The Forgotten Princess(Closed)

Ksenia was put in a prison wagon and taken to the castle. As she was dragged to the dungeon. She jumped her chains and knocked the two Knights heads together knocking them out. "Idiots." She said. She grabbed the keys and unlocked herself.


Ksenia looked through the dungeon, she found the girl in the cell."Hey you okay?" She asked her. The girl nods with what seemed to be a smirk. Ksenia ignored it. She opened the door."come on we have to get out of here." Ksenia said. She started walking down the hall. Something was feeling off about this. She ran down the halls silently and stopped as knight's surrounded her."We knew they send a rescue. Not a girl though and one that is actually the princess. I mean look at the gaze. How you hold yourself. Now this is interesting. Or are you just a hottie gypsie. This girl is my daughter, we figured we get the Knight,but this is better. Grab her and lets move her to see the king in the court yard." They grabbed. Her and dragged her to the courtyard pushing her to her knees. She had a sword at her neck."Sir we found the real one." They bow to the king.

Dominic knew there was something wrong when Ksenia hadn't gotten the Princess out yet. He quickly took out a guard, and switched him clothing, it was a little small, but it would do for now. He walked in the castle, careful not to bring any attention to himself, no one questioned him, and he was fine with that. That's when he heard it. "Sir, we found the real one."


Dominic knew it was Ksenia, it all made sense. Dominic looked around for something to think of or do, and got the idea. He burst into the room, and acted frantic.


"Sir, attackers..at the wall!" Dominic acted like he was out of breath, and had just ran all the way here from it. Ksenia was shoved into his arms.


"Get her under lock and key, but if she escapes, it's your life!"


Everyone then exited. Dominic took off his helmet, showing it was him.


 
(Oh, by the way, I made the play! Only downside is I will be more busy later in the day.)

Ksenia glared at this new guard holding her. She was not happy about this. She struggles, when she saw it was Dominic. She kissed him on the lips and then smacked his arm."I had it,can't believe you followed me. Though thank you for that,because that was a trap for you. Also what the hell did they mean. I am the real one. Are you holding something back." She asked him.


Ksenia looked around him to make sure no one was coming back. She pulled Dominic along to an alcove and moved him inside. Her body was pressed against his her head inches from his. She started to whisper."now tell me what is going on." She said. She kept herself pressed to him gently."also you shouldn't have come with your shoulder. I was trying to protect you."she whispered

"I told you I think I know who your parents are. You didn't want to know, so I didn't tell you, and the more stuff happened the more I doubted, especially when this kingdom said they had the princess."


Dominic paused and looked out around them, then straight into her eyes.


"I think your the princess. That's what they were talking about. And regarding me not following you? You can't possibly expect me not to...can you? It's not that I didn't trust you, but, I just couldn't deal with myself if you had got caught, and couldn't escape."


Dominic pointedly didn't mention his shoulder, he was using a lot of his energy to not cringe from the pain, it took all of his power to remain even faced and not in tremendous pain. Dominic raised his good arm to brush a stray hair out of her face.


"We should probably head back" Dominic said in a low soft whisper.
 
She looked at him."Your playing a trick. Or your all mad." She hissed in a whisper."I am not nobility. Besides even if, I were I wouldn't want it. I don't want a royal life. i don't want to be that girl,who is pampered and made to wear dresses. I like. You and if this is true, I never see you, or rarely." She whispered. The lump in her throat was rising as she stood there trapped in and alcove with him. She peaked out when he told her they should go. She nods."all clear let's go." She said. She blushed at him putting a loose strand if hair out of her face. They made there way silently to the wall. She helped him up,then nimbly jumped over herself. They fell to the other side rolling to the ground. He wound up on top if her. Her face was to his and she was breathing heavily."Hi."she said with a small smile. She had twigs and leaves in her hair the clip holding her hair had come out. Her dagger was still in her boot. Her black hair flowed behind her. She watched him "you okay "she asked. She finally noticed there closeness. She didn't say anything.

Dominic shook his head, of course Ksenia wouldn't believe him. They quickly snuck out, and made it outside the wall. When they rolled to a stop, somehow Dominic ended up on top. He laughed at her comment.


"Hello to you."


He slowly got up, wether she wanted it or not, she was the princess, and they still had to get out of there. He helped her up with his good arm, no longer able to keep the pain not showing, he hung his arm limply at his side. He grabbed her hand and gestured with his head towards the others, they had to leave, now. He could hear the shouts behind them, the guards were coming.
 
Ksenia got up laughed. She took his hand. She looked behind her and grabbed his hand."Move,follow me." Ksenia knew the woods well. She made her way towards a river. She looked at him."lets go in the water." She said. She pulled him along and jumped in the river. She swam to the surface and swam for the caves. She pulled him along. She pulled herself into the caves and breathed."only way I could hide from you guys."she said and coughed up water. She sighed and laid back on the rocks soaked.


Ksenia looked over at him. She pulled him further into the dry part of the caves. She took his armor off and started a fire with the wood she found. Her and the caravan had hidden here many times. They abandoned it long ago. Once the fire was going she took off her bag and his wet clothes. She covered him with animal skin blankets that they had left behind. The caves were well stocked. She found dry herbs and heated up some water in a black pot. She went to work on his shoulder quickly. She could tell he was out of it. She gently caressed his face."shhh fever has set in. Don't worry I am here." Ksenia said. She helped him drink a tea slash remedie she made. It would put him under and break his fever as well as his infection. Well that and the medicine she used.


For the next 3 days she treated him, the infection leaving his body along with the fever. She had gone out hunting, and heated up skins. She also used cool cloths on his forehead. She finally slept only when his fever broke. She would not sleep before then he would groan out and Ksenia have to quiet him so they were not caught. She sat up when she heard movement from where he was laying."Dominic?" She whispered gently.

Dominic didn't know what had happened. He just remembered water and the pain, the soft gentle touches...and the nightmares. He couldn't shake them off. After one of the nightmares, he woke up, finally. His vision was hazy and didn't clear up very fast. He saw Ksenia and he slowly got up, trying to let her sleep. His attempt to stay quite ended up waking her up anyways. She said his name and he smiled.


"Yeah, I'm awake. Where are we? Are we safe in the kingdom? Are they ok, did we get the princess?"


Then everything came flooding back. The guards, her, the fake princess. He looked up to her eyes.


"We need to get you home, the king is going to be worried sick, we need to tell them who you truly are, we need to stop this war..." Dominic trailed on.

Ksenia looked over and sighed. He was awake. Ksenia breathed in and sighed. She made her way to him."No rest please," she said and pushed him down gently."your okay and safe." She said and leaned over him."No we can't go back. I can't do it. I am not princess material and I won't loose you. I don't care if you have a betrothed. Well you don't anymore. They thought you died and a lot has changed in 3 days. Luke took command and is now betrothed to your betrothed. We don't exist any more,even if we did to them. They wouldn't believe it." Ksenia said and leaned over him."Look just rest and we can travel when your strong enough a girl can't push you to lay down." She said with a small smile."fever and infection is all gone from your body. You will be fine. Your in a old safety cave for gypsies long forgotten. We wont be found here. So your safe to rest a bit longer." She said. She sighed and grabbed a cup."Drink slowly, then I will heat up some food for you." She says gently. Her hand ran through his hair.

Dominic felt the rage build in him. Why would they move over him so fast? And why Luke?


"Wait, how do you know all of this...and three days? What happened to me?"


Dominic started to freak out, and then remembered her comment about her being a princess.


"You don't have to be in a flouncy dress to be a princess you know. The kingdom needs their princess back, and you're her."


Dominic looked down at his hands, he realized he had been clenching them, he slowly loosened his grip, showing blood. Dominic sighed looked at her, he wasn't going to force her to go back, but he needed to go back.
 
Ksenia sighed and looked at him."well being the honest person I am. I was in the village stealing things when I saw them. So I asked around and the people told me what happened." She said. She sat next to him. She ran her hand through his hair gently. Well you had an infection and a fever." Ksenia said with an almost sigh."I know I am just scared. Promise me you will be here at my side." She said. She looked at him and sighed."come on lets get you back. As long as I you don't go anywhere I will stay." She said with a small smile at him.

Dominic smiled. She was willing to do it.


"I promise, I will be with you as long as you want me, and maybe just a little bit longer." He said with a smile.


His shoulder no longer hurt anymore, which has been awhile.


"Well doctor, shall we go, or do I still need to rest."


Dominic nudged her playfully. He was grateful she was still coming.
 
Ksenia laughed and looked at him."Well then let's go." She said. She helped him up and kissed him on the cheek. She grabbed her stuff and helped him out if the cave. Yeah they got wet and soaked again as they walked for the castle. She talked to him laughing as they walked. She kept her hood up and put her hand in his gently. She was kinda freaked out as she walked to the gates."Hault who goes there" a guard asked. Ksenia looked at Dominic. She sighed and pulled her hood off." Princess Ksenia Ray Veniria Daughter to King and Queen Veniria. This is my soon to be betrothed slash knight. Now close your mouth and open the gates." She said. She gave Dominic a shrug to say.I hope this works.

The guard, to stunned to speak opened the gate. Dominic smirked at Ksenia.


"Future betrothed huh? Someones a little confident."


Dominic led her in the castle. The whispers of the servants didn't cease. Dominic marched straight to the throne room, where the king should be. The king looked like he had seen a ghost when he saw Dominic.


"Y..Y..You're alive?"


Dominic smiled, and nodded. The king seemed to regain his composure and smile back. The king called in his wife, and Luke. Luke grinned at Dominic and gave him a bear hug.


"I thought you were dead man. I didn't know what to do, and your betrothed, she was wonder, I hope you don't mind. Besides, it was kinda put on me too...I'm just glad you're alive."


Dominic laughed.


"You can't get rid of me that easily." He then returned the fierce bear hug, still a little weak. His ex betrothed came rushing in and put her arms around Dominic.


"I knew you would come back. Can't imagine spending the rest of my life with this knight, no, I need someone strong, and handsome." She said, slowing down her words.


Dominic just shook his head and took off her hands from around his neck.


"No, your his now. Thank goodness."


Dominic turned to Ksenia, gesturing for her to join him.


"My king, there is something we would like to tell you. I suspected, but didn't get confirmed until we made it over to enemy territory."


Dominic gestured for Ksenia to continue.
 
"Had to say something to get that face." She said.


"I wouldn't be me if I didn't." Ksenia said with a gentle laugh.


She followed Dominic she was still scared of letting them know who she was. She watched as the king went white. She bit her lip and kinda stepped into the shadows. This wasn't her place. She knew it in her heart. She didn't belong here amongst these men and woman. She how ever made a deal and would stick to it. She saw Luke and just watched in silence. Even Dominics ex betrothed was glad to see him Ksenia smirked when Dominic didn't take her back and pushed her for Luke. She was actually a tiny bit surprised at all this. She wanted to go,her instincts were saying flee, this isn't your place let them think the lost princess is dead. Her mind was screaming at her.


When Dominic had her join him. This was where she decided to stay or not. She walked over to his side. She looked at him when he looked at her. What was she supposed to say? She bit her lip and step forward.


"I have always been the orphan gypsy girl. That's all any one sees when they look at me including myself. How ever Dominic seemed to see past all that. He found me in the secret gardens in the center. That's when He suspected who I was. I told him not to tell me, because I didn't want my life to change. Still don't actually I am not even sure I believe it myself. " she said. She gulped pausing a moment. She looked at Dominic. She wanted to beg him to make her not do this. She turned back to the king and Queen.


"I went over the enemy wall to get the princess. All we got was a trap, and I found out who I really was. I am the lost princess. Everything thing seems so familiar like a dream,but to prove it. I have the dagger the Queen gave me before what ever , well happened."she said. She pulled it from her hair and showed both the King and Queen.


"Dominic was the one to find me, he knew everything in the gardens. I think he was hoping as much as me that it almost wasn't true. Him because I am sure of it. I like this man and He likes me at times that is. Also I am afraid I can't be your princess, I mean I am the lost princess. I just have a side as wild as a boar. That I am not sure I want or can suppress." She said. She went to say more when the king dropped everything and ran picking her up in a hug.


"I do not know why I didn't see it before. The boarish way you got from me." He said. She hugged him back it felt strange. When the king put her down she looked to the Queen who had walked over slowly.

Dominic smiled at her, and when she looked at him like she couldn't do it, he nodded in encouragement. He knew she would be able to do it, and the people would love her, like he did. She proved to them that she was the princess and the King looked overjoyed. He ran up hugging Ksenia, surprising Domininc. The queen slowly made her way to her daughter.


"My baby, my precious baby." The queens eyes were welling up with tears. She pulled Ksenia into a warm embrace, stroking her hair while doing so.


Dominic gestured for everyone to get out, and the royal family have some peace. By the time the queen let go of Ksenia, everyone had already cleared out.


"You've grown up into a beautiful woman." The queen said, laughing still crying.


Dominic quietly left, leaving them in peace. He just wished that he could have some reunion with his parents. Actually he wasn't sure he wanted to meet his mother, after all, she was...one of those women, and probably wouldn't even know him to be her's. No, Dominic wanted his father. His strong stride, and always seemed to know what to do.
 
Ksenia looked at both her parents and when the Queen hugged her. She hugged her back. This was definitely weird for her. Her gypsy family never showed her anything but harshness even as a a child. Ksenia sighed when the Queen let go of her. She smiled gently.


"Thank you, you must know this is weird for me. I am not use to the royal life. I grew up with the gypsies, learned to cook, fight, dance, steal, medicine, and the woods like the back of my hand. I am not the girl you would have raised I am sure of it. I am not sure I can give those ways up."she said. She saw Dominic leave. Her eye's followed him. She truly did like him. This however was going to change that. The King nods to her.


"We understand, You have become a beautiful strong young woman,but all princesses must be kind and fair as well as diplomatic. They all learn and must have a suitable betrothed at the age of 17 you are past that. It is fine we shall look for one for you." He says. Ksenia looked at him and shook her head.


"with all do respect if I must learn all this. I choose my betrothed and I will not change who I am to be the perfect princess you always wanted. I am not a child and If I don't fit into your world as I am then. I can't be here." She said. The King nods to her."I understand,please just let us throw you a feast. Get you all cleaned up into a cozy bed. You may choose the man you would marry in 3 days at the feast we will throw in your honour." He said. Ksenia nods."I wish to go to my room now." She said. She had servants lead her to a large room with a wonderful bed. Ksenia took her cloak and gear off before she stripped down to go bathe. She slipped into the already filled tub an sighed. She shooed the maids and washed away all the dirt. She finally stepped out of the tub and dried off. She went to grab a robe and tied it around her form. Her skin felt so clean, her shone and actually had a bit if wave in it. Ksenia walked into her room the fire had been started and it felt nice. She however felt like she was living someone else's life. She tapped her fingers as she thought. She heard a knock on the door hoping it was Dominic. He did promise not to leave her side.

Luke had been walking down the hallway, and figured he would give his regards to the princess. He had just been talking with Dominic, who had been talking something about a garden to be alone. Luke knocked on her door, not even sure what he would say when she opened the door. While he waited, he decided. He would give his regards, maybe flirt a little, and then he would leave.


Layla had ordered a servant to go find her betrothed. Everything was ruined now that Dominic was back, and especially the princess. She had hoped that she could have poisoned the queen and King, sending the kingdom into chaos. Not only that, but the Lead knight would take the spot of King, making her queen. Layla would just have to wait, and probably kill a lot more people. She didn't like getting her hands messy, but people have to do things they don't want to do.


Dominic wondered if Ksneia was done talking to her parents. He was in the center of the garden, dragging his hand in the water. He should probably get back, just a few more minutes and he would.
