Fantasy The Euphorian Highschool for Empowereds

Asako immediately nodded and gave him a thumbs up before heading off into the direction of the snack bar. As much as she wanted to just run up to it she stayed at a walking pace, she was in her last year of high school, after all, she should at least act a bit more mature... just a bit. Luckily, no one was in line so she went right up to the cashier. She ended up getting some candy, popcorn, and a drink. She also made sure to get snacks she knew Kenai liked, she wasn't going to be selfish about it. Watching as the cashier rang up the items she tilted her head a bit. Maybe she should try getting a job so she could pay Kenai back, she felt bad he seemed to pay for mostly everything.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Allen blinked at what she said before nodding. "I get what you're saying. Sometimes it's calming to see some things haven't changed over time. Change can be nice and everything, but sometimes you just want something to stay the way it is." He said. He finished off his drink not too long after Ilaani had, moving the cup a bit to the side. "I can at least assure you I haven't changed much, I might have grown a bit, but I'm as charming as ever."
As Asako went ahead and picked out the snacks, Kenai went to the ticket booth to purchase their tickets. He honestly didn't mind paying for Asako's stuff nor did he expect to be paid back. He did it because he wanted to not because he had to as such. Asako still had a year of school left and didn't have a job whereas Kenai did, so he felt it made sense that he would cover things like this for now. After the cashier handed over their tickets Kenai grabbed them and made his way over to Asako at the snack stands, he was going to go ahead and pick out snacks for himself at first but spotted that Asako had already done so, even picking out his favourite snacks, seemed that she paid more attention to what he liked than he thought she did. He tilted his head a little before smiling and walking up to stand beside Asako at the till. Once the cashier finished scanning the items Kenai paid for them and lifted some of them so Asako wouldn't have to carry everything herself. Stepping back from the snack counter once they were finished Kenai pulled their tickets out of his pocket using his free hand and passed one to Asako "All set to go?" he asked as he handed it over to her.

-------------------------------------------------------

Ilaani laughed out at his answer, it was definitely the type of answer she was expecting, so despite his joking, he wasn't exactly wrong about himself being pretty much the same, which was probably why there wasn't much awkwardness between them after not seeing each other after so long. For her either "Yeah, yeah. You're definitely just as charming as I remember" she joked along, rolling her eyes while giving an amused smile. "Me on the other hand. I'm not sure if I've changed or stayed mostly the same. I haven't grown at all that's for sure, I'm stuck this height for life I think" she joked with a small laugh and a shrug. She supposed she had changed somewhat, she felt she was a little happier within herself, after all, her health had picked up quite a bit since coming home since it wasn't as stressful so that had an impact on that. "Either way I'd like to think I haven't gotten like...the old lady kind of boring or something" she said shaking her head.

Despite feeling faint, his smile picked up a little at how happy Seiko looked about being told her food was good but it quickly dropped again when she said she would give him more tomorrow. He looked down at the bowl of curry and laughed a little nervously "...oh...sweet!" It was then that he felt the ingredients of the food really kicking in. Before passing out completely, he spotted matsuko smiling at him from the bag, his brows furrowing at the doll before he passed out completely, slumping on the chair.

"Ka-Ka hmmm Ah Karaage Chicken!" she said happily noticing that he had fallen asleep, she pouted. "Wake up sleepy head. I still have more cooking for you to try." she said poking him with her staff. He probably felt like his soul was being dragged out of his body by terrifying looking hands into the depths of the underworld. Meanwhile Seiko was trying to wake him up by poking him harder with her staff.

Logan soon finished his stretches and looked towards, Scarlet. He raised a brow and chuckled, "Are you sure about that? I'm a pretty good fighter. I'll have you down in less than 3, you can bet on that." He said, raising his hand towards her and creating a small flame from the tips of his fingers. With a smile, and took off his scarf and vest, tossing them outside the ring of the fighting stage and he then took a fighting stance. "Ready whenever you are. If you last longer than 3 minutes, I'll make dinner for the night." Logan added, his tone of voice obviously being a cocky one. He was pretty sure he their little sparring match was going to go in his favor after all.
Scarlet raised a brow. If she lasted longer than 3 he'd make dinner? Pfft, easy. Logan was clearly confident in himself, and she admired that, but oh she was sooooo gonna destroy him if it meant she didn't have to make dinner. Destroy him kindly, of course. "Alright, deal." She unclipped one of the bows she wore in her hair and tossed it aside, if she didn't take them off she'd surely manage to lose one of them, or both. "In the unlikely outcome I don't last 3 minutes, I will..." she took a moment to think, really all she could think of was to offer him food. "I'll cook for you for an entire day, well, whatever you want for an entire day, I already do most of the cooking." She took off the other bow and tossed it aside, getting into a fighting stance of her own. "I'm ready."

When Makoto was being attacked, she started jumping back so she could be out of range of the young fighter's barrage and it sort of made it all easier for her. Makoto then got out an automatic pistol in which she spun around in a 360 while shooting her gun. The gun's projectiles seemed to shoot around Makoto in all directions, the vials being electric. If it made contact, it would paralyze the victim only temporarily. She then figured that she was obviously out numbered. But thanks to the civil war, she was able to improvise during these kinds of situations. She then jumped in the air once again, and started using her waist-thrusters and in short bursts, they propelled her around in the air as she dropped EMP grenades and pepper-spray bombs. She dropped a dozen at a time so it would cover the entire field. After a good amount of grenades had been thrown, she began to throw sleep-shots using her rifle. She intended to finish this pretty soon. Though because of the Ishida's performance, she probably knew it wasn't going to end this easily.
The remaining Ishidas prepared to fight once more, helping the one who was attacking Makoto head on. As Akane watched, she watched intently. Her eyes fixated on Makoto. She was doing well for herself. Even managed to take out a great deal of fighters before the match even begun... Seriously at least. When Makoto fired the electric vials, the young woman was almost hit by one, but one of her friendlies jumped in front of her in time to protect her from it. Some of the others came and began firing at the EMPs and pepper spray bombs that were falling down towards them. Unfortunately, 2 weren't prepared for the sleep shots which resulted in them passing out. Three Ishidas remained. The girl. A young man wielding dual pistols and a sword, and lastly another young man wielding a rifle and pistol. The sniper jumped behind the other two to keep distance and the sword wielder and girl jumped into the air after her to attack. The boy had his sword out in one hand and a pistol in his other, firing numerous shots at Makoto, and the girl began tossing knives, equipping herself with a dagger once she ran out. If none of their projectiles landed, hopefully the fight could be taken back to the ground.

Makoto continued to fly into the air, soon noticing the projectiles. She then decided to use one of her mother's tricks, a magic glyph which acted as a shield. It blocked the projectiles and also deflected them. Once the projectiles were gone, she dismissed the glyph and pulled out a belt of high explosives. Though these were only modified to only push back enemies and not send fragmented projectiles into their bodies so the Ishidas wouldn't get hurt. She pulled a pin which was attached to the other pins since they were all tied to a thread before she whipped the belt at them, sending the explosives towards the Ishidas. As the explosives were thrown, she dived down swiftly past the two in the air and pulling out her sniper and began firing rapidly, hoping to distract the sniper with the shots. Once she hit the ground, she charged and knocked the sniper down and pinned him before putting a knife to his neck as the explosives went off. She then tapped the sniper's neck with the knife, and jumped off to prepare for the other two. She 'killed' the sniper, now it was just the remaining two, if they even managed to endure the blasts. However, her stamina was starting to run a little low. She should've added conditioning and endurance to the list of things to train.

"Mmm, yeah." She then got up from the couch and stretched. Once she finished, she looked at Elliot and smiled. "Thanks for everything. I'll be heading home now. Tell your sis I said bye~ Oh and if you guys wanna hang with me again, here's my number." She said before she got a piece of paper and a pen and wrote down her number. She then set it gently on Elliot's lap before she began walking to the door. "Thanks again. See ya later."
When she left the number on his lap he looked down at it for a moment and blinked before looking up at Seria who was walking towards the door "Oh, uhm you're welcome! We'll definitely call sometime." He said smiling softly as he stood up, walking her to the door and opening it for her "See you around"

He definitely felt like his soul was being dragged that was for sure and while Seiko was only poking him for a matter of minutes it felt like he was being pulled for so much longer than that. He woke up with a start, his eyes shining far brighter than usual as he immediately fell off the chair onto the floor with a large thud, letting a gasp. "S-SEIKO!" he shrieked from the where he landed on the floor when he realised that he was back in Seiko's kitchen. "Do NOT. eat that curry." He warned her as he scrambled to his feet, pointing at the bowl. He still looked paled. Although he originally was trying to spare her feelings, he was now more worried that she'd eat the food herself and be affected worse than him, since his tolerance was probably higher from being non human. So unfortunately for the safety of others he guessed he'd have to be honest

She smiled when Elliot opened the door for her. She thought of him as a nice guy, she wondered why he never got a date yet. She stopped in the frame before looking up at him and smiled at him. "You're a really nice guy, you know that?" She said before she looked ahead and continued walking out and headed home.

She blinked when he laughed out, leaning back ever so slightly as he waved the fork in her direction, smiling lightly as he spoke. She watched him channel surf for a bit before she answered him "Alright. Sorry. I just assumed that you know, you were talking about destroying things, not actually how you act..." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "So...this you that I'm spending my time with now..." She began to ask, looking over in his direction, tilting her head slightly "how much different is he from actual you?" She asked straight out, her eyes examining his reaction closely
"This is me. The one sitting here, spending time with you and enjoying that time is me." Ansom said with a nod before he shook his head. He fell silent for several moments, staring at the tv. He seemed distant all of a sudden and lost in thought. The TV began to freeze up and skip through channels. After a moment, the tv resumed normal broadcast, stopping on a channel about beavers. Ansom looked at Elaena and smiled. "Dessert?"

Logan chuckled and rubbed his neck, "Well, I wonder what you have in store for us today." Logan said, being his usual cocky self. Not even a second later, Logan was sprinting towards Scarlet. He was pretty fast, but that doesn't mean Scarlet was going to be any slower. He never saw her in action, so he had to be as careful as possible if he wanted to win. Logan then jumped into the air, using the sun as cover. He began hurling fireballs down towards Scarlet as a distraction. Once he landed back on land, he continued to sprint towards Scarlet, doing a spin kick once he was close enough to Scarlet.

As the two went for Makoto in the air, they didn't expect her to toss a belt of grenades. Didn't matter if they were non-lethal, it could still pose a threat. "Do something!" The girl yelled to the young man. He grit his teeth and frowned before attempting to fire a few shots at it before it got too close, but ended up losing count of how many rounds he had left. Turns out it was empty. He then quickly unloaded the magazine and threw it at the belt of grenades, causing it to explode. Luckily it wasn't too close, but they still were pushed back down to the ground, just not as forcefully. The sniper was surprised Makoto was able to make it over to him so quickly, smiling up at her and with a grin spoke, "Don't think I'm all that mad that I lost to you. Pretty and pretty good." He said, chuckling a bit. The last remaining two were now waiting for Makoto. Akane noticed the fatigue Makoto was beginning to show, and decided she'd help, using her powers to change into a different form of her's and equipped herself with a bladed staff. She then jumped in towards the young man with the sword and pistols, keeping him distracted so he won't be able to fire off on Makoto. "You've demonstrated your skill. You're well capable of handling yourself against not only one enemy, but a group. Some highly trained too. From here on out, I'll assist you. Don't let me down now, Makoto." Akane said, looking back towards her with a smile.

"Y-You didn't have to..." She spoke softly before she took out a huge gadget which seemed to be a beacon of some sort. She soon fired it and a Mecha dove into the battlefield out of nowhere, sending a shockwave into the ground before speaking. "Task Mecha 141: Active training mode." It then charged towards the girl and shoulder slammed her with great speed and force. Makoto meant to call it earlier so the two would both be occupied as she gathered more of her drones, but since Akane was keeping the boy busy, she guessed the Mecha won't have to work harder. It had an over-shield around its exterior, equipped with a special core which can fire off small rockets from its back while using an assault rifle, meant for destroying tanks. However, the mecha will not use its gun for takedowns, it will only use it to disarm in training mode. It is also equipped with thrusters in its legs and arms, allowing it to be highly mobile and can attack in quick bursts. The Mecha's purpose for now was to keep the girl busy while Makoto gathered more drones to her aid. Most of them were small drones, packing with electric bursts which flew around, mainly towards their targets, shocking their victim with low voltage. Makoto also summoned an energy core which gave herself an over-shield of her own. After that, she returned to the fight, thinking Akane could take care of the boy on her own, and began shooting her auto-pistol at the girl, using electric ammo which only fired electric shocks at a short range. She was confident because the Mecha was also programmed to protect her at all costs. If she were to be attacked, the Mecha would be there quick to protect her.

Akane laughed out loud as she fought the young man. He posed no threat to her and she was just enjoying toying with the boy. He was obviously frustrated since he wasn't being taken serious, especially by one of the members of the main branch. Akane then responded to Makoto, "I didn't, but I wanted to fight as master and student with you in a training battle to test compatibility. How well our skills can be used together rather than being at one another's throats during training sessions." She then disarmed the young man by knocking his sword out his hand with a swift kick to his wrist. He didn't hesitate to equip himself with his firearms, only until he noticed Akane wasn't there anymore. She was behind him and with a nicely placed chop to his neck, the kid fell like a sack of potatoes. Akane knelt down and poked his cheek a few times, raising a brow almost as if she were curious. "Seems we may have softened up a bit over time. Peace sure does do that." She then stepped out of the ring, watching as Makoto and the last Ishida fought. The girl seemed to be handling herself well against the mechs on her own, but she eventually gave in due to lack of energy. She dropped to her knees in front of Makoto and sighed, "Never thought I'd lose to someone outside of my family. Nice fight. You took out a great deal of my family here, and I can happily say that my defeat was by someone worthy." The girl then stood up and bowed in Akane's direction before doing the same to Makoto before jumping up into the sky and disappearing. Akane chuckled a bit and looked at Makoto, "You may just have yourself an apprentice once day." She then motioned for Makoto to come on. "We'll head back to the house. Get you cleaned up before we depart on our training expedition."

When it was over, she watched the girl go on her way. She then looked at Akane when she spoke again and nodded as she walked quickly to catch up with Akane. The drones and the Mecha soon disappeared, and the thrusters on Makoto's waist disappeared too. When she caught up to Akane, she was breathing slightly heavily as she walked beside her. "Honestly... I didn't think I was going to make it. You guys really don't mess around." She said as she looked up at her. "I know my mom trained me hard, but I feel this training would would transcend pass my limit." She then looked forward, starting to regret it. Sure the Ishidas had an interesting background, but she wasn't sure if she could handle the training anymore after that. She then began to think about her future and her past. She was shot once in the civil war, and if she was alone, no one could've saved her. And the job Akane offered could help her mother financially. Plus, the family must be well known to produce projects and weapons. She could develop some of her own projects and make them more efficient. That and after this training, she can for sure take care of herself. But something else seemed to tell her to refuse to regret agreeing to this proposal. Something was calling for her to become stronger. She wanted to know what, but she thinks she'll find out in time. She clenched her fists before she looked up at Akane once more. "Where will we be going?" She asked, her eyes filled with determination now. Any spec of regret had been cleaned up. She wasn't planning on turning back now, especially after her win against the Ishidas in the field. It would likely dishonor her after a win like that. And that girl... Makoto didn't want her to change her mind, instead she wanted to let her see how much she could grow. And Makoto would like to see her grown up as well. She planned to not let the Ishidas down. She just wondered where will they be going...

Asako looked away from the cash register when Kenai appeared beside her. Smiling and giving him a thumbs up as he looked over the snacks. After he had paid and picked up some of the snacks, she picked up the rest and took the ticket Kenai handed to her. "Yup! Lets go~" She said and began walking to the room where their movie was being shown. "Where do you wanna sit? Usually the middle and the back are the more ideal seats, since if you're in the front you kinda have to look up."

------------------------------------------------------

"Oh really? I thought you'd gotten shorter." He tried to keep his tone serious, but the corner of his lip twitched and he was smiling again. "Kidding, if anything I just got taller, lucky me." He chuckled. The only thing he could think of that changed about him would be that he could relax more, but that of course was all thanks to Ilaani. He wasn't as tense and spent time to take breaks from school work and family problems. His brows raised at her last statement, boring? pfft, he always had fun hanging out with her, she was far from boring in his eyes. He shook his head and laughed a bit. "I can assure you that you're not the old lady kind of boring, if that was the case we would be at the store sniffing candles and talking about what laundry detergent we use."

Akane noticed Makoto was looking at her, and she looked at her in response, a smile on her face, "Doubting yourself only leads to failure. I believe if you even feel you have the will to do it all, then you can. Besides, those were just the bottom tier trainees. Just started almost right after the ending of the who UN chipping thing." She said, placing a hand on Makoto's shoulder and giving it a light pat before moving her hand away. "Training in general can help you surpass your limits. This training will help you realize them current limit of your power and if your training with all you have, you may just be able to surpass those limits." Akane said before going silent. As they walked, it sort of became that way. No one said anything until Makoto spoke up again. Akane looked at her, taking notice of the look in her eyes. In a way, it made her happy. It may have only been one day, but Makoto was impressing her even more as it went on. "We're going to the house. Let you clean yourself up. After that, we'll be heading out."

Makoto felt as if a weight had been dropped on her head in a comedic sense. "I-I know that but heading out to where exactly?" She asked softly, smiling a bit out of nervousness as she asked another question. Maybe she should've clarified her question more... Makoto was just curious because she really wanted to know where they were going. Somewhere on the globe or another world?

"This is me. The one sitting here, spending time with you and enjoying that time is me." Ansom said with a nod before he shook his head. He fell silent for several moments, staring at the tv. He seemed distant all of a sudden and lost in thought. The TV began to freeze up and skip through channels. After a moment, the tv resumed normal broadcast, stopping on a channel about beavers. Ansom looked at Elaena and smiled. "Dessert?"
Elaena watched him after he answered, her expression still questioning except for the small frown that was starting to tug at her lips when he fell silent "Right." She said quietly. She knew her question was probably too personal as soon as it came out of her mouth but didn't go back on it. She assumed that was the reason for him suddenly becoming distant. Her attention was taken away from watching Ansom when she had heard the distorted noises from the TV pausing and changing, her eyes darting towards it. When it had stopped she turned to see Ansom smiling again, asking her about dessert. She looked at him with her mouth slightly parted as her eyes flicked to the tv then back to Ansom, she then answered his smile with her own "Oh yes. That sounds nice" she said with a polite nod. "...I'm sorry about my question earlier. I don't think before I ask. It is a habit of mine..." she said, offering an apologetic smile.

"Oh, no. It's no problem." Ansom said as he quickly stood from the couch. He walked towards the kitchen area, his brisk walk clearing the short distance quickly. He opened the refrigerator and looked inside, bending down and sticking his face inside. The cold rush of air hit his face and he let out a sigh. It felt nice as his apartment AC wasn't the best in the world. It was the reason why he had three fans in the closet. He backed out of the fridge and turned to Elaena. "I have some cheesecake from about two days ago, a birthday cake that I picked up yesterday on clearance, and a box of sugar cookies." He nodded and chuckled a bit. After a moment, he snapped and opened the freezer portion of the refrigerator. "And vanilla ice cream." He closed the doors and returned his gaze back to Elaena, awaiting her choice.

What was remaining of Scarlet's slight hesitance towards fighting with Logan disappeared once he started running at her, instead she focused on his movements. Her eyes followed him as he jumped, using the sun to his advantage was a smart move, even if her eyes were better then the average person the sun was still bright. Noticing the fireballs headed towards her Scarlet immediately jumped back to avoid getting hit, only to once again hear him run towards her. Her gaze went straight back to him. Realizing he was going for a kick she brought her hands up to lessen the force of it, pushing back against his leg to create some distance before he went for another attack. Bringing her hands together she sent several spheres of light at Logan, as well as sending what looked like her running around the spheres to throw him off. The moment the spheres got close to him, the clone simply faded away and she swiftly ran forward, coming at him through the spheres of light and went to kick his legs out from under him.

Kenai followed behind after he handed Asako her ticket. He looked around as they entered the theatre room, seemed as though they were just in time, not many if the seats were taken just yet. He nodded in agreement with her suggestions, he remembered having a super painful neck last time he sat too close to the cinema screen and had to bend his neck just to see it properly. He hummed in thought for a minute before answering he about where to sit "The middle will probably be best. Sometimes those who sit in the very back talk a lot, I actually want to hear the movie" he said with a short laugh. His eyes drifted across the room until he spotted free seats on one of the middle rows "What about there?" he suggested, gesturing towards the row.

Ilaani lowered her eyelids at him, her eyes short of rolling at his comment on her height before just laughing along with him. She leaned back in mocked shock at his statement on candles "Excuse me but scented candles are pretty rad. Cinnamon is my favourite." she said before shaking her head and giggling "Well, its good to know I'm not that kind of boring. I plan to never be. Even as an old lady I plan to be cool" she joked. "That is....if I age. Not quite sure if I even do that to be honest." she noted as she glanced to her arm, poking her skin a little for a brief moment

As Ansom walked off to the kitchen, Elaena stayed on the couch, only turning her body slightly so she could look in his direction. She was glad to hear that at least her questions didn't make him want her to leave or something. Though she couldn't shake the feeling that the offer of dessert may have been a way to change the subject somehow, if it was, then she'd leave it that way. Hearing her options she blinked a few times "That's a lot of desserts" she said with a light laugh "Do you have a sweet tooth?" she asked curiously before realising she hadn't answered his question "Oh. and Can I some icecream?" she added after with a smile.

Akane laughed a little, placing a hand on her head. "Why didn't you just start with that? We'll be going out into the more peaceful areas of Japan. Areas that are natural and more in tune with the nature surrounding it. Away from the cities and we may stop in a few small villages while we're out." She explained, waving her finger in the air as she spoke. Akane then came to a stop as they neared her house. She saw a few of the people they were training with heading in, the girl who fought with Makoto being one of them. She had caught sight of them, waving as she went inside the house. Akane simply waved back before motioning to Makoto to follow her inside. "I'll let you use the shower in my room."

Makoto felt a bit embarrassed now that she realized she could've phrased it better. When she saw the girl from earlier, she waved back while giving a friendly smile. She then looked up at Akane when she spoke. She then began to wonder, how many residents were in this house alone? She decided it wasn't much of a useful question so she put it aside. She followed Akane inside before nodding. "Alright... It makes me feel slightly embarrassed I'm using most of your stuff... Thank you."

Asako nodded in agreement, he had a point. Not to mention its where most couples went, she never understood why it was like that, maybe for some kind of privacy thing? Possibly. She glanced towards the back, there was, in fact, a group of boys tossing pieces of popcorn at each other and goofing off. She shook her head and looked where Kenai gestured towards. "Looks good to me~" With an easygoing nod, she guided them to the row, choosing the seats in the middle. She plopped down in one of the seats and set some of the snacks in the drink holder, leaving the rest on her lap. "And now, we relax!"

Allen just laughed and shook his head. Cinnamon wasn't bad, though he didn't exactly have candles or go around sniffing them at home, but his mom used to have them around the house. He had no doubt Ilaani would be a cool old lady, but her next statement caused him to tilt his head. He glanced at her arm as she poked it, was this something that bothered her? He knew what she meant, but thinking that Ilaani might dislike herself bothered Allen. He reached over and gently lifted up her arm, looking at it as if inspecting it. "Hmm?... Well, even so, you don't have to look like an old lady to be one. Your body might not age, but that doesn't mean you don't, even if it's only mentally." He offered her a warm smile
