"Hm hm hmmmm~" Viola softly hummed a tune under her breath, staying willfully ignorant of all the eyes trained on her. Nearly each pair of eyes read the same emotions: surprise or confusion. She tried to ignore her surroundings, yet with each second passing the situation seemed to worsen. Her footsteps grew heavier, a bead of sweat going down her face.

Ha-ha....everyone seems like they have nothing to do but stare at me today, she thought worryingly, shifting her head from left-to-right. Actually taking an eyeful of each person, Viola discovered she knew these people. People she's greeted every morning with a hug, and people she frequently ate with. Viola subconsciously walked straight into her old home: a bounty hunter settlement.

The thought of this worried Viola further. And from her heavy footsteps, she suddenly grew two times faster. She speed walked down the cracking pavement, eager to exit the settlement as quickly as possible. Viola's sudden speed attracted more people, and she felt their presence increase three-fold. Gotta leave! Leaveleaveleave!!! she mentally shouted to herself, now moving as fast as her massive backpack would allow.

Viola, at this point, trudged through roughly half of the settlement; she knew she still had quite a length's away. The stares were not being kept as simple stares as well, and Viola heard loud footsteps behind her. Her eyes widened and she quickly put a hand on her pocket knife: prepared to reveal it if needed. Viola's heart began to race, wondering if they were following her for her previous abandonment. Today was the day when Viola learned she should understand what she's entering before going inside.

Giving a quick once-over at her work, Sera gave a little pat on her patient's head, saying in a soothing "Be careful next time, okay?"

Turning back to where quite of few were gathering around a rather annoyed woman, she caught only a few bits of dialogue. Something about people being abnorms here. The rest was inaudible. An alarm flared up inside her momentarily, but it died when she noticed that there wasn't much open hostility. She walked up to the bunch to see what was going on.

The next moment it looked like the tree had exploded into more plant matter. A girl landed before them, warning of hunters, before awkwardly apologizing about the sudden appearance. At this point Sera had gotten used to surprises, with the bar in ruins behind them as proof.

Smiling gently, Sera extended her hand to the newcomer. "It's no problem. I'm Sera."

Scarlett O'Hare

The depths of crippling loneliness surrounded the small girl. She had no place to call her own, nor did she have a master to make decisions for her. She was lost. "You can choose a different path, you know?" A voice called to her and Scarlett looked up to see a girl covered in eyes looking at her like she understood her pain. Anger flared inside of Scarlett. Choose? She NEVER had a choice. She had no choice but to leave her family to die. She had no choice but to obey an asshole that electrocuted her for speaking. She had no choice but to try and kill everyone in the bar. Not once in her life did she have a choice. She was always under someone's thumb, forced to obey them under the circumstances.

"Bitch." She muttered as she looked at the grizzled figure approaching them. A low growl escaped her as she felt around, happily finding her weapon not too far away. The spear sticking into a wall after being shot out by the blast. Her eyes never left his as he lifted her up onto her feet. Her strength was barely enough to stay standing. She hadn't eaten anywhere near enough food yet. "Hungry." She muttered as the man told her she'd be following him. Wait, he hadn't hit her. He didn't scream. Just talked. Was....was she really not just some mutt? A small sparkle entered her eyes as she looked at this old man. "Master." She muttered as she nuzzled into his leg. This was going to be her master for now. If he was going to treat her like a human, then she'd learn what it meant to be human.

Then a small boy approached and asked who she was. It took her a moment. Did she have a name? She did. It wasn't dog. It was something else, something she treasured. Scratching at her head, the letter S came to mind. "S" She started as she kept thinking. What was her name? A small flash of a warm and friendly face. Long flowing red locks dangling in front of her own face as the woman above spoke. "Scarlett." The name finally came to her. Her name was Scarlett. "Scarlett!" She smiled as she looked between the two, pointing to herself. "Scarlett." It wasn't much of anything beyond a name, but for the girl that had lived her life as a dog, having a human name was the greatest gift she could've ever been given. But even that was interrupted, a voice echoed. "Enemy." She growled as she pointed her spear at the man whom appeared from nowhere. A heavy growl escaped her as she positioned herself between her new master and this unidentified enemy.

Ryuji Nakamoto

"Easy there killer. She's just a frightened little girl. No need to lash out at her."
Ryuji spoke, but as his sentence finished, a loud pop came from his shoulder. It seems he never even noticed that it was dislocated. "Well that stung." He grumbled as his healing power continued to play its priorities. Vital organs, stopping bleeding, then repair and reinforcing. It was the healing process, but at this speed, it was truly inhuman. He gently pet Snow's head with a smile. "Well my little snowflake, my name's Ryuji. Feel free to call my Ryu." He smiled as another man and a woman approached. Communications station? There was no point in that. "Sorry friend, I don't have any information for ya."

Shrugging as he listened to the new girl talking about injuries he smirked. "My dear, I'm an abnorm with a wonderful healing ability. I'll be fine within a few hours. If one of my bones had punctured my heart, it may have been a different story, but it didn't. And thus I get to witness an opal mixed within the muck." Ryuji felt a bit overwhelmed. First his desert rose, then a snowflake, and now his beautiful opal. It was like a small harem for his viewing pleasure, but alas he was currently in charge of Snow. She had followed him, she was HIS responsibility. "Thank you for taking care of Snow." His speech, usually flamboyant and grand, was reserved and calm. It took a lot for Ryuji to get serious even when it came to giving thanks. The minute the rustling of branches came form above them, Ryuji moved. Grabbing both Snow and the opal's shoulders and moving them away. He wasn't ready to fight at 100% but he didn't need to be to immobilize them.

With four needles set to fly, Ryuji managed to stop himself as a woman appeared something about the way she landed bothered him. Based off the sounds of the branches snapping above, she should've done some serious damage to her legs, but that was not the point right now. "Another lady enters the mix. This time, more of an Ivy than a flower. Something beautiful when it mixes with its scenery." Ryuji commented as he put himself between Snow, his opal and this new girl. From what he could tell they weren't combatants, but Vira could handle herself. That was for certain and so could the guy in the coat. "So, you don't like hunters either? Or are you just willing to help random abnorms? After all, based off where you came down form, you've already heard our conversation." Ryuji hovered one hand over his mask. He would get serious if she posed a threat to the others.

Rose Valencia

Her humming had nearly distracted her, but the sound of snapping branches caught her attention. Quickly turning around, Rose ran back towards the sound. Her boots, stomping into the soil and over grass with each motion. Removing her glasses, just in case, she slipped over to the group that had formed. "Well well well, if it isn't the vandals. Come to demolish the forest now too?" Rose jeered at the group as she put her glasses back on. And as if a switch had been flipped, she smiled warmly. "My name's Rose. I watched the fight, you're all pretty amazing. If the Rejects had a few more like you, we could probably be a contender with the big gangs." She eyed each member of the group, her smile still planted onto her face with a sense of freedom and knowledge that this wasn't going to end in a brawl. Her overwhelmingly positive energy flowing form both her smile and shining eyes. "So, I'm guessing you're running from hunters?" She giggled as she looked about each, until she stopped at the girl with the scar. "You weren't in the fight. I don't trust you." Taking a step away from this other girl, Rose was ready to paralyze each of them, but it wouldn't do her any good if she couldn't get them all in one go.

Kore Dair
Kore dearly wished she had stayed up in the tree now, but she was here now, and she had better act properly in front of these people, who all seemed very different to her first impressions.
She looked at Sera first, as she had been the first to speak, "Kore Dair.", she said, looking at her hand bemused, cocking her head a little. What is she doing...? Before she raised an amused eyebrow at the male with the tongue. "Do you consciously flirt with every girl you meet, or is it a knee-jerk reaction?", she surprised herself with the confidence in her voice (although she didn't let it show), mixed with sarcasm. She had certainly never been flirted with before, and she was unsure of how to feel about it - perhaps that was why she spoke so unusually. "No I-", she was about to answer, but the unusual girl she had spotted before joined in, presenting her own questions, or statements anyway.
"I have more sense than to join in on something so atrocious... And it's safer for everyone if I stay away from any sort of combat.", she spoke with both sadness and bitterness, a history behind her words, again surprising herself with the feeling in her voice. She had never really met any other abnorms, especially in this volume. Well, she assumed they were abnorms from what they had said, although it was entirely possible that some weren't.
"Ahem... Anyway... Like I was saying, n-no. I don't like hunters - they like to follow me like mosquitoes...", she trailed off into a mutter, clearing her throat again.
"Uh, but I can help you get away, if you'd like me to? The forest is the best way through, but some parts are incredibly dense and almost impossible to get through. Uh, I don't think 'random' really applies...", she looked at him more closely with her brilliant green eyes, more specifically at his injuries, and the way he held the smaller girl behind him, but said nothing.
"Um... Yes? Yes, I was.... listening. But mainly because of her.", she pointed at the foul mouthed, angry lady that she had been worried about earlier.
Her face soft and movements nonthreatening, she took a side step, and turned towards the trunk of the tree she had come from, raising her arms expectantly. Completely out of view of all these people, her bag of grains had been lowered slowly and silently down the tree as they all spoke, luckily on the opposite side of the tree to the group. She grabbed the rough cloth of the long, lumpy bag as the branches released it, and held it with relative ease, as the ivy supported her arms, invisible under her clothing. She slung the heavy bag over only one shoulder this time, with only one arm holding it in place with no effort at all, making a not-so-discreet show of strength unintentionally. The ease with which she held, moved and now carried this 30kg bag should not have been possible, but she didn't pause to think of this, the ivy around her was natural to her.
Patting the pine tree with the other arm and smiling softly at it in thanks, she turned back to the group.
"So... Would any of you like my help?", she said a little hesitantly. Why are you doing this?! You have no idea who they are, if you can trust them, for all you know this is a clever trick and they're all hunters. Her paranoia whispered at her, but she quenched it, ignoring it as she looked at the group with mild curiosity from the tree line.

The insult flew by Jessica's ears as she turned away, it didn't matter, there was far worse than words out to get her. Maybe the girl would be smart enough to have the statement reminisce in her mind. Turning back to the old man, she observed in surprise as the small girl seemed to take a liking to him, it seemed she was the type to rely on others. Not a smart outlook in this world, that was how people took advantage of you, perhaps that was the origin of her gang involvement.

Overhearing some of the talk of hunters and abnorms from the group of whom she thought to be drunks, she rolled her eyes. The way they were talking they were just asking to be targets for those watching and listening, which was a normal threat. It was no wonder the taller woman sounded like she would have cut them down for following her, it was likely the safest option.
Nodding to the older man, her eyes noticed another approaching, complaining about the 'ice', surely a perceptive one to deduce the near-invisible slick, or a lucky guess. He definitely had the look of what the girl described to be an 'enemy'.

Jess glanced daggers for a split-second, before turning her attention back to the older man and his child companion. In an attempt to keep the volume of her voice soft enough for only them to hear it, she spoke up. "You should hide too." She coldly commented, before turning away once more. Bounty hunters didn't care who they took out in their missions, and although Jess doubted they were abnorms, she still expected they weren't safe remaining here, but it wasn't her responsibility to ensure anyone else's safety.

Patrick looked at Keiji with an uncomfortable cough as Scarlett clung to his leg. Scarlett apparently the man said with a sigh. If this kept up he would have to open an orphanage, dam his bleeding heart!

He shook his head, had to get them moving befo, "Oh gosh darn it! Who the hell put ice on the floor!?" Patrick spun around just as Scarlett lept in between the newcomer and him growling, GROWLING!!! What had happened to this girl, she seemed almost feral. A more pressing concern though was how in the hell had this guy managed to get so close to Patrick with out trigging any of his auto responses?

Now Patrick had been around for a long time, he had seen and done things most people only dream about, mostly nightmares but still, he had been through more life and death situations, then most people now a days have seen years of life, needless to say Patrick Oglethorpe was a very experienced man. Now all of that experience was screaming at him that the man currently complaining about slipping on ice was dangerous, the kind of dangerous that Patrick wouldn't want to fight while having to protect two kids.

Patrick grabbed the growling girls hand and spun her to face him, it's ok, your safe now, daddy's here, he said softly, but just loud enough for the other man to hear, before wrapping the girl in a hug and gently pulling the spear from her hands. Sorry friend no idea who left the ice, or who left the old bar in such a state, and I'm not sticking around to find out nether come on kids let's clear out, he drawled out in the local accent, sometimes having the ability to directly contol your vocal cords came in handy.

He picked up Scarlett and motioned for Keiji to follow him, he waited until they rounded the corner and got out of sight before tieing the spear to his pack picking up both kids and taking off at a dead sprent for the forest. There was every chance that that man was a hunter, and where there was one there was usually more lurking around. He was confident he could take a hunter or two, maybe even a group of them if he was willing to deal with the back last of putting his body through that kinda strain, but he had two mouths to feed he couldn't afford to be held down in a fight and an even longer recovery period. Not with Keiji and now Scarlett relying on him...DAM HIS BLEEDING HEART ALL TO HELL!

Snow
ed4829d32d390ded3e95cd403f22cbb2.gif

Snow winced as the bandages were peeled from her skin. Her eyes went to Ryu, the only person she sort of trusted at this moment. They quickly went back to the healer girl. “P-please. You d-don’t have to do that really…” Anxiety filled her veins at the thought of someone's so near her bloody wounds. “I’m feeling great. But you shouldn’t worry about me. My injuries weren’t from the battle they were-” Snow paused, chewing around the wounds in her head. “They um… were sorta… kinda… self induced?” She paused.

The scary girl was barking out orders again. Hunters! Her skin shivered as goose bumps formed. “W-WG prison… oh god.” Snow whispered under her breath. Her eyes closed as the healer patted her head, all finished up. “Thank you.” came out her sheepish words. The red head made her blush as he spoke of his healing abilities.

“I am glad that you will heal. I would feel bad if the person who saved me died.” A small smile almost broke down her guarded and scared looking facial expression. But then Snow remembered who she was. The sad, nervous glint returned to her eyes and she turned inward, holding herself in her arms. She wasn’t supposed to be happy. To trust. To be thankful. She would never give up her freedom and let someone take care of her. Of course right when she thought that a girl from a tree covered in ivy of unknown alliances just dropped in with a bang.

Ryu moved her and the healer behind him. He was protecting her? HE was the injured one! Her neck and cheeks flushed hot with annoyance at being pitied. Her bottom lip stuck out in a slight pout before she hid her face, not brave enough to speak out since the girl seemed to be not a threat. In fact… the more this ivy girl spoke, the more hope Snow got. “Yo-you would really help us escape?”

Her shaky shell slowly started cracking but snapped tight closed as the new girl appeared. Snow didn’t like the stomping of her boots. They scared her... Rose apparently. When she said her “I don’t trust you.” Snow almost said, “Yeah I’ve been feeling that.” Thankfully she knew when to shut up. Her eyes sought out the rude speaking warrior girl, the healer and finally Ryu. She didn’t know who to look for.

Jackson simply stood there and crossed his arms while saying nothing; the talkative ones were the ones who got themselves into trouble from what he had observed in the past. Upon the topic of a WG prison, he had seen what the WG would do to Abnorms as part of his "state sanctioned education," but he wasn't about to turn someone in; he was not a bounty hunter. Actually, if one was perceptive enough they'd recognize the prewar/post war WG fatigues Jackson was wearing. Of course several things happened all at once while he thought about this, a girl revealed herself from within the pines, Sera introduced herself to Snow, a possible bounty hunter had arrived at the bar and the new girl, Kore, had offered to help. Jackson, still crossing his arms, stepped forward until he was shoulder to shoulder with Ryuji and spoke in a muffled voice. "If you want to help us, I'd accept your aid as long as you're not a hunter. However, given our current sights its safe to assume you're not." Jackson was not about to give out his name to anyone apart from Sera unless she decided to give it out for him. Names were power in this wasteland and if he wanted to keep up this tough image, it was going to have to stay that way. Of course, not many people knew his softer persona, but he was not about to share that, like with his name.

Vira
Tib199u.png

It didn't take too long for the one up in the trees to reveal themselves, rustling branches out of the way, pine needles loosened and falling annoyingly around Vira. She growled brushing them off of her, hearing all the cracks and rustles from the disturbed trees. If this location wasn't already compromised to the danger of Hunters, that infernal noise from the trees above would draw attention. So, she wasn't a Hunter, but an Abnorm. Unless she was disguised as a Hunter, hiding her abnormality... Probably not, though. Kore. Her name was Kore. Not that it mattered; Vira glared back at her, having finally brushed herself free of annoying pine needles. Her eyes found the nurse: Sera. They fell on the redheaded man next: Ryuji. His chastising words made her glare, growling and clenching her fist, "Grrr..."

She knew several new names. None of which she really cared to know.. Not in this world. Being alone was far better. Her eyes drifted off to the big man with some kids -of all things- around him. She could tell by his getup he knew a thing or two. "Heh, he doesn't know the most important thing.." she mused aloud to herself. That having such attachments -will only lead to you getting hurt. Kids. Pah. They were weak, useless. The first to die. From being so useless, so pathetic, so careless. Their deaths, too, hurt the worst. Vira was familiar with this, she knew what she was 'talking' about. Upon the comments towards the women, she found herself growing angry. Standing with her hip cocked, hand abrasively placed upon it, Vira commented towards Ryuji, "Nevermind, you're the exact jackass I figured from the beginning."

Before she had anymore lip to give, another sauntered up. Rose. Yet another name she cared not to know. Just as speculated, the sound of those disturbed trees had brought the attention of another. That was bad. It meant they -er rather- she should leave quickly. At her mentioning of the 'big gangs', Vira's interest piqued. Albeit not because she wanted it to. Instantly, flashes of memories came to the forefront. Of her youth. Dark, twisted days. Spent training, fighting, killing. For a man named Sy... 'the Devil'. His gang. One of the Big Three. --The (shaky) alliance of the strongest three gangs in New-America. 'The Devil and His Demons'. Was the biggest, baddest, strongest Abnorm gang on the Mid-Western side of New-America. They ruled this very area, with other gangs under them, or kept loners running scared. She helped cement that empire... Shaking her head, she kicked those foul memories aside. That was a long time ago. "Psh, doubtful," Vira found herself scoffing finally in response, deciding to leave this conversation once and for all.

The man with the kids sprinted into the forest where that the Abnorm from the trees -Oh, right, she actually knew her name! Kore!- indicated she would help. "Pfft, whatever, everyone is for themselves," Vira spitefully grunted. Overhearing 'I don't trust you', Vira turned to the side to comment rudely on it, like her mouth seemed to always do. "Ha! Bitch, there ya go! Be smart. Don't trust anyone." Her eyes shot to all the people around. "None of these vile gits. You never know which one is out to get you!! Like that bastard you're hiding behind! Yep, you have no idea. Not in this world." Her face darkened, "How haven't you fuckin' figured that out yet?" With a shake of her head, she muttered, "Baffling."

With that, Vira decided to follow suit of the man with the kids. And move off into the forest. Except she wasn't following him out of any sort of 'camaraderie' or whatever. It just made sense to disappear into the forest. There was another town over... that she could restart.

He simply watched the 'commotion' going on around him before shrugging to himself slightly. Walking over to the group only long enough to get a good look over everyone's face before looking back at Vira Shaking his head for a moment as he simply cocked his head to the side. "I believe you where the one that the gang was after correct? Cause if so I hope you can pay for the damage that was caused...As for your attitude, might want to work on it. Better to have a few allies than those who want to stab you in the back whenever possible...Just saying so don't shot the guy with thoughts." Is all he dares say when he is within sprinting distance of her where he would have a hard time moving out of the way. As he turns, starting to walk back to his little 'home' after the incident. The 'bandaging' on his back already starting to soak through from all of the scratches from the bits of scrap metal from the previous explosion.

Vira

Vira felt herself wanting to growl ferally, Scarlett 'Dog'-style, but refrained. The whole 'gr', thing was honestly something she picked up back when she was an underling for the Devil. In fact, she was similar to 'Scarlett' in that regard; even came with a similar nickname: the Right Fang. Back when she worked under the Devil. She settled on cracking her neck, and visibly clenching her fists angrily. Rounding back on the idiot that spoke up to her, she gave him a piece of her mind.

"You have no fuckin' clue what you're talking about fool! Having 'others' is the surefire way to get yourself hurt." It wasn't clear what she meant by that. "Better to be alone!!" Sure, the gang had been after her, but if she left the area, then the gang wouldn't need to come here and attack the place, now would they?

He stopped and spun on his heels as he growls for a moment, looking at her once more as he simply shakes his head again. "That my....Acquaintance is where your wrong. For you see it's better to have someone watching your back either when you sleep or when your traveling about. Hell a dog or cat that gets spooked is better than nothing so you actually know when something is about to happen. And trust me when I say I speak from experience..." He after another few moments of waiting decides not to turn his back once more. Getting a distinct feeling he was starting to either annoy or anger the woman he was talking to. Though he does take out another few bandages as he changes the bandaging. The original set already having been soaked through as the blotches of crimson helped to show exactly how bad the wound could be.

Keiji looked to the girl as she called Patrick, "Master". What kind of life did she have before this? He doubted it was anything like his. Sounds more like she was slave. Then again, he was kind of like a slave of his parents... That doesn't matter anymore. He told himself while shaking his head to clear the thoughts. The girl spoke again, saying her name, which was Scarlet. He shrugged and was about to introduced himself when Scarlet had suddenly pulled out the spear from the wall and aimed it at one man, saying a single word. Enemy. He stopped for a moment, and then his guardian began talking with the guy as to not seem suspicious. He played along. "Okay, dad!" He chirped as Patrick mentioned they were leaving. He followed Patrick out and around the corner, making sure to look back.

He knew what was coming next. He only stood there and waited for Patrick to pick him up, and Scarlet, too. As he ran off with the two children tucked under his arms, Keiji thought it was time to introduce the two of them now. "So, Scarlet... well, hi I guess..." It was hard to speak with the constant jostling from Patrick's running. "Anyway, my name's Keiji and this is Patrick." He nodded his head up to acknowledge Patrick. He got straight to the point there. He looked up to Patrick. "Hey, uhhh Patrick? Is she staying with us?" He realized he had made a mistake but didn't say anything about it. He should've only introduced them when he knew she wasn't going to go behind their backs.

Kore Dair
Kore was now completely overwhelmed. Living her whole life alone, with only the occasional interaction with people, really didn't prepare her for how a group acted.
Her eyes darted from one person to another, not knowing really where to look or what to say, a bewildered expression developing on her face as the conversations broke down - mainly due to Foul-mouth McGee.
She took another step back into the forest, a bit scared of all these people now.
What have you gotten yourself into...
"Um, yes I'd like to help?", she said it like a question again. "I wouldn't take you to any of the other towns, it's much too risky - although that part of the forest is much easier to go through... Up in the mountains, there are great Sequoia trees, and all sorts of trees, really.", she hesitated, not sure where she was going with this.
"Although it is a very difficult trek, and takes a long time, it's much safer, and remote.", she smiled a little awkwardly.
"If what foul mouth said is true,", she glances at the rude woman, "None of the towns in this area are safe. Before long this whole area will probably be crawling with.... them.", she sighed sadly. This meant she would probably need to move.

Sera pushed her way past Ryuji and Jackson. More people have shown up now, and some of those people spoke their minds. Mistrust has been planted, and obvious tension began to fill the atmosphere. Rose, a pink-haired lady, had no fear in spelling out her distrust for particular individuals. Kore looked increasingly distressed, and Vira... well she looked even angrier than before, and that's saying something. Not good, at this rate, the worst-case scenario would be everyone here suddenly become embroiled in an enraged brawl that would not end well. No one needs that, not now and not ever. Non-combatants would get involved and that is unacceptable. She stole a quick glance at Snow, and despite Ryuji's so-called healing capabilities, he wasn't at 100% yet. She didn't want to pass up on Kore's generous offer for assistance either.

"You guys, listen! It is not going to help if we instantly turn on each other. We are all here now, let's keep the fangs away! I know, in this world it's not so easy to trust another person anymore. But do you know why this world is in ruins in the first place? The only way things are going to get better is if we work together, and that means not spouting nonsense about trust right off the bat."

Sera took a deep breath after her tirade. She said more than she should have, but backing down would bring it all to waste. She looked at Rose and Vira square in the eyes, knowing full well that they can kill her with one swipe if they so choose. But, she stood firm anyway.

Jackson was a little surprised when Sera pushed past him and Ryuji to speak her mind. It just so happened that she spoke about why they should trust each other. But then she asked why the world is in ruins causing Jackson to shudder as he knew the exact reason why. His mother had worked on the American super weapon that helped destroy the world. Shaking off the shudders and memories, he walked over and stood next to Sera and put his left hand on her shoulder to speak. "Sera's right, we should work together on this and not tear each other to pieces for crying out loud!" He stood firm next to Sera to help hammer her point home.

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Bar

"Yeah well, next time, maybe keep your kids away from this part of town." Lucca said to the man as he got up from the ground.

Irresponsible parent, hanging out with his kids in a half destroyed bar... as if. Even if that story was believable, there's no way Lucca would mistake that little girl with that big ass pole arm.

"Also, you might also want to discipline your 'dog' a bit so that she don't run around wrecking other people's place." But by the time he had gotten up to say that in the most menacing tone he could muster, the man was gone, along with the kid, and the little girl who was undoubtedly Scarlett "the Dog", as bounty hunters call her.

"Whoa, rude."

Immediately, Lucca gave chase, that was a big fish, biggest he had seen in the entire month he was here. As a B rank Abnorm with a small body but large quantity of strength, she was infamous along side the gang she works for. In other words, that man she's with must also be part of the gang, and if Lucca's hearing wasn't off, he could have sworn he heard her calling him "master". If that's true, then that must be the boss. If he catches them, let alone a month, he'll be living the high life for at least a half a year, heck, he might even get a bit famous for this.

The man was slick and maybe too much so for someone dragging two kids around. For several corners, Lucca had almost lost the man, constantly running after the tails of the man's shadow and silhouette. It was like chasing a snake on legs through a constantly twisting maze, and it was not until the man's final dash towards the forest, did Lucca finally caught full glimpse of him. At that moment he felt it instinctively, call it a hunch if you will, that if he don't catch the man now he'll never catch him in the forest. Lucca pulled out his tranquilizer pistol, and took aim, hoping for a lucky shot. However, the trigger was never pulled, for In the very next instant, Lucca found himself diving into the midst of bushes and trees. Now, it was not as if he had gotten a cold feet, it was a rational risk reassessment, because while Lucca may just handle Scarlett "the Dog", a person who might be a gang boss, and a kid, he was not ready to face an entire gang, which he had been apparently lead right into.

From the shades of the trees, he peered at the gang, and looking at the odd assortment of people, he had no doubt in his mind that this is an Abnorm gang, most likely part of Scarlett's gang. Currently, the one in charge seems to be an angry lady giving some kind of speech into the crowd. Too bad he's too far away to hear what dastardly plots they're all taking about. As he kept his watch over the presumable gang gathering, wondering how is he ever going to get the jump on so many of them at once. Perhaps Lucca should have gone home when he had the chance.

"Whatcha wanna see first?"
"I'm blind."
"Riiiiiiight."

A blink. A stare. A tilt of the head. Opening his mouth to say something, he stopped, seemed to contemplate what exactly he wanted to say, then closed his mouth once more. Instead, he stood up, and gently picked her up off the ground, becoming vaguely amused as she simply let her body ragdoll as if she were a kitten, and then helping her back to her chair, returning to his afterwards. Opening his mouth once more, he again paused as the right words just didn't seem to come to mind. Sighing and finally just deciding to let himself go with the flow, he spoke up. "Ta be fair, you're kinda... Small, yeah? Not much strength in ya frame, and the book wasn't that heavy ta be honest. But I gotta ask now... Did ya wanna go outside? I can understand how bein' in this house can be stiflin' and I really don't care much for Ryder's wrath cause well..." He gives a careless shrug accompanied by a silly chuckle.

Without even a moment's passing, the girl responded with a quick double nod.

Chuckling once more at her response, Adelphos started to stand up but then stopped, a contemplative look on his face. "Say, I got a question if ya don't mind... Why doesn't ol' Ryder bring ya out ever? I get yer blind and all, but honestly that ain't nothin' a little hand holdin' can't fix. 'Sides, ya gotta get out into the world eventually, especially since yer a smart girl, even I can tell that. So why is he purposely neglecting you and your needs like that?"

It would seem as though the girl were trapped in thought, the way that time simply passed in silence. But then, when she broke silence, it could only lead to more confusion. " He is a 'Hunter' " The girl twisted in her seat, resting her head against the seat's backing as she looked upon him. " Unlike you. " , it's peculiar. One would expect such words to come with a harsher tone, as if to bite. But her words trailed with a tinge of curiosity. One that left a mild effect of allure. After all, she wasn't the type to simply say things with ill-intent.

At this he openly laughed, not offended in the slightest apparently. "In fact, I am a Hunter! One of the best actually! I have a certain... Reputation among many, many people for how good I am. Me being a Hunter is honestly the reason I came here the very first time, I heard Ryder had a sister and I came to convince you to in turn convince him to fight me! I mean, I'd win, but I just wanted the bragging rights really. Never did ask you to do that... Still! I go on more jobs than him, and I have enough time to stop by quite often to read to you don't I? Though that may just be because I am amazing in every way!"

It was the truth, his answer was not incorrect in any way. Yet still, the girl provided a gentle smile as if the conversation was still rightfully in her own grounds. Her smile only cut away when her eyes slowly drifted along the far wall, much along the same course as the street outside. "I fear my statement still remains. Neither you, nor I, are Hunters like Ryder. Like, them." And then her eyes met the window once more, as if looking out despite her being incapable of sight. " Why don't you look out there, and tell me just how you relate to starving wolves? "

Tilting his head to the side at her retort, he responded as he got up to look out the window. "I ain't sure if that's an insult, a compliment, or a fact. Wouldn't be the worst of any of them that I've received, that's for sure." Reaching the window, he immediately spotted what she was speaking of, and even as he began weighing his options in his head, he wondered how exactly the blind girl knew what was going on. "I never considered myself starvin' for one... And I've never been called a wolf, for some reason people keep sayin' I remind them of coyotes of all things." Glancing down at her, he searched her face for a moment before turning back to the window to keep an eye out on his potential mark. "But truly, is Ryder being an apparently starving wolf among a pack of starving wolves the only reason you're kept in this house? I know Ryder, and he's more than enough to fend off any would-be agressors in this town."

Ashelynn responded by first, shaking her head in denial. " It is because he is blind, as all Hunters are. They look only at that which they currently hold, without looking any further. Some are bent on rage by their losses, and others are content with that which they have. " Without warning, the girl forcefully slammed her palm against the glass of the window, attempting to break his concentration if even for a moment. " Sometimes it is best to act, rather than regret. Or are you the type of individual that enjoys just sitting there as the world passes you by? "

Closing his eyes, he didn't bother responding to the girl for a moment. "I am greedy and possesive. Enough is never enough, and sitting idle while waiting for what I desire to come to me has never been an option..." Sighing, he glanced down at her, a strange glint in his eye. "That being said, I'm giving you two minutes to grab anything and everything that you treasure." He said no more, turning back to the window, absently forcing it open for easier access, and continuing to keep an eye on the street.

Without a word, the girl slid past him, as quickly as she could exiting the room. And sure enough, within two minutes' time, she returned with a coat wrapped up in the shape of a temporary sack. The fact that she wasn't struggling with it probably meant there was little more than clothes present within. Albeit, a random assortment given her condition. It was questionable just how long the girl has been in the house, given her knowledge of it's design.

Nodding again, he grabbed her hand and guided her out the window. As he went to get out himself, he paused, then sighed. "Give me a moment." And a moment it did take as he quickly found a pencil and a piece of paper where he quickly jotted down a note and left it in a noticeable spot. Hopping out the window himself, he again grabbed her hand and began a brisk, but seemingly natural, walk towards what had concerned him so, humming a tune that gradually got louder as he got closer. Immediately people began backing away as they saw his figure jaunt down the road, and as the humming continued to grow louder and louder, the air filled with a sense of foreboding that only he seemed to emit. Within moments they were within hearing range of the target and all those following. The stalkers, hearing what to them was a war drum, quickly and frantically disappeared to anywhere but here, much to Adelphos' disappointment. Nonetheless he slid up next to the other girl, Ashe still in tow, and greeted her in his usual manner, the previous tense atmosphere a distant memory.

"Hiya! I'm 'fraid I'm gonna have ta lead ya outta here 'fore somethin' dastardly happens 'gain! Yer lucky I got here in time, ya know~?"

"We are going on an adventure!"

Well, she wasn't wrong.

Kore Dair
Staying silent, Kore worried that the fracturing among these people would result in an unpleasant outcome, something Kore most certainly did not want to be around for. Her eyeballs bounced from one person to another as they spoke, unsure whether she should say something.
There was a pause in the conversation, if it could be called that, and Kore opened her mouth to speak softly. "Please, don't raise y-", she stopped abruptly mid sentence, and froze completely, her hair almost visibly prickling - much like a cat's when it is about to attack - and her back arched a small bit too, much in the same cat-like way.
Her gaze became murderous, and a small and evil smile crossed her face so quickly, that if you blinked, you'd miss it. The trees had told her all she needed to know.
Deathly calm, her voice dripping with venom but still as quiet as usual, only now it sounded as deadly as a Black Mamba. "It seems we are too late for that.", she flung her free arm behind her, in a claw-like gesture, and the forest burst to life.
The man watching them from a distance had no chance. The very trees he hid amongst suddenly sprouted branches that whipped around him, immobilising his arms and legs instantly, and trussing him up like a Christmas turkey, and lifting him high off the ground. Any struggling would be futile, the tight bonds were much to numerous and strong to break free from, and both his guns were removed instantly by another deadly fast, snaking branch.
Calmly, Kore placed the heavy bag onto the floor with one hand, taking a few steps closer to the group and turning around. The man was brought forwards slowly by the branches - he was several meters up in the air - brought to almost the edge of the treeline where they could all clearly see him, but he was still in the forest and semi-hidden.
"If you value your life, you will tell me who you are, and why you intended to hurt those people.", she said in the same calm, vemon coated voice she had spoken with earlier, an astonishing and unbelievable contrast to how she had sounded before.
The branch holding the weapons extended past the treeline, and deposited them in Kore's hands. She examined them, checking the contents of both. "As I suspected. I don't think you quite understand what you have gotten yourself into, amateur.", she smiled an intoxicatingly sweet smile, a smile that had sent shivers down the spines of many a hunter she had met before. It was the last thing they had seen, after all.
"So, hunter. Are you alone?"

Ryuji Nakamoto

Yet another beauty had stepped into vision. "A beautiful little primrose joins the garden." He muttered turning to the other male. "Quite the field to pick from, ey my friend?" He joked as he set his elbow on his shoulder. The feeling of bones creaking sending shocks through his body. "Damn that little girl, and you. Do either of you know what holding back means?" He sighed as he turned back to Kore. "I trust this lovely garden angel offering us safety through the woods. She has no reason to help us and if anything, was more hindered by our coming here. After all, she's as panicked by hunters as the rest of us."

He kept the warm smile on his face as he turned and slowly put his hand to Snow. "Will you come?" He asked her politely before moving towards this new woman. "Kore, I thank you for your aide, but know that if you cross me," His eyes darkened as he went into his assassin-like "you won't live to see another day." It didn't matter if she was an S rank abnorm or anything, he would kill any who betrayed him. Looking to Vira he chuckled. "So, you're going to risk having the world against you rather than joining a crowd that's already shown they can handle themselves and aren't as likely to betray you." Ryuji motioned to the small cluster. "I mean, if we were going to kill you, we'd have already done it." It was a bold move that would likely have him end up with another broken bone, but even right now he was nearing 75% of his ability. If she were to attack he could latch onto her and get a few quick jabs in to immobilize her. It was better than letting this desert rose wander alone.

Ryuji watched in surprise as the girl changed for a moment. A dark side to this angel, or should I say Nephilim? He smirked as she pulled the man in and began to question him. "Oi, this looks fun. A foolish hunter walks right up to a group of abnorms." Ryuji laughed. "Are all New-American hunters this stupid?" He could hardly hold himself back and even after seeing her power he wouldn't take back his threat from earlier. "If you don't talk boy," Ryuji put on his mask and glared at him, the dark foreboding in his eyes screaming intent to kill. "I get to have my fun and add another tally to my kill count." He chuckled, forgetting that Rose was beside him.

Scarlett O'Hare

She didn't like being held. NOR did she like running from a fight. "Coulda killed." She muttered as she was dragged away. Even without her full strength crushing someone's head took very little. There would've been no chance if her new master had given the order. But she was a pet, a tool, no wait, she was trying to be human. Would it have been right to kill him even then? A headache quickly worked its way into her and Scarlett groaned. "Thinking." She muttered as she continued to try and define everything that had happened. To assign a meaning to the world drastically changing around her. Deciding not to worry about it, she forced herself free of Patrick's grasp landing just in time to notice the large group of people nearby. They were the ones that she'd fought earlier. "Strangers!" She called out to Patrick and pointed, trying to keep her voice soft, but just before she could do anything she saw the hunter from earlier getting pulled in by the plants. "Strong." She muttered and walked up to the group, grabbing hold of the hunter's leg. "My toy." She spoke as she pulled "lightly" taking the branches down along with the boy. She contemplated simply crushing him now, but he really wasn't a threat, but he was also in her grasp, there was little he could do without having his leg shattered.

Rose Valencia

Rose listened to the jabbering of this group like they knew anything at all. Despite her happy-go-lucky attitude, dreamers like this Sera girl were few and far between. And worst of all, annoying. "Little Sera, I love your upbeat attitude and thinking we should work together and be nice, but you should probably sit the fuck down before someone shanks you for stepping out of line." She kept the smile on and despite the obvious threat, the way she said it was like a chipper child saying they had found something exciting. "You make a good point, but let's just all agree that we hate each other, but understand the necessity to move as a group. Deal?" She looked to Vira and extended a hand as she pushed her glasses up along the bridge of her nose. This woman looked like she knew of gang rivalries from her reaction. It didn't matter though. She couldn't have any idea how a TRUE gang operated.

Rose eyes perked up as the boy was pulled out from the woos. "Oh ho, are we interrogating a hunter? I want to do it!" Rose ran over to the boy and smiled as she slowly removed her glasses. Locking eyes with the struggling lad she watched as he stopped squirming just as the girl with immense strength pulled him down. "He won't move for a couple of hours." She smirked as she slid her glasses back on and pulled out her bowie knife. "He may be your toy, but he's my prisoner. And I want some information." Rose grinned as she contemplated tearing the lad apart.

Lucca had not been one to appreciate being called an amateur, after all, he had been in this business for a few years and he's been doing... fine-ish? Well, what's not fine-ish is this situation that he's currently in, being suddenly grabbed by a tree and hung above ground right in the midst of an Abnorm gang. Should have just went home.

"Who me? I wasn't going to hurt anybody, not people at least." said Lucca in the most innocent tone, though seemingly a bit too calm sounding. "I'm just a lone wolf from the frontiers, seeking new opputunities in new places. The guns were simply for self defense, certainly not for hunting Abnorms like those dastardly hunters."

He was quite confident that if he was careful with his lies, he'd be able to get of clean and live another day despite the rain of interrogations coming from the many scary looking Abnorms. That is, until Scarlett came and less-than-gently tore him off the tree's grasp, claiming him to be her "toy", causing him to drop his file binder from his jacket. It was as if time had slowed down while the file binder falls, and upon striking the ground, the binder's pages were open for all to see, the wanted posters, the notes taken on high priority bounties, along with newspapers clipping regarding to Abnorm cases, all plain for all to see.

"Now... how did that get there?"

Beads of cold sweat runs down Lucca's forehead as he struggles to see a way out of this one, and it's only made worse when he suddenly lost all strength from anything below his neck after looking into the eyes of a lady with pink puffy hair.

"Well," he said with a now extremely high pitched voice, "I think we got off on a wrong foot. H-how 'bout you just put me down, and we can start over? How bout that?"

Snow
diabolik-lovers-011.jpg

His hand was reaching for her. Was this a joke? A trick? Snow eyed Ryu’s hand and frowned, overwhelmed so much that her neck and cheeks flushed. “U-um s-sure. I-if you want. I don’t have to I mean. I know- well what I mean to say i-is-” Snow’s breath hitched as Kore’s power shifted.

Her blood sung to her, let her know of the new power it felt. What did this tree girl mean by too late? Snow’s mind did not have even a second to ponder the meaning before action sprung around her. The plants moved and a man was suddenly captured. A hunter! Snow gasped and took a step back, the bandages that Sera had so lovingly put on her ripped into shreds as thorns ripped from inside of her skin and wrapped around her legs in growing vines. They were especially agitated around this Kore woman. Snow yelped, biting her lip to keep quiet as her eyes went bright red and her hair turned white. Her blood sung out at the power, urging her to find protection. Snow would never follow that siren call though. No one deserved to have their freedom taken from them. Instinctively she turned towards Sera and Ryu, the two she trusted more than all the other strangers. But Ryu was… he was talking to the Hunter. Why? Did he… did he like torturing people? She didn’t know anything about him. Nothing. What was to say he… he wasn’t as bad as this new bad side of Kore.

She backed up again as the hunter was brought closer. The pink haired girl was also wanting to torture him. Sure Snow didn’t like Hunters. She was scared by them! Terrified! But… but she couldn’t find it in her to wish harm on anyone. Except the man who killed her- No. No thinking of that. She didn’t know if she was still wanted for running from the capture of a WG soldier all those years ago. She didn’t want her name popping up on any radar. She trusted this Kore girl and the pink girl to handle him. And now a child? Oh god look what she just did to him! A toy! Snow was done.

Maybe the mean worded warrior woman had it right. She needed to look out for herself. These people wanted blood. They wanted pain and suffering. This wasn’t her scene. She went to tug at Ryu, to tell him she needed to go… but stopped. That mask he now wore scared her. It was… it filled her bones with trembles and her skin with goosebumps. Snow shook her head. He was nice to her. He pitied her. But she was bleeding right now and if a fight broke out… she could be exposed.

“K-kill count?” the words softly came out to just herself. Her eyes widened. Ryu may have saved her… but she could be the next notch for his kill belt.
Snow turned to the forest that Kore had been trying to lead them too. One step. Then two. She turned to see if maybe… maybe it was safe to stay, but her red eyes saw Kore’s expression. It was one that made her whimper in fear.

Red eyes found Lucca’s, the bounty hunter… she felt sorry for him as his papers fell out.
That poor man would probably die… how sad. “I’m so sorry.” She mouthed to him, not knowing if he even noticed a small thorn covered girl. Her body turned back around, back to this group. She would not be the stupid idiot who hung out around danger. No way. Her legs and arms burned with the movement as it tore at her skin more but Snow hardly noticed when she began to run into the forest. These people she was sure, would kill her if they found out how unlike them she was. How much violence upset her. She would be labeled as a pest.
A weakling.
Heck… it might even Ryu, the stranger who had saved her life, that killed her.

Kore Dair
Sighing exasperatedly, Kore decided to let the rest of them have their fun, as what was left of the branches, vines and other plants fell away limply as Kore straightened her back, and the helpful pine extended a branch holding her bag of grains, and she put it over her shoulder once more. Apparently it was no fun in a group, or... She didn't want it to be fun... No, it isn't fun.Ofcourseitis
"Have your fun, just as long as you kill him afterwards. He was trying to capture you after all, little girl.", she said, staring at the 'toy' girl as she spoke. "I have no need for him, but to know if he has any friends lurking in the town.", her voice was back to it's normal soft spoken kindness, as if someone had flipped a switch and turned the blinding lights back on.
"But, my offer still stands. After all, none of you are trying to kill or capture me now, which is at least something.", a wry smile pulled up the corners of her mouth. She picked up the guns, and unbuttoned her coat a little, securing them to her belt and buttoning the coat back up. "Finders keepers.", she muttered, smiling. Such things were useless to her once they ran out of ammo, and of course she was an awful shot, but hunters guns had come in handy now and again.

Listening to the hunter with an amused eyebrow, and seeing his file, she threw back her head, and laughed. Hard.
"Oh! Oh my... What a pathetic excuse.", she held her side with her one arm. "To think that you didn't even memorise your notes!", she laughed more, pointing at his file.
"No doubt I shall be in there, silly boy.", she shook her head, her full on laughter had become a soft chuckle. "Although, there will not be much about me. There has been no new information since the last one I read.", she looked him dead in the eyes, smiling that deadly sweet smile again. They knew no more about her than she did herself. All that any of them knew was that she was extremely dangerous, rank A, blah blah blah. Never anything about her past, nothing. Not even a hint or clue. So Kore had given up by now, and only really read those things to be able to recognise faces if she ever met them, but it had been a long time since she had encountered a hunter.

Noticing that someone had decided to- wait. She was injured?! Kore blinked for a second, shocked to see this girls power. It seemed more of a hindrance than anything else. Anyhow, Kore had no intention in letting her leave in that state, and the grass at the girls feet made sure to that, tying itself strongly and tightly around her feet, as Kore strode towards her, concern covering her now soft expression as ivy wrapped around the girl carefully, as gently as was possible so as not to cause her more pain.
"You aren't leaving. Not in that state.", she said softly, but firmly. "My guess is I can't touch you, correct?", she said as she knelt down next to her. These thorns probably held some sort of poison, so it was best to be careful.
"I can see that you're scared... And, for that I am truly sorry. But some of us here have not been granted the kindness of keeping our kind hearts when it comes to... This.", she gestured at the hunter.
"We are all scared, everyone is. But we all show it in different ways. Now, I'm not suggesting that what we do is right, but...", she sighed, "Most of the time it is necessary. At least let your thorns recede and be treated before you make a decision to leave.", Kore said kindly, a hint of sadness in her voice. She would only release the girl once she had calmed down, the thorns were gone, and she agreed to having medical attention like she had before.

Vira
"Don't make me laugh. You like many of these fuckers around here are a fool. You obviously lack experience then, if you believe any of that nonsense coming out of your facehole." She wrinkled her nose at the man, still unsure why he was even talking to he; why she even bothered to speak back. "Now shut it, you sicken me." Her ears didn't want to, but they caught what the Kore girl was saying. "What? Living up in the mountains? What sort of lame life is that?" she refuted. "If you're 'content' living up in such an area, you might as well be dead." Why was this woman so contrarian to everything said?? Cuz everything said was asinine as fuck! That's why!

Oddly, she paused at what Sera had to say. They reflected various words she had heard in her past. 'If we continue this battle, Vira, then the world will never get better. We are apart of the problem. We have to stop. We have to leave this place. Leave that... vile man behind! We can make things better. Please, Vira!' The pleading face of that cute little silver-haired girl showed up in her mind. The voice of her sister. The voice of an angel. She narrowed her eyes, but didn't speak out at Sera, like some probably thought she would. It was hard to fight against Ellie. Besides, Vira had promised to do better; to be better, because of her younger sister. Having such conflicting views, that she voiced harshly, didn't help in that regard. Gr. She growled inwardly, turning her gaze away.

Various things happened, only barely requiring Vira's attention, however something that made her cross, was what that redheaded man said. Flashing him a fiery glare, she spat, folding her arms, "It's riskier to have others around you! To trust! To care!" She snorted, upturning her nose to the side, "HA! Yeah right! Not possible! You could never kill me, idiot!"

In the midst of her rebuke, it seemed the Hunter that sparked her power before, was captured. It wasn't so subtle either. Kore quickly switched her tune, sending vicious plants to snatch the hiding man from his little bush. Ha! Serves the idiot right! How could he imagine this would've gone down? Attacking such a big group?? What an idiot. Vira stared at the pink-haired girl, thinking 'Nope'. And saying, "I don't agree to such a thing." But now it was time for the interrogation of the man. A couple questions were asked. He stated his 'case'. Vira rolled her eyes, still standing there hip cocked, arms folded. Through her ability, she could determine this man's intentions quite easily. "He's lying, if that wasn't obvious. He's a Hunter, and he had it in his mind to attack .. you guys. He was after any Abnorm he could get his hands on." She pointed towards the pale girl with the white hair, trying to slip away. With the weird thorny bleeding thing going on. "Like that one." Then she pointed at Kore. "Or that one." Then she pointed at the pink-haired girl herself. "Or that one." She glanced at the man with the mask on, and the fist ability. "Or him. Yikes. There's a lot around here right now, huh?"

Jackson frowned as Ryuji spoke the way he did, "I find it hard to take you seriously when you flirt with anything of the opposite gender. With that being said," Jackson was suddenly interrupted by Kore noticing and stringing up a hunter. Taking his hand off Sera's shoulder, he stood back as he watched the interrogation of the hunter. Of course, the hunter was a terrible liar, but Jackson decided to not get involved until Vira began to point out who had powers. "In the future, I would appreciate you not being so blunt in revealing our powers as if they were your own." Question is though, would people think differently about him now that his possible abnorm powers were out there?
