Futuristic The Codes of Humanity

Bether appears again but bringing with him a small army of shades "Get ready for the next wave!!" he shouted and he disappeared.

Minerva stood.

Break for the safe house? She thought.

Her head flicked between the van and the safe house and the body at her feet and to the shades around her.

She started to run to the safe house, but quickly turned heel and fled back to the van. She tossed her heeled shoes to a side and ran as hard as she could.

A shade had jumped onto the roof of the destroyed van - her company van! - and her eyes widened.

She opened her mouth and screamed, "Extant!"

Well that was rather bothersome, wasn't it?

A nearby shade attempted to pounce on him, only for the spreading darkness to lash out; tendrils of shadow piercing its hide and dragging the carcass into nothingness.

"The irony kills you too, eh?" He chuckled before walking quickly over to where Minerva had scrambled.

"I'm going to pick you up again, yeah? That way, if you're so hell bent on staying out here with us, you can and you can shoot your gun, from the safety of," wait for it, "darkness." He was on a roll.

Before she could say anything for or against it, however. He'd already scooped her up.

When the next wave of shades appeared, The Extant's shadows did a majority of his fighting.

Shura watched his comrades fight, intent on not getting involved unless absolutely necessary. So far, it seemed that they had everything under control. He wouldn't need to get involved - at least that's what he was doing until the second wave of Shades appeared. It was a small army of them, the largest force that had appeared at once in known history. Shura frowned. He would need to help. Not wasting any time his Tombstone latched onto his arm, assuming it's gauntlet form.

Minerva didn't protest as she was swept up for the second time that morning, and instead steadied her gun and fired at an oncoming shade.

She managed to control the recoil, but her shot missed. She shot again, hitting the concrete beside it. Third time lucky, she managed to hit it in the chest, sending it sprawling.

She hooked her arm around Extant's neck and laughed.

She paused and then pouted slightly.

"Damn, those were my good shoes,"

She attempted to fire again, still missing most of her targets, but by now they were so coming so thickly, that for every miss she would hit another shade to the left or right.

Elle found herself in a clear boundary between herself and the rest of the area. All shades near her vanished. Hearing more shades, she glanced to their direction as she sees an army of them coming their way. Both of her swords powered up, emitting an intense glow of blue. Sparks shot out in different directions as Elle lets the swords levitate on their own. Swords and mind connected, she swung her arms to the side of her, each sword connected to an arm. Bringing her arms together, stretched with her palms forward; the twin swords glide in the air closer together and begin swirling around each other. The kinetic energy increases the faster they spin, creating a spherical bursts of electric energy toward the army; killing some at a period of time.

Shura ran at the massive force of Shade - the Second wave. A few passed him, but he didn't concern himself with that as his fist began to crackle with dark red nuclear energy. Swiftly, he buried his fist into the ground. Seconds later, nuclear energy geysered out from under him, exterminating 90% of them with ease.

"This is why i hate Codes always foiling my plans!" he said angrily, he summoned a shade made of pure Oblivion "behold, my Shade of Oblivion!!!!!!" he said loudly, the shade charges towards the Codes.

Gazing at Shura's work as she slices a couple more shades he left behind. She's seen him multiple times yet was never verified his name; she simply assumed it was the "Shura guy" she called him. Elle examined the code's powers and the amount he had killed. A forbidden.. Without much thought, she fried yet another shade who tried pouncing on her. Turning from Shura, she continued fighting, blasting shades that escaped Shura's deadly move. There are bound to be more. Who's to say if all of them were forbidden. I'll just have to stay on my toes. I'm bound to be killed if I slip up. Her thoughts kept her busy as she sliced and diced through more shades. Propelling one of her swords in front of her, stabbing multiple at once, before the sword yanked back. Hearing a loud cry, she directs her eyes to the sound and sees another shade. It was unlike the others. She had to prepare for her next move.

Minerva peered over Extant's shoulder and heard the yells of someone... Something.

A Shadowlord,

Her gun, now empty, slipped from her fingers and she whispered, "That does not sound good..."

She wrapped her other hand around Extant and held on tighter, fearing for the worst.

The Extant himself didn't exactly do much more than, stand there holding Minerva while she, and everyone else. fighting had their fun.

He yawned, and when Minerva started laughing he just chuckled.

"Enjoying yourself then?"

His shadows however, or more specifically the ones he controlled, were busy destroying everything they got their hands on, tearing through them with pointed edges, coiling around limbs only to tear a shade apart. Worst of all; they left no trace of their passing. Living and dead shade alike were consumed by the shadows.

When the Forbidden Code finally bothered to get involved. The Extant just blinked. Then when the Shade of Oblivion, or whatever the hells it was that guy had just shouted, started barreling towards them. He just sighed.

"Oblivion is pretty much nothingness. How can you make something of nothingness? That's just ... paradoxically ridiculous."

His shadows started tearing into it anyway.

When he felt Minerva cling tighter. He looked down.

"Don't worry, I gotcha."

"I can construct things made of nothingness even shades" he said, he starts shooting beams made of oblivion to the Codes.

"But shades aren't nothing! They're something! That's one-hundred percent paradoxical!" He groaned.

Still, the guy was shooting beams and stuff at him. He started weaving his way through the beams, using tendrils of shadow to intercept the ones he couldn't dodge, or didn't particularly care to.

Spotting the shadowlord behind these newly found shades; Elle slightly ticked from the addition to the destruction yet she kepts her composure. She doesn't want to use one of her most powerful of attacks already. They not too long ago entered the battle. Flipping and dodging the oblivion beams while she thinks. Her swords surrounding her to keep her somewhat safe as she dodged through every beam thrown at her. She mustn't show a flaw, she reminded herself. Elle listens to Extant intentively at the same time. Her swords blast electric energy to the oblivion shade, slightly doubting any good would come out of it. Anything was possible at this point.

Minerva wriggled around to look at the man speaking. She frowned.

"They're obviously something," she called. "It's just illogical to say that something is-" Extant suddenly dodged to a side, and Minerva turned back into him quickly so she wouldn't fall.

"hahahahahah its okay you know soon enough", Bether constructed a Barrier of Oblivion to himself and his Shade of Oblivion

"See?! I'm not the only one who thinks it's weird!"

Then the guy started throwing up barriers. Which was fine by him. He wasn't exactly bent on attacking the guy, he was carrying precious cargo after all.

Bether starts making a black hole "now you will all experience nothingness!" he said loudly. The black hole starts sucking everything around it.

Minerva started to feel something tugging at her hair and clothes. She slowly turned her head and saw... A black hole?

"Maybe I should've gone inside," she mumbled.

Her eyes travelled to the safe house to see a shade smashing in a window.

"Actually, I'm good here." She said.

She pat Extant's shoulder once, "It's much safer here I think!"

Examining the Shadowlord carefully, Elle stayed quiet. It somewhat made sense what Captain Minnie and Extant were speaking of, but maybe it was beyond the basic concept of "nothingness". A black hole suddenly appeared out of nowhere. She then spotted an area. It was crazy, but she had to attempt her theory. There. If she had something explosive. Elle struggling to escape from the pull of the black hole, she makes it out of its direction; out of sight. She ran quickly toward the barrier, swords ready. The problem was the source all along. This oblivion had to have come from somewhere, if she was out of its way; she would be no longer distracted.

Bether noticed Elle going toward the barrier his black hole failed "No!!" he said angrily, he shoots 5 following beams of oblivion to Elle.

Explosions banged around her and the black hole was starting to suck in cars and other things from around her, whizzing past.

She covered her ears and ducked her head, pulling in her knees as far as she could.

With a quick eye, Elle weaved through the beams. A few moves were close calls. She had to have be more careful than she'd expected. The last beam almost hit her arm. Elador, give me the strength. Pointing her arms toward the barrier; her swords spun in a fast pace; creating electrical beams of her own. She needed to at least weaken the barrier before her final strike. Coming in to a close, Elle wielded both swords into her huge one before it stabbing through the weak spot. Her sword only going in one-fourth of the way. Electrical sparks rapidly danced around her. Clinching onto her weapon, hoping for the best as she stabs deeper. Come on.

"hehehehehe I'm just buying some time to let the third wave of Shades to go here" he said,"anyway its too late to escape" Bether started to disappear,A large army of shades start charging to where the codes are.
