The Good Ship (Flighter and Oit)

Todd didn't feel like the greatest guy for having to drag the three girls through this. "What choice did they have?", and variations of the same sentence have played through his mind, but choice or no choice, they were young and this was traumatic. Todd looked at the three girls and sighed.

"I know this is scary, and you have every right to worry, but..." Shit, how was he going to comfort them if he couldn't even think up a proper plan or hope speech? Todd grimaced before continuing.

"... But we have to try. And -- And we have to succeed, or else Abbessus wins. You guys could all be heroes if we can do this! And man-oh-man do I believe you guys can! Now... Now we really have to go."

Todd quickly ran over to pick up Walt's katana, then motioned for the others to follow him.

Drianne felt like tearing up a bit, over the worry. Her goal wasn't to become a hero, rather to save Chrysaorus and Escherisa. She gave a little gulp, and followed Todd along in the castle of Escherisa.

When they entered one of many halls, Drianne stopped. She pulled Airii and Todd back, while Eirii just naturally backed up to see what Drianne was caught up with. "Todd, he knows you're here!" She said suddenly, then pointed at the wall. A bit hard to notice at first, the words were painted in blood dried long ago (seemingly), and as such it had blended well with the purple wall. It read, 'This way, Todd! I'm expecting you soon.' With an arrow pointed in the same direction they were going.

Todd had quickly fastened Walter's katana to the armored belt under his coat. He was startled by what Drianne said, and seeing those words there gave him a twinge of fear to mull over and fight against. It was obviously a trap. Why else would Abbessus directly point out where he was?

"We've got no choice, you know." He told the three, as well as himself, "We're going to have to follow the arrow. At least... I can, anyway." He sighed and looked over the three of them before his eyes settled on Drianne.

"Thank you all for your help. Drianne, you should lead the others to your room and stay there until this is over. If, uh, if things look like they aren't getting better for a while, then you should leave the castle, okay?" He glanced back at the blood on the wall, staring at those words. Todd shook a little.

"You don't have to follow me anymore."

((Too the throne room!))

Drianne frowned, along with Airii and Eirii. "I may be scared to death, but I'm not going to l--"

"Drianne, let's go." Airii took Drianne and Eirii by the hand, and pulled them backwards away from Todd in the opposite direction that the sign was pointing to. "Good luck, Todd! I knew you were somethin' special when I met ya!" Airii shouted, waving with the girls' hands in hers as she gradually moved out of sight.

((Daaaanke))

Todd let himself smile a little at what Airii said. He then watched them go, hoping this would be enough to keep them safe. Drianne seemed to have wanted to protest, he had noticed, before she was dragged away by Airii and Eirii. While her bravery was admirable, Todd was glad that, in the end, the girls were all out of harm's way.

He followed the blood-arrows around the castle. He boots made the only noise the entire time. It was anxiety-inducing, really. He was sure that any other noise could make his heart stop. Still, even with all the tension dragging him down, Todd was successfully led to the throne room of the castle.

He admitted to himself that he was terrified of what may await him beyond that door. He had to keep going, though. Todd had to save the queen.

With a grunt, Todd pushed the doors open. He stepped in but didn't think to draw his sword. If he showed hostility, how would he ever get through to Chrysaorus?

Inside, Chrysaorus sat quietly in her throne room chair. She was perfectly motionless, seeming dead. Not only that, but the whole chair including her had looked as if they took a bath in blood. Chrysaorus' eyes snapped open, giving Todd an immediate look. "Before we get to the talking, will you win my audience, Todd?" The lights shut off. Chrysaorus' figure on the throne chair vanished. But something else that wasn't there had appeared, and it had appeared right infront of Todd, giving him a familiar bubbly snarl.

((Blood is creepy in media, so using it is fun. :3

Hohohohoho))

Okay, screw the "no hostility" plan. What the hell just happened? What was in front of him? The sudden darkness made Todd extremely nervous -- And rightfully so! There was a monster in front of him, it seemed. He withdrew his sword and swung at the creature immediately, letting out more of a panicky yelp than a battle cry. His grip on the handle was so tight that, if he could see his hands, he was sure his knuckles were white.

What was this thing? He couldn't tell with the lights off. He'd sniff the air for any clues as to what he was fighting, but the strong smell of blood blocked everything -- And made him dizzy.

"Todd, by all the things you've gone through, I'm happy to say that the terror this thing brings you interested me the most. I don't know if humans can face their fears. Will you show me?"

The beast narrowed it's eyes, seeing the sword perfectly even in the dark. Before the sword even hit the creature it countered with a large and furry hand which it used to smack Todd away into the wall. In the darkness of the throne room, it gave a booming roar, before moving on all fours and charging towards Todd full-on.

Todd hit the wall hard, crumpling, only a second later, to the floor. The dizziness got worse, the blood starting it and, what was most likely a concussion, amplifying it. Todd felt nauseated -- And even more so when he finally realized what that creature was. He shook as he forced himself back up, getting his sword ready again. His eyes were widened with fear.

That was his werewolf self, wasn't it? Somehow, somehow it was him. Todd snarled, anger igniting itself within that fear.

"I'm not your guinea pig!" He snarled at Abbessus, "A-and how are you doing this anyway??"

He swung at the beast again. At the werewolf. At himself. This wasn't good and it certainly wasn't right. Was it even real, or was this creature, hidden in the pitch black of the dark throne room, a trick?

Abbessus snickered. "I'm only showing you a visible and tangible version of your werewolf self, Todd. It's nothing special. Though, mimicking its abilities correctly is quite difficult..."

The beast brought it's hand down, planning to slam Todd down to disorient him further. But the sword hit, causing a wound to appear on it's hand. It whirled back, grabbing its arm, whining in pain. Then it growled down at Todd.

"You might want to do something."

Todd snarled at Abbessus. The creature was coming from that demon. From it's mind. Abbessus had control over the thing. Perhaps he needed to concentrate to keep it here? That was a bit of a stretch, but it couldn't hurt to try. Well, it'll probably hurt. It'll probably hurt a lot.

Todd took another swing at the werewolf, then, whether it hit or not, ran at Abbessus and attempted to punch the possessed Chrysaorus in the face, having followed the intense smell of blood in order to do so. This was probably an incredibly stupid plan. This will most likely end in nothing but pain.

Attempting to punch an extremely powerful being in the face? Yeah, because that always goes over well.

The werewolf backed away easily for the swing, and whirled around when it saw Todd heading for Chrysaorus. In pursuit, it chased after him, and then lept into the air, prepared to crush Todd and bite him to death.

Chrysaorus was punched out of her throne, and fell onto the floor. The lights flashed on, but the beast was still there. Ready to pounce on Todd. The bruise and crevice and Chrysaorus' face soon vanished, and she got up to smile at Todd. Only smile.

((Use Walt's swooorrdddd Toddddddd!))

((uuuse the fooorce Toooodd))

Todd had whirled around when the lights came on just in time to see the werewolf coming for him. His own sword was much to heavy to attack the thing as it was -- But then he remembered that he still had Walt's katana.

Todd knew he had one shot at this, or else he was screwed. He withdrew the katana. It felt odd in his hands, being far light than what he was used to, though he did not think about this for too long. He only had a single second to pull this off. Within a half-a-second after he took the katana out, Todd slashed upwards at the creature's neck, intending to behead him.

It creeped him out, his own attempt to behead "himself".

When the sword had hit, the head and body were separated, and the whole thing disappeared into ash. Chrysaorus got up and dusted herself off, looking over at the sword Todd used to slay it. "Where the hell..." She said, with a grimace. "You got his sword. If you hadn't picked it up, you would have been dead... ..." Chrysaorus' head dropped in thought. "..."

Todd put the katana back in his armor belt, then put his great sword away. He turned and looked at Chrysaorus. Not Abbessus, no, but at the Queen. At the being held captive within her own body. He, Abbessus - It? - Was thinking. Todd couldn't allow this. It could mean a counter attack, or more monsters.

"Chrysaorus --" He addressed the woman, "I know you're in there, somewhere. I know you can still take control! Come on, you're the queen, for godssake! Your people need you!"

Right, cheesy, Todd knew, but what else could he possible do or say?

"I know, Todd. They need me, but..." Chrysaorus finally said, but she was taken back by the pain Abbessus was causing in her head to yield. She dropped back down onto the floor, clutching her chest with bloody fingers. She felt like yielding, it was too much, and she started to tear up on the floor.

((Meh))

Todd winced, almost feeling Chrysaorus's pain as she fought this thing that has taken her over. He didn't know what to do. He had no idea how to help her. Todd approached her quietly. He got on his knees, watching her, desperation in his eyes.

"Please... Please don't give in." He whispered to her, then wrapped his arms around Chrysaorus, hugging her tightly.

"... Please..." He begged her again. She was the only one who could stop this. She was the only one who could help them find Walt, and she was the only one who could bring the kingdom back into peace. He didn't know how long he and the others were in that cave. He didn't want to know. Todd wanted to avoid knowing how long they let people suffer.

((

))
Chrysaorus sobbed and cried, even though it wasn't audible. She leaned on Todd for support, grabbed his shoulders, even though Abbessus wasn't lenient in punishing her for it. She fought back. And she was winning.

Abbessus threw an angry temper as he was casted out. In his humane form, he escaped through Chrysaorus' back, and tumbled out onto the floor. His skin-- the parts visible, were near to the color black. He had even darker hair, and his face... It was covered by a clown's mask. He wore a black suit, striped white, with a corresponding tie and regal shoes. Under the mask you could feel his glares. He would have killed them, but he didn't have the power to do so.

Chrysaorus took a few deep breaths, and fainted on Todd's shoulder. Abbessus walked over to the two, looking down on the two.

((Yes indeedy!))

Todd smiled a little when he saw that his efforts had gotten through to Chrysaorus. The smile didn't last long of course, and as he held the now-unconscious queen in his arms, he shot Abbessus a very dark glare and removed a hand from Chrysaorus's back to get a hold of his sword's handle. Looking at the demonic man-thing towering above his crouching self and Abbessus's fainted possession-victim, Todd was unnerved. He kept his poker face of fury and utter hatred for Abbessus, but he knew the creature was powerful. The clown mask didn't help. Todd utterly despised clowns.

Todd said nothing to the figure. He only glared. He didn't want to risk opening his mouth and saying something he may regret. He didn't want to empower Abbessus either, with his words. So he kept to the silent dirty look, wishing, in the back of his mind, that the thing in the suit will leave them alone for now.

Abbessus held up his own glare, before he sighed on his own and turned around. "So I was incorrect." He said, looking up at the cieling. "Further investigation is unnecessary... I am done here."

"Nice job, Todd Huntings. Maybe I won't doubt her methods anymore." Finishing his statement, he disappeared in a flash.

Chrysaorus, bloodied up from before, sat motionless in Todd's arms, unconscious.

Todd was confused by what Abbessus said. He was confused by that, and Abbessus's sudden disappearance, his retreat to... elsewhere. Todd looked down at Chrysaorus. He sighed and rubbed her back a comfortingly. After a while of that, he picked the queen up and carried her all the way back to her room, setting her down on her bed.

Todd wanted to stay with Chrysaorus until she woke up. He wanted to be by her side and make sure she was okay. He wanted to do this, but he knew he still had to find Walter, and he had to tell the girls that everything was okay now, that Abbessus was gone.

Todd ran back to Drianne's room, knocking before entering so that he wouldn't startle the girls. Perhaps with their help, they could all find Walt? Hopefully he wasn't dead again. Please, Todd thought, please let him be alive, at least...!

Chrysaorus was taken to her bed upstairs, and layed down on the bed cushioning.

Inside Drianne's room, the three girls were sitting around Drianne's working table and waiting. Despite not being able to do much, they were quite hopeful. When they heard the knock at the door, everyone but Eirii jumped. Drianne scooted out of her seat to reach the door. When she saw who it was, she hugged him around the waist (pretty much, I specified that she's pretty shooort). "You did it, didn't you?!" Drianne asked, smiling.

Airii turned around in her seat. "Todd, did you do it?"

Todd quickly raised his arms when Drianne hugged him to avoid sharing the blood on his arms with her dress. He was asked the question he expected, and he gave them all a small nod. He was still incredibly confused by Abbessus's seemingly sportsman-like defeat, and this showed a little in his expression. Not obviously, but subtly there in his facial features.

"Uh, yeah. I did it. Abbessus is gone and Queen Chrysaorus is resting in her room. It seems like everything's going to finally calm down." He informed them, then glanced nervously at the door behind him. That confusion changed to worry.

"We really, really need to find Walter, though. I'm scared of what Abbessus may have done to him. He... He never lets go of his katana. Not ever. W-we need to find him now, I won't believe he's dead until we find a body!"

Panic rose in his voice as he talked about Walter, and he gently separated himself from Drianne and opened the door again, stepping out, though not closing the door again. He looked over at the girls again.

"Maybe you guys will have a better chance figuring where he is than I do. Wanna help me go looking for my best friend?"

"Well, we would," Airii said looking towards her sister, "But we have no leads. Not even a hint. Where would we start looking?"

Drianne let Todd move out of her arms and frowned. "I might have an idea, but he might not be alive."

"Scratch that..."

Todd stared at Drianne. He didn't want to think about what she said. He didn't want to believe that Walter may be dead. This was Walter Hobbes! Like hell would he die in any sort of situation!

Well, except when Todd killed him.

But that was different! He was terrified! And he couldn't even hurt Todd when he was in wolf form! This was -- There was no way. Not a chance that Walt could be dead. Injured, maybe, but the man was a survivor! Surely he could survive... Wherever Abbessus threw him.

"We're checking there anyway." He told Drianne stiffly, still staring at her, "You're gonna have to lead us there."

He then stepped out of Drianne's way.
