The Good Ship (Flighter and Oit)

"Todd, we can't go in there either. It only opens when Chry wants it to open. And even if we were inside, we would be met with hundreds of hungry carnivorous animals..." Drianne sighed. "She's not awake, is she?"

((Blah))

Todd twitched, and then his face twisted with anger -- anger at himself for failing Walter, and utter hatred for Abbessus, because of what he's done. He angrily pounded the wall outside Drianne's room, leaving a bloody mark there and a nasty boom noise.

"God damned f*cking piece of utter shit -- !!" He started to yell, "I'd -- I'd kill Abbessus if I could, I swear, I'd do it if I could -- We're waking Chrysaorus up right goddamned now!!"

And then he bolted off to her room, his steps pounding heavily on the floor. He had become a juggernaut, a boiling pot of rage. The wolf inside had even made things worse by escalating his emotions to the point of rage-induced insanity. He was not thinking clearly -- All he wanted, more than anything, was for Walter to be alive. He didn't care what he'd have to do to ensure that this is true.

Todd slammed the doors to Chrysaorus's room open.

"Wake up!!" He shouted at her, "Wake UP!!"

Everyone jumped up when Todd banged on the wall. Drianne backed away slowly, not expecting Todd's sudden burst of anger. She watched him stomp off back to Chrysaorus' room, and then gave the two sisters a concerned look.

"What do you think happened?" Drianne asked.

"Must have been his friend. He doesn't want to see him dead." Airii answered.

Chrysaorus still lay on the bed, unconscious.

Todd roared at Chrysaorus, who's only crime was to continue resting, as she should. But to Todd, she was only mocking him! She was doing some cruel deed, ripping him apart by refusing to wake up. But she needed to! They needed to save Walter! And she won't!

With another cry of fury, Todd raised his fist, ready to strike at the Queen, to show her what she was doing, to give her the pain that she was now bringing onto him! He was going to crush her ribs. He was going to hurt her. He was going to make her feel it all -- But his fist shook. What the hell was he doing? Was he seriously about to injure a defenseless, innocent woman?

His fist still shook, but Todd lowered it as tears began to well up in his eyes. His thoughts were stuck on loop. It was hopeless. He and the girls may have saved the kingdom, but Walter was most likely gone. Again. And even if he was alive, it did no good to know where he was. They were locked out. Walt could be screaming and begging for death, suffering for how many hours he may have left, or even days, and Todd could do nothing about it. He hated feeling so useless, so helpless.

Todd sank to his knees, and, at Chrysaorus's bedside, he sobbed into his hand.

Chrysaorus was unaware of Todd standing there, with his fist raised in anger. She couldn't see him, conflicted on the act. She wasn't able to see him huddle over to the side of the bed and just cry into his hands. But, she could hear the little bits of his crying while she slept.

"...Todd...?" She murmured quietly, rolling over to the side of the bed in a half-asleep state. Her hand dangled from the end, until she could feel his head there. "...Todd, what's wrong. What's..." Chrysaorus felt drained. She was sure that she was going to sleep again.

Todd looked up, startled, tears still sliding down his cheeks and eyes still incredibly watery. Chrysaorus was awake! Well, half-awake, but awake nonetheless! Maybe they still had a shot at saving Walter?

"Y-you --" He began, but quickly corrected himself, "A-Abbessus sent Walter some place horrible, apparently... W-we can't get in, though -- O-only you can. W-we need to save him! Please, please help us save him...!"

He stood quickly, anguish on his face, eyes shimmering from his own tears. He was completely distraught by Walter's slim chances of survival. He was probably dead, yes, but they could at least find the body and give it the respect it deserves. Walter should not end up completely devoured by "drop bears".

"You mean Dungeon? ... Oh geez..." Chrysaorus moaned. "I was afraid of that. Todd, you have to take me there." She tried putting her arms on the bed and pushing herself up to stand up from the bed, but she was tired, and instead of standing on the floor she knelt down and gave an exasperated breath. "If he's alive, then great. If not, I might be able to bring him back."

Todd stared at Chrysaorus for a second, eyes wide with disbelief. Then, after shaking himself off, Todd picked the Queen up and helped her get to the dungeon, obviously with some direction needed. Todd, even from behind the door, could smell the vile stench of death. He scrunched his nose.

"Dunno how hard it's going to be to find him, but... Here you go, Chrysaorus."

Chrysaorus nodded. She waved an arm, taking off the right and complicated lock with her magic. The door flew open. "Okay. Todd, I will put a barrier around us. Walk at a moderate pace or it will break, and we will be potetially unsafe. Alright?"

((Hnn, P;))

Todd nodded to the queen and carried her down into the dungeon.

It was a hellhole. The sights were awful, but the smells? The smells nearly made Todd completely freeze in his tracks, unable to step further into this awful place. It was agonizing, the smell of rotting flesh and blood, of urine and feces and vomit, which also rotted and dissolved, becoming a part of the dungeon itself. He walked at a slow pace, only taking in short breaths when he needed to, all the while his wolf self howling and yowling as it fought against him, made his blood sing.

For until they finally found Walter, Todd was wary of the shadows he kept seeing all around. Most likely these were the dungeon's monsters. But they did find Walter and, miraculously, he was still alive -- but just barely. He was only the slightest bit conscious, his breathing ragged. He had propped himself up against a wall in a corner of the dungeon. Notable, he was tightly holding his side, which had large gashes in it. Apart from all the blood, Todd was sure he could see a broken rib poking through from where he couldn't cover with his hand (which had its knuckles broken and bleeding as well). He had bite marks and scratch marks, his clothes with disheveled and torn, and there was dried blood caked all over his forehead and over one of his eyelids, most-likely from a head-injury. Another thing caked in blood was Walter's mouth and chin. Most likely, he managed to successfully kill a monster in this place, and, for the sake of survival, had to eat it raw.

"Walt...?" Todd quietly called to his friend, who didn't respond. Todd carefully stepped closer, letting Chrysaorus down now, and reached out to touch his shoulder. This is when Walter's eyes snapped open, burning with a wild savagery, and he grabbed on tightly to Todd's wrist (as Todd had already inadvertently let Walt partly into their protective bubble). The cat-man hissed at Todd when the latter let out a panicked yelp.

"Walt, stop, it's me!' Todd tried reasoning with his friend, but Walter was not there at the moment. It was like his new cat-like mind had sent him into autopilot in its desperate attempt to keep him alive. The cat-man's eyes glowed in the darkness (much like an actual cat), which did not help Todd feel any less in danger -- in fact, it only caused him to panic more. He attempted to yank his arm away, but Walter tightened his hand. Todd winced as, with the smallest of cracklings, the bones in his wrist began to give in to the cat-man's vice-like grip.

Chrysaorus was deathly afraid of the new Walter. He seemed nice enough from when she met him, but now, he was just a mess of injury and hurt. She had cursed under her breath as Todd had reached out a hand to him, she knowing he had put them at risk and that Walter would have just taken advantage of that. She was set down, but she got right up, only to realize that Walter had gotten ahold of Todd's arm.

Acting quickly, Chrysaorus broke the remainder of the shield, and pinned Waltwr's other hand to the wall with the same goop that she used the night she saw Todd. She then went over to Todd and tried to pull his hand away from Walter's. "This is just what Dungeon does to a person. He's practically one of the animals now."

Todd shook as he backed away from Walter, still recovering from the scare his friend had given him. Walter did not reach out for him again when he was pinned to the wall. He didn't even struggle. Walter just didn't have the strength left for that sort of thing. Wheezing, he lowered his head, staring at them from under his furrowed brows.

What Chrysaorus told Todd, about what has happened to Walter, Todd refused to believe. No, his friend was still there. They couldn't just not rescue him after going through the trouble of finding him.

"H-he's not like that!" Todd growled at Chrysaorus, "He's just delirious! He lost way too much blood, and he's probably starving and dehydrated -- Y-you can't just write him off as some animal because he's hurt and confused! He's my best friend! And he deserves to get out of this dungeon!"

When he was done ranting at the queen, he quickly looked back at Walter, as the cat-man had let out a choked cough, then moaned, squeezing his eyes shut and grimacing from the relentless pain getting pounded into him with each heartbeat, each breath.

Chrysaorus still stood with a serious look. She still had a glare resting on Walter. He couldn't do much now but she was still alert.

"Fine... But mind not to get harmed." Chry released the goop on Walter's arm, and remade the shield, this time in a bigger radius. The scare gave Chry a bit of energy, but she was still drowsy. "Let's go..."

Todd nodded a bit to Chrysaorus, then, with a grunt, hoisted Walter over his shoulder. His friend did nothing, for it was at that point that Walter had finally passed out. Then, slowly and carefully, Todd took him, with Chrysaorus, out of the dungeon.

The light of the hall made Todd notice just how dirty and grimy Walter was from his time in the dungeon. The poor guy. It seemed like, with the help of his memory loss, this had become an endless nightmare for Walt. He didn't deserve such abuse, such trauma. Surely he's suffered enough.

"Where should we put him?" Todd asked, wondering if there was a medical wing in the castle, or if it was better to simply place him in a room.

Chrysaorus kept her head up, not letting herself get pulled over by Walter. It was unfortunate for him, and he didn't deserve it. But that wasn't at the top of her worries. When they exited, Chrysaorus locked the door again, and kept walking down the hall. When Todd talked about where to put Walter, Chrysaorus opened a door to her left and went inside. "In here." It was like a bedroom, but unused and barely decorated. Only the bed was dressed in something fashionable. Everything else was just either bland or nonexistent. "Put him on the bed and I'll take care of it," she said after turning the light on.

Todd nodded and put Walter down on the bed. He did not stir when Todd moved him. In fact, he didn't stir even when his breathing had worsened. He was dying. Todd looked down at the injured older man with a great sadness. No, he didn't deserve this at all. Then he saw the thick blood that had completely covered his shoulder and half of his chest. An addition to the blood Chrysaorus gave him.

Todd scrunched his nose again, hating the smell, as well as the hot and sticky feeling that the newer addition gave him. He looked back up and, even with so much more harm done to Walt, Todd noticed the scar on his throat. A pang of guilt hit Todd like a ton of bricks. Right. He did that to him.

Chrysaorus saw that Walter had took so many hits, that it was easier to find the places where his body wasn't harmed than the latter. She placed her healing magic over all the sounds and irregularities she could find, not including the scar (she found it normal and saved herself the effort of getting rid of it; she didn't have to). Using almost all of the energy she had stored, she exhaled, and leaned over on the wall opposite to the bed. "I believe I am going to faint... If this is all, then..." Chrysaorus slipped down to the ground. "Then let me rest..."

Todd was extremely happy when Walter was fully healed. Sure, he couldn't remember anything, but Walter was back. He was alive and with Todd once again. Then he saw Chrysaorus fall to the ground. He picked her up (what could carrying someone one last time hurt?), carrying her far more gracefully than he did with Walt.

"Thank you so much for your help." Todd told Chrysaorus with a sincere and wide smile. His eyes shone with his gratefulness, as well as... Admiration. And attraction.

"I'll carry you to your room. It's the least I can do. Thank you again." He then carried Chrysaorus back to her bedroom, placing her on her bed when he reached it.

"Goodnight, Chrysaorus." He said to her, then gave her a small, playful salute before ducking out.

((Super-Ship Magicaaaaal powers goooo!

//Epic transformation scene

Time skip (desu)!))

That day, Chrysaorus had taken a well-needed nap. She slept for hours, and when she woke up it was already the next day. In the morning. Near the same time she went to sleep. Did she sleep the full twenty-four hours of the day? She probably had. When she woke up in bed, she had turned and stared at the wall in her viewing range. She didn't know where to start with the day. She supposed she would start by taking a bath and getting rid of the blood on her stained everything, since she couldn't fix anything covered in blood. She rolled out of her bed, took up a spare pair of clothing similar to the ones she had only in gold, and stepped out of her room and into her bath-room.

Drianne, Airii, and Eirii had spent the day in Drianne's room. They couldn't shake off the shaky feeling they got when Todd entered and left with such a rage, but soon they got over it and had a little celebration instead. They played typical Escherisan games, and slept it off when it was time to do so.

((CRYING))

Todd had not left Walt's bedside after he had returned Chrysaorus to her room the previous day. Perhaps he'll wake up soon? He was fully healed. There was no reason for him to need any more rest. Todd continued to watch, and was not disappointed when Walter let out a small groan before drowsily waking up.

Slowly, the cat-man say himself up, looking around, confused. Then he spotted Todd. And he stared. He just stared.

"It's okay now, Walt -- Really!" Todd reassured with an excited grin, "We rescued you from the dungeon, you're safe again!"

"... 'We'..." Walter growled, confusing Todd for a second before he continued, "... She threw me into that awful area in the first place!"

"No, Walt, no..." Todd explained, "This Chrysaorus is the real one -- the one who threw you down there was Abbessus. He's a... He's... Some kind of chaotic demonic whatever." Walter snorted, but Todd quickly spoke before he could say anything.

"Look down at yourself, Walt! She healed you! Why would she do that if, like you say, she threw you down there to die?"

"... It's all a trick." Walter responded quietly. Todd sadly shook his head.

"I'll give you some time alone, buddy." He told him, a frown now on his face. He then decided to visit the girls to see how they were doing, as well as to apologize about the day before. Todd knocked on the door again before entering.

"Uh, hey. Hi guys." He greeted them quietly.

The girls were all sleeping, their heads rested on heaps of clothes that lay on the working table.

((pff))

Chrysaorus took her bath peacefully, and without interruption. She managed to get all the blood that wasn't hers off of her body as well as her hair. She rung the water out of her hair before taking a towel, drying herself, and changing into her golden-colored alternates. She'd have the old ones washed. Finished, she exited the bath-room, and headed for the room Walter was inside.

((When you're a queen with bootiful shining silver hair, you don't need to do anything to it after a wash~))

Todd saw that they were asleep, mouthed a small "oh", then turned on his heel and headed back to Walter's room.

Walter hugged his legs to his chest, and rested his chin on his knees as he sat on the bed. He noticed that his katana had been placed in the corner of the room, though he didn't bother getting up to retrieve it. Even it it was out of its sheathe.

Walter did not feel good. Though his wounds had been healed, he was still had all that blood - now dry, for the most part - all over his body. The smell was terrible, and to make matters worse, he was still starved and dehydrated. His guts were rioting on the inside, demanding nutrients. Monster meat just didn't cut it.

Maybe human flesh. You could always try that.

Walter tried, but failed to ignore the voice. While it hadn't convinced him to become a cannibal, it still greatly upset him. Why was that voice there? Was he really just nuts? Walter burrows his face in his knees, not wanting to think about it. He just had to focus on... On...

God, he was so hungry. He felt like he was eating himself from the inside out.

Chrysaorus opened the door lightly. She didn't want to seem like a complete intruder. Who knew how Walter felt about her now, since she unwillingly tossed him into Dungeon. She nearly stopped as the door was wide open to contemplate and rethink things through. But she needed to apologize, anyway. Despite what she thought of him.

"Walter, I had no control of my body." She started. She was never great at beginning apologies. "When I saw you, I was surprised, but soon I had not been able to control myself, and I had led you into a room to kill someone, which wasn't my intent at all. You arrived at such odd circumstances... With no memory besides your name. I knew you were related to Todd, somehow." Chrysaorus stepped in and closed the door. She was caught on what to say next. "... So yes, leaving you in Dungeon was not my decision, but I understand that it has took its rolls on you. If you would forgive me? ...But I understand of there's still doubts..."

When Walter saw Chrysaorus enter his room, his body reacted accordingly, scooting away from her in fear, while his expression held nothing but rage. He stared at the woman with slit eyes, and, from his ripped clothing, one could see the newly acquired hair on his arms stand on end.

"Of course I doubt you! Whah -- Why wouldn't I after all you did to me??" He snarled at her, "A-and now you're trying to convince me it wasn't you -- How dare you!!"

"It's true, Walt." Todd suddenly said, catching the older man off guard, "It's all true, everything she said." If Walter could back away any more, he would.

"And why are you working with her??" He suddenly snapped at Todd, who answered quickly, almost cutting Walter off in doing so.

"She's not who threw you in the dungeon, that was Abbessus! Please just listen to us, Walt!"

Walter sat there, staring at the both of them. Todd noticed how utterly broken the man looked. This was not the same Walter he met in Concordia. That one was confident and positive, but this Walter... He was just terrified, and he was lashing out because of it. He was paranoid because of what Abbessus did to him, no doubt.

"Just shut up!!" Walter suddenly screamed, making Todd jump.

"I-I, er, wh-what --" He tried to reply, but Walter was quick to explain.

"N-no, not you... It wasn't you."

"... What...?" Chrysaorus knew the dialogue would go something like that, as Todd had entered, but the last thing Walter said caught her off guard. She didn't know what he meant, or what he was referencing to. Did he mean her? Or Todd, with something he said? She gave a small frown and put a hand supported by another hand on the side of her face.

"Could you clarify... Just a tidbit on what you meant...?" She asked, slowly. If this didn't work she'd just have to skip apologizing and go have some food prepared...
