Futuristic The Codes of Humanity

Shura glanced at Minerva and Extant chat. They seemed quite happy, but he still wasn't very trusting of the humans. Either way, Extant seemed to like her, so he figured he would be nice. Walking up to them, he stopped in front of her. his usual unintentional glare set on his face. "Minerva, right?"

Elle observed the battle between the forbidden and the shade of oblivion whilst butchering a couple of shades in another area. She noticed a shade coming at her, spewing acid attacks. Dodging a few as the acid eats away on the ground, Elle waves her sword down the center of the shade, splitting it into two before it collapses. Relieved that the oblivion shade was murdered as she continues slicing and dicing. Elle stood there for a moment, checking her surrounding as another shade runs toward her from behind. Hearing its vicious growl and heavy footsteps, she twists her body around just when the shade was about to attack, appearing behind the shade as she stabs it in the back. Elle finds herself attracting more attention whilst a bigger group comes along. Separating her sword, she presses her palms together, standing still before the swords began circling her. "2nd slice", stating calmly while the speed fastens; cutting a few at a time once they come close enough. "4th slice"; the swords swing around in double the speed, slashing a couple shades at a time. Electric energy increases between the two swords as sparks appear popping left and right. "8th slice" Elle spreading the circumference as she minces the rest of the group that surrounded her. There were more around but not close enough for her to notice. The slowing of the swords occur, Elle continues searching for more shades. How much longer will this thing ends. Still slightly ticked by the incident with the shadowlord. She didn't want the fight to drag on for too long. Yet what was her purpose of being here other than doing her sole duty of being a code? She was orphaned and knew once she was hospitalized. Saddening to hear about her parents yet remember little to nothing about them. Not knowing her purpose in moving on; Elle ignore that part until she was able to think more clearly.

Minerva was surprised to hear her name.

She turned to see Shura glaring at her.

"Yes," she said warily "Shura?"

Shura frowned, probably only making himself seem more intimidating. Minerva seemed wary; he assumed he was making the wrong impression again.

"I don't like humans," he says, "but - you're not that bad." Shura points to extant now. "He seems to like you well enough. So if he decides he wants to help you out permanently, take care of the guy. I may like you, and I may not know him well, but he's 'family' in a way, you know? If something happens to him, I'm holding you responsible."

Minerva laughed despite herself. What a great way to start a conversation, 'I don't like humans' but he seemed okay despite that.

"The day I manage to hurt Extant is the day pigs fly,"

She pointed at a couple of the shadow tendrils consuming a shade.

"I would never get close enough,"

She had rather forgotten her position, it becoming almost, oddly natural.

Shura shook his head. He didn't mean her.

"I wasn't speaking of you specifically," he replies, "We are Codes. We've been taken advantage of once. You are military; government - the ones who took advantage of us. I don't think you will do a thing to him - I admit that you are good and that you won't try. But can you say the same for your higher ups?" Shura already knew she couldn't. "That's my worry."

Minerva looked away, her expression darkening. Her head dropped and she looked back to Shura.

She opened her mouth and drew in a breath, but let it out without speaking. She looked around nervously again.

"I won't let anything happen to him," She said. "To any of you"

"Not if I can help it,"

She was feeling strangely angry at the thought of the Codes being used again. She didn't want that. She didn't always have this opinion, she didn't always have one. But maybe the tough circumstances had forged a connection from her to them. Whatever it was, she would do what she could to protect them, even as a powerless human.

Shura gave an appreciative nod, though he didn't fully believe in her words. He knew she would do what she could, but there was know way she could fight against the whole government system. Not alone anyway. The worst case scenario could result in her death and he didn't want that.

"I suppose... but be careful."

Minerva nodded.

"You too," she said, with a small smile. Not like either of them needed reminding in the current situation.

Shura nodded once more, feeling he'd made some sort of amends for his earlier attitude with her. He supposed that wasn't her fault - he just didn't want to be captured.

Minerva nodded and smiled again. She suppressed a yawn with the back of her hand.

By now hardly and shade were coming anywhere near her.

She felt safe where she was, surrounded by Codes and hanging in the arms of another. She rubbed her eyes with the heel of her hands, but blinked and smiled at Shura and Extant.

Error was slashing through Shades like nothing. Cutting them down left and right. Sudden;y massive amounts started to converge on him. Pulling on his own fear, he used Terrorblade, transforming his umbrella into a black katana. He disappears and reappears beside Elle. He snaps his fingers and an every Shade he went past and building were cut cleanly into pieces.

Shura hummed at Error's display. He was pretty good, a compliment he didn't often give out even in his thoughts. Though he'd yet to see anything that could make him question whether or not his Code could ever be upgraded to being regarded as a forbidden, he could admit how powerful Error was.

"Instead of pigs flying, I'd prefer if I could." He responded; and while it was said in a joking manner, he was rather serious.

"But eh. I only bother with the Shade because of the irony of me killing 'em with shadows, sometimes even their own shadows." He chuckled.

"But you're not a shade, for one, and two; like the guy says, I like you. You're pretty neat. So the chances of me turning on you are ... Add the one, multiply by seven and carry the two .." He dropped of, lost in thought for a moment before seemingly coming to an answer.

"Completely nonexistent." He stated rather pleased with himself.

Minerva shook her head in amusement. "What about if I ran at you with a gun?"

"Well I suppose there's nothing stopping you, and you do seem to enjoy shooting at things." He admitted.

"But there's really nothing stopping me from stopping you without hurting you, either."

Though, he was fairly certain bullets would be the least of his problems if she needed to come after him with a gun.

He gets up off his sofa and heads upstairs, checking all his empty rooms. "I need to fill this place up." He heads to his bed, taking off his shirt. "What a long day." He flops down face first onto his bed. "I wonder what i should do tomorrow." He turns over on his back. "Maybe find a hot human girl."

She smiled behind her hand and rolled her eyes.

"I do not enjoy shooting things," she defended. "It's necessary, I don't really want to be eaten alive thank you." She tossed the now empty gun to the concrete and crossed her arms.

"I am Chief of Strategy at HDF, and the Chief does not enjoy shooting shades," she said hotly, but the words sounded hollow on her own ears

"Okay then Chief of Strategy at HDF, who does not enjoy shooting shades." He responded with amusement.

"I'll believe you don't like shooting things when ... pigs fly." If it could be seen, his smile at this point would be from ear to ear.

"Don't mock me!" She cried with fake hurt.

She was laughing now, properly. She shook her head and sighed, still laughing.

"I'll have to engineer these flying pigs myself at this rate,"

She uncrossed her arms and straightened her shirt, putting her nose in the air, attempting a straight face.

Minerva looked at Error with surprise, before looking up at Extant to wait for his reply.

Elle glared toward the direction of the figure to see Error snapping his fingers and destroying shades and buildings. Unaware of her smile on her face, thanking him in thought. She listens to the conversation being held, silently.

Suddenly from the corpses of nearby humans, black and green flames emerged and danced around him. He held one up and it danced around his fingertips. "Fear of Death." He said as he used Terrorblade on the fears. His umbrella transformed to a scythe with green fir on it, it was pulsing slightly. He leapt back into the fray, scythe spinning wildly as waves of green flame mowed down their forces.

Watches Error's performance with interest, wondering what other powers he had up his sleeve. She couldn't afford distraction at the moment. At least not until they've finished the last of the shades. Maybe she could return the favor at a later time. Elle leaps on top of safer buildings in the opposite direction she was in, jumping rooftops to find any more that lurked around. Spotting a couple scattered in between the collection of buildings. A few devouring dead human flesh. The sight sickened her; Elle flipped downward onto the road, the impact of the landing immediate distributed her electricity on the ground, zapping the shades in seconds. Staring her a human corpse, its freshly torn meat giving a gruesome display. She turned from the sight.
