The End of Days

Tannis held true, the inside of the manor was very well kept. The garage opened up to a large commons room with some couches and plants. Pictures were on the wall and everything was rather tidey. Tannis picked up everything out of the car and put it inside before shutting the door and locking it, "Before I get to work, I'll show you too a few rooms, you can pick any you want."

 

[InsaneTruth]

"It...its so tidy..." Ebony sai softly "um.. oh yes thank you," she sai after he mentioned rooms.

 

[Ricia]

Tannis slowly showed Ebony upstairs and down a few hall ways, "Here... here is my room.. any of the rooms down this hall you can choose... any room with a bed you can choose. I don't know if you want be close or far, but it is your choice." He said with a soft smile. "I run on a well and I also have a generator... so there is warm water here. Show if you want, but I do ask you be sparing. I rather small baths be drawn"

"I don't mind cold water, I would use rain water... thank you," Ebony said annd looked aroun she was amazed.

 

[Ricia]

Tannis smiled before leavening her to what ever she wanted to do. He went downstairs to carry food down to a storage under his hose. He had three storage rooms, one with food and water, one that had mundane things like medical supplies and a third that had weapons and ammunition that he has gathered. All three remained locked at all times, his car keys in the room as well. He had the only key to open these doors. It was to keep scavengers away in case they do break into his house. Quickly he sorted out most of the stuff into storage, a few of it going to the kitchen.

Ebony found a room and sat on the bed she set a picture of her parents beside it and she took in a deep breath it was a dream a wonderful dream she didn't want to wake from.

Tannis opened a couple cans of vegis and soon started a fire so he could warm them up. He didn't eat a lot, but he was not sure what Ebony ate. Or if she was even going to come out of her room.

The girl laid in the bed pulling the covers over her hea it smelled clean sweet and safe. She soon fell into a soft sleep safe and warm

Tannis continued to cook, heating up the green beans over the fire. Sure he had a generator, but he tried not to use it.

after an hour or too of rest Ebony stumbled out of the room.

 

[Ricia]

Tannis smiled at Ebony when she came in, "Good evening... em.. Ebony wasn't it? I have a bit of food here if you are hungry."

 

[InsaneTruth]

"Oh... thank you," Ebony nodded "an yes my names Ebony... Tannis."

 

[Ricia]

Tannis smiled and nodded, "Tell me.. have you seen other survivors at all while you've been alone?"

 

[InsaneTruth]

She shook her head no "Ecveryone I met.. were turning into those things dieing..."

 

[Ricia]

"I supose a young girl like you would know what those... things are?" Tannis asked a bit hopful, "Tea, water or juice?" He asked.

 

[InsaneTruth]

She shook her head "mutated creatures I guess... caused by the virus... water please,"

 

[Ricia]

Tannis smiled lightly before serving Ebony some water. "I'll admit... I am a bit nervious with you here... worried you'll be scared or creeped out." The red haired man said honestly.

 

[InsaneTruth]

"I was a bit afrai you would be a pedophile... but you seem ok," Ebony said

 

[Ricia]

Tannis coughed a bit of his drink, his face flushed read a bit. How heinous.... "No.... I'm not.." He said before taking a bite of his food. That was what he was afraid she would think.

"I'm sorry I din't mean to be rude," Ebony told him "you have been... very kind thank you,"

 

[Ricia]

Tannis chuckled, "No.. its ok you weren't being rude, it was actually something you should have thought of... I can only imagine the desperate people in such desperate times."

 

[InsaneTruth]

She gave him a soft smile. "Yeah... I wonder... how many people are left,"

 

[Ricia]

"Most likely not very many.... but everywhere I go, I leave my card to those who are still alive. Anyone who can find it is welcome to come seek my company." Tannis said. "I keep all my things locked up, so if people come to raid me, they will have no luck. I use to not be alone here."

 

[InsaneTruth]

"I'm sorry... they all ... died?" she asked quietly

 

[Ricia]

Tannis smiled at Ebony softly, "Yes. Most taken by the sickness. I don't have family or anything. They were all my coworkers. If you find random things sprawled around... well they are most likely not mine. After everything went crazy, I lead most of the co-works from the company that I ran." Tannis said taking a few more bites of food. "For some reason... I was the only survivor."
