Kai wasn't trying to start anything, as he didn't want to wake the kids by any means, but he just felt that he needed to know. They were partners after all. He would definitely understand. She had her duties as a goddess, just as he had his as an angel, but that was different. There were a ton of other angels who could do his job for him, but Violetta's job was only fit for her. He understood that better than anyone, and if she just told him that her thoughts were becoming so conflicted between normal human ones and all of time, he wouldn't be upset. She told him almost everything else.
Hearing her reasoning, Kai's eyes widened a bit only to return back to normal, just with his brows furrowed. He then turned to face her, looking at her with the same expression. He could tell she was on the verge of tears, but with love comes hardships. He did feel bad for making her feel this way. Standing up from his seat, Kai sighed and put his hands in his pockets, soon speaking in response to all that she had just told him, "Don't cry. I fear the kids may wake up if you do." He said, looking at her. "I'm not mad at you or anything... Well maybe a little disappointed. It's just that with all we have going on right now... The kids, our family.. Us. I just wanted us to be there for them. Through the first few years where they're just learning about the things around them, but you're duty as Goddess of Time is important, and I guess it slipped pass my thoughts." Kai explained, turning around and pushing his chair in. "I won't hold it against you, but from now on, tell me. You have no reason at all to not do so. I have to be on the same page as you after all." He said, looking at her. "I mean, would you rather I just be left out of the loop? Because, that's fine in some other world or timeline, but I can tell you it isn't gonna work all too well in this one. Might as well start keeping secrets while we're at it too."
Violetta
Of course the goddess felt bad about it. She knew that she had broken a promise, one that Kai was still keeping right up until this moment. Even still.. it was a difficult situation to be in. She knew that time would continue on as normal if she changed to a human being, but she wouldn't lie to herself that it didn't feel quite... right. Violetta was glad that she was able to be a human at all of course. There was so many different things she got to experience by becoming a human that she probably never would have gotten to experience otherwise. It was a new adventure that she and Kai had promised to take together. But something always felt off. She couldn't help that part of herself. Kai should understand more than anybody just what her position is. Hell, their first "date" was her showing him just what being her was like. Yeah she probably should have said something, but even still. Once she said her piece, she took a moment to breathe and relax, knowing that Kai would have something to say to that in return. His response would allow her time to collect her thoughts, center herself, and come back into the discussion with less emotional investment. If they were going to rationally work through this, she couldn't get all upset like this. It wasn't fair. Though for the most part his response was totally valid in what he was saying, there was bits that kind of irked her a bit. "There's no need to take it that far." she started, slight bits of anger starting to bubble to the surface. Being human, emotions were hard as hell to control, especially the volatile ones. Sometimes it led to saying things you didn't really mean. "And if you're going to start saying things like saying we should keep secrets, it seems like you don't really trust me anymore. Maybe I should be worried about the trust I have in you. Maybe you lied to me about work and you'll be sucked back into it again and never have time for any of us anymore, huh?" Her eyes narrowed and her voice raised a bit as she too stood up to more evenly face him. She wasn't about to let him look down on her, not now. Even though this whole thing started because of her mistake, it didn't mean that she couldn't have a say in the discussion.
