I think I've finally decided to go with the House Head of Aigne, The Elderly Arch-Scholar. Who while not known for his combat prowess is widely regarded for his extensive knowledge and persuasive diplomacy.

On that not since age seems to be quite fluid in this setting with magic, what would the age for an actually elderly mage be?

Sadly i think their sparring nowadays would be a more private affair though i could see the spectacle events occurring before the war.

After the war His death wouldve been reported to the public and his resurrection and return would only have been revealed to those he thought could keep it a secret and were important to him.

Needless to say he would have revealed himself to Mauvier.
Oh for sure! Probably had to be a little underground sparring nowadays but I imagine it used to be quite an event back in the day. Of like almost thirty years ago XD

Mauvier would keep that secret close to his heart for sure. He likely would have asked if he could reveal it to his wife but would respect if Malchor wouldn't allow it. He was probably extremely confused on how his brother came back from the dead but, you know what, it is what it is.

That depends greatly.

Magic can extend your life but ones cells can only be regenerated so many times through such unnatural means.

The Corp bloodline circumvents this by having regenerated cells actually being perfect replicas of the cells that were lost. theories that the king would have lived eternally had he not been slain float around. That said the Corp bloodline has only existed for a little over 200 years.

That said the Eldest heir is 76 which is below the standard life expectancy. So if you want an old aged character this route is limited.

Elves in this live to be about 300, magical life extension could boost that to about 450. If your going with a Family Elder that would be a pretty dope idea. An old elder like that wouldve witnessed the horrors of tormund. And would likely feel some type of way about the king killing the Dorche elder 76 years ago since he too was one of those multi-hundred year ancients.

also an elderly scholar would LOVE Alseed the 4th heir, he has an ability i think is overlooked by many but provides a crapton of utility while being laughably low teir compared to his siblings. But mainly because he too is a scholar

Certainly some one who has been around for quite a long while, seen the fall and rise of dynasties, perhaps even played a part in the rise of the current political order, I kind of want him to have been a court advisor for a while before growing conflicts with the King increased to such a point that he either left or was dismissed. (I think one of the big points would be King Aslan continuing to have a series of acknowledged heirs and also unacknowledged which threatens the stability of the succession.)

The old and decreipt Wizard could always appereciate new talent.

i love that. On old friend drawn to aslans kind heart and noble sense of justice, but eventually driven away by his irresponsibility and tendency to act impulsively on his emotions rather than think things through.

My goodness what would his view on all this be? Surely the chaos of the throne situation would be worrisome to someone who fell out with a friend over the wellbeing of said nation.

Also something to consider im sure the Resident scholar and the Queen regent would have thought about. LadyOfStars LadyOfStars

The king had skin as hard as steel, even whilst sleeping. His throat being slit is no easy feat…

While it makes for a dangerous precedent and certainly is not what he would have suggested at that point, I don't think he has much sympathy for the Demonic abominations of Clan Dorche.

Well, let's just say the last half-a-century or so away from the Court would have given him plenty of time to re-evaluate his position on the reign of King Aslan as well as the upstart House of Corp while pondering his orb and delving into the scores of ancient records, re-assessing the reign of Tormund, who was at least partially descended from House Aigne. (at least from what I gather from lore.) and even the times of the Empire of Kirn.

One would suspect the Demon Worshippers, it is not beyond their sorcery. After all it's proven that the foul sorcery of demons can and have fell a Corp beforehand, but such matters are secondary to the fate of the Empire which sits upon a brittle foundation.

Quite brittle. I like your brain and support your bid for the elder of Aigne.

Also yes Tormund was an Aigne/Dorche Product. He was raised by the Dorche. Another of their “superweapon” attempts likely despite their claims otherwise.

Family’s brief summary in the lore has been finished. Now to move on to Prince Alseed.

After that i may create a race list in the lore, or i may just leave it up in the air. As it stands DND serves as a pretty decent bestiary and could double as a race list, obviously with origins and abilities shifted to fit the lore here.

The Dorche family out here really just playing with fire. Just simply straight up creates weapon after weapon and hope it sticks this time around.

Yeeeeaaaah. They may or may not have global domination ambitions that they haven’t tried to hide.

“The rest of the world is simply our buffer from interference until we succeed and then they will kneel and be treated fairly. “ Elder Nosgrix before being split by Aslan.

The other Families just stare at them like "yeah, yeah okay. Now go do some rites for some of our dead."

Gotta keep beating on the Dorche family until they STOP

Also hell yeah, Tintreach lore. I think it definitely fits how Mauvier was being raised by Tintreach mentors of his which is how he simply became a weapon.

Lol yeah. In their defense they also keep demons and cults from doing the same thing and their agents are very good at infiltrating and predicting the actions of cultists and demons alike. So they keep some of the worst things going on in the rest of the world at bay.

Glad you like it, wanted to make them a big part if the defense of the nation.

Useful as tools, definetely shouldn't be allowed to wield any sort of independent political or military power.

Just added my last lore update for the night.

The noble families Heirarchies.
Head
Elder
Lord/Lady
Kinsman
Oathsworn

Oohh, I love Alseed. I think Mauvier's wife, Silena, would have interacted with him more since she would often be in the libraries as well and likely took an interest in his beast taming abilities.

If anything, Mauvier would have perked up if Alseed ever mentioned dragon riding knights. He would want to try it out (it's his way of trying to support Alseed's passions)

That needs to be done in character, its too awesome to pass up lol.

Silena being his library buddy and fellow beast enthusiast would be wholesome and dope. And Mauvier on a Dragon is somewhat terrifying. Strato-droping a Thunder-mage like a literal bolt of lightning is some nasty business.

Oh for sure. This man may be fast but he cannot fly and that's reassuring but then Alseed puts him on a dragon XD

If he ever wanted to tag along to Silena's symposiums or academy ventures, she'd invite him out methinks

Out of all the heirs we've seen so far, he makes for the most agreeable for sure.

Worldof12.png

Also I made this out of boredom, still a WIP, tho I think it looks authentic enough to the original in shape.

So i need to name the 13 cities of Elshien, I need to make breif summaries of the other nations including their rulers, and finally, i need to Adjust the list of claimed characters to reflect the roster.

If anyone needs help with their Cs let me know and ill be happy to jump in.

One needs to be agreeable when they are the weakest link in a chain that many want broken.
