even got in. "That's sweet of you to say." She hummed in response to the teacher comment before smirking, "Why? You looking for a dance tutor?" She giggled shooting a playful wink. She didn't think much of it because as bad as it sounds, she assumes all male dancers are gay till proven otherwise. She'd rather be flirted with if it's not the case, then flirt and get rejected.

She picked up her towel to make sure her face wasn't sweating before walking over a bit closer, so they aren't just loudly talking form a distance, "And here I was about to ask if you could help me out." Perhaps he still could. After all some fresh eyes on the routine could see something she's too invested in to notice. Also it would make her feel less awkward about the fact he watched it already. "Assuming you aren't busy."

Nyla's eyes lit up when he mentioned what kinda food was here. Call her a big back all you like, but Nyla loves her some food over everything. In another life she'd probably be a chief or something she loved food so much. "Now that's what i like to hear," She grinned rubbing her hands together before walking off the set without even waiting to see if the photographer was done. She could hear the sigh he released, but she didn't care she needed to get her hands on something now before hangry Nyla reared it's ugly head.

She also hoped the quick switch up was a good visual for any onlookers that there is a difference between work and reality. She grinned over at Annie, "Yah girl, come on! You can't have me being the only girl fillin up they plate." She chuckled. Her phone buzzed in that moment, and it was surprisingly her sister. It's not that they never talk, but it's rare these days unless it's a reason. Apparently congratulating her on the video popularity is a reason. Somehow hearing it from her made it feel real. It made it feel like this was the reality show all over again and their was a nervous pit in her stomach growing. That was the worst few years of her life, being a part of that show with the cameras constantly in her face. She really didn't wanna go back to that.

She closed her eyes took a deep breath, and replied thank you before turning back to see Tobi and Annie. No it was gonna be ok. Tobi wasn't Danae. He wouldn't force her into anything, and when she was ready to hop off this ride, he'd let her. Fame changed people, but she had faith Tobi would still be Tobi.

GM Post

It was only a couple hour drive from Dubois to Athens, Georgia, home of the University of Georgia and yet it felt like a lifetime. The anticipation for the game had even the usual loudmouths quiet on the ride up. Everyone was getting in their zones, whatever they needed to do that. Dubois had improved every year since Moses King got there, then Remi, and then talent started to flock there. This was different though. This was the #1 team in the nation, the Georgia Bulldogs. A team a lot of the players would have gone to otherwise, including Remi. This was the team with heisman hopeful Kenneth Austin, Saruh's little brother. This was the team Dubois was a two touchdown under dog against. Yeah, they were undefeated, yeah they were in the top 15. This was still Muhammad Ali.....

The team got off the bus and walked into the visitors area into their lock room and unloaded their stuff. The quiet stuck through warmups and even when their coach gave them their pregame speech, there was an eerie calm over him. He walked out of the locker room to let the team captains speak and so Remi jumped up on one of the benches.

"Ay man, I want y'all to know they doubting us. They don't think we can beat them. They think it's been Moses and me carrying the team. That's what they saying about y'all. That y'all boys ain't puling y'all wait. They saying y'all not putting in the work in practice in the games, they saying it's just me and Mo. Y'all finna let them talk about y'all like that? WHO GIVES A DAMN if it's the Georgia Bulldogs. Y'all got way more hear than them. Just do what you pose to do, and we gone come out on top. Let the stars do the star things, you just play within yourselves. They bigger than us in the trenches, nothing we can do about that. But you know what you can do? You can play with heart. They double team Mo? Aight shai, time for you step the hell up and let me get it to you. They double team you and Mo? SOMEONE Else need to step up. I need my line just to play hard, give me 3 seconds and I'll do the rest. I don't care how much bigger than y'all they are, I KNOW you can give me 3. I can get the extra couple of seconds with me feet, just give me 3. And d-line, y'all just do what you need to do and take up a block. You ain't got to get to the running back, you ain't got to get to the QB. Levi and keem got that. JUST do what you are pose to do and we got this. Y'all got heart, them boys ain't got no heart. We got this, wolves on 3!."

The team got hyped and ran to the locker room but before they all could get out, Remi grabbed Nico by the collar and looked at him,"Ay man all that bull we be on the week ain't here today. We need you today. I need you today. Ain't no you vs me, ain't better qb. You and I are a team today. You gonna throw some passes, you gonna take som runs, I need you at your best. Show me how good you are...don't talk about it...we got this."

And they both ran out on the field together. They got the ball first and on the first play Remi ran out wide to wear Moses usually lined up and their running back was out wise with him off the line. Moses lined up to the side of Nico and then Nico Motioned the running back across the formation to beside Nico, and then once they were set for long enough, the ball was snapped. Nico faked a hand off to the back while Moses went for a wheel route, Remi ran a drag route, but somehow a linebacker ended up on Moses and Nico fired the ball in the air. Moses out jumped the safety that had come over and tried to help, before landing with the ball and taking it to the house for a 70 yard touchdown pass. And that set the tone of the game.

The game was hard fought, and the talent difference between the two was obvious at some times as Remi was sacked a couple of times almost as soon as he go tthe ball. He also had to scramble and take it for a run when there were receivers open, up he didn't have the time. It came down to three minutes left in the game with no timesout left. It was 4th and 8 on their own 45. Remi walked up to the line and called out an audible and adjusted the protection. He snapped the ball and like all day, pressure was coming up the middle, but he expected it and had started rolling out to his right almost as soon as he got the ball. He had audbile Moses to a double move corner route, but shortened the route to try and draw the safety down to help. He was hoping that since Shai was on that deep post that the safety would hesitate just enough, but it would take a while to develop. As soon as he saw the safety bite, before turning back to try and run to catch up to Shai, Remi cocked back as a linebacker grabbed his shirt. He still got the ball off, but had to put more air in it than he intended and less power on it. That made the ball come short, but Shai had hit a nice misdirection juke and come back in and jumped to catch it, the safety falling and he took it in for the score. With the extra point, they tied the game.

Georgia got the ball back and it was up to the defense to stop them to at least get it to over time. Georgia came out and Kenny ran a boot leg, and moved the protection to try and double Levi, but all it did was leave hakeem open on a risky blitz through the middle, catching the attention of the right tackle who moved to put a shoulder on Hakeem to slow him down. This allowed Levi to make a spin move on the inside and use his speed to reach out to a Kenneth Austin who was in his throwing motion. He grabbed his arm before the ball could go forward, the ball hitting the ground flying backwards as Levi completed the hit putting him on the ground. Darian had been covering a short route and saw the ball hit the ground and booked for it diving it as it popped up out of his hands. It bounced directly into Hakeem's hand who had come over to help and he stumbled into the end zone for the go ahead touchdown with 20 seconds left on the clock. The extra point was good and Remi, Moses, Nico, Shai all kneeled on the sideline resting on their helmet.

20 seconds. The defense had to stop them for 20 seconds. That's it. Georgia got the ball, a medium throw to a receiver and out of bounds. 20 yard gain, 8 seconds of the clock. Another 20 yard gain, 7 seconds off the clock. They were on the Dubois 45 with 5 seconds left. This was it, this was the last shot. Darian had one on one with their best receiver, with safety help over top. He got beat off the line but recovered enough that with the safety help the ball was thrown before it should have been to try and get it to him before the safety could get there. The receiver caught the ball with his step on Darian, broke a tackle from the safety at the 15 and got to the 10 before Darian wrapped his arms around him and drug him down at the 2 yard line, short even with the receiver stretching. That was it, that was the game. Dubois 42, Georgia 35. The sideline went crazy everyone running ont he field to hug and celebrate.

Stats.

Remi 25/35 380 Yards , 3 touchdowns passing. 90 yards rushing (not including sacks) 1 Touchdown.
Nico 4/7 123 yards, 1 passing TD
Moses 7 Catches 180 yards 2 TD
