On this topic, my personal input is that they wouldn't be able to manifest physically without the before mentioned 'possession' or for lack of a vessel that could withstand the power of their true essence. For the case of being able to talk to and see them. You could take inspiration from the show Bleach, in which they could communicate with their contracted spirit/demon inside their own mental mindspace in person. While they wouldn't manifest in the outside world, it would allow you to talk face to face inside your spiritual plane in which you allow them to reside and give you power in return for fulfilling your deal/promise with said demon. Anyway, it would be up to Thalia_Neko Thalia_Neko for how its interpreted in this case Zenpai Zenpai
yuh it can be something like that! :)
as for physically manifesting them, thats a horrible thing that you dont want to do, because it means youve released a demon into the real world lol, something Witches in the Coven fight against (well normally :P ) normally if theyre summoned into the real world you dont have any control over them and have no idea what their intentions are, or what they'll do

also summoning a demon usually takes an inordinate amount of magical power to do so

The only reason I wanted more length is because I want to see characters thrive in this wonderful, magical world that we are exploring together. I want to know and understand who they are. I want to see what they are like, I want to be able to relate. I want to know a little bit more about the 'children' we have created for this story. I want to make a bit of true magic between our writings. A story that we can be proud of. I know it sounds like too much too ask for and that it probably is, but a man can dream right? A little bit more length can help require to think a bit more deeply about how their character interacts with the world around them, or give a glimpse into their past. Maybe it is a bit much of an unrealistic expectation, but as I said before. A man can dream lol.

So I apologize if I came off the wrong way earlier, but I'm not great with words half the time and I can only get out how I feel by addressing everything I felt. However I really do hope we can get along in the future as before. It doesn't matter if there is a requirement in the end or not. I just wish it could be a goal to strive for. In the end it doesn't matter anyway lol, its not my decision :P
This the reason I want to rp too! :) And to have great characters and great posts and all that stuff in the rp! :) Its definitely why I rp. XD (Also escapism lol)

Oh and I basically agree with everything else you said :>

Okay, might take me a bit to write sense today I got stressed out due to paying off bills for college and the like so, please bare with me a moment, I'll try to post about 4 to 5 paragraphs but due to stress, it might take a bit. The post might show up tonight around 8:30 or 9pm but it will be up today :) <3

I like how everybody went the route of fighting for their post or something big story-wise, and I was just like "eh, i'll just make my demon hit on my character all the time."

haha :P theres lots of fighting and stuff in the rp XD but yah i think thats a unique spin on your character! :>

Are the character applications still open? I got one of my friends interested in the RP but she can’t type in the characters thread.

Thalia_Neko Thalia_Neko K, so I've read everything and have determined that the essence of the character I had in mind already exists, so I'm probably going to need to rethink my character entirely. In the meantime, what's up?

Yuna is more or less in the position that my intended character would have filled. Oh well, I might as well do the character mostly as intended, it's not like there's a limit on the permitted amount of rebellious sentiment; that is somewhat the point of rebellious sentiment.

EDIT: I aught to ask; the intro post states that contracting is a requirement for all witches (and somewhat implies the same for sages) but it is also restated in the lore details for the Single Digits, implying the inverse is true for Double Digits; that Double Digits don't necessarily need to contract a demon unless they rise to a single digit rank. I'm assuming the expressed rule takes precedent here, and that every witch and sage has to contract with someone, but is that the case?

EDIT 2: scratch that, just read the CS more carefully. I can read three extremely dense pages of IC, but not the CS notes xD

I tried my best to not be contradictory in the info I put out. :P But I can make mistakes XD. If you join The Coven, you are basically required to make a contract with a demon as a ranked witch. (I say basically, because you technically can join without doing that. But then youre expected to make a contract after you join, haha.) Witches dont necessarily make contracts though (Apostate witches), but they often do contact (not contract) demons, causing mayhem and stuff.

and yeah there can be more with rebellious mindsets! :) Yuna is far from the only deserter witch or coven-hating Apostate

I might make a few characters (though I'm only going to have one to start), is that okay?

Sizniche Sizniche
your character is good :>
for the record, ill accept that hes received rank 10 with no contract, but no other characters in the future can get anywhere near that high x)

also, nah, the Collective is actually fairly liberal, they respect freedoms and rights and stuff, and have a largely more open way of doing things, with a council that is more diplomatic and stuff
and they dont necessarily agree with The Coven a lot of the time, but hey, they also wouldnt want to go to war with them or anything :P
The Collective is actually quite powerful (i need to expand on it a bit more in the --near-- future), but The Coven dedicates themselves to namely contracting Demons, who are generally considered stronger for "magical might". The Coven, too, believes in totally controlling magic, which is why they HATE Apostates. The Collective is a little more open-minded about them, but generally does want magic mostly regulated too. Only because of how dangerous is is. (Thats the Covens voiced reason too, but..)

SO, Im just letting you know all this, so you can be sure to keep your character and the world consistent. :) Gateway and Staircase are on like opposite ends of the world, where The Coven's territory and The Collectives have like a defined line. (Which isnt necessarily minded but yah lol).

And he may want Celeste to be removed, but lets just say... thats probably not going to happen. xD Not any time soon at least! ;)

but yush, its good (serviceable) =)

I agree to the terms and conditions, but don't worry, Marrick will be my only uncontracted character

Also about Celeste, yeah, I expected that, but what can ya do, everyone loves her

Your witch doesnt have a rank number?

Your bio is also a bit... barebones. Her personality is small but fine I guess. But her history.. doesnt seem particularly well thought out. Is there any more you can elaborate on? Also the phrase, "bought an apartment" sounds modern, as that doesnt.. seem to reflect the medieval times this is set in.

Also note, "Dark Magic" in particular has plot relevance. A lot, so be aware of that. :)

:) Just be aware of what I said of The Collective, and dont like.. mention stuff that wouldnt seemingly be correct to the canon of it all. But I trust you and dont think that will necessarily be the case. (If it is, ill let you know XD).

Also Aon is a pretty active Number One, and many look up to him. I know Marrick doesnt like The Collective/Coven, but he could still potentially see him as a mentor of sorts/ respect him. Just a suggestion.

Mhm mhm, they do.. Sorta ;) I have a post coming up soon about that sorta.

its okay XD seems good to me! lol
I've done was way better, and, if I really get into the swing of things here, I will with my next character. I place partial blame on me being out of practice, and because I'm mobile(it's a lot harder for me to make good posts on mobile for some reason)

Its no worries! :> and yeah mobile makes it hard, and mobile sucks >< lol

I'm glad you understand.

I'll probably make my first post tomorrow, and I'll most certainly use my computer to do so. I just need to find a spot to work myself in.

Aon and Marrick are almost the same age, they'd probably be more like casual friends or acquaintances. But yeh, I can see that.

true, but hes still rank one, and is a prominent figure in The Collective, taking the time to mentor the newer sages and younger sages
