Noir blinked as she found herself in the clearing and she looked around, seeing the letter and her paper. She scrambled to pick them up, breathing a sigh of relief. She heard Yuto's voice and smiled, and took a step to go after him. But that's when she noticed the pad on the last page that was used.TheRebelliousDragon said:
A black portal of sorts was on it, looking to be composed of a bunch of closely-drawn-together pencil lines. It was swirling and dark, and was dripping black ink onto the ground. In a flash of fear she ripped it from her pad and flung it away from her, landing face down in the clearing. Black ink seemed to ooze from the page onto the ground, spreading across the grass and tainting it black. As it spread, monsters arose from the ink, and the monsters from before came to from out of the shadows of the trees to join them.
Noir backed up as much as she could into the middle, clutching her pad and paper to her. She flipped exactly to a page, pulling a sword from it, holding it out expertly in front of her. She turned her head, trying to judge how many monsters there already were, but the ink was spreading too fast and creating too many new monsters for her to get an accurate count.
Before any of them attacked, evil laughter resounded through the forest, and Dark Noir suddenly appeared in front of Noir, grinning wickedly. Black ink seeped into the ground where she stood, as well as with every step she took.
"Back so soon, eh? Well, I did send you off a day early. I didn't even have the chance to thank you for setting me free."
Noir stared at Dark Noir before Dark Noir suddenly appeared next to her, seeming to have teleported. She grabbed Noir by the throat like she did that one time, causing Noir to drop the sword out of surprise.
"Ever since that day you started drawing things and they started coming to life, I was born. Born of your darkest feelings and despairs, brought to life through ink and other mediums of art. Essentially I am the physical manifestation of the darkness in you. And with your little... episode earlier, I was finally able to free myself from you. So I thank you."
She threw Noir against a tree, her head hitting it hard. Hazily, she looked up to see Dark Noir laughing, picking up and investigating the sword Noir had dropped not moments before.
"I gotta say. Youre pretty talented. Thanks for all the skills. I'll leave ya with my pets. Have fun!"
And with that she teleported off again, and the monsters began to come closer to Noir's body, slumped up against the tree. Her pad was in the clearing far away from her and she could feel the back of her head becoming wet and sticky, her mind floating in and out of consciousness.
Her mouth formed the word Yuto, though of course no sound came out. She hoped he'd come soon.
