Fantasy The Dragon's Elves

"Yes. I think my time to depart has come. Thank you for all your hospitality." It was weird, to be thanking a dragon. But clearly Ashurin was nothing like the rest of her species. Ryvuv collected his things, and fiddled with the emerald in his pocket. He still had no idea how it might be useful. But he was sure that it would prove valuable. He waited for Ashurin to lead him outside once again.

Once the echos of Conner bashing his axe on his shield faded, a mighty roar answered. A bear the size Conner had never seen before stepped into the light, obviously disgruntled that it had been awoken. This was no troll, and Conner felt a bit guilty that he woke it up. But he had it's attention now, so he decided to just show it he was better. Holstering his axe, Conner yells and spits challanges the bear in his native tongue. The bear, now realizing that the little human was. Aking all that noise, charged at Conner. Side stepping to avoid the massive maw, Conner delivers a jab to the side of it's head. Caught off guard, and surprised by the force of the punch, the bear stumbled slightly. But a punch would not deter the bear, for again it ran at Conner. And Conner, looking like a mad man, stood there, arms raised and still shouting. The bear once more opened it mouth, only to have a shield shoved in it. Swinging it's massive claws, it manages to swipe its claws the whole lenght of Conner's chest. He would have died there, if his armor hadn't saved him. Realizing that he could very well die at the paws of this bear, Conner removes his hand from his shield, and wrapped both his arms around it's neck, cutting off oxygen. The bear struggled to get him off, but he was to close to it so that it couldn't get at him. Slowly, oh so slowly, the bears struggles git weaker and weaker until they stopped completely. Wearily letting go, Conner moves to pick up his shield to inspect it. Where the bear bit down on the wood, it's teeth were able to punch holes in the wood. But the scale, it appeared like nothing happened. This was truly an excelent gift. Perhaps he would repay it if he found that dragon again.
